Sunday 11:45 P.M.: I sifted through my email. I went through www.geocities.com/mikelscott/scotwork.htm . I did a C:
drive to D: drive backup. I watched television while doing this.
I had the last slice of cheesecake. I had some of the trail mix.
I also had some ice tea. I have been watching a CNN program
on aircraft carriers. I will probably head off to bed
shortly. CIO

Sunday 7:55 P.M.: In My Network Places, I just uninstalled Client
for Microsoft Networks and File and Printer sharing. Recently
when booting up, I have had a problem with my networking staying
online to the cable service, and since I am not networking with
other computers, I might be able to fix the problem by
uninstalling Client for Microsoft Networks. I will see as I use
the system in the future if it worked. CIO

Sunday 7:35 P.M.: I went out about 1 P.M.. I drove down by the
waterfront. I then drove through Bruce Park. I found a purple
polar fleece size large pullover on the road going through Bruce
Park. I then drove over to Tods Point. I walked around the
entire park. I chatted with a local. I then stopped by Staples,
and I toured the store. They do not have store specials this week.
I then drove back to central Greenwich, and I drove down by the
waterfront. I then drove over to the Korean vegetable stand at
the Cumberland Farms shopping plaza on the Greenwich Port
Chester border, and I bought a large avocado for $1.49, a head of
broccoli for $1.49, trail mix at $3.99 a pound for $3.27 and
green beans at $1.29 a pound for $1.05 for $7.30 total. I then
toured Cumberland Farms, and I noticed they have 18 packs of
Coors for $8.99. I got curious, so I went over to the Port
Chester Beer distributor, and I toured the store. They have 12
packs of Busch beer for $4.99, 6 packs of Carlsberg Elephant beer
$6.49, 12 packs of cans of St. Pauli beer regular $7.99. I
finally bought the last 12 pack of St. Pauli Girl dark beer for $10.99
plus .60 deposit plus .74 tax for $12.33 total. I then returned
home. For dinner I had a broiled Porterhouse steak with Lea
and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, steamed white rice, steamed
fresh broccoli and green beans, ice tea, and a deluxe cappuccino.
I will now do some regular computer work. I do not usually drink
beer myself, but I keep it around for guests that occasionally
stop by. CIO

Sunday 11:45 A.M.: I went out after the last message last night.
I drove down by the waterfront. I walked the entire length of
Greenwich Avenue. I stopped by CVS, and for half price, I bought
a Sure deodorant stick for .95 plus .06 tax for $1.01. I sat out
for a while. I returned home, and I relaxed a bit. I had some
mozzarella cheese and crackers, cheese cake, potato chip, and ice
tea. I went to bed about 9:30 P.M., and I was up about 10:30 A.M.
this morning. I had breakfast of oatmeal, three slices of toasted
Rye bread, orange juice, coffee, and vitamins. I will do a bit of
regular computer work, and then I will go out for some fresh air.

Wednesday 5:05 P.M.: I studied cappuccino and espresso machines
on the internet until about 10 A.M. this morning. I then checked
the mail. I decided to return the Briel cappuccino espresso
machine. I gave a neighbor a ride over to Port Chester, New
York by Home Depot. I then stopped by the Greenwich Hardware
store. They explained to me their cost on the Briel coffee
machine four years ago was $350, so although it sells today for $130,
they could not discount it anymore. They cheerfully let me return
it for $111.30. They will send me a check for it in about a week.
I am sure some other coffee connoisseur will grab it up quickly
since it comes with the $40 frothing attachment. However, they
are not suppose to let you return 70% off merchandise. However,
since I am a long time customer, they let me do it. I checked out
the other Briel Capri SED-71 machines they had on sale from $240
for $150 for the espresso, cappuccino, drip coffee maker
combination with the frother attachment, which is an excellent
value considering the Capri model espresso along is $190. The
Capri model has a stainless steel interior and more advanced
features. Well, at this time of year with colder weather coming
in February, I suppose it is more important to save ones
money. I then walked lower Greenwich Avenue. I then drove down by
the waterfront. I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop.
I then walked over to Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason
Street, and I then returned back to the Hospital Thrift shop.
For $20, I bought a Braun Espresso Master E250T/E260T Modele 3062
machine. It came with the instructions and all of its parts.
Instead of being a pump espresso machine it is a steam espresso
cappuccino machine. It is actually a slightly older model that
appeared not to be used. I like this model very much since it
holds more coffee or espresso grounds for a stronger brew.
However the frother part is not as frothy. I then returned home.
I put the Braun espresso cappuccino machine on the left side of
the kitchen hallway bookcase next to the newer one on the right.
I then had a broiled porterhouse steak, with steamed white rice,
and steamed fresh broccoli, and ice tea. I then started to brew
up a batch of cappuccino in the new Braun machine. I first brewed
water through it to clean it out. I then discovered that my
second Braun coffee grinder with the espresso beans was broken
since it smoked when I turned it on. I had not turned it on in a
long time. I tried to fix it to no avail. I then took the
removable newer parts off it and put them on my older Braun
coffee grinder, I use for my regular coffee beans. I then filled
up the Gaggia coffee grinder with espresso beans, and I
discovered the Braun cappuccino espresso grinds holder fits it
perfectly when filling it. I put the Gaggia in between the two
Braun espresso cappuccino machines. I then read the instructions
which are pretty much what I am familiar with. I then made up a
batch of cappuccino with the new espresso beans. I tried to froth
the milk too early in the process, so it did not quite come out
well enough. Still it was an excellent cappuccino. I will now do
a little bit of computer work. Since I only had three and a half
hours sleep last night, I am bit weary, but after the cappuccino,
I will probably be up a while more. I have been advised by
weather watchers from down south, that February might be a
particularly harsh month, since whatever means they use for this
forecast suggest it. Perhaps a flock of Canadian Snow Geese
showed up in the tropics or some other indicator like that. CIO

Wednesday 8:35 A.M.: I went to bed at 12:30 A.M. this morning
after relaxing a bit after the last message. I was up at 4 A.M..
I had breakfast of oatmeal, toast with Smuckers strawberry jam,
orange juice, cappuccino, and vitamins. I cleaned up. I relaxed a
bit. I called the Greenwich Hardware store, and they said I
should check with the salesman I bought the coffee machine from
at 10 A.M.. I relaxed a bit. I called AT&T and verified my
rate plan is $5 a month minimum, 10 cents a minute all the time
Interstate, and 9 cents a minute all the time Intrastate. I will
now do a bit of regular computer work. CIO

Tuesday 11:10 P.M.: Well, I had a busy day. I went out after the
last message this morning. I mailed the letter at the Valley Road
post office. I then stopped by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop.
I next went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I
then stopped by the Merry Go Round Mews thrift shop, and I bought
a brass hurricane lantern base without the globe for $2. I then
went down by the waterfront. Next I stopped by the ELDC thrift
shop in Cos Cob. I then went by the Food Mart in Cos Cob, and I
bought two large bags of Wise Ridges potato chips for $1.99 each,
and two Porterhouse steaks at $3.99 a pound for $5.04 and $5.36
for $14.36 total. I then went by the Stop and I bought two Marie
Callender chicken meals at $2.50 each, four half gallons of
Tropicana premium calcium orange juice at $1.99 each, a 10 pack
of S&S dry milk for $5.49, B&G Kosher Dill spears $2.59,
two one pound bars of S&S whole milk mozzarella cheese $1.99
each, a bottle of Modenaceti balsamic vinegar for $2.99, a two
pack of General Electric 15 watt light bulbs $3.29 for $31.50
total. I then went by Smokes for Less in Byram, and I bought two
cartons of Seneca Lights 100s for $19 each carton for $38 total.
I then returned home. I put away my purchases. I filled the brass
oil lamp with the Lamplighter oil I already had, and I used a
glass globe on it, I already had from another Lamplighter oil
lamp, and I put it on the Netherlandss Club of New York
trivet. I then checked my mail. I then had one of the Marie
Callender chicken meals for lunch with ice tea and a cappuccino.
I then put one of the 15 watt bulbs in the center living room
lamp that stays on all the time, so it is not too bright at night
when the other lights are off. I chatted with a relative. I then
went back out about 3 P.M.. I walked the entire length of
Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations. I stopped
by the Greenwich Hardware store twice, and the Putnam Trust Bank
of New York Greenwich Avenue ATM machine twice. The first
trip up the Avenue at the Greenwich Hardware store, I bought a
small British flag and a small Scottish flag for $2.99 each plus
two one dollar plastic flag stands for $8.46 total. A
friend of mine had asked me to buy these when available. I
already have my own. I then walked up the Avenue, and on the way
back down, I stopped by the Greenwich Hardware store again. On
the 70% off shelf area they had a Briel Kenya ES-36P cappuccino
espresso machine which was suppose to be regularly $349.99 for 70%
off. I bought it for $105 plus $6.30 tax for $111.30. It came
with the frothing attachment. I then walked down the Avenue, and
I put it in my car. I checked out coffee at Starbucks. I then
went by the waterfront again. I then stopped by Fresh Fields, and
I bought at $9.99 a pound of Allegro espresso coffee beans #24187
for $11.19 total. I then returned home. I unpacked the Briel
Kenya ES-36P cappuccino espresso machine, and I put it on the
blue bookcase in the kitchen entrance where the bread box was. I
put the bread box on another box to the side of the blue bookcase
and blue chest in the kitchen. I put a box of espresso cups I had
in the blue bookcase. I filled my other Braun coffee grinder with
the espresso coffee beans, and I set it on fine grind. I
tried fitting the frothing attachment on the machine, and it fits
on easily. I read the instructions and it basically works the
same way as any espresso coffee machine. I did not use it since I
did not need coffee, and I want to use bottle water with it. I
put a coffee jar of espresso beans behind the Braun coffee
grinder in between both coffee machines on the bookcase. I move
some boxes of crackers on top of the bread box. I read the
instructions for the new Briel coffee machine. I had two hotdogs
with buns and mustard and ketchup and a dill pickle slice, potato
chips, and ice tea for dinner. I then searched Briel on the
internet, and unfortunately Yahoo sells the same machine
regularly at $129.99 not $349.99. Thus I will check with the
Greenwich Hardware store tomorrow, and see if they will give me
70% off $129.99, if not I will return the Briel machine.
Basically they owe me about $70. I guess they were not aware of
the regular price on the Briel coffee machine. I am a bit tired,
so I will go to bed shortly. CIO

Tuesday 8:00 A.M.: I finished my sifting through the email and my
regular computer routine. I wrote a relative a letter. I
will now have a couple of hotdogs with buns and ketchup and
mustard a dill pickle and ice tea. I will then clean up and
go out for some fresh air. CIO
Note: <888> 01/22/02
Tuesday 4:10 A.M.: I was up at 3 A.M.. I put a new 60 watt light
bulb in the Decoy lamp in the bedroom. Yesterday, I replaced the
8 watt light bulb in the center living room lamp with a 40 watt
bulb which I leave on all the time. I had breakfast of three
medium boiled eggs, toast, orange juice, coffee, and vitamins. I
will now do a little bit of regular computer work. CIO

Monday 7:30 P.M.: I finished my regular internet routine after
dinner. I also watched the ABC evening news. I guess I will head

Monday 5:35 P.M.: I watched a bit of television with my visitor.
We had some cheese and crackers and ice tea. My friend left
about 3 P.M.. I relaxed a bit. I just noticed that the redirect
at DNS2GO for mrscott.com works pointing to www.geocities.com/mikelscott/ . However there
is a java script debug problem with it caused by the advertising
link. However, at least former users will now find what remains
of my old web site. I noticed that www.tigerdirect.com offers an
interesting $300 barebones system, but when one considers the
memory difference it is pretty much the same as www.accessmicro.com. I also
uninstall and reinstalled Client for Microsoft Networks. My
network logon has occasionally been spotty when starting up. It
seems to work fine now. I noticed two items enabled in the XP
Firewall, possibly caused by the new Microsoft Messenger. I
disabled them. I also locked out two more Trojan Horses from
Optimums network. I will now have a Stauffers 20
ounce lasagna for diner and an ice tea. CIO
Note: <888> 01/21/02
Monday 11:40 A.M.: I finished house cleaning and watering the
plants. I also ran Norton AntiVirus 2002, Norton Disk Doctor,
Norton WinDoctor, Norton SpeedDisk. I fixed the power connector
on the power nozzle on the Electrolux vacuum cleaner. It is about
20 years old, and the connector tends to get loose some times. If
the part were available, I could probably buy a new part for less
than $10 and install it. It can be annoying when vacuuming and
having the power nozzle cut in and out. I made up a batch of ice
tea using five Bigelow bags, five Lipton bags, two Lipton Green
tea, one Twinings Prince of Wales, Earle Grey, Black Currant, and
Ceylon breakfast bags using the formula at http://www.geocities.com/mikelscott/icetea.htm . I had two
hotdogs with buns and mustard and ketchup a dill pickle and the
rest of the pineapple cantaloupe fruit salad. I just finished
cleaning up. A friend just stopped by to visit. CIO
Note: <888> 01/21/02
Monday 5:40 A.M.: My friend and I went out yesterday after the
last message. We drove down by the waterfront. We then drove over
to Tods Point, and we walked the shoreline along the
eastern beach area for a while in the morning. Quite a few
people were out there walking dogs. I viewed a large ship heading
westward along Long Islands north shore. We returned back
to my place about 11 A.M.. My friend then ran out briefly to the
Food Emporium and bought two shell steaks with bones for $3.99 a
pound. I broiled these for dinner, and we had them along with
steamed white rice and steamed broccoli and ice tea. After dinner
I rested a while. We went back out about 3 P.M., and we walked
lower Greenwich Avenue. We returned back to my place, and I made
my friend a cappuccino. We then watched television until 8
P.M., when my friend left. I headed off to bed. I was up at 2 A.M.,
and I had breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jelly,
coffee, orange juice, and vitamins. I then went back to bed until
just a short while ago. I will now start my weekly house cleaning
routine after checking out a couple of news web sites. I
received a post card from a relative this weekend from the
volcanic island of Bali in Indonesia. CIO

Sunday 7:30 A.M.: A friend showed up yesterday about
5 P.M.. We split a Red Baron extra cheese pizza along with
having ice tea. We stayed up until 11 P.M., and my friend
stayed down because of the snow. I chatted with a relative twice
yesterday. I had some of the Pepperidge Farm layer cake. I was up
at 4 A.M.. I cooked breakfast of 3 scrambled eggs apiece, toast
with Smuckers strawberry jelly, orange juice, vitamins, and
coffee. We have been watching television. My friend went out to
clean off the 3 inches of snow off our cars. I am feeling a
bit better. CIO

Saturday 5:45 A.M.: I cleaned up, and I went out after the
last message yesterday. I stopped by the Outpatient Clinic at the
Greenwich Hospital, and they said I should take Nyquil or Tylenol.
I then went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.
I then drove down by the waterfront. I stopped by the
Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop. I then went by the Stop and Shop,
and I bought two buy one get one free of Red Baron four cheese
pizzas both for $4.99, two Pepperidge Farm chocolate layer cakes
$1.99 each, a Stauffers 20 ounce lasagna for $3.49 for $12.46
total. I returned home. I continued resting. I had some
cheese and crackers around midnight. Earlier in the day, I
finished off the carrot cake. I just had breakfast of oatmeal,
toast, orange juice, and vitamins. I guess I will continue
resting again today. A friend called, and said he would be down
to visit tomorrow. CIO

Friday 5:45 A.M.: I rested until 3 A.M., and then I watched some
television until 4 A.M.. I had two hotdogs with buns and ketchup
and mustard, the rest of the herbal rice reheated, a portion of
the pineapple and cantaloupe mixture, ice tea, and a cappuccino.
I then made my bed. I just finished cleaning up and showering for
the first time since Monday. I guess I had the three day Asian
flu, and I am just getting over it. I took another CVS extra
strength pain reliever gel cap and a Echinacea and Goldenseal
complex pill when I had the last meal. I am feeling a bit better,
although I am still a bit under the weather. I guess I will go

Around 11 A.M., I had a bowl of the cantaloupe and pineapple
mixture. About 6 P.M., I had three medium boiled eggs,
toast, vitamins, and orange juice. I just now had two cold slices
of eye round and with reheated herbal rice, two slices of
Pepperidge Farm carrot cake, and ice tea. I have been taking a
CVS extra strength pain reliever gel cap about every five to six
hours. I also am taking the Echinacea and Goldenseal complex pill
about three times a day. I am beginning to feel a little bit
better, but I am not sure whether I will be recovered or not
tomorrow. I will continue to rest until the flu goes away. CIO

Thursday 1:55 A.M.: I have continued to stay in bed resting
trying to shake off this cold or flu. I did have some Carrs

the last note. Around noon I had some Wise potato chips. I
was up at 6 P.M., and I had oatmeal, two slices of toast with
margarine and grated parmesan cheese on it, vitamins, orange
juice, and no coffee. I watched the ABC evening news. I continued
to rest through the evening. Besides taking my vitamins, I have
been taking every six hours a CVS extra strength pain reliever
gel cap and an Echinacea and Goldenseal complex pill. I had some
wheat crackers about 9 P.M.. I just had some reheated herbal rice
with two slices of cold eye round with Lea and Perrins
Worcestershire sauce and ice tea. I will now check the mail, and
maybe do a small bit of computer work before going back to bed.

attacking my computer with Trojan Horse entrance are 24.93.241.97,
24.116.63.100, 24.127.116.193, 24.185.227.139,
24.101.48.161. I assume that either these are the
source of the Trojan Horse attacks, which would assume they are
not very proficient hackers or that someone is spoofing these IP
address. Most hackers hide their IP addresses, so these might not
actually be the real source of the Trojan Horse attacks. CIO

stopped by the Greenwich Library, and I read the local paper and
the Wall Street Journal. I walked lower Greenwich Avenue. I
returned home. I received a letter from AT&T, I have to sign
up for a new rate plan. I tried calling them, and they said it is
a Holiday, and they would be closed until Wednesday. I am not
sure what Holiday it is. I am making up a batch of http://www.geocities.com/mikelscott/icetea.htm . When I

Monday 6:35 A.M.: I finished my regular computer routine. I had
to block a fourth IP address Trojan Horse that the Symantec
Firewall detected. Well, I suppose some of these early morning
risers like to do a little bit of hacking before going to work.
Let me remind any hackers that professional corporations take a
dim view of such activity, and this could lead to the termination
of their contracts of employment if caught, since at my level it
does not really matter, but on a higher professional level, most
professional employers would take a dim view of such activity,
particularly when directed at an individual like myself. I
suppose, it is like throwing a rock through a window, anyone can
do it, but few people do it under recently. Well have a good
morning, I am off to bed. CIO

Monday 4:50 A.M.: I had a minor technical problem. I was trying
to make my long list of Favorites available to Guest login, by
putting my Favorites in a temporary e:\webroot\favhold folder and
then tranfering the empty Favorites folder into the C: folder for
All Users, and hopefully thus enabling it, and then transferring
the empty folder back into the E:\webroot directory to enable it
for both logins, however it was going to take to long, so I
cancelled the operation after the !First and Bookmarks folders
were transferred, but when I tried to open the temporary folder
it was Access Denied, so I restored the !First and Bookmarks
folder from the backup back into the e:\webroot\favorites
directory. I then noticed they were all attributed with the Read
attribute, so I cleared this attribute in all my favorites. I
then for some reason can not delete the favhold folder which is
still access denied. I also tried doing this with a Safe boot to
no avail. Well anyway the Favorites are back to normal, except
for any in those two folders I might have added in the last month
since the backup which would not be many. Possibly interrupting
the operation which is tied to a Windows System folder caused the
problem. Well it is back to normal computer routine. The enabling
of the Favorites on the system does not seem to slow it down at
all. Well, I suppose out there in the world, there might be one
or two spiders that miss the favorites on the web, but I have not
received any email from users to that effect. I also had 12 Carrs
crackers with slices of Vermont extra sharp cheese and some ice

Monday 2:20 A.M.: I enabled my long list of Microsoft Favorites
by cutting and pasting the Favorites folder into the Favorites

from when I ran the server. I cleaned up the Favorites folder a
bit, so mostly Folders show when one opens the Favorites folder.
I will continue my normal internet routine. CIO

Monday 1:20 A.M.: I had an enjoyable dinner. I will now a little
bit of computer work. I added some of the music icons to my

Sunday 10:40 P.M.: I cleaned up, and I went out. I walked lower
Greenwich Avenue. I sat out briefly. I drove down by the
waterfront. I went by Exxon gasoline station, and I bought $5.40
of premium at $1.549 a gallon. I went to the Stop and Shop, and I
bought a large bag of Wise potato chips for $1.99, a box of
S&S saltines .67, by mistake not on sale a Pepperidge Farm
deluxe frozen carrot cake $4.59, a Pepperidge Farm chocolate
fudge cake $1.99, a eye round roast at $2.29 a pound $6.96, a
large jar of Smuckers grape jelly $1.50, a large cantaloupe .99
for $18.67 total. I guess the Pepperidge Farm carrot cake was not
on sale since it is deluxe. I then returned home. I put away my
purchases, and I had some ice tea. I use a melon ball scooper,
and I hallowed out balls of the cantaloupe, and I then peeled and
diced the Del Monte pineapple, and I mixed the pineapple and
cantaloupe together, and I added a tablespoon of Angostura
bitters, one a half ounces of Mount Gay rum from Barbados, and
two tablespoons of Master Choice lemon juice, and I mixed it
altogether, and I put it all in a large Rubbermaid container in
the refrigerator. I will now cover the eye round with garlic
powder, celery salt, ground black pepper, poultry and meat
seasoning, Italian spices, Basil, Oregano, and Bulls Eye
barbeque sauce, and I will cook it in the convection oven at 350
degrees Fahrenheit for 50 minutes. I will then make up my herbal
rice mixture, and have a couple of slices of eye round for dinner
with herbal rice mixture, and steamed fresh broccoli, ice tea,
and a cappuccino. It was not too bad out when I was out, the wind
had died down. I suppose the weather will be heading across
the Atlantic Ocean in a day and a half, and some area like
Scotland and points east will be covered with the blizzard that
hit Nova Scotia. CIO

Sunday 6:05 P.M.: I finished vacuuming and polishing some glass
and mirrors. I also ran Norton Disk Doctor and Norton Speed Disk
on the C: drive while I was asleep. I will now clean up, and go
outside in the quite blustery weather. I suppose there will be a
few Canadians around thinking it is a tropical breeze wearing
shorts and out to enjoy the night air. Well for those of you less
fortunate from warmer climates with thinner blood that find this
weather more severe, I would recommend taking shelter from the
elements. CIO

Sunday 5:10 P.M.: I had two pieces of toasted slice bread with
margarine and grated parmesan cheese before going to bed about 9
A.M.. I was up at 4 P.M.. I had breakfast of three medium boiled
eggs, two slices of toasted slice bread with margarine and grated
parmesan cheese, orange juice, coffee, and vitamins. I listened
to http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio5live/live/output28.ram and now I
will listen to www.radio10.fm . I will do the
vacuuming and then I will clean up and go out for a bit of windy
and blustery fresh air. CIO

Sunday 8:05 A.M.: I checked the Microsoft Security CD, and it is
not for XP. I checked the driver for my SOHO Lan card, and it
uses the default XP driver. I installed the Creative Windows XP
driver for my Creative MP3 Live card, and the audio quality is
much better. The computer system is running fine. I have
been receiving Trojan Horse attacks on my Symantec Firewall since
I installed it, and I have blocked three of the IP addresses that
appear to be from users on the Optimum Online Network. I have
been advised by Optimum that they monitor such attacks, but it
does not seem they are capable of doing anything about it. CIO

Sunday 7:05 A.M.: I decided not to have the can of Campbells
New England Clam chowder, since the date on it, I believe is the
expiration date, so I will throw it out. I had a can of Progresso
New England clam chowder that I believe is less than six months
old. Progresso does not label its cans with expiration dates that
I can figure out. I had the can of Progresso New England
clam chowder with 10 Carrs crackers with slices of Vermont
cheddar cheese on them along with a glass of ice tea. There
is a wind advisory on the National Weather service bulletin that
I get from www.weatherbug.com of winds around
45 MPH today. I chatted with a neighbor last night who had read
the local paper, and I was told the power outage on Friday night
was caused by a raccoon chewing on a power cable that got fried.
A couple of times in the recent history of the town, it has been
squirrels gnawing on the power cables. I noticed that CompUSA
sells a barebones system without a processor for $250, but it
only has 3 PCI slots. My viewpoint is that www.accessmicro.com offers some of
the best wholesale OEM prices on the internet for Barebones
systems which include the processor. Since my computer after
formatting and reinstallation from scratch of Windows XP
Professional Upgrade is running so well, I will not be having to
upgrade anytime in the near future. I put the Holland America
picture as my OEM logo, since it was the only jpg that came up
off my hard drive that fit. I received the Microsoft Security CD
several days ago. I might take a look at it. CIO

Sunday 5:30 A.M.: I had a bag of Lays KC Master Choice barbeque
potato chips yesterday morning before going to bed about 6 A.M..
I was up at 2 P.M. yesterday. A friend stopped by. I got a loaf
of bread from the bread donation table downstairs along with some
rolls. I had breakfast of oatmeal, toasted roll with margarine
and Smuckers strawberry jelly, coffee, orange juice, and vitamins.
My friend also had a roll with jelly. I cleaned up. We
chatted a while. We went out for a short drive down by the
waterfront, and we sat downtown a while. We returned home, and we
had ice tea and chatted a while. About 8 P.M., I had dinner of
two hamburgers with rolls and AC Dijon mustard, Heinz ketchup,
Bulls Eye barbeque sauce, Golds horseradish, and Hellmanns
mayonnaise and slices of Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese on
the burgers along with a dill pickle slice and ice tea and a
cappuccino. My friend had two rolls with Hellmanns
mayonnaise and Vermont cheese. My friend left about 8:30 P.M..
Yesterday I received a letter from the Connecticut State police
that they had performed an investigation, and there was no
security threat as far as my former internet web site was
concerned and the Terrorist hotmail address that I received five
threatening emails from. I still do not know why Microsoft allows
that Hotmail address to be used. After my guest left, I
watered the plants and did my apartment house cleaning. I still
have to vacuum later in the day. I rested from 1 A.M. to 4 A.M..
I put some more folders in my documents folder on the computer. I
installed Harley Hahns 1999 Internet web guide on my
computer. I am not sure how current it is. I put the OEM
logo program on my computer desktop. I tried booting the computer
at 450 MHz, but it still crashes like it always did, so it
remains at 366 MHz. I did change the Memory Multiplier in the
CMOS from 4 to 0. I guess I will now have a can of Campbells
chunky New England Clam chowder. It has a date on it of November
2001. I am not sure if that was when it was made or when it
expires. I will have some ice tea with it. CIO

Saturday 1:55 A.M.: Right after I wrote the last message, the
power went off in my building and all of southwestern Greenwich,
Connecticut all the way to Greenwich Avenue. I got out my beam
lanterns, and I checked to see if anyone was stuck in the
elevator which was not the case. I chatted with some neighbors
that had communications. I checked with the Housing Authority
answering service, and they told me that the electricity was off
in this part of town. I got out my Free Play windup radio, and I
listened to the local radio station 1490 AM, and they said that
it was in this part of town. They continued a feed of an internet
show. The fire department showed up in response to one of
the neighbors concern. I set out one of the Lamp Light
Farms Lamplight Farms oil lamps on the
coffee table, and it provided a very even light. I noticed that
at night without the solar cells working, one has to wind up the
Free Play radio a bit more than I thought to keep it playing.
Still the reception from our local radio station was fine. I
relaxed a bit. I made a couple of telephone calls. The
electricity finally came on at 12:30 A.M. about the time I was
ready to go out for a break. I started my laundry doing three
washer machine loads, and I am now on the dry cycle doing three
dryer cycles. They will be done in about 45 minutes. I am
not using the elevator at the moment in case the electricity
should fail again. Microsoft Word 2002 had saved the
previous note when the power failed, so I did not have to rewrite
it. Well, the computer is all running fine, and it is back
to normal routine. One has to remember to be prepared for when
the lights go out. The Coleman emergency light worked in the
bedroom. I put a new lantern battery in the smaller lantern.
Well back to normal routine. Somebody discarded an Ericsson DH668
Digital Cellular Phone down by the mail room which I retrieved.

Friday 9:30 P.M.: I was up at 2 P.M.. today. This morning before
doing the backup, I noticed that Microsoft Internet Explorer
works better without the JAVA virtual machine enabled, since on
sites with lots of JAVA advertising, it takes quite a long time
to download the JAVA applets in the web pages, and if the
internet is slow like it can be at certain times of the day,
downloading the additional JAVA script advertising applets slows
down and sometimes freezes the web browser. Thus I disabled the
JAVA virtual machine in Internet Explorer. I had breakfast of
three medium boiled eggs, toast, orange juice, coffee, and
vitamins. I then put clean sheets on my bed. I will do my laundry
shortly. After cleaning up, I went out, and I stopped by
the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop. I then drove by the
waterfront. I next walked lower Greenwich Avenue. I then stopped
by the Greenwich Library, and I read the local paper and P.C.
magazine. I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a 10
pound bag of S&S enriched white rice for $2.99, a bag of La
Moi spinach noodles $1.79, a Del Monte golden pineapple $3.99, a
32 ounce jar of Smuckers strawberry jam $2.50, Hell of a Good
horseradish $1.99, S&S Vermont extra sharp cheese $1.99,
S&S 50 ounce apple sauce, a large bottle of Lea and Perrins
Worcestershire sauce $2.29, Five Brothers garlic alfredo sauce $2.99,
a dozen large eggs .84, Lays KC masterpiece barbeque chips .99,
two bulbs of garlic at $2.49 a pound .85 both bulbs for $25.50
total. I then stopped by Vals Liquor store, and I bought a
liter of Gordons London Dry gin for $13.99 plus .81 tax for
$14.80 total. I do not drink alcohol myself, but I keep it around
for hospitality beverage for older relatives should they ever
need to entertain. I will put the Gordons Gin with the
other bar supplies. I then went by the Port Chester beer
distributor, and I noticed that the price of beer has doubled in
the last five years. The last time I was there about five years
ago, a case of Coors was $8.99 now a 12 pack is $7.99. I bought a
six pack on special of Hannover, Germanys Lindener Spezial
beer for $3.99 plus .35 tax for $4.30 total. I then returned home.

I then had some Pepperidge Farm goldfish crackers with ice tea. I
chatted with a relative about 6 P.M.. I rested until about 9 P.M..I

sifted through my email and my daily list. I went to Add Remove
Programs, and I uninstalled and reinstalled Internet Explorer. It
seems to be working a bit better. I also used Tweak XP to block
popups and advertisements. I have had a problem recently with
Internet Explorer freezing when some page content such as
advertisements are slow to download. It could just be internet
congestion which possibly as always existed, but since I have
been on an earlier schedule the last few months, it has become
more noticeable to me. Well, it is time to head off to bed

Saturday 8:40 P.M.: I went out after the last message, and I
stopped by the ATM at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason
Street. I then drove down by the waterfront. I then stopped
by the library, and I read three computer newsweeklies. I then
walked lower Greenwich Avenue. I stopped by Zyns stationary, and
I bought a scratch card for a dollar #31 Instant Payday
Doubler, but I lost. I sat outside for a while. I went by
Exxon, and I bought $11.35 of premium gasoline at $1.499 a gallon.
I then went by Stop and Shop, and I bought buy one get one free
of Khans Jumbo beef franks for $3.69 both and a head of
broccoli at .99 a pound $1.37 for $5.05 total. I then went across
the street, and I bought buy one get one free of 93% lean sirloin
for $4.75 both at $3.99 a pound on sale for $2 a pound for $4.75
both about 2.5 pounds total. I then returned home, and my
computer was just finishing running Norton SpeedDisk on the C:
drive. I then had a diet Coke in a frosted mug. I then browned
and drained the 2 ½ pounds of 93% lean sirloin, and I put it in
the large Revere pot with four tablespoons of olive oil, plus
four peeled and diced medium onions, eight peeled and minced
gloves of garlic, three 28 ounce cans of TuttoRosso crushed
tomatoes with basil, dashes of sesame oil, Angostura bitters, Lea
and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, McHilneys Tabasco sauce,
La Choy low sodium soy sauce, and a I sprinkled dashes of garlic
powder, celery salt, ground black pepper, Chinese five spice,
India hot curry, Italian spices, Basil, Oregano, tarragon,
rosemary, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, Hungarian paprika, parsley,
chili powder, three bay leaves, and two beef flavored bouillon
cubes. I mixed it all together, and after bringing the pot to a
boil, I simmered it for an hour. I made up a box of spaghetti
noodles shortly before the sauce was done. I had some of the
noodles and spaghetti tomato meat sauce for dinner with grated
parmesan cheese along with ice tea. I put one container of the
spaghetti sauce in the refrigerator and two in the freezer.
Basically for an alternative, one could put the spaghetti meat
tomato sauce on a hamburger and have a sloppy Joe or one could
put it on a hotdog on a bun and have a chili dog. I will now do
some regular computer work. CIO

Saturday 1:25 P.M.: Last night before going to bed at midnight, I

will be deleted. I changed the setting from individual

when one types mrscott.com it will now be redirected
to www.dns2go.com which will then redirect to www.geocities.com/mikelscott/ . Hopefully this
will all work. One should know in a day or two when the DNS files
on the computer servers are updated. I checked the mail. I picked
up a loaf of bread from the supply usually left downstairs on
Saturday morning. I had breakfast of three medium boiled eggs,
toast, orange juice, coffee, and vitamins. I received a telephone
call from a relative that has returned from a voyage. I just
finished doing my house cleaning and watering the plants. I
backed up the C: drive to the D: drive while doing the house
