I took two slices of toasted Pepperidge Farm 15 grain bread, and I put Best Foods mayonnaise on them, and I added seven 1/32nd inch thick slices of Stop and Shop sliced turkey and six 1/32nd inch thick slices of Stop and Shop provolone cheese and a few teaspoons of Heinz dill pickle relish, and I cut the sandwich in half, and I ate it with Cape Cod jalapeņo potato chips and a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice. I will now go outside again and drink a brewed coffee. CIO

However, the video went out on it, so I took the video card from the HP backup computer along side of it, and I put it in the Dell Studio XPS 8100, and it seems to be working fine now. I am now doing an Aomei backup of it to an external SATA drive in an external SATA drive holder. I will now go outside for a brewed coffee. CIO

I moved the Westinghouse TV monitor from the bathroom to the right of the primary work computer setup, so it displays both HP desktop with Windows 11 and the Apple Mac Mini with Catalina with a much sharper screen.

05/22/22 Sunday 11:00 P.M. In my apartment, the Technics amplifier, when it is set to CD will play the Grace Digital radio to the right side of the primary work computer. However, I turned off the Technics amplifier speakers, and I plugged in a headset to it, so also on CD, it can play the Sony carousel CD player too. However, when I installed the Sony carousel CD player, when the other one broke, I got the CDs all out of order, and it would be too tedious for me to try to rearrange them. The Grace Digital radio does play Serius XM also including the Beatles radio station. Back around 1964, when my father visited General Norman Ireland Smith in Liverpool, England who had been a British General in Burma in World War II, he was given two Beatles records which my elder sister would have played on the Greenwich Radio station, a couple of years before they were on Ed Sullivan. Also in Manhattan in my day, the pub the Ninth Circle on West 9th Street in Greenwich Village used to have a Jute Box with Beatles Music on it. On the evening that Ronald Reagan first showed up in Manhattan after getting elected President, I walked my roommates white German Shepard from the West Side of Manhattan through Central Park to the Waldorf Astoria, and the Secret Service photographed the dog with a Polaroid camera. On the way back to the West Side is when John Lennon was shot and killed, and I was lucky that the white German Shepard walked me down West 71st Street instead of West 72nd Street where John Lennon lived at the Dakota apartments. I had seen him a couple of times with Yoko Ono at the Fairway grocery store on Broadway, and I once also saw them at the bakery by Fred Von Mierers' apartment on East 54th Street and First Avenue. Fred knew Mic Jaeger though. I have Paul McCartney's, "Driving in Rain" CD collection, but it would be hard to find with the CDs all mixed up too. CIO

I used to like taking the 4 A.M. bus up Broadway from Greenwich Street in Greenwich Village to the Upper West side after a local watering hole across the street from Ed Koch's apartment closed which was on Greenwich Street in Greenwich Village at the site of the Old Dutch Settlement House in New York City. There are always a few people awake in Manhattan particularly around the hospital zones, and they also do a lot of maintenance at night. The bus at 4 A.M. seemed to have a number older office cleaning people on it coming up from Wall Street, but it was enjoyable ride compared to the subway which was frequently being work on. There are no web videos about to replace a 2005 Volvo XC 70 starter motor, but one web note says it is underneath the front of the car, and one removes the splash guard, and it only takes five minutes to replace the starter motor. Another video says it is much more complicated from up top. I guess the fact that it would be $1200 at Stamford Volvo, is that they probably put in an original Volvo starter motor which they have to order. It does say that starter motors fail by 125,000 miles; and my car has 122,000 miles on it. There is Rusty Oxer's garage nearby that offers AAA towing should I need it with GEICO, and I think it is the same now as https://www.riversideserviceinc.com/ . I see them working all of the time in my neighborhood, but for now I will not worry about. I will just stay at home two or three days, and I will start the car a couple of times a day to make sure it works. From my Volvo records, it does not appear to ever have had its starter motor replaced. When I went to my Taft School https://www.taftschool.org/ tenth reunion in the Spring of 1978, I took the ferry off www.nantucket.net , and I caught a bus from Hyannis to Providence, Rhode Island, I took the Amtrak to Waterbury, Connecticut. I stayed in a hotel near the train station, and the day after the reunion, a former teacher dropped me off at midnight on the highway north of Waterbury, and I hitch hiked to Route 128 in Boston and then back down to Cape Cod and out to Nantucket in time to work at https://languedocbistro.com/ restaurant on Nantucket. I think that spring, I also came off a second time off Nantucket, and I took the bus to Providence, Rhode Island, and the Amtrak to Stamford, Connecticut and the local to Greenwich, and I walked up to the Greenwich Hospital to have a spacious cist removed from my forehead by an intern from Jamaica, and then I went back to Nantucket the same way in time for work at the Languedoc restaurant. Coming down the back stairway, I hit my head on the ceiling, and it made the stitches crooked and left a scar. I later had the stitches removed on Nantucket. The cist was caused by a carpenter of Fred Von Mierers' that hit me in the forehead at the apartment at 420 East 49th Street for no particular reason. I will now shower and clean up. CIO

05/14/22 Saturday 6:35 P.M. I picked up the mail. I chatted with a friend. Back in the winter of 1977, when my car was towed in Fort Lauderdale, I hitch hiked and walked between Fort Lauderdale and Key West a number of times. In the fall of 1977, I hitchhiked from New London, Connecticut to Fort Lauderdale. I later in the spring of 1978, I hitch hiked with a friend from Key West to Atlanta, Georgia, and from there we hiked the Appalachian trail from Ashville, North Carolina north for three days, and then hitch hiked down to Beaufort and Hilton Head, South Carolina and back down to Key West and then a couple of weeks later hitch hiked North of Key West to Washington D.C., where we caught the Amtrak to Stamford, Connecticut. I also in the summer of 1980, hitch hiked and walked from Laguna Beach to Las Angeles airport, where I caught a flight to Hawaii and then to Maui. On the return, I walked and hitch hiked from San Jose, California to Santa Cruz, California. In those days, even if one had money, they would not rent one a rental car without a credit card. I also hitch hiked a few times from Weston, Massachusetts to Cape Cod and the Islands. I also have hitch hiked from Greenwich to Cape Cod and to the Islands. I have also hitch hiked on www.nantucket.net and Martha's Vineyard. I once hitch hiked from I-95 at Gun Hill Road at the end of the Lexington Avenue line to Greenwich. I once walked with a friend in zero degree weather from the Darien train station to downtown New Canaan. I once hitch hiked back from South Hampton to Manhattan. I use to always pick up hitch hikers until it was outlawed. I have also walked from mid country Greenwich to Tod's Point and hitch hiked back. I have also hitchhiked from Hyannis to Boston and then to Stowe, Vermont and back. I have also hitch hiked from Greenwich to the University of New Hampshire to Portland, Maine to Williamsburg, Virginia and back to the Woods Hole ferry to Nantucket. !!!!!! 05/08/22 Sunday 11:40 P.M. On the older Apple Imac in the bedroom, one can not remove the screen without breaking it in order to install a faster SSD drive. In stead I used a USB SATA external hard drive holder with an SSD drive in it connected to the USB port. Then one boots the Apple Imac with Command and R keys until the Utilities Window appears, and then one selects Disk Utility. One has to be careful, and first use First Aid to format the external SSD drive, and then one selects from the external SSD hard drive to Restore it from the existing Internal Hard Drive that is already configured. Once it is restored with a mirror image, one reboots, the Apple Imac pressing Option key, and selects the second drive to quickly boot the faster SSD drive. To do it, one has to make sure the external USB SATA SSD drive is also turned on in the process. It is pretty simple for a faster older Apple Imac computer. Of course the SSD drive has to be larger than the existing internal hard drive. The RCA building at Rockefeller Center on the lower level has nice bathrooms. The Plaza Hotel has nice bathrooms. www.rockefeller.edu in their high rise building has a cafeteria with nice bathrooms. They also have a veterinarian clinic. The Frick Museum probably has nice bathroom, so does the Asia Institute nearby.

Fred had been to Key West, before I went there in the fall of 1976, and he once introduced me to Tennessee Williams on East 54th Street. I used to see Tennessee Williams at the Atlantic Shores Beach Club all of the time, but I never became a great writer from what I can tell. I sat out at the bench at the top of Greenwich Avenue. I sat out at the bench at the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park. The five and dime store did not have string.
