Note: <888> 02/28/09 Saturday 11:35 A.M..  I was awake at 4 A.M. this morning.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, a glass of 50% passion punch and 50% cold filtered water with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made my bed.  I chatted with a relative.  I installed Microsoft Money 2007 on the FIC server and the other three desktop computers beside already having it on the primary Vista computer.  I installed any recent changes.  I backed up the FIC server and the other three desktops to both their second internal hard drives and the external hard drives.  I noticed on www.foxnews.com this morning that Bill O'Reilly is from Manhasset, Long Island where the Wright Brothers hardware store is, so I guess he better stay in broadcasting instead of going into Home Improvement in nearby Plandome Manor, Long Island where an even more conservative group of people live.  When I lived out on Long Island part time from 1978 to 1983, I spent a lot of time driving to my relative's house in New Canaan, Connecticut, and I did not pay much attention to Greenwich, Connecticut, because I thought it was bad luck, when I visited off the train the day Ronald Reagan was shot and all Hell broke lose, back around February 1981.  CIO

My Microsoft Money Index Portfolio that I started eight years ago with a 100 shares of 150 different stocks and 40% of Berkshire Hathaway A and B  for a million dollar investment which at the height of the stock market was up to $1,993,000 today is now worth only $1,094,182.61, but in its eight years or so that I tracked it, it was once around after the first year down to $875,000.  It is an index portfolio, and it was not meant to outperform the stock market, but just to track it.  Microsoft Money 2007 does not have product activation, so it can be used on multiple computers.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/27/09 Friday 10:00 A.M..  I went outside, and I threw out the garbage.  I chatted with some neighbors and a Greenwich Housing Authority official.  I walked around the building.  From the back yard, one can see a new Sunoco gasoline station, so maybe there is one down by the Connecticut New York border where the Exxon station used to be or possibly where the Gulf station used to be.  The new cage around the home plate of the baseball field looks like it is mostly finished.  They have an old pole that needs to be removed though.  From what I can tell, with the economic recession going on all over the world, there are probably more younger unemployed people downtown, so they do not need to have me out there volunteering my time observing on Greenwich Avenue.  I did that for 26 years in Greenwich, since I moved off Nantucket, and I also did that for ten years in Manhattan and a few other places where Manhattan people go.  Alas nobody ever communicates with me, since they are more interested in dealing with people with money, and thus low income people with communications do not get much communications in either direction.  Your would think, since we supposedly live in a democracy, someone would be interested in communicating with low income people, but they all seem to be more interested in following people whom they perceive to have money, which can frequently cost one money.  The internet costs me a lot of money and time, but it is better than having uninformed people misrepresent one, based on what little they know.   Greenwich, Connecticut is full of gossips whom really do not know much but soap operas, since they watch too much television.  It is my viewpoint, it also costs me money to go downtown and volunteer my time, and there are plenty of other retired people with more money, whom might think about volunteering some of their time, as opposed to being sidewalk philosophers.  I guess with the economic recession, basically all we can do is try to maintain appearances.  I have a feeling that nearby Westchester County is getting a lot more of our business, since a lot of the people I seem to see downtown in Greenwich are coming from that direction trying to get some of our business.  Alas, New York television seems to generate most of the media attention around here, but once quits going to New York City, it is really not relevant.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/26/09 Thursday 6:15 P.M..  I studied some of the Dutch Royal family web site.  I will have to look at it more, when I have the time.  I do not speak Dutch, but since my mother is 100% Dutch from Holland, Michigan, I once thought about moving back to the Netherlands, where I might be around more of my native people, but I was told by the Dutch consulate in Manhattan to be repatriated to the Netherlands, you have to have a Dutch father, and not a Dutch mother.  I guess at age 59, I would have a hard time getting use to another area, and it is very damp there, which is hard on the arthritis, like it is not damp on the west side of the Atlantic ocean.  I guess because we are not longer able to go to New Amsterdam, they have forgotten about us.  I installed the Quick Time viewer on the primary Vista computer, so I can view the content on the Dutch Royal Household web site.  When my friend called last night, I ate a 1/5th piece of pumpkin pie afterwards, and I will eat another piece before going to bed tonight.

I received with tracking of UPS: Tracking Information on the order for Guide Gear Short Jacket, Duck Brown, Men's Clothing, Guide Gear at Bargain Outfitters for $19.97 in 2XL with $5 off with coupon code "BF663" and $5.99 shipping for $20.96 total.  It fits quite well, and I hung it in the right living room closet.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/26/09 Thursday 5:20 P.M..  I never got my Save the Children Official Site - Save the Children: Helping Children in Poverty and Children in Need Christmas Card from the Dutch Royal Household The Dutch Royal House , so I guess they are probably cutting back on postage expenses and using the internet.   They still seem to spend a lot of money shipping flowers around the world.

The Dutch Royal House family photo

I tried printing out the Dutch family photo on the Samsung color laser printer, but it gave a out of memory error.  I printed out two 4 inch by 6 inch copies of it with the HP Photo printer, and I put one over the Dutch royal couple's wedding photo that was hanging on the front entrance of my apartment, and I put the other one in my photo album.  The one hanging on the front inside door has plastic wrap over it, since the glass on the frame broke, when it was hung above the light switch by the door, and kept falling on the floor.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/26/09 Thursday 1:10 P.M..  I had a telephone call from a friend last night about 10:30 P.M..  We chatted for about a half hour.

The friend mentioned this story 2 Money Managers Held in New Wall St. Fraud Case - NYTimes.com .

Futures group suspends 2 Greenwich investors - Greenwich Time

One of my three roommates at www.lfc.edu my sophomore year was Carter Bacon, and his younger sister Robin Bacon was married to Paul Greenwood at one time.  I am not sure if they are still married or not.  I think the Bacon family were from the bankrupt Wall Street firm of Bacon Whitbold.  I was a classmate at Greenwich Country Day School with George Whitbold, and his family ran the florist shop at the Waldorf Astoria.  Back in the summer of 1968, when I first visited Nantucket on my own, I stayed on Orange Street in a small one bedroom apartment with about 200 other prep school students, and apparently the apartment was rented by George Whitbold.  George Whitbold had a younger brother too, and they lived near the Greenwich Country Club.  Anyway, Carter Bacon's mother lived next door to the Bobby Kennedy family in Hyannisport, so possibly the Kennedys have made or lost money in the Greenwood financial fraud.  Caroline Kennedy also lives in North Salem, New York, so there are probably other people in that area involved too.  Carter Bacon graduated from the University of Virginia school of law, and the last I heard he is practicing law at Nixon Peabody in Boston.  He wrote in the Lake Forest College alumni magazine that he represents all of Saudi Arabia in Boston.  He once sailed around the world solo on his father's sailboat from Grand Rapids, Michigan, so he also knows how to leave the country undetected.  He goes by the alias "Bink".

There is also this story about North Salem, New York, since Stewart Mott lives in North Salem, New York G.M. Loses $9.6 Billion; Wagoner Back in Washington - NYTimes.com.   Richard Van Marter use to have a $85,000 house in North Salem New York, he sold for $150,000 about 10 years ago.  It was sold to Richard about 25 years ago for $85,000 by the Presbyterian Church in North Salem, New York which owned it for the minister, and after the church closed for lack of interest, they sold the house to Richard.  Thus the horse people probably have financial problems these days.

Also I was told by a relative that the fellow Stamford in in the financial fraud in Antigua also had a large office in Vero Beach, Florida, so he probably defrauded people down there too.

I finally woke up at 4 A.M. this morning. I did my house cleaning for the first time since the Friday before Christmas, so the apartment is a lot cleaner.  I threw out the garbage, and the old periodical literature.  The building custodian is back, he was sick for a few days.  I told him he should get a flu shot at the Greenwich Hospital outpatient clinic.  They have to label the new recycle garbage cans besides bottles and cans, they have to label one newspapers and one mixed paper, so people do not mix up the recycle materials.

I had the same dinner as two days ago.  I went downstairs, and I chatted with neighbors.   Earlier I chatted with a relative twice.  I am a bit worn out from the house cleaning, so I will not be going out today.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/25/09 Wednesday 6:20 P.M..  I heated and ate a 18 ounce can of Campbell's New England clam chowder, and I put a little bit of dried parsley on it.  I chatted with a relative.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  I think I might do house cleaning tomorrow after breakfast, when I wake up.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/25/09 Wednesday 5:05 P.M..  Yesterday, I propped up the primary Vista computer with four French wine bottle corks that I cut on an angle, so the Microsoft wireless 6000 version 3 keyboard is on a sharper angle.  I move the spices and other items from the top center kitchen cabinet to the metal and wicker videotape rack at the kitchen entrance.  I put the new set of Chinese plates, saucers, and tea cups and silverware on the top center kitchen cabinet shelf.  I straightened up the two lower shelves, and the same for the right kitchen cabinet.  I have not done house cleaning since the Friday before Christmas, so sooner or later I have to that, now that I am not doing too much on the computer all of the time.  Still the apartment is relatively clean.  It does not make sense to me that they are redoing the baseball field home plate cage, since they did that a couple of years ago.  However, that some times is volunteer project not funded by the town of Greenwich.  In the old days before the Bushs came to glory, the Duke of Windsor set Greenwich, Connecticut on the map, when he dedicated a statue at the Electrolux factory in Old Greenwich, Connecticut.  From the many people I have chatted with locally, more people seemed to have worked there than any other place.  Alas, I do not know if the statue is there anymore or not.  When I helped http://mikelouisscott.com/fred.htm run the apartment at 420 East 49th street in Manhattan, Wilbur Banks the Electrolux salesman from Greenwich even showed up there, and he sold Fred a new vacuum cleaner.  Wilbur told me that Stillman Rockefeller had a large bar in his house on Glenville Road.  Alas, I got rid of my two old Electrolux vacuum cleaners, since I did not have room for them, but I have the new Hoover machine that is somewhat awkward to use along with the older Sears upright that I fixed.  I also got rid of the old Hoover upright.  I spend so much time on the computers, that I frequently do not have time to get the larger perspective of the apartment, but it seems all right to me from my viewpoint.  So one of the days, I will do house cleaning.

There do not seem to be any bargain basement bargains at Michael Louis Scott's Bottom Fishing Links .  I think the Federal Government should use some of the Economic Stimulus package to give the non income tax paying low income individuals the same $300 tax return that they did last spring, but how about $500, since prices have gone up.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/25/09 Wednesday 3:35 P.M..  Of course the Bush www.georgebush.com  group after conquering the world of finance at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co.  went into local Connecticut politics and were also involved in the local charity milk fund and the Welcome to the Frontpage - The Greenwich Red Cross , and when the younger generations got tired of playing horse shoes at Tod's Point, they moved to Texas and became involved with Pennzoil before branching off into private business and Texas politics and then at the National Level.  Having been a resident in this area since 1961, with the first year in Stamford, Connecticut near where Vivian Vance lived before moving to Baldwin Farms North off Round Hill Road in 1962, I was aware of the Bush family for a long time, but alas since at my class at Greenwich Country Day School Greenwich Country Day , I was taught to be more private, since in my class of 66 people, I had a Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, Frick, Dodge, and Warburg along with a few people from Time magazine www.time.com , so we eventually moved to New Canaan, Connecticut for a year, when we spent all of our time driving down to Greenwich, and finally after living briefly next door to the Rockefellers on Alpine Road, we moved back to Baldwin Farms South and then we moved up to Weston, Massachusetts for a while before we returned back to Greenwich, Connecticut in the summer of 1973 where we lived near the Bushs, when we lived on Cornelia Drive, thus from my viewpoint, somewhere out there in the world, there might be someone who knows more than what is in the public media.  Alas, I do not pay much attention to the public media, since it mostly is trying to sell one items that one can not afford.  I ate a piece of pumpkin pie.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/25/09 Wednesday 2:40 P.M..  I went out, and I picked up the mail.  I chatted with a friend.  Not much seems to happening out here in Southwestern Connecticut, but it is my viewpoint with all of the New York people whom cross over the border into Connecticut that they might be up to something in our area that I am unaware of.  Of course in the tristate area, people commute back and forth all of the time, but with the large metropolitan area nearby, we get a constant ebb and flow of traffic from the New York City area, which varies hour to hour and day to day and week to week and month to month and season to season.  Alas, since I have lived in New York City, and since I have also lived at over 40 other locations, I tend to have a larger viewpoint than some of the locals.  With all of the media people in residence in town, we tend to get over advertised for the services that we offer.  If is rather quaint that whenever I explored the New York City library, it was never very busy, but the Greenwich Library www.greenwichlibrary.org seems to be a lot busier with all of its free internet access.  Not many people seem to read too much of the periodical press, and the way I figure it, it costs most of the users more money in gasoline to drive to the Greenwich Library than it would cost to have internet access at home, but I guess they enjoy the trip out here to the country.  In the old days, the students use to come out here and rent bicycles and in the warmer weather, they use to enjoy our outdoor parks, now they seem to enjoy the excitement of the internet in the Country for whatever it is worth.  Having covered the Metropolitan Museum of Art for 10 years in Manhattan during the last recession, it was never as busy as the Greenwich Library seems to be.  It is too bad they never used it more during boom times, and they would have a better direction as to have planned their long term futures.  In other words, I tend to be more conservative in my outlook as far as the economy, because I have a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Economics from www.lfc.edu which tends to give one a perspective as to what to expect in the economy.  Alas they are not yet selling apples on the sidewalk for a dollar, but I am sure some high tech people are trying to figure out what is the point of all this communications equipment if nobody knows how to communicate.  Possibly they do not even know English as a first language, and they just show up here, because the Hollywood types over advertise this area.  Connecticut originally got to be well known from Mark Twain, and then Bing Crosby with Christmas in Connecticut, and finally about 30 years ago, a lot of corporations started putting executive offices out here, and the locals liked it because it decreased the local property taxes letting the corporations to pick up the bill for the commercial real estate.  Also my only job in Manhattan was at www.cbsnews.com as a clerk typist during the spring and summer of 1973 during Watergate, and if you can recall in the early 1960s Lucy and Dezi made Connecticut famous in their television series, but alas Lucy's daughter lived in Bedford, New York at one time, but Lucy and Dezi were married by the Justice of the Peace in Byram, Connecticut, when in the Old Days, you could cross the state line and get married anytime 24 hours a day in Byram.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/24/09 Tuesday 6:25 P.M..  I went downstairs, and I picked up the mail.  I chatted with a relative.  I am a bit tired, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  Stay warm.  High tomorrow of 38 degrees Fahrenheit, and partly cloudy in the morning and sunny in the afternoon.  I heard a bit more jet traffic this afternoon.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/24/09 Tuesday 4:40 P.M..  I woke up at 4 A.M.. I threw out the garbage, and I chatted with neighbors.  I finished copying the files to the Netgear LAN Storage Device.  I have 66.4 gigabytes of files stored on it including the Server folder and files from the Primary Vista computer.  I also made 10 folders for each of the nine computers and a spare tenth one.   Also all nine computers are connected up to the Netgear LAN storage device.  I backed up the changes on the Abit, Epox, and bedroom Gigabyte computer.  I did not take the time to backup the changes on the laptops and the Northgate Syntax computer, which does not have a backup program.  I installed the updates on the Northgate Syntax computer.  For some reason, its LAN cable was disconnected from the Netgear switch, so I reconnected it.  Also on the second Dell Latitude CS laptop computer would not boot, and when I removed the new generic USB 1.0 hub from it, it booted properly.  I have an older Linksys USB 2.0 hub on the primary Dell Latitude CS laptop.  However, I switch the new generic USB 1.0 hub with the other new generic USB 1.0 hub, and there was no problem, and then I tried the other one, and there was no problem.  I went outside, and I checked the mail twice, and I chatted with neighbors.  I ate a sautéed 8 ounce London Broil steak with steak seasoning and steamed vegetables with olive oil and watered down passion punch.  It is cold outside, but the sun is warming up the apartment a bit.  I saw the first sign of spring, a flock of robins flying by.  One has to turn on the Netgear LAN storage device to have it work with the computers.  Since it is basically a storage device, there is not a lot of need to use it all of the time.  I thus have the files from my primary Vista computer hard drive saved on the second hard drive and the storage device, and also in the Vista Complete PC backup form on the second hard drive and two external hard drives.  Not that is really necessary, but since I have the capability I save the files.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/23/09 Monday 8:30 P.M..  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed right away.  Have a good night and stay warm.  High of 32 degrees Fahrenheit tomorrow and partly cloudy in the morning and sunny in the afternoon.  CIO

The order with UPS: Tracking Information on the order for Netgear SC101 Storage Center Network Attached LAN HDD Enclosure: SC101-100NAR JustDeals.com Inc. and SC101 - NETGEAR.com and with Vista SP1 you use this software http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/953 and http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/667 and more information http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/2537 for $19.95 and $6.95 shipping for $26.90 total arrived.

I put the new spare 320 gigabyte Maxtor hard drive in it.  I set it up on the right side of the primary Vista computer center monitor.  I set it to turn on and off with the right switch on the upper control panel.  I still have to label the switch.  I installed the Netgear SC101 software and the update on the primary Vista computer and the FIC server.  It works just fine.  I partitioned the drive into two 148 gigabyte partitions.  It is only FAT32, so one can not do a Vista Complete PC backup to it, since that needs NTFS file system.  I backed up the changes on both the primary Vista computer and the FIC server to their second hard drives.  I copied some folders to the Netgear Storage drive.  I am now copying the FIC server, server folder.  Once that is done in about 30 minutes, I will start the FIC server, and I will shut down the primary Vista computer.  I ate a ham and cheese sandwich on a Kaiser roll with 1/5th of a 5.5 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips and a dill pickle slice and a glass of watered down passion punch.  I am a bit tired, so once I have shut down the primary Vista computer and started the FIC server in a half hour, I will go to bed.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/23/09 Monday 1:50 P.M..  I went out after the last note.  I chatted with neighbors.  I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.  Most everything is 50% off.  I bought a 4.5 foot high metal and wicker CD or videotape holder for $2.  I browsed the shop, but I could not find anything else I need.  I then went by the Greenwich Hardware store, and I bought a grey five foot long Wiremold Cord Protector for $12.99 less $1.30 10% discount and .70 tax for $12.39 total.  I then went by CVS, and I picked up a prescription.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a six pack of day old Kaiser rolls for $1.25, a quart jar of B&G kosher dill pickle slices for $2.99, a top round London Broil for $2.99 a pound for $5.50 and another one for $6.22 less two $1.50 off Manager special coupons, , a two pound bag of baby carrots for $2.99, broccoli crowns at $1.79 a pound for $1.93 and fresh Chiquita bananas for .67 a pound for $1.89 for $19.77 total.  I then returned home.  I tried to use my vice grips from the tool box in the rear of the Audi to straighten out one of the screw leg feet on the metal rack, and I almost broke it off, so I soldered it on more tightly upstairs.  I put the rack behind the brass hat stand at the kitchen entrance.  I cut a piece of the cord protector 18 inches long, and I used it to cover the cord in front of the Ethan Allen recliner.  I put the rest in its box on the floor of the sweater closet in the hallway.  I cut the two pound London Broil into 1.5 inch chunks, and I ground it up in the Cuisine Art into hamburger, and I made five about 7 ounce hamburgers that I put in double baby carrots bags, and I froze them.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/23/09 Monday 8:30 A.M..  I made and ate the last of the cold beef with steamed vegetables and a glass of watered down passion punch.  I threw out the garbage.  I brought in the Crystal Rock water, and I left it outside a neighbor's door.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will shower and clean up, and I will go out and do some grocery shopping at the Stop and Shop.  The road and sidewalks are clear, and there is no black ice around here.  CIO

I might be able to afford the open box 150 model, but I am not sure it would have the range to the neighbors which is about 500 yards.  We tried buying wireless internet in the house in Maine, and the 2.4 MHz cordless telephones interfered with it, from what I remember.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/21/09 Saturday 11:35 A.M..  How do I know Greenwich, Connecticut business is down the tubes.  Well, the biggest business in Greenwich is real estate, then second automobiles, and then third the financial services industry, and if you can afford the time to watch television instead of trying to get lucky at Starbucks, the general consensus of the television media is that all three of those key businesses are down the tubes.  Word on the street is that the wholesale beer distributor in Port Chester, New York known as the Port Chester Beer distributors is doing better, but that might not be the case, since they have to compete with the wholesale prices at nearby Costco.  I did notice a Help Wanted sign at the top of Greenwich Avenue where Mike's barber shop use to be that now has a women's consignment shop for clothing.  It is printed fact that the Greenwich Hospital even lost $14 million last year.   CIO

Note: <888> 02/20/09 Friday 3:35 P.M..  I will now eat the same dinner at the last two nights.  There does not seem to be much happening, but we are still suppose to maintain normal routine whatever that may be.  The Senior British Diplomat that I know of here in Greenwich, Connecticut gave us strict instructions that we are suppose to keep doing what we do, and we are not suppose to know what goes on, and we are suppose to get hair cuts, when we can afford it, and we are suppose to stay focused.  The reason I occasionally listen to the British is that besides the fact that they speak English which is my native language, they seem to have a view point of the larger over all picture, which I frequently do not have even with the internet.  I also chatted with two relatives today and a friend.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/20/09 Friday 3:25 P.M..  I threw out the garbage and old periodical literature.  I watered the plants.  I was inspected by the Greenwich Housing Authority Section 8 inspector, and it all went well.  I went out, and I chatted with a neighbor.  I picked up my mail, and I chatted with other neighbors.  I guess I should try to do some regular computer work.  In these economically recessed times, there is not much use in trying to generate business on Main Street.  When I studied economics at www.lfc.edu three businesses were suppose to do well during recessions.  They were fast food restaurants, breweries, and movies.  Unfortunately I do not have any investment money to invest in anything anyway.  I am suppose to stay focused on my current activities, and I am not suppose to dwell too much on the past which is not suppose to be relevant today.  However, I am a firm believer in the old saying, "Man Who Does Not Read History is Bound to Repeat Himself."  CIO

Note: <888> 02/20/09 Friday 1:00 A.M..  I chatted with a relative, and I was awake at midnight.  I ate a 1/5th piece of cherry pie and a glass of watered down passion punch.  There are not too many people awake at night in Greenwich, Connecticut, because they think they are entitled to make money here, and one only makes money in the daytime, and not much happens at night.  I guess they are afraid of the dark out here.  Even in Manhattan there are not too many people awake last at night and in the early morning hours.  I have always found that I think better at night, since there are less distractions from the general public.  However, I do not tend to make any money at night.  When I use to cover Manhattan, the only people that I noticed making money at night were the currency futures traders at Citibank.  They use to have lunch in the early morning hours at the Brasserie in the basement of the Seagram's building.  Still, there is so little traffic around here at night, it is easier to move around.  I use to drive out with http://mikelouisscott.com/fred.htm and Helen Williams to Oyster Bay, Long Island during the early morning hours.  The A&P in Glen Cove, Long Island was opened 24 hours.  Also there use to be a Marathon Oil 24 hour gasoline station across the Queensboro Bridge just in Queens where Helen Williams could still get gasoline during the previous oil embargo.  I never noticed much automobile traffic in Manhattan at night.  Some trucks make deliveries.  They do a lot of maintenance at night, since it is too busy in the day time.  The www.un.org was always empty even in the daytime like they really did not do their jobs, except for when somebody important showed up.  Any location in Manhattan near a subway stop tends to be busier.  Of course a lot of city people do not drive cars, so they tend to walk a lot more which is healthier for one.  I have seen a lot of New York City people out here in the boon docks in Greenwich, Connecticut over the years, and they tend to come out on the train and walk around our downtown area, unaware of the larger suburban area that we are in.  Since a lot of suburban people have automobiles, they can move around easier in the suburbs.  The Lexus dealership in Greenwich, Connecticut is opened 24 hours 7 days a week, so if one has one of their cars, one can get it serviced at night.  I do not investigate Westchester County airport anymore, because they are overly security cautious out there after 911.  I do hear a few planes and jets coming and going.  www.netjets.com is out there, but that costs a lot of money.  In the old days, when I covered many pubs in Manhattan, the Ninth Circle had a curious group of people, but when I occasionally went out to J.F.K. airport, I noticed flight 009 was a high security flight on El Al to Tel Avis, Israel.  Besides Amsterdam and Antwerp, Tel Avis is also one of the major diamond trading capitals of the world.  Since Fred Von Mierers knew about those things, someone in one of those three locations might know where he is in the world.  My best guess, since Fred looked like Queen Margarithe of Denmark, he might have been Danish.  I do know he used a Danish coffee press to make his Viennese blend coffee every day, when ever he woke up.

I imagine somewhere in the area, there is somebody awake at night.  Remember on the busier side of the planet in the Eastern Hemisphere, they are just beginning to start there daytime schedules.  Most of the people I have met over the years were daytime people, and after hanging around me at night, they have gone back to daytime schedules, since it is too boring for them at night.

Of course some people in the public sector have to work at night.  When I was a Polaroid photographer, I once took a picture of a young African American boy sitting on the shoulders of a local college student in the Boston Commons.  If Polaroid had that picture, it might have been Obama, but in those days Polaroid pictures did not last too long.

Alfred Eisenstat use to use a Graphlix camera to photograph around Manhattan at night.  I would see him standing in the middle of a busy intersection in the middle of the street with camera set up on a tripod taking pictures at night.

Of course the government does not do much work at night anymore, since the daytime people control the budget.

A lot of night people think they are late night people when they stay up until midnight.  In the old days, they called this the Grave Yard shift.

Nobody seems interested in night work.  I think the Scott Library at York University on the north side of Toronto, Canada is opened 24 hours 7 days a week except Christmas, so somewhere in the world, there are people awake.  Of course the Scott library is next to a Royal Canadian Air Force base, and when I lived in Key West, Florida the same group of people were down there.  They also have an Adidas warehouse up there.  Whatever the Canadians do at night, they do not spend much time communicating with me since I am down south in the Greenwich, Connecticut area.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/19/09 Thursday 7:35 A.M..  I ate another 1/5th piece of cherry pie.  I installed the MaxBlaster 5 utilities.  I tried to make an image of my C: drive to the second partition, but it was 100 megs too small.  I tried to use the Vista utility to shrink the C: drive, but it only would shrink 300 megs for some odd reason.  I am using about 85 gigabytes of space.  I then did a Vista Complete PC backup from the C: drive to the second partition on the new hard drive.  Of course that backup would not be good, if the hard drive crashed.  I then saved the few changes to the second hard drive.  I researched www.seagate.com hard drives on the internet and www.chiefvalue.com has a 500 meg. IDE hard drive for about $80.  The Seagate hard drives are suppose to have a five year warranty.  Since I ordered the LAN external hard drive enclosure, I need to put a hard drive in there for backup, so the larger the better.  However, I do not know if the LAN external hard drive enclosure would work with Vista Complete PC backup to do a restore, since when it loads, it might not recognize the LAN drive.  There is an option to load drivers, so possibly they have already figured that out.  I know most people are using SATA hard drives not IDE, and Seagate makes a SATA and IDE hard drive combination, but that is more expensive.  My primary Vista computer does not have SATA capability, but I have an identical spare Gigabyte motherboard with SATA capability, and it is like the same one in the bedroom gigabyte computer.  There is a recession on, and the primary directive to stretch a dollar as far one can.  Thus I will probably be using the spare 320 gigabyte Maxtor hard drive for the LAN hard drive enclosure.  Thus until I order another hard drive, I will not have a spare one.  Well, it is time for me to rest.  I have to be up at noon, since I have a 3 P.M. appointment.  It is suppose to be sunny this afternoon.  The primary Vista computer seems to be running just great.

What I was writing when the hard drive failed is that Greenwich, Connecticut use to be part of New Amsterdam, and Stamford, Connecticut was part of the New Haven Colony.  The Dutch had a tradition of the Night Watch which use to be the fire brigade.  There are Dutch reform churches in Rye, New York and Terrytown, New York, and quite a few in Manhattan.  Also my mother's home town of Holland, Michigan has Hope College which is a Dutch Reform seminary.  The Rockefeller family in North Terrytown, New York are suppose to be of Dutch origins.  Their estate in North Terrytown is an old Dutch farm.  They are suppose to be a private family with some historical wealth.  However, since a lot of their resources were involved in Banking, they might not be as well off as they once were.  Somewhere over there they raise Swiss Dairy cows.  I do know you use to find their telephone numbers in the Social Register, but most of them work ordinary jobs in business, and they are not giving away dimes anymore.  Thus from what I know, they probably have cut back a bit like everyone else.  I once heard from a local business man here that when he visited the estate over there Happy was painting the park benches herself.  Since they have a large lawn to cut, I would be afraid to show up there, since they might mistake me for a gardener, and put me to work cutting the grass.  Well have a good morning.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/19/09 Thursday 3:35 A.M..  Backup done.  I checked with www.wdc.com , and under warranty under my no goods Western Digital hard drive serial number, they say the warranty on it expired on April 27, 2007, so it seems I only had a six month warranty on it.  They have an upgrade policy where, one does not have to return the old hard drive, and I can get a new IDE 500 gigabyte hard drive for $59 and $7 UPS shipping for $66 total.  I will probably do that, when I can afford it.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/19/09 Thursday 2:45 A.M..  I ate a 1/5th piece of cherry pie.

After that I was writing a web note about private Swiss Dairy farmers in this area, and my primary hard drive crashed.

Ths is the one that failed. Staples Circular Savings Western Digital® 160GB internal hard drive  and Western Digital 160GB Internal EIDE Hard Drive at Staples® and WD Caviar SE 160 GB EIDE Hard Drives ( WD1600JB ) for $64 with tax less $10 Staples rebate for $54 total bought November 2006

I think they have a three year warranty, so I will check out later about it.

I had two spare new Maxtor 320 gigabyte hard drives, so I installed Maxtor 300GB Ultra16 PATA Internal Hard Drive at Staples® for $49.99 and $3.01 tax and free shipping with over $50 order for $53 total, bought August 2, 2008, and installed February 19, 2009.  I will now backup the few changes.  CIO

I also cleaned the front air filter on the primary Vista computer.  I then restored my recent Vista Complete PC backup from the second hard drive.  Thus I have 149 gigabytes partitioned on the new hard drive, and 149 gigabyte unpartitioned.  I will leave it that way for now, since one can not restore to a smaller hard drive, so if it is smaller, I have that option.  I also had to reactivate Vista.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/18/09 Wednesday 10:15 P.M..  I ate 1/4th of a 5.5 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips with my dinner.  I chatted with a relative.  On the primary Vista computer, I changed the two cables leading from the video card by switching them on the two LCD monitors.  Thus the high definition television is now on the 22 inch LCD monitor.  I set both LCD displays to 1440 by 900 pixels at 75 MHz, and the system boots just fine.  However, I disabled the screen saver which in the previous settings caused the displays to switch around.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/18/09 Wednesday 8:10 P.M..  I finished the minor adjustments to the Epox computer, and I backed up the changes to the internal hard drives of both the Epox and the primary Vista computers.  I will now eat two hot dogs on buns with ketchup and mustard and a dill pickle slice and some watered down passion punch.  I made my bed earlier.  I will then shower and clean up.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/18/09 Wednesday 6:30 P.M..  I slept until 4 P.M..  I had a problem with the primary Vista computer, when it came out of screen saving mode, its monitors would not display properly.  I fixed this by putting the Visiontek ATI Radeon X1300 512 meg. video card in the primary Vista computer, and I put the ATI Radeon 9600 video card in the Epox computer.  The Visiontek card boots at higher resolutions too.  I set it the monitors to 75 MHz and 1280 X 1024 pixels.  I could set it higher, but I need to be able to see some of the detail on the screens.  I picked up my mail.  I will now set up the monitors on the three partitions on the Epox computer.  They both use the same drivers, so I do not need to change the drivers.  Current configuration is http://mikelouisscott.com/computer.htm .  CIO

Note: <888> 02/17/09 Tuesday 9:45 P.M..  I woke up at 8:30 A.M. this morning.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, a glass of 50% passion punch and 50% cold filtered water with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I restored the backup on the FIC server thinking there was something wrong with its web cam, but it was just unplugged, so it was not necessary to restore the backup.  I install the updates and changes, and I backed it up again.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I threw out the garbage.  The Greenwich Housing Authority large object garbage man had just retrieved the three 19 inch Dell monitors I threw out.  I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop.  I then went downtown, and I went by the Merry Go Round Mews Thrift Shop.  They have their clothes on sale for half price.  I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I stopped by CVS, and I read their store circular.  I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I chatted with a local Chinese American about the price of tea in China.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a yesterday's cherry pie for $3, a 16 ounce package of Stop and Shop white American cheese slices for $3.99, a top round Eye round roast for $3.99 a pound for $13.49, buy one get one free of 16 ounce Hormel bacon for $5.29 both, a two pound bag of baby carrots for $2.99, fresh Chiquita bananas for .67 a pound for $1.77, broccoli crowns for $1.99 a pound for $2.33, a five pound bag of Maine potatoes for $2.99, a 9 ounce tub of Stop and Shop sliced turkey for $2.50, and a 9 ounce tub of Stop and Shop sliced ham for $2.50 for $41.35 total.  I then returned home.  The mail had not arrived yet.

I put the new telescope and microscope kit underneath the right front of the bed.  I installed the Logitech web cam on both Dell Latitude CS laptop computers.  It works quite well, once one adjusts the focus ring.  I left it in its pouch behind the second Dell laptop.

I had a call today fund raising from the GOP.  I lost my temper which I normally do not.  When I booted the primary Vista computer, it would not boot for some odd reason.  I did a low level format, and I restored the backup, and it still would not boot.  I then selected F8 to boot the Last Good Configuration, and it booted up in a higher screen resolution.  In my setup, I can not set it to the highest screen resolution, so I set it at 1280 by 1024 pixels at 75 MHz, and the primary Vista system boots just fine now.  I then backed up the primary Vista computer with Complete PC backup from the first hard drive to the second hard drive.  It all reminds me about that old computer book, "The Ghost in the Machine".

I made up a batch of http://www.geocities.com/mikelscott/pbf.htm , and I ate it all with a glass of watered down passion punch.  I chatted with two relatives.  I am a bit tired, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  Have a good night.  We are suppose to have snow showers and rain tomorrow with a high of 37 degrees Fahrenheit.  Bon Soir.  I will go get the mail before I go to bed.  CIO

The order with tracking of UPS: Tracking Information on the order for Wolverine Flannel - Lined Shop Shirt, Men's Clothing, Wolverine at Bargain Outfitters in Olive 2XL less $5 off with coupon code "BF511" and $5.99 shipping for $20.96 total arrived about noon yesterday.   I hung it on the left side of the left living room closet.

First of all I fixed the problem that was causing the Primary Vista computer to freeze occasionally.  It was not caused by hacking from what I can tell.  The third PNY PC-3200 1 gigabyte memory strip was causing it to crash.  It is the same at the other two newer ones, but it was bought a couple of years earlier, so it might not be exactly the same.  I took it out, and I now only have 2 gigabytes of memory in the primary Vista computer.  I put it in the bedroom Gigabyte computer, so that one now has two gigabytes of memory.  The 256 meg memory chip I took out is on the lower right side board shelf in the bedroom.

I took the PNY AGP and PCI video cards out of the primary Vista computer, and I put in the ATI Radeon 9600 from the Abit computer.  I put the PNY AGP GeForce 6200 Video card in the Abit computer.  I put the PNY GeForce 6200 PCI video card in the bedroom Gigabyte computer.  I stored away the old PNY Mad Dog 64 meg. video card in a small box on the mahogany bureau.

I threw out three Dell 19 inch monitors.   I put the two Eizo 19 inch LCD monitors on the Epox computer.  I put another 19 inch LCD Eizo monitor on the bedroom gigabyte computer.  I put one of the year old Acer 19 inch LCD monitors on the FIC server, and I put another one on the Abit computer.  Thus the primary Vista computer now only has the 19 inch Acer LCD monitor on the left and the 22 inch Acer LCD monitor at the center.  I installed the drivers for all of the changes on the computers.  I installed the updates.  I did a Vista complete PC backup of the primary Vista computer from the first hard drive to the second hard drive and then to the Maxtor external hard drive.  I also backed up both partitions on the Abit computer to second hard drive.  It took a while, but the primary Vista computer runs just great, and it no longer freezes anymore.  I saved one Dell 20 inch CRT monitor on the floor in the bedroom closet.  I picked up the mail, when I threw out the monitors.  I used my small folding cart to move them.

My current computers' configuration is at http://mikelouisscott.com/computer.htm .  I have not changed the pictures yet.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/16/09 Monday 4:40 A.M..  On the primary Vista computer, I restored the Complete PC backup.  I then restored a few changes and updates.   I then uninstalled McAfee Internet Security Suite 2008.  I then rebooted, and I installed the Computer Associates Internet Security Suite.  It slowed my computer down too much, although it does seem to have better security.  Also I could not get Microsoft Money 2006 to work with it.  I then restored the McAfee Internet Security Suite 2008, and I installed a few updates and changes.  The Microsoft Money 2006 program still would not work, but it would work, when I logged into it off line, so there is something wrong with the Microsoft Money server.  I also lowered my four LCD monitors from 75 MHz to 60 MHz.  I also disabled the screen saver and the power saving features.  Well, I am back up running again.  I ate a ham and cheese sandwich on a Kaiser roll with a dill pickle slice and watered down passion punch.  I also ate about a dozen baby carrots.  CIO

I do not know if the newer model below can use a different USB cable or not, but the picture looks like it might not.  The other older model in Kennebunkport, Maine is the earlier model Xterasys XN-2133G Network Wireless Adaptor 54Mbps 802.11G Wireless LAN USB 2.0 Adapter.  It works quite well up there.

This newer model High-Gain 802.11b/g Wireless USB Adapter with Rotating Connector is on their web site, but there is no place to buy it on the internet, and it does not look like it will use a 15 foot USB cable either.  The older model is not available either.

Note: <888> 02/14/09 Saturday 10:55 P.M..  I ate the last of the cold beef in the same meal that I have eaten the last six nights.  If anyone needs to know about food catering in this area.  I know a little bit about it.  When I worked at the Languedoc in Nantucket, there used to be someone that looked like Nelson Rockefeller sitting on the patio across the street at the Jared Coffin House.  Bunny Mellon and Jackie O'Nassis occasionally had lunch at the Languedoc.  http://mikelouisscott.com/fred.htm use to work for Nelson Rockefeller, and he ate at the Isle of Capri, and Le Cirque in Manhattan.  He also bought his liquor at the liquor store just north of the British consulate.  He use to get his flowers from the wholesale flower market in Chelsea.  He bought his coffee from McNulty's on Christopher street.  The fresh croissants for breakfast came from the bakery at 49th street 2nd Avenue on the southeast corner.   There use to be a small Gristedes between the bakery and his apartment at 420 East 49th street.  There was the Greek coffee shop at Beekman Place and 50th street on the northeast corner.  There was the A&P at about 52nd street and 2nd Avenue on the southeast corner, and the Thieves Deli and produce stand just south of that.  He like eating at the Spring Street restaurant in SoHo too which served Dover Sole.  John Michael Barrett who worked there went on to become manager of Tavern on the Green in Central Park.  Fred also knew Buz King who was from Daytona, Florida that had a private catering business in the Beekman Place neighborhood.  He also got liquor for bigger parties Duty Free from the Mexican consulate around 67th street just east of Fifth Avenue.  He also knew Barbara Rockefeller, so I guess they got beef from Winthrop Rockefeller in Arkansas.  In Nantucket the trucks for the restaurants came from Sysco Foods out of Houston, Texas, S.S. Pearce, and Beatrice Foods, besides the local Mount Vernon and Bartlett Farms.  Of course in Nantucket there was also the A&P and the Grand Union along with Holdgates Fish Market.  Happy Rockefeller use to be seen eating at Mortimer's around Madison Avenue and 78th street on the southeast corner.  They also have a cafeteria at Rockefeller University.  Also the Rockefellers when they had more money in the 1920s were members of the Greenwich Country Club along with the Vanderbilts.  Also Scott Nelson who I know use to do catering at Pocantico Hills when he worked at the Chart House in Irvington, New York.  The bar in White Plains, New York where he use to hang out also had a custom made hot dog supplier.  I also once met Alexander Haig's personal chef there, and he worked at the Homestead restaurant in Belle, Haven, Connecticut, the night Richard Van Marter bought me New Years Eve dinner there for $200, on the same night Thomas Watson, Junior died.  I have eaten at most of the better restaurants in this area with Richard.  I always liked Chuck's Steak House in Darien, Connecticut, since it had good meat, and with its open air barbeque pit, it was a convenient place for a cigarette smoker to smoke too.  They have two more modern restaurants in Danbury, Connecticut, where I once sat next to the former president of www.monsanto.com .   Richard's nephew use to be gourmet butcher in Bedford, Hills, New York, before he went into the construction business in Crested Butte, Colorado.  Locally I shop at the downtown, Stop and Shop, because I am familiar with the store, and it is slightly cheaper than the A&P Fresh across the street.  I do not have much room storage in my small 450 square foot apartment, so I do not shop at Costco in Port Chester, New York.  Jimmy Eldert use to work as a bus boy at the India House on India Street in Nantucket.  I also worked at the Nantucket Bakery, the Sail Loft, Captain Toby's, the Gordon Folger, India House, and Henry's Bakery.  Myles McGough owned the Road House on Nantucket, but I did not know he was there.  I would drink after work at Preston's, the Chicken Box, the Mews, 40 Acres, the Atlantic Cafe, and the Club Car, but never at the Laundromat Bar, because that was where Jimmy drank.  Also Nantucket had the fried clam stand on the Steamboat Wharf road, for late night fast food.  John Bolton worked at Cumberland Farms way outside of town.  Alas, some of the restaurants in Nantucket never reported my Social Security along with John Bolton's Grandmother Vivian West, so I never got the maximum amount of Social Security just S.S.I..  I tried to get the local Social Security people to look into it, but they just gave me the run around.  Fred Von Mierers never paid me any Social Security or Salary, he would just let me use his office apartment, and he would take us out to dinner once a week, mostly for Fettuccini Alfredo and a glass of white wine at the Isle of Capri.  Fettuccini Alfredo is like the Italian Version of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.  When I stayed with Hurley Haywood at the Waldorf Towers in Manhattan back in February 1973 after I returned from Jacksonville, Florida via St. Thomas and Weston, Massachusetts, and possibly Toronto, Canada, where I visited George Cary, I saw the Duke of Windsor enter the Waldorf Towers from a private automobile.  However, Billy Baldwin looked like the Duke of Windsor, so maybe I had them confused.  I do know Billy Baldwin knew Cole Porter who also lived in the Waldorf Towers along with General Macarthur and his wife.  At President Bush's inaugural in 1991, my date was Admiral Halsey's daughter in law, whose husband was busy pulling horse trailers around Maryland.  Ian Greenshield the last thing he did was have me paint the trim on Admiral Halsey's house on the Polpis Road in Nantucket.  Ian and I would occasionally eat and drink at the "Brotherhood of Thieves" across the street from the Languedoc.  Ian's family owned Greenshield Investments in Montreal, Canada, and he had worked as a body guard for Jackie O'Nassis in Stowe, Vermont.  The Grennon's who owned part of the Languedoc had a house in Stowe, Vermont, and owned Sister Kate's there.  One brother was retired from the www.airforce.mil, and the other brother was the Chef at Lockober's in Boston at the Ritz Carlton.  Al Dukuna was also part owner, and he had a photographic memory for all of the various guest's names and likes and dislikes.  A lot of the staff were students including medical students.  On my days off, I use to eat a Roast beef sandwich on a Kaiser rolls with Bermuda onion, mayo, and Swiss cheese and pint of light cream from the deli at the A&P.  That would cost about $9 out in Nantucket until I left in December 1983.  Everything in Nantucket costs more because it has to be imported except for scallops and blue fish.  There are suppose to be a few lobsters in Madeket.  They also have large clams called Quahogs that they make chowder from.  In Florida I worked as a dishwasher at the best French restaurant Le Vielle Maison in Boca Raton for several months during the fall of 1978, before I went to Paradise Island, and I stayed with a British banker Richard Mercy and his cousin Romsey, and then after a brief trip through Fort Lauderdale, I returned to Key West, Florida, where John Bolton told me was the architect of the Casa Marina Hotel reconstruction project.  Alas they never paid any of my social security for all of the work I did down there too, but nobody knew who was in charge.  Jimmy Eldert who seemed to know more said it was a Giant Commune, and we would all share in the profits, once they got the island fixed up.  Back home in Greenwich, Connecticut, I am the head of my own commune.  By the way, the seventh of the eight high definition TV signal TV channels in the New York City area is a Russian News Channel, and as I recall the eighth was showing some sort of women's show with a lady in a Red Dress.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/14/09 Saturday 9:20 P.M..  I woke up about 3 P.M., when someone called up fund raising for the local police department.  I discussed some more serious issues besides the price of tea in China. I went outside, and I threw out some garbage.  I picked up the mail.

The order with tracking of USPS - Track & Confirm on the order for http://www.targus.com/us/tipconfigurator/default.aspx?region=1&cat=Notebook# , I ordered a Targus Tip #9 - 70W APT9 for $9.99 less 20% off with promo code "WIU0808" for $7.99 and $2 standard shipping for $9.99 total arrived.

I removed the old one from the primary Dell Latitude CS computer, and I put it with other Targus tips behind the primary laptop.  I put the new one on.  It seems to work better, but without the battery installed, it one puts upward pressure on it when connected directly to the laptop, it can still lose power, but it works better and good enough for normal use in the docking station, so I have done the best I can do with it for now, unless I replace its motherboard with the spare one arriving from Arlington, Texas soon.

I chatted with Brumos Motor Cars, Exclusively Mercedes-Benz in Jacksonville, FL Dealer New, Used Cars , and they gave me Hurley Haywood's two telephone numbers, but he could not remember whom I was, and he was busy with a party of about 50 people.  Apparently he won Daytona in a foreign car again.

I always liked the Mercedes 600 Limousine in that it was more comfortable for bigger people.  I guess we do not know any Germans around here involved in German Engineering.  Hurley is Norwegian, but he seems to know how to communicate with the Germans.

Since his family owns the Harris , they might still have money left from any profits that www.mcdonalds.com is now making during the recession.

I chatted with a neighbor about both the Capone and the Moran gangs living in Greenwich, Connecticut.  However, we also still have the Hatfields and the McCoys living here along with the Lees and the Grants.

I chatted with www.geico.com about the weather, and I told them about www.avo.alaksa.edu .  I was told about Defensive Driving Online Course from National Safety Council - nscddconline.com which if you complete online, one can get a $35 discount in one's GEICO insurance rate.  I will do it when I have time.

I chatted with a relative and a friend and a North American British Security official about the potential problem with Trans Atlantic Air Traffic if the Volcano Redoubt in Alaska erupts.  I happen to have met Queen Beatrice's Nephew Eric who lives in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and he was the copilot on www.klm.com the last time Redoubt erupted, when his new Boeing 747 www.boeing.com lost all four engines flying over the volcano.  He was able to recover and restart the engines, so he is still flying around the world delivering flowers for the Dutch.  Not that anyone ever needs flowers on St. Valentine's Day anymore.

I showered, and I cleaned up.  Not much seems to be happening here.  Where the Aquarium store use to be in Hartsdale, New York where I use to buy large Brazilian Angel Fish, before I got into computers, there is now a very large store there that sells artificial flowers for anyone with allergies.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/14/09 Saturday 5:40 A.M..  I ate the same dinner as the last four nights.  I was thinking it might be a good idea to put a Municipal Court in the new Greenwich, Connecticut police station, so the Town of Greenwich, Connecticut could make some money instead of Stamford, Connecticut.  I am a bit tired, so I will shut down the primary Vista computer soon.  Not much seems to be happening anymore now that we are no longer one of the current Presidential home towns of the many home towns that the Bush family seemed to have.  Of course if I ran for President I could probably come up with about 40 home towns, but Greenwich, Connecticut is where I have lived longest unknown to most of the general public whom seem to think I just came out here on the train 26 years ago, when like a lot of Greenwich, Connecticut people I know lived both in Manhattan, Nantucket, Florida, besides Greenwich along with a few other places that were a bit interesting.  I have frequently thought about applying for public housing in New Canaan, Connecticut where I have also lived, so I could have a quieter life in my senior years, but I figure since I am disabled, it is better to live near a good hospital than to have time to enjoy the scenic nature of Connecticut.  Besides, when I live in New Canaan, Connecticut the Mormons always hassle me, since I guess my family were in Illinois, when the Mormons were kicked out of Illinois for polygamy.  From what I know mostly there are quite a few southern families here besides families from the Midwest, so there are still probably a few people fighting the Civil War as they perceive it.  Nobody here seems to know much about what went on in the wars this century although they are veterans, they do not seem to have the entire historical picture, since Greenwich, Connecticut was in one of those areas infiltrated by potential spies, so there was different propaganda here than elsewhere in the country.  It is a rather quaint matter that although we are only about 20 miles from Manhattan, the Internal Revenue Service classifies us as a farm state, so when we file our income tax forms, they go Kansas City, Missouri CONNECTICUT - Where to File Addresses for Individual Taxpayers where I guess Harry Truman's Harry S. Truman - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and Tom Pendergast's Tom Pendergast - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia political machine rake in all of the money.  Well have a good morning.  It is suppose to be mostly a clear day with a high of 40 degrees Fahrenheit.  I guess I will be off in Dream Land most of the day.  Today is also the anniversary of the St. Valentine's Day massacre Saint Valentine's Day massacre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, so most of the local gangsters should hang low. CIO

Note: <888> 02/14/09 Saturday 3:30 A.M..   I ordered a Netgear SC101 Storage Center Network Attached LAN HDD Enclosure: SC101-100NAR JustDeals.com Inc. and SC101 - NETGEAR.com and with Vista SP1 you use this software http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/953 and http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/667 and more information http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/2537 for $19.95 and $6.95 shipping for $26.90 total.  I have two new spare Maxtor 320 gigabyte IDE hard drives that I can use with it, but I probably will only use one.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/14/09 Saturday 2:50 A.M..  My computer froze again when I was writing an email to a local computer person.  My best guess as to the problem is that someone or a group freezes my computer, if they do not like what I write.  It could be though the internet, but the government and Cablevision would know through the IP address, so they would have to be involved.  If it were not the government, it could be through the electricity with more advanced equipment or through the wireless keyboard in which case, it would be more than likely a local effort.  My question to the New Haven, Connecticut www.fbi.gov for the last few years, is "what is the motive for anyone bothering me, unless they are so ignorant about computer technology, that they really do not know that much considering their efforts."  CIO

Note: <888> 02/13/09 Friday 11:50 P.M..   I tested the high definition antenna on my television setup tonight.  I only get 8 channels half of which come in fuzzy.  As I remember, I get channels 7, 9, 13, 21, the Ion Channel which looks to be a movie channel, a Spanish language channel, and two other channels that I do not know what they were.  I returned the television setup to the Cablevision Digital Cable box.  For now I will be keeping the cable service.  Under the new Federal Budget, they are now not suppose to switch to Digital signals until June 2009.  I also turned off the power switch to the Digital antenna which power switch is part of its inline coupling that is behind the living room couch.

In the www.foxnews.com report on this plane wreck Search for answers begins in Buffalo plane crash - CNN.com , they said the propeller driven Embarcadero plane made in Canada was only certified to be flown in warm weather in the Caribbean, since its deicing equipment was not suited for colder weather.  Canada Embarcadero use to sell jets out of an office at Westchester Country or White Plains, New York airport.  I know the Aga Khan owned one of their jets.  According to Fox News, they started using the warmer weather propeller planes up north of to save on fuel costs, when jet fuel was too expensive.

Note: <888> 02/13/09 Friday 11:10 P.M..  I woke up at 2 P.M. this afternoon, when I had a no person telephone call or front door buzzer ring.

I faxed this story to an interested relative Greenwich hedge fund figures in Polaroid suit - Greenwich Time .  I threw out the garbage and the old periodical literature.  There is what looks like a broken 1999 45 inch Sony Trinitron television by the dumpster.  I chatted with neighbors.  I picked up the mail.  I chatted with a relative and two friends.

I installed the spare configured 4.8 Gigabyte IBM IDE hard drive in the Toshiba laptop.  I installed the updates, and I also installed the Logitech wireless cordless mouse on it.  It has about 1 gigabyte of space left on it.  I backed it up the Maxtor external hard drive.

I ate a ham and cheese sandwich with a dill pickle slice and a glass of watered down passion punch.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/13/09 Friday 4:30 A.M..  I made some routine calls to some night people.  Some of the newly unemployed might look into night work which nobody seems to want in this area.  Of course you have to be able to stay awake at night, and you have to be able to have an environment, where you can sleep in the daytime.  It is suppose to be a sunny day with a high of 36 degrees Fahrenheit.  From what I can tell, everything is pretty normal around here, with nothing unusual to report.  Most of the older people are probably reading books, since they can not be bothered with computers and the internet.  Have a good day.  We usually get a few Eskimos showing up here in the winter enjoying our warmer weather.  I ate the last 10 dried apricots of the open can.  I was thinking possibly with the new high definition television signals in this area, I might not want to pay the $82.32 a month for Digital Cable Television.  I have a Digital Antenna I could hook up to my television system in the apartment.  However, although my windows face west towards New York City, I have the opposite side of the building facing my windows, and it might interfere with the Digital Cable signals.  That would be a big savings, since recently I have been too busy to watch television, except for when I have breakfast.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/12/09 Thursday 7:45 P.M..  I woke up at noon.  I received a form from the Greenwich Housing Authority, and it was tell them when the air conditioning sleeve is put in with the new double pane windows, whether to put it in the bedroom or the living room.  I turned in the signed filled out form to the building custodian to install it in the living room center window.   I guess when ever they install the double pane windows this spring, I will have to move out of my apartment into the hallway, the oak dining table, dining table chairs, the recliner, the desk, the sofa, and possibly the Sony television and cabinets it sits on, and in the bedroom, I will have to move out the mahogany bureau by the window along with the oak shelf that sits on top of it.  I will also have to move a lot of smaller items.  Since I have no one to help me, I will have to probably rest a few days before I do that to build up my strength.  I chatted with an associate, a relative, a friend, and a diplomatic office.  I ate  ham and cheese sandwich on a Kaiser roll with a dill pickle slice and a glass of watered down passion punch.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  Well not much seems to be happening on a cold windy rainy day.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/12/09 Thursday 3:50 A.M..  From an electrician's point of view, golf is a game definitely redesigned to kill you.  Whom in their right mind would stand outside in an open field during the electrical storm season with a metal rod held up in the air and metal spikes on the bottom of their shoes to conduct the lightning bolt through you down into the ground, but plenty of people do it.  Of course today they use synthetic club handles and I think some sort of synthetic spikes, but they still are standing out in open fields such as in Florida which is the lightning capital of the Nation.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/12/09 Thursday 3:40 A.M..  Around the Country Club people, they use to drink Haig and Haig Scotch, and I even still have my Haig Ultra Golf Clubs, I got around 1960 in Decatur, Alabama, but I feel the wood in the woods is dried out and would crack if they were used, and I did have the leather handles replaced with rubber handles in the 1960s.  I still have my old DuPont white fake leather golf shoes and a new pair of tan Spalding golf shoes that I never used and my Naugehyde Burton Golf Bag from Jasper, Alabama, but the strap wore out of it a long time ago, so I wrapped a Greenwich Country Club towel around it.  As cheap as this town has gotten, they probably want to charge me for the towel after all of these years.   CIO

Note: <888> 02/12/09 Thursday 3:20 A.M..  My father always drank Jack Daniels on ice when he was rich, and when he working his way up the corporate latter, he drank Old Hickory whisky on ice with a bit of Canada Dry club soda water.  CIO

Probably one of the oldest products in the grocery store Lea and Perrins .

My branch of the Scott family is from Champaign, Illinois, so we might have seen the Lincolns from time to time when they traveled out of Springfield, Illinois.  However, Grandma Scott was a public school teacher, and she use to tell us that we were related to Winfield Scott who was from the Virginia branch of the Scott family which apparently were from Ireland.  My Dutch mother claims the Scott family tended to drink too much liquor.

I do know from the days, when I was permitted to be around people whom drank alcohol, that they use to drink a simple drink called a "Bloody Mary".

It basically is a tall glass or large tall oval shaped glass with or without ice with one jigger of Smirnoff Vodka, which is about 1.5 ounces, about 4 to 5 ounces of Hunts tomato juice, with ground black pepper on top to taste, a few dashes of McIllnney's Tabasco sauce TABASCO® Pepperfest - the hot, legendary pepper sauce! to taste, about a half to a whole teaspoon of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, a teaspoon of Gold's Hot horseradish sauce, and mixed not shaken, and in the summer in season they stick a stick of celery in it with the leaves still on it.  I once read in the local Kennebunkport, Maine weekly paper that was all the "Old Guard" drank after church on Sundays.  Since they seem to live a long time up there, it might be possibly healthy for you, if you are not using mechanized equipment such as a car.  For the years they came up with a lot of other Bloody Mary mixes and additives, but the original formula was probably the best.

I know around here the "Old Guard" drink Old Fashions which have Angostura Bitters in it, but I am not sure what else besides whisky.  CIO

I showered, and I cleaned up.

I went out, and I went by Radio Shack at the Cos Cob shopping center.  I returned the 3-Way Inline Coupler (White) - RadioShack.com for $7.69 and .46 tax for $8.15 returned credited back to my bank card.  I told them that Nantucket use to have a Radio Shack, were I bought the waterproof floating Panasonic radio back around the fall of 1978.  I think it cost me about $60.  I eventually exchanged it for a used windshield for my 1971 yellow Subaru wagon in Fort Lauderdale, Florida after a trip to California from Nantucket, where the windshield broke in Midland, Texas when the gasoline station attendant forgot to close the hood all of the way, when he checked my oil.

I next went to the new Cos Cob CVS which is less busy and very spacious.  I bought two buy one get one free of CVS 120 count 81. mg. baby aspirin for $3.99 both, and a bundle of 10 blue wash clothes for $4.99 and .30 tax for $13.27 total.

I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  The wine bar underneath Banker's Trust was having a party for Miller Motors showing the newest Aston Martin.  Who knows maybe James Bond is around.  I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I stopped by the downtown CVS, and I met the new manager.  He is trying to fix up the heavily trafficked store.  I then completed my walk.  Apparently the Greenwich schools are on winter holiday break.  I stopped by the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with some staff.  I then returned home.  I chatted with a relative wearing the new XG2500 ear piece telephone, and it works quite well.  One has to remember when answering with it at the computer to hit the switch beneath it for either Optimum or Verizon.  Optimum is A: and Verizon is B:.  I made and ate the same dinner as last night without the cherry pie.  I put three of the blue wash clothes in the kitchen, I left the other seven on the bathroom stand in front of the toilet for bathroom use.   CIO

Note: <888> 02/11/09 Wednesday 12:35 A.M..  I ate two cold 5/16th inch thick slices of medium rare cooked eye round of beef with a teaspoon of Gold's hot horseradish spread on each and a bit of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce on them along with my usual vegetable mixture and a glass of watered down passion punch.  My usual vegetable mixture is I put about .75 inches of water in a microwave proof plastic pot with lid, and I add one diced medium potato diced into about .33 inch cubes and about 10 baby carrots and about four broccoli sprigs, and I microwave it on four vegetable cycles, and I drain the hot water off, and I put the steamed vegetables in a bowl with a couple of teaspoons of olive oil on them.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/10/09 Tuesday 11:30 P.M..  For dinner last night, I also ate a piece of cherry pie with two scoops of sugar free cool whip.  I also chatted with a relative.  I worked with the Nvidia GEForce 6200 video drivers for several hours, and the newest version definitely will not install on a system with both the AGP and PCI video cards for Nvidia GeForce 6200 installed.  The second card keeps the first card from booting.  I tried other drivers that worked, but my system seemed like it had been corrupted, so I restored the new install backup from December 4, 2008.  I then updated the files and any changes.  I then backed it up the second hard drive and then the Maxtor external hard drive, all of which took until noon today.  I also restored the backup on the FIC server and updated the changes.  However, the primary Vista computer is once again stable for now.

I ate a ham and cheese sandwich on a Kaiser roll with 1/4th of a 5.5 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips and dill pickle slice and a glass of iced tea.

About 10 A.M., UPS delivered the order with tracking of UPS: Tracking Information on the order for Labtec Pulse 485 Max-X 2.1 PC Speakers w/Subwoofer -NEW - eBay (item 310119327828 end time Feb-01-09 18:32:48 PST) for $5.50 and $14.95 shipping for $20.45 total.

I slept until 5:30 P.M. from 10 A.M. except for turning off the computer after the final backup.  I cancelled my 3 P.M. appointment today.

I showered, and I cleaned up.

I installed the Labtec speakers on the Abit computer in the living room.  I moved the pair of generic Jensen speakers to the bedroom window with the other pair of generic speakers connected to the bedroom Gigabyte computer.

I went out, and I went by the Stop and Shop.  I bought two 10 ounce bottles of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce for $3.39 each and two 6 ounce bottles of Gold's Hot Horseradish for $1.59 each for $9.96 total.

I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I used the bathroom at the Senior and the Arts Center.  I stopped by CVS, and I bought a plastic shoe box size box storage box with lid for $2.79 and a 100 yards of CVS mint dental floss for $2.29 and .30 tax for $5.38 total.  I then finished my walk.  I noticed Credit Suisse was entertaining downtown.  They have an office at the top of Greenwich Avenue.  I then drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road.  I then returned home.  I will use the plastic storage box for some undetermined purpose in the future.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/09/09 Monday 7:05 P.M..  I woke up during the night, and I ate a half of a 8.5 ounce box of reduced fat Triscuits.  I also ate 10 dried apricots.  I finally woke up at noon today. I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went out, and I went by the Chase Bank just west of Greenwich Avenue.  I used the ATM machine there, and I did some other banking business.  I then went by the Wachovia Bank on Havemayer Place, and I paid my rent to the Greenwich Housing Authority.  I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I toured the front area of CVS.  It was not too busy downtown during these economically depressed times.  I next went by the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with a staff member and a local user.  I then went by the Greenwich Automotive Services Gulf Station, and I bought $6 of self service premium for $2.559 a gallon for 2.344 gallons for at odometer reading of 62158 miles for 27.1 miles driving since I last got gasoline 11 days ago for 11.5614 miles per gallon.  I cleaned the outside of my windows, and I checked the tire air for 32 PSI.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought two half gallons of Florida Natural orange juice with calcium for $3 each, a top round eye round roast for $3.99 a pound for $13.29, two pounds of baby carrots for $2.99, and fresh Chiquita bananas for .64 a pound for $1.43 for $23.71 total.  I then returned home.  I brought up purchases, and I picked up my mail.

DELL LATITUDE DOCKING STATON C PORT ll - eBay (item 360080143544 end time Feb-12-09 15:37:28 PST) for $10 and $8 shipping for $18 total for $56 all together arrived.

I put the new Dell 7012 battery in the second Dell Latitude CS laptop computer.  I put my older Dell Docking station with it, and I put the new Dell Docking station with the primary Dell Latitude CS laptop computer.  The new battery is taking a charge.  I threw out the packing material.  I moved my car to its usual place, which I like, since when I park there, we tend to have warmer weather.  I moved a CompUSA mouse pad to the left side of the second Dell laptop, and I put a yellow plastic mouse pad on the right side of the primary Vista computer.  The plastic mouse pads tend not to work as well, since they are hard and too smooth.

I will now season the eye round roast with garlic powder, ground black pepper, Italian seasoning, and A1 Bulls Eye barbeque sauce.  I put it on a baking rack in a baking pan and bake it at 350 degrees Fahrenheit in the Sharp convection oven for 40 minutes for medium rare.  I will eat two 3/8th inch thick slices with my usual vegetable mixture and a glass of watered down passion punch.  I will refrigerate the rest of the beef for slices of cold beef for the next few days meals which I eat with Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, if I remember to buy it tomorrow, when I go out weather permitting.  CIO

Well, not much happening in Greenwitch, Connecticut.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and read some more about the history of the Welcome to the National Security Agency - NSA/CSS in James Branford's book "Body of Secrets".  From my viewpoint, the government a'int telling us the truth, and for that matter they a'int ever told us the truth.  Just a bunch of old men in Washington D.C. drinking tax free liquor from my viewpoint.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/08/09 Sunday 10:25 P.M..  I chatted with a relative.  With the colder weather in this area this winter, it should kill more of the deer ticks, so this summer we should have less Lyme disease.  I made and ate the same dinner and desert as the last five nights.  I did a Vista Complete PC backup of the primary Vista computer from the first hard drive to the second hard drive, and then I did one to the Maxtor external hard drive.  I also freed up some disk space on the primary Vista computer C: drive.  I chatted with a relative.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/08/09 Sunday 6:40 P.M..  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I threw out the garbage.  I walked around the building.  I put away my laundry.  I chatted with neighbors.  I ate two hot dogs with buns and mustard and ketchup and a dill pickle slice and 1/4th of a 5.5 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips and a glass of watered down passion punch.

Yesterday, I moved the LAN cable from the FIC server to the Netgear FR114P router which had a spare port instead of running it off the Netgear FS116 Switch.  Thus when not using the computers on the network, but just running the FIC server, I can turn off the Network Switch from the Control Panel.  With the Network Switch turned off the primary Vista computer still froze, which would mean it is not a hacker or network problem.  I have had the problem in the past caused by Nvidia GEForce 6200 drivers for Vista.  I uninstalled the October 2008 version, and I installed January 9, 2009 version, and the computer would not boot.  I then did a Safe Boot, and I uninstalled that version of the Nvidia drivers.  As I recall, I did not have a problem with the XP Nvidia Driver http://mikelouisscott.com/nvidia-old/ "93.71_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql.exe"  for GEForce 6200 version 6.14.10.9371 dated October 22 , 2006, so I installed those drivers and program.  The computer has not frozen yet.  There has been a lot of discussion about Nvidia drivers for Vista not being up to snuff by the general internet community.  Since I used a Nvidia GEForce 6200 AGP and PCI video cards that support my four LCD monitors, I also have a more unique setup.  Well let's hope they work.  I should know soon enough.

The old XP Nvidia drivers are posted here http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_archive.html , and the driver I am using for the two GEForce 6200 AGP and PCI cards is posted here ForceWare Windows XP/2000 32-bit

I have stored the 2.5 inch external USB case and the used configured 4.6 gigabyte 2.5 inch IDE drive on the second shelf of the left bookcase behind the Sony television in the living room.

Note: <888> 02/06/09 Friday 5:45 P.M..  I woke up at 1 P.M..  I chatted with a relative. I threw out the garbage and the old periodical literature.  I watered the plants.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I did an XP Professional ASR backup of the primary Dell computer to the Maxtor external hard drive.  I am now doing an XP Professional ASR backup of the second Dell laptop to the Maxtor external hard drive.  Possibly it would work as a restore with XP Professional ASR, since one can hot swap the external CD drive with the external floppy drive.  I went downstairs and outside several times.  I moved my car to its usual location.  I chatted with neighbors and the building custodian.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/06/09 Friday 7:20 A.M..  When I partitioned the new hard drive, I also made it active in disk manager after I cloned it.  I had a problem getting the primary Dell Latitude CS laptop computer to recognized the larger hard drive in the BIOS.  It would freeze when I opened the BIOS.  I was able to get around that by booting the BIOS Update utility from the floppy with the hard drive installed and reflashing it.  However, it still freezes when one opens the BIOS, but after setting the BIOS setting with the new hard drive out of the computer, it boots normally, except one can not enter the BIOS which is normally not necessary, but one can when the hard drive is taken out of the laptop, which entailed removing two small screws.  Thus I now have 72 gigabytes of free space on the primary Dell Latitude CS and 3 gigabyte of free space on the secondary Dell Latitude CS.  I will not install the configured 7 gigabyte hard drive in the Toshiba laptop, since it only has 400 megs of free space which is all the Toshiba has now.  I will keep it as a spare configured to have in case of a hard drive failure on the secondary laptop.  The new 2.5 inch IDE 80 gigabyte Seagate hard drive has a five year warranty.  I threw out the garbage.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer.  I will eat an untoasted English muffin.  I will then go to bed.  Have a good day.  Stay Warm.  It is 15 degrees Fahrenheit outside.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/06/09 Friday 1:35 A.M..  I have 22 minutes to go on making the clone on the primary Dell laptop.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/06/09 Friday 1:20 A.M..  My January 2009 electricity bill at www.cl-p.com was $160.06 of which I have already paid $90, with the rest paid by my energy assistance grant.  That amount is without using the electric heat except for a few times, when I turned on the DeLonghi oil filled radiators.  It also should be the lower night time rate.

That is for 28 days at rate 5 delivery, when the average temperature in January 2009 here in Greenwich, Connecticut was 24.5 degrees Fahrenheit down from last January 2008, when it was 34.7 degrees Fahrenheit, so this past month was 10.2 degrees Fahrenheit colder on average than last year.

The actual usage was 802 kWh or 28.64 kWh per day versus a year ago when it was 949 kWh or 33.89 kWh per day and the amount was $167.44, when I also was not using the electric heat, so it is slightly lower bill on the night time rate with the colder winter.  However, I do not have the air conditioner installed this winter, so it is probably warmer in the apartment without it installed.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/05/09 Thursday 11:15 P.M..  The night before last, I ate 10 dried apricots.  Last night I ate 15 dried apricots and a untoasted English muffin.   I chatted with a friend at 8 A.M. this morning.  I woke up at noon. I chatted with a relative.  I moved the Dipole FM antenna to the Zenith shortwave radio shortwave antenna connection with the Dipole FM antenna attached to the ceiling above it, but I still get no shortwave signal.  I put the powered FM antenna on the Leadtek TV card FM connector.

FREE Radio has shortwave radio, so maybe somewhere out in the world, there is still shortwave.   I was told by the staff at Radio Shack in Cos Cob, they had eliminated shortwave signals with the internet commonly available today.

I chatted with a friend and a relative.  I chatted with the Casa Marina Key West Hotel Resorts & Florida Keys Beach Accommodations - Casa Marina Resort Key West in Key West, Florida, and they are quite busy, but they think it is cold down there.  They do not have heat in their hotel down there.   Their Reach Resort in Key West, Florida has heat.  I was cold at night in the winter down there too back in the 1970s.

I picked up the mail.  Around 6 P.M., the order with tracking of UPS: Tracking Information on the order for 80 GB 2.5" Seagate LD25.2 5400RPM ATA Hard Drive with 2MB Cache - New with 5 Year Seagate Warranty. (SEAST980210ALD) http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Seagate/ST980210ALD/ for $39.99 and $4.99 UPS ground shipping for $44.98 total arrived.  I put it in the  2.5" Black Aluminum Enclosure Case with IDE to USB 2.0 Interface by SABRENT .  The primary Dell Latitude CS laptop computer, only recognizes it with the docking station USB 1.0 ports, and with the Seagate Disk wizard program installed, it installs the needed driver for XP.  However, the Seagate Disk wizard program does not recognized the Seagate hard drive as a Seagate hard drive, so you can not use the Seagate Disk wizard program to clone the new hard drive.  I am using the free copy of DriveImage XML DriveImage XML Backup Software to clone the new hard drive from the primary hard drive.  Since the Dell Latitude CS laptop computer only has USB 1.0 ports, it is taking about 5 hours to copy the 7 gigabytes of files.  I have three hours to go.  Basically one uses the Drive to Drive  Copy process, and when one gets the error message at first, one chooses to ignore it, and the program then proceeds to clone the second new hard drive.  After I finish cloning the new drive, I will put it in the primary Dell laptop, and I will move its smaller 10 gigabyte hard drive to the second Dell laptop, and I will move its smaller 4.7 gigabyte hard drive to the Toshiba laptop.

I made and ate the same dinner at last night.  I also made up a fresh batch of passion punch.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/05/09 Thursday 2:50 A.M..   Well it is currently 3 degrees Fahrenheit in Champaign, Illinois, so it tends to be warmer out here in Greenwich, Connecticut at 11 degrees Fahrenheit.  I guess that is why there are so many people from the Midwest down in Florida this time of year.  However it is minus 8 degrees Fahrenheit in Kennebunkport, Maine.    It is a miserable 53 degrees Fahrenheit in Key West, Florida.  In Montreal, Quebec, Canada it is 1 degree Fahrenheit.  In beautiful Toronto, Ontario, Canada it is zero Degrees Fahrenheit, so I guess that is why so many people are down south where ever it is warmer.  In Laguna Beach, California, it is 62 degrees Fahrenheit.  In Washington D.C. where they ran out of money, it is 19 degrees Fahrenheit.  Well, I am a bit tired, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  If my rent statement comes in the mail later on today, I will try to pay it at the Wachovia Bank on Havemeyer Place tomorrow which is opened late until 6 P.M..  Stay Warm.  I think the richest private people go to Lyford Cay in the Bahamas Lyford Cay Club - Log In  or St. Barts, St Barts, St Barths, St. Barth, Saint Barthelemy, French West Indies , but as one gets older despite one's income, it is better to live near major medical complexes.  I do not need any witch doctors helping me to quit smoking cigarettes.  CIO

I then went by the Radioshack at the Cos Cob shopping plaza, and I bought a Dipole FM Antenna - RadioShack.com for $6.99 and a 3-Way Inline Coupler (White) - RadioShack.com for $7.69 and a 90% off clearance item a Red NIKKO America - American Tuners - 16th Corvette C6 for $2.97 and a $1.06 tax for $18.71 total.  I then toured the Fjord Fisheries fish monger next door.  I then checked back at Radio Shack, and they did not have a Dipole FM antenna with a coaxial connector, but I remembered that I had a coaxial adapter at home, so it did not matter.

I then went by the Stop and Shop.  I bought a six pack of day old Kaiser rolls for $1.25, a half gallon of Minute Maid Premium orange juice for $2.50, a dozen extra large eggs expire March 6, 2009 for $2.50, a pound of Stop and Shop sliced American cheese for $4.99 a pound for $5.36, 1.5 pounds of Stop and Shop sliced Virginia ham for $4.99 a pound for $7.58, a 12 ounce bottle of GV honey for $1.99, a 32 ounce jar of Hellmann's low fat mayonnaise for $4.49, a 24 ounce bottle of Heinz ketchup for $2.50, a quart jar of Vlassic Kosher dill pickle slices for $3.19, a 8 ounce box of Nabisco Triscuit crackers for $2.50, three 48 ounce containers of Ocean Spray cranberry juice for $5 all, three 64 ounce containers of Stop and Shop Concorde grape juice for $2.50 each, two 48 ounce containers of Quaker Old Fashioned oatmeal for $4.99 each, a package of four double boneless breasts of chicken for $1.79 a pound for $7.89, a two pound bag of baby carrots for $2.99, a two pound bag of yellow onions for $1.99, fresh green Chiquita bananas for .64 a pound for $2.05, broccoli crowns at $1.79 a pound for $2.22, a bulb of garlic for $2.99 a pound for .51, and a 5 pound bag of Maine potatoes for $2.99  for $76.87 total.  I then returned home, and I brought up my purchases with my folding cart that I brought with me, and I picked up the mail, and I put everything away.  I connected the Dipole FM antenna with the coaxial adapter to the Leadtek TV car on the Abit computer, so the FM radio on the Leadtek TV card now works.  I strung the ends of the FM Dipole antenna from the ceiling.  I tried the small screw light bulb, but it did not work in the map light on the Zenith shortwave radio, so I put it by the magnifying glass on the center bookcase that uses a similar bulb.  I chatted with a relative.  I put the little Red Corvette on the right hallway bookcase shelf.   CIO

Note: <888> 02/04/09 Wednesday 2:10 A.M..  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.   I will munch on an untoasted English muffin before going to bed.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/04/09 Wednesday 1:35 A.M..  There are suppose to be snow showers and flurries until 5 P.M. today, so I might not make it to the grocery store, and they are calling for more flurries on Thursday.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/04/09 Wednesday 1:30 A.M..  I fiddled with the Zenith shortwave radio.  I put the internet antenna on FM and the external powered antenna on Shortwave Ground, but I still get no shortwave reception.  With the internal antenna on Shortwave, I get a bit of static and that is about it.  Possibly shortwave radio no longer exists anymore.  CIO

for $9.36 and $12.99 shipping less $5.52 shipping discount and $1.01 sales tax for $17.84 total arrived.

I put the tooth brush holder on the left rear of the bathroom sink.  It has bigger holes to hold larger handle toothbrushes.  I put the two ornate hand towels on the back side top of the French reproduction chair over the sheep skin with the ornate fringe showing.  I put the black shower curtain rings on the rack above the toilet tank.  I might install them the next time I clean the shower curtain and liner. I chatted with a relative.  I showered, and I clean up.  I picked up the mail.  I got a Christmas card from George and Barbara Bush in Houston, Texas.  They look quite happy and healthy in their Christmas card photo.  I took down the Plexiglas frame with Prince Charles and William and Harry that was hanging by the toilet, and I put the George and Barbara Bush photo in it, and I hung it on the top side left inside of the apartment entrance door.  I moved the hanging plate of St. Paul's church in Manhattan from that location, and I put it with the other two hanging plates by the toilet.  I threw out the garbage.  By 2 P.M., it was starting to snow.  I worked on the Zenith shortwave radio.  It works just fine, but one has to have the stereo headset plugged into it for its speaker and stereo headset to work.  I set it up that way with a stereo headphone jack many years ago, because there was a problem with the speaker.  It is a 1961 Zenith Trans Oceanic shortwave radio.  I set it up on the right side of the Northgate Syntax monitor, and I also plugged a powered auxiliary antenna into it for better reception besides the fixed expandable antenna.  It needs a screw thread flash light bulb for the display chart light.  It has very good reception, but at around 4 P.M. in the afternoon, I only got AM and FM channels, and there were none of the other channels including shortwave channels and weather channels and marine channels, so perhaps with the internet, they do not use those channels anymore.  I will have to test it later at night some time, when the reception is better.  Earlier I chatted with a friend.  I think the reason George Cary is able to get around so easy in upstate New York in the winter is that when I first knew him, he told me he was neighbors in East Aurora, New York of Bobby Goodyear, so perhaps he has good winter tires.  I chatted with a friend in eastern Connecticut who had a relative pass away in Daytona, Florida.  I used www.google.com to help him find two lost relatives, so he could notify them, and then I text messaged his cell phone, so he could possibly find them.  Also Google searches lead to other search engines that cost money.

The upper left LCD monitor works fine, but its menu display panel does not show up on the screen, but off the screen in the far upper right.  I can not figure out why that happens.  However, I have it set on Auto, so it is not a problem.  I microwaved and ate a 21 ounce Stouffer's beef lasagna, which I put grated parmesan and Romano cheese on, and I ate it with a glass of watered down passion punch.   I chatted with a relative.   CIO

Note: <888> 02/03/09 Tuesday 1:45 A.M..  According to my Weather Pulse Program Weather Pulse, weather software, we are suppose to have snow showers until 3 P.M. tomorrow with snow until midnight and a low on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning of 11 degrees Fahrenheit, so I doubt if I will be doing my first of the month grocery shopping later on today.  I have plenty of food in the apartment, so I will survive another winter event.  I have lived through worse periods of snow, when I was more active.  However in the good old days when Chemstrand made Nylon for Harvey Firestone's tires, we could afford winter snow and ice tires, and we frequently drove in snowy conditions.  Today, since I only have 1/4th of an inch to possibly 3/8ths of an inch tread on my Audi's Michelin tires from Melbourne, Florida that are now made in Greenville, South Carolina, I do not think it is advisable to drive during snowy or icy conditions, so I am spending much more time at home this winter.  The National Weather Service a'int telling us much National Weather Service Watch Warning Advisory Summary .  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  Stay warm.  The good news is an interested relative might buy me new tires this coming summer, when I am up in Kennebunkport, Maine.  Alas, although Connecticut is known for the www.navy.mil in New London, Connecticut, they also have a few people attached to the www.un.org in the Manhattan area of New York City, New York, U.S.A..  Possibly they serve in various diplomatic capacities, but from my viewpoint is mostly routine maintenance.  Of course New York City people can use public transportation 24 hours a day unlike us simpler people in the country whom have to rely on our own transportation, particularly since I have been on a night schedule for about 75% of the time since 1965.  When I see a sunny day, I usually think it is a solar flare or some other cosmic event.  The only 24 hour library I know of is the Scott library at York University just outside north of Toronto, Canada, and since they are near Niagara Falls with their generating capacity, they can afford to keep the lights on.  Unfortunately my idiot friend from East Aurora, New York is mostly a daytime person since he works around horses, so he does not have my same perspective.  You can always find people awake in Manhattan at night, but I can not guarantee their state of sobriety.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/02/09 Monday 11:45 P.M..  I ate the last 1/5th piece of blueberry pie with the low calorie Cool Whip.  I changed the four calendars in the apartment on February 1 to February 2009.  The February 2009 National Geographic Scotland Calendar shows a picture of the newer Sterling Bridge.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/02/09 Monday 7:05 P.M..  I woke up last night, and I ate a 24 Bremer crackers with 1/16th inch thick by 1.25 inch by 1.25 inch slices of Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese, and I finished off eating a dozen low fat Cheez-it crackers that I had left.  Besides having my lower right rear molar chip whichs needs a crown, the gold crown on the lower left rear of my mouth is now causing me a small bit of pain, so I need to look into a local dentist that takes the State of Connecticut Medicaid.  I woke up at 11 A.M. this morning.  The order from www.ordersmokesdirect.com for 6 cartons of King Mountain Ultra Lights 100s in a box arrived.

The DC Power Jack Dell LATITUDE CPx CPxH CPxJ CS CSR CSX - eBay (item 300268251805 end time Feb-19-09 20:06:42 PST) for $4.99 with free shipping arrived.  I put it in its shipping envelope on top of the spare motherboards on top of the cabinet on top of the side board in the bedroom.

I picked up the mail, and I threw out the garbage.  The $20 rebate check on the McAfee Internet Security Suite 2009 3 license copy arrived, so it only cost me $8. I chatted with a relative.  I showered, and I clean up.

I went out, and I went by the new Chase Bank just west of Greenwich Avenue.  I deposited my $20 McAfee rebate check.  I was able to leave the facility by going out the rear entrance via the Pickwick Towers street, but there is not traffic light there just a stop sign, but it is easier there to get back on Putnam Avenue at the top of Greenwich Avenue with its traffic light, if you watch the traffic.

I chatted with a local walker.  I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I mailed the January 2009 Microsoft Money 2006 report to an interested relative at the central Greenwich Post Office.  I stopped by CVS, and I bought two boxes of CVS 20 quart size zip lock bags for $2.79 and 50% off for the second for $1.39 and a 12 roll bundle of CVS recycled toilet paper for $5.99 and .61 tax for $10.78 total.  I used the ATM machine at the Chase Bank at the top of Greenwich Avenue.

I finished my walk on the economically depressed Greenwich Avenue.  The Borders book store has gone out of business, and there are some other shops that went out of business.

The new Presbyterian Church is still at the top of Greenwich Avenue.

I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with some of the staff.  It is now a bit busier than normal with all of the unemployed people trying to keep busy.  I checked out the book by James Bamford, "Body of Secrets".

I was told by the local walker that it is suppose to snow tomorrow Greenwich, Connecticut (06830) Conditions & Forecast : Weather Underground and National Weather Service Watch Warning Advisory Summary , but it says there is a chance we might not get it.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/01/09 Sunday 10:45 P.M..   Well not much happening here in Greenwich, Alaska.  It is suppose to get colder again and warm up next Sunday like it did today.  If the volcano in Alaska erupts, more than likely it will make it colder here sooner or later.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  Stay warm.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/01/09 Sunday 8:40 P.M..  I watched the travel channel report on the ten best beach resorts in Mexico.  The only problem with going to Mexico is that they are still under Napoleonic Law, so if they charge you with a crime, you are guilty until proven innocent.  I chatted with a relative.  I ate a 1/5th piece of blueberry pie with some low calorie Cool Whip.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/01/09 Sunday 6:30 P.M..  I put away the laundry.  I changed the monitor cables on the primary Vista computer, so the right two monitors are on the AGP card and the left two monitors are on the PCI video card.  Hopefully that will stop the BBC Adobe Flash Player in http://news.bbc.co.uk/  from freezing the computer.  I was thinking about going out for a walk, but with the Super Bowl on television, more than likely I would be out there all by myself, and it probably would be boring to go out right now, so I will stay in for the evening and work on the computer.  CIO

Note: <888> 02/01/09 Sunday 12:45 A.M..  Earlier I ate a 1/5th piece of blueberry pie and the last few Danish cookies and some watered down passion punch.  I tested the primary Dell Latitude CS computer down in the front lobby, and it worked at first, but then it lost the signal.  There are a half dozen wireless signals in the building, so maybe they are interfering with each other.  I watched some television.  I will now print out my January 2009 Microsoft Money 2006 monthly report, and I will get one copy ready to mail to an interested relative.  I will then shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  Stay warm.  CIO
