04/30/24 Tuesday 11:30 P.M.  I will now go outside and drink a instant coffee.  CIO

04/30/24 Tuesday 10:25 P.M.  To make the apartment more comfortable, I ordered open box orange Ivy Bronx Faux Leather Armchair | Wayfair for $130.16.  I will put it on the right side of the black piano bench on the right side of the kitchen entrance.  From there, I moved the red leather Chesterfield chair back to in front of the center living room window to the left of the portable air conditioner and to the right of the Queen Anne chair.  From there, I moved the Harvard chair to the right of the portable air conditioner  in front of the laptop setup to the left of the Samsung television.  From there, I moved the bent oak chair with blue cushion to the left side of the hallway in front of the book case.  From there, I moved the folding mahogany chair to the left side of the bed in the bedroom.  Until I get the orange chair, I put a bent oak chair with blue cushion from the teak dining table to the right of the black piano bench.

04/30/24 Tuesday 8:40 P.M.  From in front of the Queen Anne chair in the sitting area, I moved the Ethan Allen octagon end table to the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner.  From there I moved the square cherry end table to in front of the Queen Anne chair and the Harvard chair.  It seems to fit in better that way.

04/30/24 Tuesday 7:50 P.M.  I woke up at 5:45 P.M..  The order with tracking of Tracking | UPS - United States on the order for twenty cartons Richwood Filtered Cigars Mild - Florida Tobacco Shop for $279.80 total arrived.  I made my bed.  I threw out the shipping box.  I picked up the mail.  I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English  muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice, and a instant coffee outside.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I chatted with a friend.  I will now go outside and drink another instant coffee. 04/30/24 Tuesday 8:45 A.M.  I went out.  They still have three lanes to finish paving on West Putnam Avenue.  I drove down to the Board of Education Veterans Monument Parking lot, and I sat out for a long time.  The tulips are almost gone.  I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com twice.  I then returned home.  I will now shut down the laptop computer.  I will eat a yogurt and a croissant.  I will then go to bed.  CIO

04/30/24 Tuesday 6:25 A.M.  I will now go downtown and forage around.  As usual, maybe the Army of the South will be returning back up North for their summer sojourn around the First of May.  CIO

04/30/24 Tuesday 5:00 A.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of Virginia ham with six deli slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of creamed corn with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.  I will rest a bit.  CIO

04/30/24 Tuesday 3:55 A.M.  From the square cherry end table on the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner, I moved the tall oriental lamp to the corner of the teak dining table.  From there I moved the brass lamp to the square cherry end table on the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner.  That way those two lamps look more balanced.

When I researched Helen Kress Williams' son Claude Williams, he was supposed to be the largest highway contractor in America working out of Houston, Texas.  When I was last out on Long Island about thirty years ago for a Microsoft Conference with two thousand vegans at the Hyatt Hotel in Hauppauge, Long Island near Roosevelt Field Airport, I noticed they had repaved the Long Island Expressway, so maybe he had something to do with that.  Before the conference started I saw a white man at the Hyatt Hotel whom was six feet wide not around and about six feet tall.  I thought maybe it was Walter Hudson still alive and maybe he worked for Hudson Valley Security Armor Truck Company.  I noticed in the old days in Greenwich when the armor cars would show up at the grocery stores in Greenwich to pick up the money, they would grab a bunch of big bags of potato chips like they were feeding somebody very big in the armor cars.  CIO

04/29/24 Monday 11:20 P.M.  I went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  They are still repaving West Putnam Avenue.  I bought a five gallon bottle of Poland Spring water with bottle return for $9.99, from the clearance shelf a box of four croissants for $2.89, a package of Toufani spinach wraps for $4.99, two six packs of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99 each six pack and a box of 12 Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $16.99, and package of deli sliced Dutch gouda cheese for $6.99 a pound for $7.13 for $45.97 total.  I then returned home.  I used my little folding cart to bring up the 42 pound bottle of water, and I put the food away.  I put the folding cart and grey bag back in the car.  I drank a instant coffee outside.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

04/29/24 Monday 8:40 A.M.  This was more expensive I think than Fred Von Mierers Inside Parish Hadley – Sister Parish (sisterparishdesign.com) .  However, the only project that I ever saw that Fred Von Mierers actually did besides his own apartment at 420 East 49th Street now the German Consulate is that he showed me Helen Kress William's apartment on East 68th Street across from Halstead.  It was very tastefully done for a modest apartment, and as I recall it had petit point yellow carpet with blue dots.  We did help her move for three days from the gate house of her Oyster Bay estate with 40 acres on the waterfront to a two story house next to the fire house in Locust Valley, but besides moving and setting up the items, the only decorating that Fred did as I recall was to paint the kitchen cabinets off white, which I did not like, since they were steel cabinets, and as I recall Fred painted his bedroom in all white lacquer with just a couple of pieces of white lacquer furniture and a white lacquer floor.  I guess he gone from the chocolate brown on East 49th Street to White lacquer in Locust Valley.  He might have also used a Nantucket Looms bed spread which was a hand woven rough wool cloth made out in Nantucket by the same people that did tropical designs in Key West known has Key West Fabrics.  Helen Kress Williams had an interest in Key West since the largest store on Duval Street was the Kress Department store which became Fast Buck Freddie's.  Fred showed me a few other very large places with expensive decorating, but I do not know if he worked on them or not.  He had a number of craftsmen that he employed for the work.  I chatted with a friend.

04/29/24 Monday 8:10 A.M.  On the two end tables on either side of the Ethan Allen recliner, I switched around the copper eagle lamp with the tall oriental lamp.

04/29/24 Monday 7:10 A.M.  From the living room sitting area, I moved the black piano bench to the right side of the kitchen entrance on the left side of the red leather Chesterfield chair.  For that area, I moved the octagon end table to the living room sitting area in front of the Queen Anne chair and the Harvard chair.  Thus the living room sitting area is a little bit more spacious.  The permutations and combinations of interior decorating.  I once read that King Charles brings his own furniture, when he travels, so I do not have to worry about him visiting me here, unless he shows up with a moving van.

04/29/24 Monday 1:20 A.M.  I moved the Queen Anne chair to the right of the end table to the right of the Ethan Allen recliner.  I will put the faux leather orange chair to the right of the Queen Anne chair in front of the center living room window.  In the old days, when Fred Von Mierers took over Billy Baldwin's interior decorating business, I used to go to a number of pubs in Manhattan where the interior design people hung out.  I was always told Parish Hadley was better, but they are expensive.  One pub was due east of the Metropolitan Museum of Art which is supposed to know something about interior design.  In my free time I spent a lot of time around the Metropolitan Museum of Art which was a long walk, but they knew me and did not charge me $4 to gain admittance, because I told them I was a member of the Art Students League which was near my former bank on West 57th Street the Chemical Bank which I used while at the CBS Broadcast Center on West 57th Street.  Fred Von Mierers' Bank was the Chemical Bank across the street from the British Consulate on Third Avenue.  I cashed a lot of $50 checks there from Fred for his daily business activity such as taking taxis and entertaining clients.

04/28/24 Sunday 11:05 P.M.  I watched off Netflix series 2 episode 4 of, " Vikings."  I have only been to Oslo, Norway once in the winter of 1983 after I finished the garage apartment in Plandome Manor, Long Island.  I was supposed to be flying to Stockholm, Sweden round trip for a week's stay at the S.A.S. Hotel for the $800 cash I paid for the trip at J.F.K. airport, but for some reason the S.A.S. DC 10 landed at a military airport near Oslo, Norway.  The S.A.S. hotel told me that my ticket was only a one way ticket to Stockholm and no hotel; so I guess I was ripped off.  Alas I managed to forage around in Oslo, Norway for about a month at a cost of two thousand dollars to my father whom might be part Norwegian despite the fact he was living near Tampa, Florida at the time.  I guess in corporate America, business people travel so much, they forget about their families and their roots back home.

In chatting about the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut; I was one of the smallest people in the school.  I can remember students over 6 feet 6 inches tall, and one was a Physics major.  I have learned over the years to avoid tall people, particularly after the last trip to Fort Lauderdale at Halloween in 1983, when I saw about two thousand white people over 6 foot six inches and over seven feet tall, and there was an eight foot tall painting of General Omar Bradley a five star general in the lobby of the Bahia Mar Yacht club.  I guess that is why they have all of the tall buildings on the beach there now.  In New York City in my day, I learned a lot of the Canadian students my heigth at 6 feet tall got taller as they grew up too.  Also I learned the new chairman of the board of trustees of the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut happens to own the Bahia Mar Yacht Club in Fort Lauderdale, so he probably knows something about the ocean.

04/28/24 Sunday 8:05 P.M.  I was told by my neighbors that went out that West Putnam Avenue is still a mess with the State of Connecticut highway crew still repaving it.  I was told they have to use up their budget, until the new budget starts on June 1, 2024.  Another Taft Classmate that now lives in retirement out on Nantucket was Bill Clinton's assistant secretary of defense having served in Viet Nam and attending www.princeton.edu .  CIO

04/28/24 Sunday 7:40 P.M.  When I attended the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut; I had a classmate named Kirk Blanchard who went to Yale and his father also attended Yale, and they were both football players at Yale.  A long time ago, Kirk Blanchard wrote in the Taft Alumni bulletin, he was working at the Bank of New York in Nassau in the Bahamas, so he might know something about British banking.  When I was on beach patrol in Fort Lauderdale in the Fall of 1976, Gerry Ford was still President, and Joseph Coors III was the head life guard on Fort Lauderdale Beach with a cherry red Porsche with Colorado license plate "COORS".  I guess some republicans are able to travel around this country depending on various administrations.

In Kennebunk, Maine there is someone that looks like King Charles of England that runs Leyland British Auto .  There used to be a lot of British sports car at the gasoline station next to the Darien, Connecticut fire house too.

04/28/24 Sunday 7:00 P.M.  The internet says, my Shell gasoline credit card is still good.  It also says, I still have a bit of money in my TD Bank Account.  I guess the Rockefeller network of banks can shut down other credit cards at their whim.  In 1976, the sheriff in Fort Lauderdale drove a blue Cadillac Sedan and looked a bit like Nelson Rockefeller.  Up here there used to be a doctor that looked like Nelson Rockefeller that always used the Greenwich Library and drove a blue Cadillac Sedan, but he told me he was related to Charlemagne the Holy Roman Emperor.  I gave him the first book on Bill Gates to read.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

04/28/24 Sunday 2:15 A.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of Virginia ham with six deli slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of sweet peas with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.  I will now rest a bit.  CIO

04/28/24 Sunday 1:15 A.M.  I moved the furniture line up in the living room about a foot closer to the windows, so the entrance area in the sitting area is about 4.5 feet wide.  I went out to the www.chase.com Bank ATM machine on Greenwich Avenue.  I then went to the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $30.03 of self service premium gasoline for $4.99 a gallon for 6.888 gallons at odometer reading of 125549 miles for 85.2 miles driven since Thursday April 11, 2024 for 12.37 miles per gallon in local traffic.  I will now go outside and drink a instant coffee.  I have a small amount of money in the TD bank at the top of Greenwich Avenue, but as usual their ATM machine never works.  I kept the account open in case I ever needed an account in Kennebunk, Maine or Canada.  I guess the Canadians do not want to see visitors from down South.  I think one not only needs a passport to go to Canada, but one has to fill out a complicated VISA application online which does not make sense.  Also my cold weather friend can no longer drive that far anymore.  They now use Canadian Natural gas to power up Long Island, so somebody up in Canada is making money off that.  Also my Shell gasoline credit card seems to have expired, because I never used it.  The www.chase.com Bank does not provide financial service in Maine either, they one ATM machine at Logan Airport in Boston, and that is about it.  They also have Bank of America out on www.nantucket.net , if somebody from California wants to wash dishes out there.  CIO

04/27/24 Saturday 10:15 P.M.  I moved the small dark oak end table from the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner to the left side of the Queen Anne chair with the green colonial lamp and two internet radios on it.  I moved the folding oak TV table from the left side of the Queen Anne chair to the left side of the Samsung television with the laptops on it.  I moved the other folding oak TV table behind the bedroom door.  I moved the square cherry end table from the left side of the Samsung television to the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner with the copper eagle lamp on it.  Thus the laptops are higher up and easier to used.

04/27/24 Saturday 12:25 A.M.  I moved the square cherry table from the right side of the kitchen table to underneath the laptop on the left side of the Samsung television.  From there I move the dark oak end table to the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner with the copper eagle lamp on it.  From there I moved the octagon end table to the right side of the kitchen entrance with the oriental lamp on it.  Thus the entry way into the sitting area in the living room is about eight inches wider or a little over four feet.

04/26/24 Friday 10:45 P.M.  I rested until 9 P.M..  I went outside.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  They are still repaving West Putnam Avenue.  I bought two packages of deli sliced Virginia ham for $4.99 a pound for $3.87 and $3.69, from the clearance shelf for half price a package four old croissants for $2.99, deli sliced white American cheese for $5.99 a pound for $6.11, and two 48 ounce Ocean Spray diet cranberry juice for $3.69 each for $23.94 total.  I then went to the www.chase.com Bank ATM machine on Greenwich Avenue.  I then drove back home the back way on Old Track Road and Hamilton Avenue to avoid the road construction.  I put away the groceries.  I went outside, and I put the grey bag back in the car.  I drank a instant coffee outside.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

04/24/24 Wednesday 10:55 P.M.  I moved the copper Eagle lamp from the teak dining table to the square cherry end table at the right side of the kitchen entrance connected to the central lighting system.  From there I moved the green colonial lamp to a folding oak TV table on the left side of the Queen Anne chair.  That lamp is not on the central lighting system.  Thus the teak dining table is not as cluttered.

From the desk, I moved the Apple Macbook Pro back to the left side of the Samsung television.

On the desk I reconnected the Lenovo Mini to the HP 27 inch monitor, so it is all setup to use with Windows 12 beta Canary.  Last night the Alexa display told me that Windows 12 is not coming out until the fall of 2025, so I guess I have a bit of time for beta testing, when I have the time.

04/21/24 Sunday 3:15 A.M.  Back in my days in Manhattan, Citicorp used to advertise there were a million people awake at night in New York City, but when I walked around late at night and in the early morning hours particularly in the winter, I never saw that many people around.  I did see some subway maintenance people working on the subways at night and office cleaners returning from work.  There were also a few 24 hour restaurants.  The 24 hour restaurant north of Union Square and Grammercy Park around 34th Street might still be there.  I used to see a lot of yellow cabs around it.  CIO

04/21/24 Sunday 2:45 A.M.  On the new Lacrosse weather station, I had to put in three new AA alkaline batteries, and I moved it from on top of the bookcase at the left side of the hallway entrance to the bookcase above the Dell laptops on the left side of the Samsung television, so it is also nearer the outside sending until.  In my personal situation room that nobody seems to care too much about, the idea was first suggested by two New York City American Red Cross volunteers whom in their senior years have moved away down south.  They do not watch television.  One of them likes listening to the Alex Jones radio broadcasts from Austin, Texas, and the other likes networking worldwide with book groups world wide with Zoom.  They do have world wide experience in their travels every where, and they used to visit in Greenwich at Easter Time for the World Travelers' Party, but I guess they figure we have enough experts up here around all of the worldwide media people in this area.  I tried leaving the central lighting system in the living room turned off, and just using a few low lights that are on all of the time.  However, with a older person like myself moving around at night it is better to have full lights, so I do not mistake and trip.  I was told downtown yesterday by someone that visited the Casa Marina Hotel this past winter in Key West that it was cold down there.  I know the last time I visited down there in February 1982, it was 45 degrees Fahrenheit at night.  I had to return up North to build a garage apartment for another worldwide traveler that had a Florida house on Long Island, so after ten months, I had built a garage apartment that was warm and comfortable up North in case someone from the warmer part of the world showed up.  The main house had a big German furnace providing oil heat for the main house and the garage.  Having only been there a couple of times in the past 40 years, and the people I knew sold the house, it is not my concern anymore.  They have enough experts on Long Island whom manage to survive out there to the South of Greenwich.  I know the natural gas for the Long Island Natural Gas tanks is piped down from Canada and underneath Long Island Sound, so somebody in Canada is making money off Long Island.

04/21/24 Sunday 12:35 A.M.  I practiced speaking English, since I do not get much opportunity to speak it around here, since I have a different viewpoint I guess.  I will now go outside again and drink a instant coffee.  I guess Midnight Mike is back at work again after a few days of daytime.  It was much like that when I lived in Italy and visited Spain and France, I just spoke slowly a bit of my six years of high school French.  I recall while riding the train in Spain, I read a book by Herman Hesse that some other student told me I should read.  I also kept a hand written journal which disappeared, when I returned back to the States.  I think one of the people I knew out on Nantucket in the summer of 1978 that had gone to Williams College was named Chris Knight, and his picture showed up as one of President Reagan's Naval aids at the ranch in Santa Barbara and also his named showed up as a writer for Amtrak Magazine, which I read on a trip to Philadelphia once and at the same time, the New York Press that I read on the train said that there were only three electrical cables out of Grand Central Station, and one was down and the other was about to go down, so they only had one good electrical cable for the Northeast Corridor which transports a lot of people from Boston to run the country in Washington D.C. as far as I can tell from my viewpoint.  Sometimes for some odd reason Amtrak breaks down in Greenwich which is not a Amtrak stop, and I see a lot of deja vue friends from Boston walking around for some odd reason downtown on Greenwich Avenue.  People from Boston are supposed to have good educations from what I have read.  Even Benjamin Franklin whose mother was from the Folger family in Nantucket and who was the youngest of thirteen children got to go to www.harvard.edu .  CIO

04/20/24 Saturday 10:30 P.M.  I try to be decent to people based on what I know.  However, the reality is that everything I know is mostly old history, and I am not really up to date on current affairs.  I mostly just skim the headlines, I do not read them.  I am not going to resubscribe to Time Magazine anymore, since I can get Newsweek off the internet for free.  A friend of mine had an aunt whom owned and started Newsweek magazine also.  Last I knew they also had an office building on Madison Avenue in Midtown in Manhattan too.  I will now go outside and drink a instant coffee.  CIO

04/20/24 Saturday 10:20 P.M.  Since I have a more senior retired veteran friend in this area, I tend to go along with his friends in this area as opposed to the younger generation which do not have as much experience.  When I last attended the West Point Graduation, I heard Bill Clinton's Secretary of Defense Perry speak at graduation there, and he told the cadets and audience, "They Should All Become More High Tech."  I am sure somewhere in Government, there is a copy of that speech.  Also as I recall that was in Peace Time.  As a civilian I do the best that I can afford based on my limited experience.  CIO

04/20/24 Saturday 9:50 P.M.  I got used to traveling by train and plane, when my family lived in Decatur, Alabama.  Twice we took the train to Illinois in the winter, when Queen Elizabeth II was visiting Chicago on the Royal Yacht the Britannica.  I still can not figure out how they got it into Lake Michigan before the St. Lawrence Seaway was built.  They also had a cruise ship on Lake Michigan called the "Alabama".  I guess with Gary, Indiana nearby, they knew how to build ships with all of the United States Steel which they also made in Biringham, Alabama.  Also the Monsanto Chemstrand operation in Decatur, Alabama had a fleet of MacDonald Douglas DC 3 prop planes and also Gulf Stream prop planes which I flew a number of time around the southeast.  The golf pro at the Decatur, Alabama country club was Bill Curtis, so maybe he had something to do with Curtis Airways.  I recall once or twice flying down to Pensacola, Florida, where my family lived before Decatur, where there was a bar called the "Driftwood" where all the Navy pilots hung out.  They later moved it to Vero Beach, Florida, where I think they make Piper Cub planes.  Once up in the Northeast and going to college at Lake Forest College in Illinois, I flew back and for a number of times between Chicago and Boston.  I also recall making a side trip to Colorado College, where I visited the Air Force academy, and I once did a quick turn around flight to Detroit.  In the last year and a half at Lake Forest College, I drove a taxi cab at night, and I drove a number of military people from Fort Sheridan to O'Hare airport on their way to Viet Nam.  I recall also flying down to Tobago twice in the winter, but I think we might have flown out of JFK airport in New York.  In Tobago, we vacationed with members of the Pullman family that made railroad cars.  My last summer in Nantucket after returning from Oslo, Norway, I flew from LaGuardia to Nantucket, and when I left the island finally in December 1983 after a side trip to Fort Lauderdale, I took the Ferry Boat to Hyannis and then flew from Hyannis to LaGuardia with Jackie Onassis on the plane.  I know Eastern Airlines used to practice take offs and landings at the Nantucket airport, which was never too busy.

04/20/24 Saturday 9:00 P.M.  Even though my grandfather Scott was a railroad engineer for sixty years on the Illinois Central Railroad, the most enjoyable train ride I ever took was from Barcelona, Spain down the Costa de Sol to Malaga, Spain, where I caught Iberia to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands and returned after three weeks via Iberia to Seville, Spain and caught the night train to Madrid, where I never left the train station, and I took the new high speed train to Pisa, Italy for $65.  The Spanish use concrete railroad ties.  I then caught the local train from Pisa, Italy to Florence Italy, where I missed my exams, and I picked up the rest of my luggage at the Pensione Adria by the San Trinitra Bridge, and I caught the train from Florence, Italy to Rome, Italy, where I wandered around at night, and I found a dark colonnade on Easter Evening where I stayed up all night.  I did wander over to the Spanish steps which were all lighted up and very colorful.  I did not know the dark colonnade was the Vatican.  I caught a local bus in the morning to Leonardo de Vinci airport, where I missed my flight to Athens, Greece which was hijacked to India with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on board, but the flight I eventually caught to Athens, Greece arrived safely, where I met up with a Lake Forest College classmate from East Aurora, New York whom I traveled with around Greece and Turkey for three months, before I took a ten hour flight on TWA back to Boston.  When I was a youth, once I got traveling I just kept on going.  I traveled around Italy, Switzerland, France, and Spain via train a bit, since I had a $200 Urail pass good for unlimited train travel in Europe for two or three months.  I had thought about taking the train from Italy to Greece, but I was not sure if the Urail pass was good in communist Yugoslavia.  I did see a lot of people on the train in Spain from Yugoslavia whom worked in the Siat automobile factories in Spain.  A Siat is the same as a Fiat, but it is made in Spain.  With the bigger HP 27 inch monitor, it is also easier to write off the HP laptop.

04/20/24 Saturday 7:10 P.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of Virginia ham with six deli slices of Pepper Jack cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of sweet peas with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.

04/20/24 Saturday 5:40 P.M.  I went downtown to the Board of Education Veterans Monument, and I sat out for a long time enjoying the Dutch tulips.  I stopped by Zen Stationary, I bought a "Line Em Up" scratch card for a dollar, but I lost as usual to the Bank of Bombay.  I then sat out in front of the Senior and the Arts Center.  I then drove to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I paid a $1.50 in quarters to park there for an hour.  I got a roll of quarters for parking at CVS for $10 cash.  I then returned home.  I drank a instant coffee outside.  I turned on the living room LG 14000 BTU portable air conditioner to see it still works with the hot sun on my windows.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

04/19/24 Friday 7:55 P.M.  I disconnected the Apple Mac Mini from the Samsung television, but I left it in place underneath the AT&T two line telephone.  I then placed the other Lenovo Mini to the right of the cable box, and I hooked it up the Samsung television with the accessories from the Apple Mac Mini.  It all works just fine with Windows 12 beta Canary, but one can not print out on it, because it does not support wireless to the Brother All Purpose laser printer.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

From the mahogany bureau in the bedroom, I moved the brass desk lamp to the back side of the teak dining table, so there is a lamp there that turns on and off without the central light switch.

04/18/24 Thursday 11:40 A.M.  Instead of getting a $50 haircut, I went out to the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop on Hamilton Avenue, and I toured around.  I bought a Cloisonné lamp and shade for $50 down from $225.  I then returned home.  I installed it on the Octagon End table on the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner.  I moved the copper eagle lamp from there to the square cherry end table on the right side of the kitchen entrance.  I moved the map of Magellan lamp from there to the mahogany bureau in the bedroom, so there is now more light in the bedroom.

04/18/24 Thursday 9:15 A.M.  I moved the Apple MacBook from the back side of the desk back to the left side of the Samsung television.  I got out the Lenovo Mini with the Windows 12 beta Canary fully configured on it, and since it has a display port, I was able to hook it up to the Display Port Jack on the new HP monitor.  It has most excellent resolution.  I had a spare wireless mouse and wireless keyboard to hook up to it.  I also hooked up a USB headset and I moved the USB web cam from the Mac Mini, so it is good for casual internet usage.  I also hooked up the Brother All Purpose laser machine to it.  I will still use the HP laptop for my regular work.

04/17/24 Wednesday 8:55 A.M.  I went downtown to the Senior and the Arts Center, and I sat out for a long time.  The tulips are out in bloom at the Veterans' monument across the street.  www.starbucks.com was late opening at 6:30 A.M..  They are still working on the sewer line construction on Greenwich Avenue.  I think they need a new sewer line, so they can build more high rise construction in downtown Greenwich, which some people do not want.  I then went to www.cvs.com and I toured the store.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a five gallon bottle of Poland Spring water with bottle return for $9.99.  I then went to the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a 42 ounce Smart Balance spread for $9.79.  I then returned home.  They are working on repaving West Putnam Avenue at night too.  I brought up the 42 pound bottle of water with my little folding cart.  I then put it in the car, and I drank a instant coffee outside.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

04/17/24 Wednesday 4:25 A.M.  From the right side of the kitchen entrance, I moved the small dark oak end table to the left side of the Samsung television with the laptops on it.  From there, I moved the square cherry end table to the right side of the kitchen entrance.  I also moved the White Star Line placemat from underneath the laptops to the left side of the teak dining table and from there the wine bottle placemat to underneath the laptops.  I switched back the copper eagle lamp shade with the oriental lamp shade.

04/16/24 Tuesday 3:05 P.M.  In the living room, I moved the sitting furniture row six to eight inches further towards the windows.  I moved the Queen Anne chair about eight inches to the right.  I moved the octagon end table from the right side of the kitchen entrance to the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner.  I moved the small dark oak table to the right side of the kitchen entrance.  I turned the black piano bench ninety degrees around, so it faces the Queen Anne chair.  I moved the oriental lamp shade from the center window to the copper eagle lamp, and the lamp shade from there to the oriental window lamp.  I moved the HP Monitor box to the corner of the bedroom on top of the blue Rubbermaid hamper.  I keep electronic boxes for about a week to make sure, I do not have to return them.

04/16/24 Tuesday 9:40 A.M.  I went downtown to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue.  I used the bathroom there twice.  They have Greenwich baseball hats in the back aisle for $12.99.  They also have a large stock of various house fans starting at about $30.  I sat out a while across the street too.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a 12 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $16.99, a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99, two 4 packs of black cherry yogurt for each 4 pack, two packages of deli sliced Virginia ham for $5.99 a pound for $6.11 and $5.84 and a package of deli sliced Pepper Jack cheese for $5.99 a pound for $5.84 for $44.77 total.  I then returned home.  I put away the groceries.  I put the grey bag back in the car.  I drank a instant coffee outside.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

04/16/24 Tuesday 7:05 A.M.  I channel surfed.  I noticed my Apple Laptop, it has a display port connector, so with a display cable, the HP monitor that I bought could also be used with a Apple laptop.  I will now go downtown and forage around for a while.  CIO

04/16/24 Tuesday 6:05 A.M.  I put a wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of ham with two slices of Dutch smoked Gouda cheese and four deli slices of Pepper Jack cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of cream corn with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.

04/16/24 Tuesday 4:45 A.M.  The The Huntington in California is supposed to have General Patton's papers in it.  Alas I was so busy working out on Nantucket, I did not have much time to read as I did in my youth.   In the summer of 1977, I did buy a paper back copy of Herman Melville's Amazon.com: Billy Budd, Bartleby, and Other Stories (Penguin Classics Edition): 9780143107606: Melville, Herman, Coviello, Peter M.: Books which I never got time to read.  I left the paper back copy on my bureau at Mrs. Florence Frances' guest house at 31 India Street where I also kept my little amount of money that I never kept track of too much.  I recall the picture of Billy Budd on the cover, he was wearing something like a red flannel shirt.  In those days, they sold Cabin John flannel shirts out on Nantucket.  I think they came from Vermont.  I still have the blue canvas back pack that I sewed up on the beach on the south shore that summer.  I threw away its leather bottom, when it got moldy here.  The canvas came from Hood Sails out on Nantucket.  The thread they sold me came from the Heminway Thread company on Steamboat Road in Greenwich, where I ended up living for 4.5 years, when I came off Nantucket until I moved to public housing for elderly and disabled people in Byram in December 1988.  I used to use the Greenwich Library a lot until Covid 19 arrived.  CIO

The Boston Schools do not get out until the third week of June, so Nantucket Live Video Streaming Webcams of the Island is not very busy yet.  They used to read out there a lot.  The HUB in the center of town would sell the New York Times and the Boston Globe for 35 cents in my day, but that was too expensive, so I would read the Christian Science Monitor - CSMonitor.com in the Nantucket Athenaeum Library for free.

04/15/24 Monday 5:25 A.M.  I think my old neighbor from India House on www.nantucket.net and Cayo Hueso and Santa Cruz, California and the Malibu Colony, California might know a little bit about the waterfront after all of these years.  In Santa Cruz, California from what I could figure out, he lived near Oneal's surf shop when he broadcast on the local Catholic radio station on the night shift to the area including nearby Fort Ord where General Omar Bradley was last stationed.  The last time I was in Fort Lauderdale, during the Grenada invasion in October 1983 when I saw a couple thousand very tall white people, there was an eight foot tall oil portrait of General Omar Bradly in the entrance lobby of the Bahia Mar Yacht Club and one heck of a lot of traffic on the highways.  When I visited Jimmy Eldert's small apartment in Key West in the winter of 1978, he had CBS stationary in the apartment too.

I moved the cable modem behind the HP laptop, so there is room for a 24 inch monitor on the left side of it.

04/14/24 Sunday 11:55 A.M.  I will now go outside again.  It is suppose to go up to 65 degree Fahrenheit today.  I guess it is almost tulip time in Greenwich.  In the old days, the Dutch planted tulips in front of everything they owned.  They used to cover the center islands on Park Avenue in midtown Manhattan, so maybe the Dutch still owned something in New Amsterdam.  Who knows?

04/14/24 Sunday 12:35 A.M.  I saw one of their 747s Evergreen International Airlines - Wikipedia at Kennedy airport when I flew to Oslo, Norway in February 1983 on S.A.S..  Maybe they followed me over there.  They were flying the Texas flag at the S.A.S. Hotel in Oslo, and Royal Dutch Shell had a big office building next to the S.A.S. Hotel and nearby www.ibm.com had a big office building near the Norwegian Palace, so I figured those Texans might be North Sea Oil workers on a break from work in the North Sea which is a very dangerous job with over fifty foot waves around off shore oil platforms.  Alas Scottish Americans which I am 25% off don't get any money from North Sea oil, but they give half to the British and half to the Norwegians.  I was very proud of my new Brooks Brother's brown leather jacket that I had bought with my garage apartment earning, but Oslo when I first arrived at a military airport had six feet of snow, and there were lots of Norwegians around wearing full length white leather coats.  At the time both President Reagan and Vice President Bush were from warmer areas in the United States of America, so there were not many government people up to going to Oslo, Norway in the dead of winter.

04/13/24 Saturday 11:55 P.M.  I turned the heat back on in the apartment to get rid of the dampness.  I am going to give the refurbished Lenovo Google 8 inch display to my relatives when they visit, so they can use it for smart devices which I do not use.  They already have my other one.  I never used it.  I will now reset it, so my setup is not on it.  It costs $300 here Lenovo Smart Display 8" with Google Assistant - Walmart.com However, it is new $107 Lenovo 8" Smart Display with Google Assistant | eBay here.  I did a factory reset on it by holding down the volume buttons for eight seconds.

Out on www.nantucket.net , I used to spell, "Send Money" in big letters in the sand on the beach on the South Shore thinking some government satellites might be watching us.  Back in the summer of 1977 or 1975 Jimmy Eldert and I climbed the former water tower on the south shore near Lyon Farm Road.  I had climbed the smaller water tower at our family's rental house in New Canaan.  Over the years, I developed a fear of heights.

04/11/24 Thursday 3:10 A.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with three deli slices of turkey with seven slices of Dutch smoked Gouda cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com Zero Sugar and a 15 ounce can of cream corn with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli turkey I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a turkey and cheese wrap.  I will now rest a bit.  CIO

04/11/24 Thursday 2:40 A.M.  I drove down Greenwich Avenue as far as www.starbucks.com .  They are still doing water main construction on Greenwich Avenue from Elm Street down to the bottom of Greenwich Avenue.  I drove back uptown, and I sat out briefly at the top of Greenwich Avenue.  I then went to Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $17.04 of self service premium gasoline for $4.499 a gallon for 3.787 gallons at odometer reading of 125464 miles for 56.3 miles driven since Monday March 25, 2024 for 14.867 miles per gallon in local traffic.  I then went to www.cvs.com at 644 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought buy one get one free of 360 capsule 1000 mg fish oil pills for $31.79 both.  I then returned home.  I sat outside.  I filed this report.  CIO

04/11/24 Thursday 1:10 A.M.  I stored away the U.S.A. flag in front of the bookcase at the left side of the hallway.  Since I am half Dutch American, I might have some real Dutch contacts, so I put the Netherlands Dutch flag in front of the bookcase  on the left side of the hallway.  The only Dutch companies I know of in this area are Royal Dutch Shell, Royal Dutch Airlines K.L.M., the Stop and Shop owned by Ahold of the Netherlands, and obviously Heineken Beer.  There are also some wealthy South African people of Dutch descent like Elon Musk.

04/09/24 Tuesday 11:50 P.M.  I went out to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue.  I bought a ten inch fan with discount coupons for $18.08.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  I bought six 20 ounce Stop and Shop pineapple chunks for $1.69 each can, deli sliced smoked Dutch gouda cheese for $6.99 a pound for $7.06, and a gallon of bleach for $6.19 and .39 tax for $23.78 total.  I then returned home.  I put away my groceries.  I put the grey bag back in the car.  I drank a instant coffee outside.  I am soaking my coffee mug in bleach to get rid of the stains.  I put the new fan on the window shelf on the back right side of the desk.  I assembled another ten inch fan, and I put it on the window shelf behind the portable air conditioner.  I threw out the fan boxes.  I will now go outside again.

04/09/24 Tuesday 3:05 A.M.  How and why did I go to Nantucket in July 1975.  I had quit smoking cigarettes, and I had been swimming that spring with Louis Rosensteil's permission at the lake at Conyers Farm with the class of 1975 at the Greenwich High School.  I even built a 20 foot by 20 foot raft out on the broken up dock from the boat house.  When the lake got too much algae as the weather warmed up, I was walking around the playing fields at Greenwich Country Day school, and somebody from the class of 1975 let me ride their palomino horse at full gallop across the lacrosse field 300 yards, and the horse threw me head first into a stone wall or tree.  I just returned home a little shook up, and I did not go to the Greenwich Hospital to see if I had a concussion.  As I recall in early July 1975 or late June 1975, I got a post card from Nantucket from Sandy Carlson who had me at his Art Gallery on East 67th Street with W. Averill Harriman.  I had been to Nantucket before, when I lived in Boston starting in the summer of 1968 with classmates from Greenwich Country Day School.  For some reason, I baked six loaves of Rye bread, and packed up a duffle bag, and I hitchhiked as far as New Haven, where I stayed for the night at a Yale fraternity house for tennis players.  Then I got a ride most of the way on the road to Cape Cod with someone who was a helicopter pilot in the Coast Guard.  He even showed me his trailer where I can not remember.  In Woods Hole, someone I met introduced me to the local Episcopal priest, and he had me put up at the Poor House which is a retreat in Bourne for the Episcopal Church.  Around the Fourth of July, I hitch hiked back to Woods Hole, and I snuck on the ferry boat to Martha's Vineyard, and I hitchhike around the island, where I had also been before.  Phil Silvers even picked me up.   They let me stay at the youth hostile for free.  I then snuck on the ferry to Nantucket.  Tony Farrell from Norwich, Vermont picked me, and he showed me where I could camp out with some friends off Fairgrounds Road.  I met up with Sandy Carlson and Jimmy Eldert, but they were not able to put me up.  After a week or two of camping out and swimming at the beach on the South Shore, and eating my rye bread, I worked about a week at night at the Nantucket bakery making Portuguese bread and pastries for a little extra food.  I would drink orange juice from Cumberland Farms.  I even worked for a day picking up Quahogs in Madeket where we got $20 a potato sack full.  Then one evening Fred Von Mierers showed up, and he put me up at the $7,500 a week rental on Main Street, and took me to dinner at the Opera House.  The following morning we had a confrontation about some of Fred's personal property that had disappeared, but since I had helped him unpack, he did not let me explain, I had hidden it underneath the Pier One hallow wicker chair.  I told Jimmy Eldert, and I left the island, and I think I hitchhiked back to Greenwich.  I returned to Nantucket for a week with a car the following summer from South Carolina, where I had worked six months before, but I did not run into anyone I knew. However, one of the people I worked with in South Carolina as an expeditor at Daniel Construction was named Joe Gosnell, which is a founding family of Nantucket.

04/09/24 Tuesday 1:40 A.M.  I rested, and then I went outside, and I drank a hot cup of Twinnings Earle Grey tea with Splenda sweetener.  One of my few business connections coming out of www.lakeforest.edu and returning back to the Boston area was one friend and roommate's mother's house was next to the Robert Kennedy family in Hyannisport.  His girl friend's stepfather was the Chairman of the Board of Lipton tea, and he was also the commodore of the Marblehead Yacht Club, where I once visited them.  When I returned to Nantucket from Greenwich in the summer of 1975, I met up with them, and his Massachusetts sailboat number was MS 7.  He also had two daughters in China working as tea merchants.  His stepdaughter's father was killed in the Korean War like a friend of mine's father in Greenwich.  CIO

04/06/24 Saturday 8:40 A.M.  In the period that I was able to use Fred Von Mierers' apartment at 420 East 49th Street now the German Consulate from October 1973 when he showed up in the society press chatting with Nelson Rockefeller when the stock market crashed in October 1973 and the Arab Oil Embargo started until February 1975 when there was no point anymore in Manhattan, the basic meal plan was a $3 with tip breakfast of bacon, eggs over easy, toast, orange juice and coffee at the Greek restaurant on the northeast corner of 50th Street and First Avenue and a dinner of a liverwurst sandwich from the Thieves' Deli on the southeast corner of 50th Street and Second Avenue and the occasional twenty cent Dannon yogurt or fifty cent croissant flown in fresh from Paris at the bakery on the southeast corner of second avenue and 49th Street, I had enough energy to keep walking and exploring around Manhattan all of the time.  If I had extra money, there might be a roast beef sandwich on a Kaiser roll from the Old Dutch deli on East 86th Street.  There was a Gristedes on Fred's block, but we only got Dannon yogurt there.  At that period, I felt East 49th Street was like the old television show, "The Man from Uncle." with possible secret entrances to the big building just south of it.  When I tried living more simply with two Yale grads on West 20th Street near where the New York City police academy was, all they were eating was water kress salads with Dijon vinaigrette salad dressing with a small slice of French bread a sip of white wine.  Back then New York City did not have www.mcdonalds.com , but there was a LUMs hotdog restaurant across from the FDR Federal building on Third Avenue which is now a McDonalds.  I even signed a partition one Sunday morning with some elderly ladies to keep them from building a McDonalds next to the Colony Club.

Clarke's at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Federal Building on Third Avenue and 55th Street with three women with big bouffant hair does and mink coats, so even though he was from the Midwest, they hired him.  The Alexa display told me only twenty four million people now watch the three prime time news broadcasts on CBS, ABC, and NBC.  I was once told that CBS is Columbia University, ABC is Harvard University and NBC is Princeton University.  I guess Yale University does not feel the need to broadcast.  Even when I was at the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut which placed a lot of people at Yale, we were not allowed to watch television or listen to a radio, but we could read magazines in the library, so I read Time Magazine and Life Magazine in the library along with my school work, when I was too disabled to play sports.  Even at Greenwich Country Day some of the children of the top Time Life people were in my class.  Also at Lake Forest College, R.R. Donnelly published Time Life, and even a Luce family member was in my class.  Another relative of Bennett Cerf was also a roommate on the Farm, and the last time I saw him he was at the Time Life building working the mail room.  At Lake Forest College, they were always saying, "Publish or Parish."  However, a writer is suppose to write from experience, and I really have not had much experience to write about.  I chatted with a relative.  I will now go outside again. 04/06/24 Saturday 6:05 A.M.  I moved the portable air conditioner several feet to the left in front of the center living room windows, so its cool air will be directed into the sitting area.  I moved the Ethan Allen recliner and the marine blue ottoman back about nine inches.  I also moved the end table back about nine inches, so the small square end table fits in better in front of it.  I moved the bent oak chair back to in front of the laptops on the left side of the Samsung television.  I moved the folding mahogany chair between the bent oak chair and the portable air conditioner.  I turned the black piano bench around ninety degrees so it now faces the Queen Anne chair.  I moved the octagon end table on the right side of the kitchen entrance to the left about five inches and also the red leather Chesterfield chair, so it is more spacious at the teak dining table.

04/06/24 Saturday 5:15 A.M.  I moved the marine blue ottoman in front of the Ethan Allen recliner, where it is extremely comfortable to relax and put up one's feet to think or watch television.  I moved the bent oak chair to the left of the portable air conditioner underneath the center living room window.  I put the square end table in front of the larger end table, so there is nothing in front of the red leather Chesterfield chair on the right side of the kitchen entrance at the living room entrance area, so that area is now more open. I moved the folding mahogany chair in front of the laptops to the left of the Samsung television.  I turned the black piano bench around ninety degrees, so it faces the bent oak chair and its end faces the Queen Anne chair.   The main reason, I moved the red leather Chesterfield chair away from the portable air conditioner is that it can be a bit noisy in the warmer weather.

04/06/24 Saturday 2:55 A.M.  Using a telephone line connector, a telephone line splitter, and a long telephone line, I was also able to hook up the AT&T two line telephone in the living room sitting area to the Verizon line on the second connector which has the Optimum line on the first connector.  Both Verizon and Optimum lines have unlimited long distance, which I think includes overseas in case some one wants to check out somebody on the other side of the "Pond."  Thus the telephone by the living room desk, the telephone in the living room sitting area, the telephone by the bed in the bedroom, and the telephone in the bathroom are all two line telephones with both Optimum Long Distance and Verizon long distance.  I first got interested in communications, when my second grade class at the Walter Jackson grade school in Decatur, Alabama go to tour the local telephone company which already had big transmission towers for some sort of communications.  They even showed us how one could chat with two Dixie cups tied together with a long piece of thread.  The old Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop on Sherwood Place used to be across the street from the Greenwich telephone company, so one could find used office telephones there.  In New York City, I never had my own telephone number, and I only used the telephones of various hosts.  One of the first people I met in Manhattan was from Fort Hood, Texas and lived across the street from a Manhattan telephone exchange and military intelligence down on Varick Street in lower Manhattan.  Two of the people I knew in the New York City area had old steel telephones like were used in government offices or the military.  Last I knew over forty years ago, the person who grew up at Fort Hood was living across the street from the www.forbes.com building and was into making video presentations.  While at www.lakeforest.edu when I lived the last year and a half in Knollwood, Illinois west of town, I was able to have a pay phone put in to save on paying for my roommates' telephone calls.

04/05/24 Friday 10:15 P.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of ham with six slices of pepper jack cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of sweet peas with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.  I will now go outside again.

04/05/24 Friday 9:20 P.M.  I drove downtown to the Senior and the Arts Center.  The red tulips are just starting to come out at the Veterans monument across the street.  I sat out for a long time.  I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com .  I then drove to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I toured their store twice.  I also bought a coffee at the CFCF coffee shop for $4 and change.  I drank it in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park.  There was a grey Tesla cyber car CYBERTRUCK | Tesla parked in front of me for a long time that a lot of people photographed.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  I bought a 12 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $16.99, four 4 packs of Oikoss triple zero yogurt for $4 each 4 pack and two 15 ounce Marie Callender turkey pop pies for $3.50 for $39.99 total.  I then went by CVS at 644 West Putnam Avenue, I bought a two pack of Bicycle playing cards for free with my CVS cyber bucks.  I then returned home.  I picked up the mail.  I put away the groceries.  I put the grey bag back in the car.  I drank a instant coffee.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

04/04/24 Thursday 8:00 P.M.  I went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I picked up two prescriptions.  Then with bonus bucks from the previous purchase, I bought a seven foot extension cord for $1.74.  I then went to the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought six 16 ounce cans of Dole mandarin oranges for $2.49 each, a 42 ounce Smart Balance spread for $9.39, and a 48 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla almond milk for $5.69 for $30.02 total.  I then returned home.  I put away my groceries.  I put the grey bag back in the car.  I drank a instant coffee outside.  Today is the last day at Acme that roast beef is on sale for $9.99 a pound.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

04/04/24 Thursday 3:45 A.M.  A warm cup of coffee tastes better inside.  I channel surfed.  I watched a program on Cspan channel 65 about Broadband Nation | Broadband Nation Expo  and Communications and Technology Leaders on Broadband Readiness | C-SPAN.org .  It says there is a shortage of two hundred thousand starting jobs to expand the nation's broadband infrastructure over the next five years.  The money is there, but not enough people to build the networks where needed.  The starting jobs once trained will pay $20 to $25 an hour and after five years upper level jobs will pay a hundred thousand dollars a year.

I went outside again.  It finally quit raining.  At 8 A.M. this morning at high tide, there is supposed to be flooding at Tod's Point beach in Old Greenwich.

04/03/24 Wednesday 4:20 P.M.  I moved the red leather Chesterfield chair, the end table, and the Ethan Allen recliner about eight inches away from the window wall.  I put a folding oak TV table on the left side of the Queen Anne chair.  On it, I put the Ocean Digital Internet Radio and the the Lenovo Google display facing the Chesterfield red leather chair.  I moved the Grace Digital Internet radio to the small dark oak table on the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner.   Thus the end table between the chairs is not as crowded on top.

04/02/24 Tuesday 9:25 P.M.  From the left side of the Queen Anne chair, I moved the Ocean Digital Internet radio to the end table between the Ethan Allen recliner and the red leather Chesterfield chair.  From the left side of the Queen Anne chair, I moved the folding oak TV table to the left side of the Samsung television with the laptops on it.  From there I moved the small dark oak table to the left side of the Queen Anne chair.  From the right side of the Queen Anne chair, I moved the copper eagle lamp to the small dark oak table on the left side of the Queen Anne chair.  I moved the red Chesterfield leather chair, the end table and the Ethan Allen recliner about eight inches towards the windows.  Thus the entrance area into the sitting area is still wide and spacious.
