04/30/18 Monday 6:55 A.M. I watched a youtube video of Buckingham Palace and another on Queen Elizabeth II. I went outside twice. I reheated a large portion of the Cajun Spanish rice with about an eighth of a cup of water mixed into it and heated in the microwave oven for five minutes in a Rubbermaid container with lid. I also ate it with a large bowl of the cabbage mixture with six yellow cherry tomatoes and 7 red cherry tomatoes. I ate it all with a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com Zero Sugar Coke. 04/30/18 Monday 12:50 A.M. Back in the summer of 1976, when I was camping out on Fair Grounds Road out at www.nantucket.net with a few hippies from Vermont, I made $20 cash for three potato sacks of quohogs that I picked out of the water at Madaket with my toes. It is sort of like picking up golf balls in a lake with one's toes. Back in April 1977, when I returned to Nantucket from my adventures in south Florida weighing 125 pounds after losing 50 pounds in the warmer climate, I could make $50 for a five gallon pale of sea scallops opened which is quite hard work opening and hard on the hands. Of course to get the sea scallops one needs a fishing boat with a dredge, and possibly an ice house on the wharf in Nantucket to keep one's catch fresh. I guess Nantucket has become more modern from what little I know. Charlie Sayles would sell quohog chowder for a lot of money. Also out in Nantucket this time of year, they have to start getting the summer facilities ready for the tourist season. Once fifty people showed up on the wharf to open up the "Sail Loft" bar and restaurant over two days. They used to serve beer from all around the world. Nantucket does not get busy until the third week of June when www.harvard.edu graduates and the other Boston schools. They used to have a sail boat race from Kennebunkport to Nantucket too. Of course out in Nantucket, nobody really knew what was going on in the old days. A lot of people in the winter would make Light Ship baskets too which are very expensive. Basically around the first of December some unknown group of people show up out on Nantucket run off all of the summer people. The http://www.ack.net/ was our sole source of information. The locals here use the relatively short warmer period to get ready for another longer colder period. 04/29/18 Sunday 8:55 A.M. I went outside, and I gave my neighbors a long morning briefing. I drank a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com zero sugar. I guess since I am legally disabled according to the Greenwich Hospital authorities, what ever I say or do, you have to take with a grain of salt. However, I do have a bit more experience than the hoards of people whom just stay home in the Hinterlands and watch television. However, in my American English interpretation of events, I only have studied French in high school for five years and Latin in high school for six years. I was actually much better in mathematics and science. I did say hello to a young fellow from France last night, so maybe there are other people here from France. I am once again burning the candle at both ends, and sooner or later I will burn out. In resorts which I have lived at the past; Mondays and Tuesdays are the days off, since resort people are quite busy on weekends, when it is much busier. I actually do know something about the hospitality business. However, the big shots in this area mostly look at the bottom line. If one does not like Greenwich, Connecticut; one can study the Rockefeller business environment over nearby in White Plains, New York. They might be doing something over there that we do not know anything about over here. I do know that there is so much traffic over there, one risks their car to drive all of the way over there. From what I know, there is usually wall to wall traffic in the day time all of the way up to Hartford, Connecticut. The easiest way to escape the every day reality in the United States of America, if one has a valid passport is to simply take the Amtrak train from Manhattan up to Toronto, Ontario, Canada and walk around in the cooler refreshing air. Canadians are very polite to people whom have money, but I have read stories about homeless people in Canada which are not too encouraging. In England, they call it "Sleeping Rough"; which a lot of northern people seem to do. I think if one ever joins some sort of military for job training, one has to learn to spend a lot of time out of doors for basic military training. When one is out of doors a lot of time, one feels like one is on a sail boat crossing a vast ocean. In the more modern world, they have experienced social welfare people whom check out on the general welfare of the less fortunate people amongst us. Because I have always learned to keep busy and am still relatively young at age 68, I am beginning to enjoy the warmer weather. However, as a Nordic person; the warmer weather makes me sleepier, until I install my air conditioners around the first or second week of May. I think they are somewhat irritated at me for not having some sort of travelers aid here in town like they do at major airports, but on a limited disability income, I can only chat from experience. Thus I can not post a picture of the orchids at Winston Florists. I only have a couple of pictures on my Iphone of the ice sculpture in front of the senior and the arts center this past winter at some holiday event. 04/29/18 Sunday 12:50 A.M. I went downtown. I stopped by the Acme grocery store, and I toured it. I bought a onion bagel with seeds for .69 and 50 can return for .19 total. I then went downtown to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue. I sat out for a while across the street. I then went into CVS, and I bought four 120 tablet CVS Glucosamine Chondroitin with MSM double strength for 75% off for $7.94 each and a $4 off CVS internet coupon for $27.76 total. I then sat outside across the street some more. I then drove down to the Board of Education parking lot. I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue. I sat out at various locations. I took some pictures of he orchids in the front window of Winston Florist. The tulips in front in front of Restoration Hardware store and the veterans monument across the street from the Senior and the Arts center have at least a week before they come out. I chatted with a visitor from Tenafly, New Jersey. It was another relatively slow night on Greenwich Avenue. A few pub crawlers and that is about it. The East End restaurant pub down on the bottom of Greenwich Avenue on the left seems to be quite lively with "Millennials". After my walk, I returned home. I sat outside again. I chatted with a neighbor. Once again the apartment lights were left on by someone, when I had deliberately turned them off. I have a larger than network of friends and associates, so somebody must know what is going on here, when I am about. Plenty of police see me, when I am downtown on Greenwich Avenue; so possibly they know. It just so happens to be in the Constitution of the United States of America that the United States Military can not use civilians personal property without paying for it. However, the United States government can commandeer any problem, if they deem fit, but they are supposed to pay for it. I will now go outside again. CIO

04/27/18 Friday 10:40 P.M. I drank a cup of coffee with Equal sweetener and milk outside. They have a whole lot of daffodils and jonquils blooming outside of the J.P. Morgan www.chase.com building across the street from the Greenwich Library. Once Helen Kress Williams told me that during World War II, if we were invaded by the Germans, they planned to plant poison ivy around all of the churches. Also if Washington D.C. were invaded by some foreign power, instead of having the Pentagon to defend it, it might be cheaper to spread sheep manure around the White House and the Mall. Sheep manure stinks so badly, nobody would hang around. Also one ends up with a really nice lawn the following year with all of the grass seed in sheep manure. CIO

Even though I live about hundred yards into the border of New England with New Amsterdam, I never venture into New Amsterdam, although I am half Dutch American, since it is extremely expensive in New Amsterdam. I read a few years ago that the Dutch did not fight with the English for control of New Amsterdam, but instead the Dutch West Indies Company sold New Amsterdam to the British in exchange for Dutch Guiana. Nobody really does not know too much about what the Dutch do here, but there are probably a few around here whom are not yet pushing up tulips. I also read that after World War II, the Dutch had a lot of refugees. The Dutch people of color from their colonies settled in the United States of America, and the white Dutch people from their homeland settled in Canada; so there might be some Dutch communities up there in Canada. However, Canada is such a big area, they might be hard to find. The even have a windmill out in www.nantucket.net , so maybe there are a few Dutch people there. Half of the Netherlands is below sea level, so the Dutch are experts are reclaiming low lying land. I will now go outside again. CIO

04/27/18 Friday 1:35 A.M. I got out my Cuisine Art. I used the shredding blade, and I shredded the four pound cabbage, and I put it in a large yellow plastic mixing bowl. I added a drained 26 ounce jar of Kosher dill pickles that I diced. I seasoned it generously with celery salt, Lowry's seasoned salt, paprika, oregano, and red cayenne pepper. I added about six ounces of Grey Poupon whole grain Dijon mustard and twenty ounces of Hellmann's mayonnaise and a cup of white vinegar. I mixed it all together. I am letting it sit on the counter for a while. It is my version of pickled cabbage. I will now go outside and throw out the garbage. CIO

I signed three pages of forms from the Greenwich Housing Authority before I left, and I put them in an addressed envelope with postage, and I mailed the envelope at the central Greenwich Post Office. I then sat out in the park across the street from www.cvs.com . I chatted with a relative. I then used the bathroom at CVS. I picked up a prescription at CVS. I then sat out some more across the street. I then drove down to the Board of Education parking lot. I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue. I sat out at various locations. At Zyn Stationary, I bought an Ace's High scratch card for a dollar, and I won $4 for a $3 profit. I then used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I then chatted about my history with a Starbucks regular. I used the ATM machine at the www.chase.com bank on the north side of Saks Fifth Avenue. Saks Fifth Avenue is remodeling their store on the street level. I then toured CVS again. There is a new clothing store going in on the south side of Grannick's Pharmacy. I sat out for a while after my walk. I then went by the Stop at 161 West Putnam Avenue. I bought two bananas for .49 a pound for .48 and a head of cabbage for .69 a pound for $2.81 for $3.29 total. Thus basically I won a head of cabbage and one banana downtown. I then returned home, and I chatted with neighbors outside. On the way home, I saw a fire truck heading towards Glenville Road, and I could smell smoke in our parking lot in Byram. I put away my purchases. I filed this report. I will now go outside again. 04/26/18 Thursday 4:30 A.M. I am now on the sixth and final brown rice cycle. Fred Von Mierer's old apartment at 420 East 49th Street was two blocks north of the www.ford.com Foundation which takes up a whole block. One of Fred's long time friends was Joe MacDonald. Since Henry Ford's first wife was Anne MacDonald Ford that might have been the connection. Another one of Fred's friends from Greenwich, Connecticut was George Nichols who was the assistant editor of the www.nytimes.com . Of course in the period from October 1973 to February 1975, when I was around Fred's $150 a month rent controlled apartment at 420 East 49th Street; he had several hundred thousand dollars of antiques in it, so I had to keep a close eye on it. He later got rid of the antiques, and moved into the same building on East 54th Street on the East side of First Avenue where Joe MacDonald lived. Also Ema MacDonald lived there. Her family had the land grant for Western Canada. Noel Coward lived there. Ted Kennedy had an apartment there. Bobby Fink who lived above an Episcopal church on East 52nd Street nearby also introduced me to twins Michael and Louis from England who also had a big pent house in the same building on East 54th Street. Thus I would say the people in that neighborhood are well networked. Walter Cronkite lived nearby on Sutton Place and Johnny Carson lived on Beekman Place. Most of the buildings east of Second Avenue from 49th street down to 42nd street are in the publishing business. Also Tudor City is also in that neighborhood. CIO
04/26/18 Thursday 3:40 A.M. When I went into Manhattan with a friend during February after 911, I first went to Church at the Presbyterian Church at Madison Avenue and 74th Street, where the United States Navy www.navy.mil glee club was doing a concert. We then met up with two other friends and toured the Metropolitan Museum, and then we had lunch at the Central Park boat basin. When toured the Frick Collection. After that we toured the https://asiasociety.org/ . We tried to look at the lobby of the www.ibm.com building at 57th Street and Madison Avenue, but the whole area had a lot of security, because the G8 Summit was going on at the Waldorf Astoria. We had dinner at a Chinese restaurant just south of Grand Central Station on Park Avenue. We toured the Campbell apartment at Grand Central Station. Once we got back uptown walking, we left the city in my friend's car that we parked on East 84th Street just east of the Metropolitan Museum. It was quite a busy day. My Manhattan friends had museum passes, so we did not have to pay for the museums. I will now go outside again. CIO

It says here https://www.metmuseum.org/visit/updated-admissions-policy-faq , it now costs $17 for a senior citizen over 65 years of age to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Also from Greenwich, Connecticut; there would be about a round trip $20 metro north fare and probably a $3 round trip Madison and Fifth Avenue bus fare, which I can not afford. Back in the period from 1973 to 1982, when I visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art regularly dressed in my old $100 Brooks Brothers grey tweed suit which I have out grown, it was only a suggested donation, so I would give them a nickel. I also had a few connection. Since Fred Mierers knew Nelson Rockefeller, and since Jerry Ford was from Grand Rapids, Michigan near Holland, Michigan that was one connection. Nelson Rockefeller donated the Michael Rockefeller African Art wing. Also I knew Charlie Engelhard's daughter whom donated the Engelhard court yard, where one used to be able to smoke cigarettes. I knew Helen Kress Williams whom donated the Kress collection. I knew Mark Schaffer whom I went to college with at www.lfc.edu who donated the Schaffer furniture collection. A relative of mine knew also knew a relative of the Astors. Also I probably saw Caroline Kennedy there all of the time who lived across the street and volunteered there. Also I knew the Watson family in Greenwich whom donated the Watson Art Library there. Also the last time I visited there during the February after 911, one of the volunteer security guards in the Rembrandt room looked like Steve www.forbes.com . Thus I had a few connections for my nickel. Possibly some corporations that I was familiar with also donated some money. A friend of mine out here in the boon docks of Connecticut also grew up next to Helen Clay Frick in Bedford, New York who had the https://www.frick.org/ . I only visited the https://www.moma.org/ a couple of times for openings, and I met Mark Hamilton who was serving wine there. I think I only visited the https://www.guggenheim.org/ twice. I stored the lose zip lock bag in a white garbage bag in the center lower cabinet. I cleaned off the right kitchen counter area with Lysol 4 in 1 cleaner. I used the bathroom at www.cvs.com . I bought a 18 ounce Tilex Mold and Mildew remover for $6.29, two 16 ounce jars of Stop and Shop dry roasted peanuts for $2.49 each, for 75% off four .8 ounce Petal Plug vanilla sugar refills for $1.49 each, and another Petal Plug fragrance device for $1.74 at 75% off and .89 tax for $19.86 total. I then finished my walk. I sat out for a while. I then went by the Acme grocery store, and I bought a 42 ounce container of Smart Balance spread for $6.49. I then used the bathroom at CVS. I picked up a prescription. I then sat out in the Jaycee park some more. I then drove down to the Board of Education parking lot. I then walked most of the entire length of Greenwich Avenue at far north as CVS. I sat out at various locations. I chatted with a Starbucks regular. I told him the last interview I saw on American television with Prince Charles, he was very excited about growing cabbages in Scotland. A former German neighbor here told me the Germans and Russians during World War II lived on cabbages, so maybe we should grow more cabbages. I chatted outside with another Starbucks regular. On the way up Greenwich Avenue, I sat out in the little park again. I have noticed what looks like two stores leaving upper Greenwich Avenue, and one coming in or going. I toured CVS again looking for bargains. For 75% off, I bought a Petal Plug electric fragrance diffuser for $1.74, three .8 ounce cinnamon and glove refills and three .8 ounce linen refills for $1.49 each and .68 tax for $11.36 total. I then walked back down to Starbucks, and I used the bathroom again. I sat out for a while longer. I then went by the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought three reduced produce packages of cheery tomatoes two red and one yellow for $1.39, $1.45, $1.49 and a 5 ounce package of Stop and Shop cheese and garlic croutons for $1.39 and bananas for .49 a pound for .48 for $6.20 total. I then returned home. I sat out briefly. I filed this report. I will now go outside again. A local resident told me, they now a Buddhist temple in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. CIO

The fire department investigated and could not find the cause of the small. Possibly a stray cat or possum snuck into the building and died. CIO

I then drove further downtown to the Board of Education Parking lot. I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue. I sat out at various locations. I tried to chat with a couple of visitors and locals, but they were mostly oblivious to me. I was asked about how to get to New Jersey, and I did not know if the Tappan Zee Bridge was yet finished. When I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com , I was told by two Greenwich Police officers that the Tappan Zee bridge was not yet finished. I toured CVS again. On the way down Greenwich Avenue, I used the bathroom at CVS. I sat out for a while after my walk. I then used the bathroom at Starbucks. I then walked lower Greenwich Avenue again. It was dead slow out with hardly anything happening. A local told me the Tappan Zee bridge was finished. I then tried to go by Whole Foods, but it was closing. I went by CVS at 644 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought for 75% off two CVS Fish Oil 1000 mg 250 soft gels for $4.69 each for $9.38 total. I then returned home. I sat outside. A neighbor told me that the Tappan Zee bridge was only half finished. I then returned to my apartment. For some reason, my living room lights were turned on, when I distinctly remember turning them off, when I left the apartment. I then filed this report. 04/22/18 Sunday 4:25 P.M. I went outside, and I chatted with my neighbors. I washed the breakfast dishes. I made my bed. They do not allow me downtown anymore until after 5 P.M., when all of the so called respectable people go back home to have cocktails and watch television and have dinner. Possibly when I can afford an extra dollar in gasoline I could venture down to the High Security area on Steamboat Road to see what is actually going on down by our waterfront. They do not like me down there, because I speak English. However, I am always welcome at Grass Island. I will now throw out the garbage. I will then shower and clean up. I will then go downtown to Greenwich Avenue to see the remains of the day. My family when they lived in Greenwich, Connecticut used to have the front row pew at the old Round Hill Community Church, and another family member used to attend the Second Congregational Church, when we lived closer to downtown Greenwich. After traveling a bit of the world, I have seen a bit of different churches, and quite a few people know me as a well known Christian Protestant. However, a lot of church goers do now have Christian educations, so they just think it is a nice peaceful place to attend a community service. However, being on a mostly night time schedule since 1965, there are not many church services at night, so I am left looking at the moon and the stars or television depending on the local weather and just walking around in circles. The planet earth goes around in circles rotating in circles and all its inhabitants do nothing but move around in various circles. CIO

I then bought an Ace's High scratch card at Zyn Stationary for a dollar, and I lost. I chatted with somebody there from Jamaica. I then sat out in front of the Belgium bakery. I chatted with a local computer person that looks a bit like Prince Charles, but is bigger. I chatted with a younger person from Bates College in Maine that also looks like Prince Charles. I chatted with a couple from India about the Aga Khan, Volcanoes, and Computers. I chatted with a family from Trinity College in Ireland about the Irish in this area, and Boston and Nantucket and about Amherst College. I then chatted with a Starbucks regular. I then sat outside for a long time chatting with another Starbucks regular. I then used the bathroom at Starbucks. I then went by the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought two 10.5 ounce cans of Campbell's French Onion Soup for $2.19 each and a package of old green zucchini for $1.38 for $5.76 total. I then returned home, and I sat outside briefly. I then filed this report. I will now go outside into our local tundra. There is a crescent moon recently, which think is the symbol on some flags of a few countries. CIO

04/20/18 Friday 10:30 P.M. I went downtown to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue. I chatted with a tall man from Greece. He told me that King Constantine of Greece once lived here. For 75% off I bought a CVS Basil Digital Thermometer for $4.99 and .32 tax for $5.31 total. I chatted with a local restaurant owner who is thinking of renting the building across the street from CVS on the north side of the Jaysee Park for another restaurant. I drove down to the Board of Education parking lot. I walked lower Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations. I chatted with a local at www.starbucks.com . There were a lot of people dining on lower Greenwich Avenue. I chatted with the same local at Starbucks after my walk. I used the bathroom at Starbucks. I then went by the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue. I bought a head of Foxy Cello iceberg lettuce for $1.69 and .55 can return for $1.14 total. I put the head of lettuce in the car. I then went back inside the Stop and Shop. I chatted about ice hockey with a fellow wearing a Chicago Black Hawks tee shirt. I bought a 12 ounce bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce for $2. I then went by the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $14.01 of self service V-Power premium gasoline for $3.699 a gallon with a dime a gallon off with my Stop and Shop card for 3.787 gallons for at odometer reading of 116956 miles for 40.2 miles driven since Saturday April 7, 2018 for 10.616 miles per gallon in local traffic. 04/20/18 Friday 5:10 A.M. I mailed the Nielsen radio survey in the mail room downstairs. I did not listen to any radio in the past week. The only friend that visited me regularly in the past 34 years I have been back in Greenwich until nine years ago grew up in Bedford, New York next to Helen Clay Frick; so he knew a lot of people in this area. He is from one of the founding Dutch families in New York that started the Hudson Bay Company and Citibank, so he has a lot of established family and friends. His family's old house in Bedford now belongs to Andrew Cuomo. They sold it because there was too much noise on I-684; when it was built. He served two years in the www.army.mil during Viet Nam at Fort Devans and at a military base in Louisiana as an Adjutant; so he can be organized, when he is not drinking or working. He knows this area quite well. He drove me over to www.usma.edu a few times, and once we attended Sunday Church service there. In front of us was a young cadet with the Eisenhower look; if one is familiar with that look. He knew Bill Weld quite well. He is an expert hunter and marksman. He sold his 200 acre farm in Great Barrington, Massachusetts to John Chambers of www.cisco.com , so John could protect his property nearby. When we went to Switzerland in 1992 on a side trip to the Albertville, France Olympics; he took me to the gun sore there where Henry Kissinger buys all of his guns. What confused me, since he told me he had never been to Switzerland; how did he know the exact location of the gun store in Geneva, if he had never been there. When I once talked with his older brother who was one of Richard Nixon's Camp David Marine guards, his older brother told me, he lies a lot; so I do not know the real truth. He now tells me his volunteering with the veterans hospital at West Haven, Connecticut. I have only seen him once in nine years. He has modest wealth to network with people; but not the big wealth that we read about today. Thus he would probably be considered "Old Guard", if one know the really meaning of the term. His mothers was one of the pioneers of communication with AT&T and his father was also in the Army Air Corps and a successful business person. 04/20/18 Friday 2:35 A.M. I took the Kitchen Aid 12 cup coffee machine off the bread box at the kitchen entrance, and I stored it underneath the bedroom desk. Nobody ever visits for coffee, so I do not need it for now, and I can always put it out if coffee is needed to be served. I cleaned the Rowenta four slice toaster, and I put it on top of the bread box at the kitchen entrance. I removed the pine chair from the kitchen, and I put it at far end of the oak dining table. I move the smaller oak chair from the far end of the oak dining table to the near end of the oak dining table. I removed the food from the white wire rack on the far left of the kitchen, and I stored the white wire rack on top of the living room air conditioner underneath the living room window sill. Once I install the living room air conditioner, the white wire rack could be use to place an item or two. I moved the food that was on the white wire rack. I put the Cuisine Art underneath the small oak table at the kitchen entrance with the stored rice. I put the various cereals in the cabinet above the stove. I moved the liquids, crackers, and cookies and other food items to the far left lower kitchen cabinet. I put the jellies and salad dressing and other items in the blue book case on the left side. I also moved the throw rugs around to make it look neater. Thus the kitchen is more open, and even the General Electric stove could be used if need be. I gave away my turkey roaster pan with cover to a neighbor a year ago. I still have the broiling pan in the rear lower part of the left lower kitchen cabinet. I also have a smaller broiling pan in the far right pan storage compartment lower cabinet. In my Town of Greenwich Social Worker copy from the Greenwich Housing Authority Section 8 inspector, they said the kitchen cabinets should not be blocked. However, when the chair is in the kitchen it is a very secure location, since it is surrounded by brick walls except the kitchen entrance. However in a security situation, one could easily move the smaller oak chair into the kitchen if need be and watch television from there on the kitchen television. I went outside again. CIO

He also owned the Road House bar on Fair Grounds Road in Nantucket. He also lived in Mar Largo in Palm Beach, where Donald Trump also lives. He once called me up ten years ago wanting to start an ink jet and toner cartridge company, but after two telephone calls, he went to a non published telephone number. He told me he did business deals all over South America. However, there is some confusion as to whether he is still alive or passed away, since other people have similar names. He also owned a dairy farm in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. CIO
04/19/18 Thursday 10:55 P.M. I cleaned up the refrigerator in the kitchen. I will now go outside in the very cold damp weather to blow cigar cigarette smoke into the wind. The richest person that I knew in Key West, when I lived there from what I knew was a member of the Dupont family. However, Bloomberg News says Jim Eldert's grandmother's Joy family are supposed to be worth three quarters of a trillion dollars. Also neighbors of my family in Greenwich who were members of the Rockefeller family also were down in Key West, so there are probably other wealthy people down there enjoying the warmer weather. However a lot of the Greenwich people also live in Vero Beach at the John's Island Club and on the West Coast at Boca Grande. My family used to also own a quarter acre lot next to the Greenwich Warburg family in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Retired people tend to down size, when the money quits coming in. However, it is the nature of Florida, people could be anywhere. CIO
04/19/18 Thursday 9:25 P.M. I drank my coffee outside in the bone chilling cold weather. I chatted with neighbors. I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made my bed. I found what looks like a cigarette butt in my apartment by the bathroom door, and it was a piece of grass that looks like tobacco remains. I found the mold in my kitchen, and it is a half inch by two inch strip of mold by the spice rack stand on the left side on the kitchen counter. I will clean it up shortly. 04/19/18 Thursday 8:05 P.M. I woke up at 1:30 P.M.. I chatted with my Town of Greenwich Social Worker. I was told that I had failed the Section 8 inspection, and I would be getting a letter to that effect which I have not yet gotten. My Town of Greenwich Social Worker is showing up this Monday afternoon at 1:30 P.M. with a fire marshal to inspect my apartment. The fire inspector looked at it a month ago, and said it was fine. They need something in writing to that effect from the Fire Marshall. Also my social worker told me I have to clean my refrigerator and I do not see it, but supposedly there is mold on my kitchen counter which I will have to look for. While the Section 8 inspector was inspecting my apartment I just sat in the living room with my social worker. My social worker claims the section 8 inspector found a cigarette butt in the apartment and photographed it. I have not smoked in my apartment for about 3.5 years. The section 8 inspector was in my bedroom for about 20 minutes doing something. My new www.hoover.com vacuum cleaner was moved for some odd reason. Possibly the section 8 inspector looked in my left side night stand or photographed my three page telephone number list. I do not know. The Section 8 inspector never tells me anything, so I do not know anything but what my Town of Greenwich Social Worker tells me. My Town of Greenwich Social Worker tells me the Section 8 inspector is doing this to everyone, because as the landlords the Greenwich Housing Authority can be fined $50,000 by HUD if they do not inspect properly. I went outside twice. I chatted with the building Social Worker about it. I went back to bed. I woke up at 6:30 P.M.. I chatted with a relative twice. I went outside twice. I picked up my mail. I bought an Ace's High scratch card at Zyn Stationary, and I won $2 for a dollar profit. I toured CVS again, and I used the bathroom at CVS. After my walk, I sat out for a while, and I used the bathroom again at Starbucks. I gave a visitor from the Bronx a cigar cigarette, and he told me he saw a relative of mine on East 59th street in Manhattan today. I can not figure out whom that would be. I then drove over to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue. The Greenwich Housing Authority Section 8 inspector arrived at about 2:40 P.M. and inspected the apartment. It was suggested that I clean the inside of the refrigerator, clean some mold around the kitchen counter. It was also suggested that I remove the bookcase inside the left kitchen entrance containing spare food. I guess I could get rid of the emergency water and put the spare food in the bookcase at the front side right of the kitchen entrance. I signed a letter that the three smoke detectors work. I was told that I would receive a letter from the Greenwich Housing Authority about the inspection. I was also told the LAN cables coming out of the net switch look like a fire hazard which they definitely are not, since they are extremely low voltage. I went outside, and I chatted with neighbors. I will now eat a bowl of the reheated Cajun Spanish rice with a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com Zero Sugar. I will then go downtown to Green Witchy Avenue to see the remains of the day. I then drove down to the Board of Education Parking lot, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. I sat out at various locations. At the Greenwich Cigar store, I bought an Ace's High scratch card for a dollar, and I won a free card that I lost on. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I told a young fellow with a pack of bicycle playing cards how to mark them. I chatted with a relative. I toured CVS again. I bought a 18.25 ounce can whole lightly salted cashew nuts for $7.99. I chatted with a regular walker. I chatted with a Starbucks regular after my walk. I used the bathroom at Starbucks. I then went by the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue. I bought a head of Foxy cello iceberg lettuce for $1.69 and two 2.25 ounce cans of Pearl sliced black olives for $1.50 each for $4.69 total. I chatted with a local. I noticed they have bone in New York Rib Eye steaks for $4.99 a pound, but they only had one package of two left for about $15 that were very thick. I can not eat steaks because of my cholesterol problem and cooking meat also stinks up the apartment. I then bought a ten quart box of Stop and Shop powered milk for $12.19 total. 04/14/18 Saturday 11:20 P.M. I ate the last of the flavored pineapple mixture, a small bowl of honey roasted peanuts, and 3.5 ounces of garlic and cheese Texas Toast croutons with a glass of cold filtered water. Apparently a lot of the wealthier local residents are now drinking bottled water in Greenwich, Connecticut; since a lot of people think there is something wrong with our local water supply causing intestinal problems. Other people think it might be the local meat supply. We still have plenty of food here if one has wampum. I was told that my diabetes level is way too high at 197, when it should be below 100. I am now drinking one third of a glass of juice or about four ounces with 8 ounce of water at breakfast, and I still use jelly on my toasted English muffins and sliced bananas on my oatmeal, and that is about the only sugar I get, but it is still way too high. I will now go outside in the high wind. With all of the rich middle eastern people who occasionally show up in this area, they have different customs in the Middle East. Nobody ever pays the listed price in the Middle East, but they always haggle or bargain over the lowest price. Also with all of the rich Norwegians, since Norway is a rich socialist country with high taxes everyone is economically the same, so Norwegians do not tip. CIO

After my walk, I sat out for a while. They were in the process of installing a nice big equestrian iron statue in front of the senior and the arts center. I then went by the Stop and Shop. I bought buy one pound box of Campari tomatoes get one free for $2.99 and two bananas for .49 a pound for .35 for $3.34 total. I then got .40 can return in cash. I then went across the street to the Acme grocery store, and I bought two 32 ounce bags of Lundberg Heirloom organic brown long grain rice for $6.93 each and three five inch buckets of tulips for $5 all and .32 tax for $19.30 total. I then returned home. I sat outside for a while. I then picked up the mail. I put away my purchases. I put the tulips on the Lazy Susan on the oak dining table. I will now go out outside again. CIO

There is a new barber shop on the second floor of lower Greenwich Avenue just south of where the old Subway sandwich shop used to be. There is a new store going in a half dozen stores south of the old Ralph Lauren store. 04/10/18 Tuesday 7:00 P.M. I ate a bowl of honey roasted peanuts. I watched some of the Facebook Mark Zuckerberg testimony. As I recall sometime around 1992 to 1994, when I first got on the internet in 1992 with Netcom telephone connection, when America Online was the primary internet provider in the country, I found a small new program call Instant Messenger that work with AOL. I emailed the developer about how good of a program it was, and as I recall it might have been the young Mark Zuckerberg before he went to www.harvard.edu . That was in the same time that the Beagle Brother Software company used to hang out around the pier on Steamboat Road with a view of Thomas Watson Junior's former house in Belle Haven. I can not recall if I heard back from him or not. I did at that time get two emails from mailto:billg@microsoft.com when I emailed him about the NASA satellite that could x-ray a volcano or mountain wandering what it was about. The second email was in PGP encryption which I could not decode. I might have one of both of those emails in my stored files, but they only would work with the free Qualcom email program that I used back then which would save the email in some sort of other format. I also heard once of twice from Tim Berners Lee while he was teaching at www.mit.edu , and he encouraged me to keep up my internet directory. Of course a lot has changed since then. I figured that www.ibm.com was the giant around here, so more than likely some other people were doing something in computers. I basically ended up doing a lot of Microsoft beta testing for a long time and of course with all of the systems errors or blue screen back then, I started blogging or keeping a log of my activity. Alas it never lead to anything for me but more expenses on a limited income. I am still usiing the 2002 edition of Microsoft FrontPage for this blog that I bought at the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop back then for $20. I could use Microsoft Word 2007 for it, but it has been my experience with HTML files in Microsoft Word 2007 that one can not ftp upload them until one closes them out in the Microsoft Word 2007 program, which I found a nuisance. I learned to type around 1966 on an IBM Selectric at the Eastern Middle Summer School in Greenwich. The son of a famous Greenwich politician was also in my typing class and a classmate at the Greenwich Country Day School. CIO

I put a foot long coaxial cable on the back of each cable box output, and I connected gold coaxial splitters to each box, and then I ran a coaxial cable from the living room cable box to the Vizio coaxial input; so now it works on two channels split screen. One can change the sound between channels by pressing the Switch button in the lower right side of the Vizio remote control. I also ran a coaxial cable from the bedroom cable box to the Insignia television coaxial input, so one can switch the inputs on the big screen Insignia televisions to see either cable box. I will now go outside again. CIO
04/07/18 Saturday 5:40 A.M. I fiddle with some of the televisions' settings. I could change the living room cable box connection in the bedroom from the Westinghouse TV to the Vizio TV, so it has two cable boxes for picture in picture. Then I could put the bedroom coaxial cable on the Westinghouse TV, but I think it is better to have each bedroom television with different HDMI cable box connections. Two TVs on two different channels is better than picture in picture. Also the living room Haier TV has the bedroom cable box HDMI connection and the living room cable coaxial connection, but it does not have picture in picture. If one gets really picky, I could put the Vizio television in the living room to have two big screen televisions, but that is not necessary since the Ethan Allen recliner and the Queen chair are only a few feet away from the Haier TV. Sometimes the big shots from the country club set down south come up north with all of their wampum from their southern adventures after the Augusta Golf tournament. Of course some of them wait around down south half way up north until after the Kentucky Derby. That is what one calls following the Azalea Trail up north as it begins to warm up and change with the seasons. Of course the Cherry Blossoms are out in Washington D.C. which some people like to see. It seems to be a bit cooler up north this year for this time of year, but maybe it is that I am getting older about to turn 68 years old. I will now go outside again. CIO

In the old days, when I was more affluent, and I wanted to see some of my neighbors in back country, I would drive up North Street here in Greenwich, Connecticut to Bedford, New York. I would drive through Bedford, and I would take a right just before the John Jay homestead, and I would drive through Katonah, where a Taft School classmate lived. When the road runs out one turns left and heads into South Salem, New York where they have a wolf sanctuary, and then somehow drives through North Salem which can be complicated and confusing and then down into Ridgefield, Connecticut and take the back road down into New Canaan, Connecticut an linger around downtown New Canaan, where they have two www.cvs.com stores and a www.starbucks.com and week days the Visiting Nurse Thrift Shop next to the New Canaan fire station, and then take one of several routes down to the Merritt Parkway for any of the five Greenwich exits. That is about a 40 to 50 mile jaunt, but one knows there are a lot of people living further out in the country around here. There are even dirt roads in Bedford, Katonah, South Salem, North Salem, Ridgefield and New Canaan which makes it seem quite rural. However, they might be a lot of trouble in snow. CIO

The beige Berber carpet in the kitchen is in like new condition except that one strand was pulled up by the older more power Hoover vacuum cleaner, so I think I will leave it in the kitchen for now, since it looks just fine. I will put the new darker blue Persian carpet over the dirty light blue Acrylic carpet by the Ethan Allen recliner and the Queen Anne chair. Since the older light blue Acrylic carpet is the same as Acrilan that my father used to produce, it might clean up at some future date. However, in decluttering my apartment a year ago, I threw out the refurbished Hoover carpet cleaner and a gallon of rug shampoo. What I do in interior decorating is to do a little bit at a time, when I have the time away from normal routines like exercise walking on Greenwich Avenue which I did for 34 years and another fifteen years or more in other parts of the U.S.A. and the world. Thus I have seen a lot from my perspective which nobody gives me credit for. One sees more, when they walk. CIO

04/03/18 Tuesday 9:40 A.M. I went outside. I ate a bowl of dry roasted peanuts and five dried apricots. I fiddled with the Vizio TV settings trying to temporarily make it better. I went outside again. I fiddle with the Vizio TV settings, but it still has the strobe effect. When I get the parts on Thursday, I might wait until I get the two boards next Monday. Then I will open up the Vizio TV, and I will install the two boards. If it all works fine, I will solder the parts on the old boards and try them. I guess nobody communicates with me anymore outside of two older family members, since older people can be tedious and boring for younger people, when there is a whole new world out there for them to explore. Still I like my private life on the quiet side of town in the small southwestern corner of the third smallest state in the nation. Most people once they get through Manhattan and New York just keep on going the two hours to get out of Connecticut to the more quiet areas of the Northeast. I actually went to school with a number of people from Connecticut, but they never communicate, so I guess they do not know how to type or communicate. Possibly everyone in Connecticut likes staying private after dealing with New York City. Also Connecticut has the largest number of horses per capita of any state in the nation, so maybe they are all busy taking care of live stock and stables. I have actually lived in this area mostly since June of 1962, but I have never had any money to explore Connecticut, so I just know a few bits and pieces. I actually know the coast line of Florida better, since when I was down there gasoline was only 50 cents a gallon in my 52 mile per gallon Subaru. I do know the layout of Manhattan quite well, but for older people like myself it is too dangerous to walk around in all that traffic to no avail. When I first got on the internet, I had two emails from Bill Gates around 1992 and two emails from Tim Berners Lee and one email from Mark Zuckerberg, but it never lead to anything but a lot of systems maintenance and typing and expenses that I really could not afford. I even once tried to support IBM locally, and I even bought OS/2 twice instead of Windows 95. I even had the version of OS/2 with Windows 3.1. Over the years, the internet has changed so much with all of the younger people using it, there is a lot more to do, but I only have so much time in a day, and I have other routines, I sometimes like to pursue. Coming back out from the conference I did see somebody that looked like Prince Charles and the Prime Minister of England looking at the remodeled Grand Central Station. I did noticed the British Union Jack was flying at the Waldorf Astoria, so maybe it was them. I supposed if I ever returned to Manhattan, they would have to make it like another State Visit from Connecticut. I will now go outside again. CIO

04/03/18 Tuesday 3:55 A.M. I let my Volvo wagon warm up to get rid of the frost. I went downtown to the Veterans monument across the street from the Senior and the Arts center. I cleaned most of the snow and ice off the north bench. I then sat out for a while in front of the Senior and the Arts Center. There was one snow plow cleaning off Greenwich Avenue. 04/02/18 Monday 9:55 P.M. I drank my coffee outside. There was a big noisy helicopter that flew by overhead. Connecticut makes helicopters, so sometimes they test them in this area. I washed the breakfast dishes. I made my bed. I will now go outside again. I will then shower and clean up. There has been no call for Midnight Mike to be downtown at night recently. It is not like a few years ago, when I would walk downtown in the early morning hours even on the coldest days of the winter. There used to be a pub in White Plains, New York where a few night people would gather many years ago. Alas, when one gets older there are not that many options for the wee hours of the morning. I used to drive into Manhattan which is only 20 to 25 minutes away, and there were a few places where younger people would network. However, at my age of close to 69 years old, I do not think they would not want to see me in student pubs, although I might have my own two cents to add. I obviously know my way around the internet. Still I have no product or service to sell. I guess one could say, I am self trained systems analyst, but there has not been any call for my skills, since I first started working with personal computers in September 1989. All I ever attracted was hackers for better or worse. I guess www.ibm.com is the goliath in this area, and I am simply the David with a sling shot at my disposal. Still I have learned a thing or two after all of these years. CIO

04/01/18 Sunday 8:40 A.M. I used my little cart, and I brought up the flat large screen television from the dumpster area. It is about a 11 year old Vizio VW42L. I tested it in the living room, and it worked just fine. I then installed it on the white bureau in the bedroom. However, after running it for about an hour, it began to flicker. I left it in place for now. I set it up with my Philips Universal remote control. I put the older 32 inch Westinghouse monitor on the Dell computer setup in the bedroom. I was working on the Windows 7 partition on the Dell bedroom computer. I determined that the bedroom Dell computer's hard drive might be faulty. I put in a refurbished Western Digital 320 GB SATA drive. I am restoring an Aomei Windows 7 backup of my old primary work computer which hopefully I can activate the same product key on. I can always put the Android drive back in very quickly. I went outside several times. CIO
