05/28/24 Tuesday 10:25 A.M.  I woke up at 8:45 A.M..  I made my bed.  I went outside.  I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English  muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice, and a instant coffee outside.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  CIO

05/27/24 Monday 11:05 P.M.  On channel 77, I watched a program about D Day and Normandy.  I have seen the movie, "The Longest Day" a few times.

I will now shut down the laptop computer.  I will eat a yogurt.  I will then go to bed.  CIO

05/27/24 Monday 9:50 P.M.  Basically to be more efficient and cheap like the Scottish, it is best to things by routine, when one gets older and retires.  CIO

05/27/24 Monday 9:05 P.M.  I chatted with a friend and a relative.  I will now go outside and drink a instant coffee.  When I lived out on Nantucket, I was told submarine captains in World War II never slept, but only took 20 minute cat naps.  CIO

05/27/24 Monday 6:55 P.M.  While at www.lakeforest.edu , I failed Dr. Shockley's course twice in Quantum mechanics - Wikipedia because I argued the therom was wrong.  I also failed Professor Hanke's course in recent American History, but I got three credits to graduate in 1972 by getting credit for an Independent studies course in COBOL programming for the work that I did at Polaroid that summer on an IBM 360.  I recall writing a spread sheet.  I left the course material including the IBM manuals at Lake Forest College, so maybe somebody out there learned from them.  Briefly in the fall of 1972 after graduating I lived next to a 40 story IBM building in downtown Chicago.  Nearby were fifty red cross ambulances, the Merchandise Mart, and the Madina temple.  Briefly after that I moved to 31 East Elm Street, before driving back east in a used Mercedes Diesel sedan that I had purchased.  Although Polaroid in its day leased millions of dollars of IBM equipment, I never was able to get a job with IBM, because I guess I was not advanced enough with three months of COBOL programming experience.  I recall when I was finishing up working on the spread sheet program, I met three college students whom lived on Beacon Hill, and they gave me a stimulant, and I went home, and I finished writing the program over night, and to everyone's surprise it worked just fine on the IBM 360.  I was so tired I hitch hiked down to Martha's Vineyard, and I went out to Edgartown, and I took the ferry out to Chappaquiddick, and I camped out on the Fourth of July weekend for two or three days, and then I returned back to the Boston area.  In the bad weather camping on the beach, there were Jeep tracks around my camp site, so I was lucky I was not run over by an off road vehicle. 

I also checked out my older electric watches, and I chatted with a friend.

05/27/24 Monday 5:05 P.M.  I moved the folding oak TV table to the right side of the saddle faux leather chair, so there is more room for the bent oak chair on the left side of the teak dining table to pull out.  From there I moved the square cherry end table behind the octagon end table.

05/27/24 Monday 3:45 P.M.  I put a new Energizer 377 button battery in my Swiss Army watch.  I had to open up the Swiss Army watch and reinsert the battery again to get it working propery.

05/27/24 Monday 3:10 P.M.  I opened up my Invicta watch, and I ordered Amazon.com: Energizer 2016 Batteries, 3 Volt Battery Lithium Coin, 2 Count : Health & Household for $5.82 total.  It is a good watch that I never wore, and I recall paying about $50 for it years ago.

05/27/24 Monday 10:25 A.M.  A relative emailed me in the current state the apartment was too crowded looking and to move it back to where is was two weeks ago.  I moved the folding mahogany chair in front of the left side of the hallway back to the left side of the bed.  I moved the saddle color faux leather chair to the right side of the black piano bench at the apartment entrance.  From there I moved the Harvard chair to the left side of the hallway in front of the dark pine bookcase.  I moved the cranberry ottoman back in front of the Queen Anne chair.

05/27/24 Monday 10:05 A.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of Virginia ham with six deli slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com Zero Sugar and two 8.75 ounce cans of corn with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.  CIO

05/27/24 Monday 8:25 A.M.  I went downtown to the Senior and the Arts Center.  I sat out for a long time.  I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com three times.  I walked down to Zen Stationary, and I bought a Fish and Chips scratch card for a dollar, and I lost as usual to the Bank of Bombay.  I then sat out some more.  They were getting ready for the Jim Fixx marathon in the rain.  I chatted with a friend.  I then went by www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I toured the store.  I bought a Anne's croissant for $2.14, and I ate it in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park across the street.  I then returned home.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside and drink a instant coffee.  CIO

05/27/24 Monday 5:45 A.M.   I will now go downtown and hang out on Green Witch Avenue.  The Jim Fixx Memorial Day marathon starts off this morning at the Veterans monument on Greenwich Avenue, so it will be quite crowded, and the street will be closed.  Back out on www.nantucket.net when I used to help serve 250 meals a day, I used to job ten miles out to the beach between the lunch shift and the dinner shift.  I could only afford Adidas Country sneakers which were white with three green strips, which means up in Canada, one is a college student.  There is a Adidas warehouse the size of a football field next to York University in the suburbs of Toronto, so there are probably still some younger people up there whom are still fit.  I used to know a younger fellow who was once Donald Trump's caddy over in Westchester County, and he would jog from Rye to Stamford every morning where he was a physical fitness trainer.  In the last few months I did see somebody that looked a bit like him job by here, and the fellow that I saw was built like a brick shit house, but maybe it is just a younger relative of his.  CIO

05/27/24 Monday 4:45 A.M.  I moved the saddle color faux leather chair from the left of the Queen Anne chair to the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner with the cranberry ottoman in front of it.  From there I moved the Harvard chair to the apartment entrance on the right side of the black piano bench.  From there I moved the red leather Chesterfield chair to the left of the Queen Anne chair.  That way the newer furniture is more prominently displayed.  With the Harvard chair next to the Panasonic two line telephone, I might have a smarter conversation some day.  I chatted with Ronald Reagan's valet when he used to be an interior decorator on Greenwich Avenue, and he told me one of his Greenwich clients had him move the furniture every day.  Also at a pub behind the Natural History Museum in Manhattan, I once met a interior decorator from the Harvard school of design who decorated the Kennedy School of Public Affairs in South Boston.  He was the son of the Austria consulate to the United Nations, and from Palm Beach, Florida, Steubenville, Ohio where his family owned Steuben Glass and Vienna, Austria.  I do not know what they teach them at the Harvard School of Design, but I recall in spring of 1977, I slept on a stone bench at the Corbusier School of Design at Harvard, so maybe something rubbed off on me.

05/26/24 Sunday 10:25 A.M.  I went out to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue.  I toured the store.  I then drove down to the Board of Education Veterans Monument bench, and I sat out for a long time.  I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com .  I sat out in front of the Senior and the Arts Center for a long time.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  They have porterhouse steaks there in seals packages for $8.99 a pound, but they are going fast.  I bought six 16 ounce cans of Stop and Shop pineapple chunks with juice for $1.69 each and a package of Toufani spinach wraps for $4.99 for $15.13 total.  I then returned home, and I put the food away.  I put the grey bag back in the car.  I drank a instant coffee outside.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

05/26/24 Sunday 6:15 A.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of Virginia ham with six deli slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with two ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of green beans with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.

I will send out my weekly notes.  I will then go outside and drink a instant coffee.  CIO

05/26/24 Sunday 5:15 A.M.  I watched off Netflix series 3 episode 2 of, "Designated Survivor."  I went outside midway through, and I drank a instant coffee.

I moved the Harvard chair from the left side of the hallway entrance to the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner.  I slid back the octagon end table to help it fit in.  From behind the octagon end table, I moved the square end table to the right side of the red leather Chesterfield chair.  From there, I moved the folding oak TV table behind the bedroom door.  I also moved the folding mahogany chair from the left side of the bed to the left side of the hallway entrance in front of the dark pine bookcase.  That way a fourth person is able to watch television in my situation room.  Maybe with the Harvard chair, the television will get smarter.

05/26/24 Sunday 1:00 A.M.   I chatted with a relative after the last note.  I woke up at noon, and I watched the end of West Point Graduation on Cspan Commencement Speeches: President Biden Delivers Commencement Address at West Point | C-SPAN.org .  I finally woke up at 11:30 P.M..  I made my bed.  I went outside.  I picked up the mail.  I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English  muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice, and a instant coffee outside.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I will now go outside and drink another instant coffee.  CIO

05/25/24 Saturday 10:10 A.M.  I will now shut down the laptop.  I will eat a yogurt.  I will then go to bed.  CIO

05/25/24 Saturday 9:35 A.M.  I went downtown to the Board of Education Veterans monument bench.  The summer flowers that replaced the tulips look nice.  I sat out for a long time.  I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com .  I then drove to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue.  I sat for a long time in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park.  I toured CVS, when it opened.  They are now locking up the bathroom, because some of the local youth mess it up.  I then sat out some more.  I chatted with a friend who told me high tide is around noon, when it is good for fishing.  I then drove back down to the Board of Education Veterans monument bench, and I sat out some more.  I used the bathroom at Starbucks again.  I checked out Zen Stationary down the street, but they are out of "Line-Em-Up" scratch cards.  I then sat out some more.  One of the maintenance volunteers for Greenwich Green and Clean told me the Jim Fixx marathon is on Monday.  They have three port-o-potties at the Greenwich Common, but at the moment, they are locked up.  I then went to the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue.  They have packages of Oscar Meyer hotdogs there on sale for $3.99.  I bought six 16 ounce cans of Dole Mandarin oranges for $2.39 each and a 42 ounce Smart Balance spread for $9.79 for $24.13 total.  I then returned home.  I put away the groceries.  I set both portable air conditioners for 75 degrees Fahrenheit.  I went outside, and I put the grey bag back in the car.  I drank a decaf instant coffee outside.  I was told that Senior Citizens can go to the town party today down by the harbor at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park for $85, but they might have already had a lottery for it.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

05/25/24 Saturday 5:40 A.M.  I watched off Netflix, series 3 episode 1 of, "Designated Survivor."  I went outside midway through, and I drank a instant coffee.  I will now go downtown to Green Witch Avenue to hang out with any of the Holiday crowd that might still be around.  Today is the Town of Greenwich Memorial Day Party on the Harbor at Roger Scherman Baldwin park.  Alas as a night person, I will not be attending.  Also it is $500 per person to attend, so maybe somebody here at the Gateway of New England might still have wampum or clam shell which is what they really area.  One can sneak out to Grass Island early to get a place to watch the festivities for free though.  CIO

Here is what I looked like in the Spring of 1968 before I started my senior year at the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut mls1968.jpg (837×689) (scott-mike.com) which was taken in Wellesley, Mass. by Fred Fisher, when my family lived next door to the Dana Hall girls school, and I started working at Polaroid as a research photographer, and I first visited Nantucket that summer.  I used to get around a lot more.  My famous pictures of the Boston Customs building is in the background which was the tallest building at the time in Boston.  I guess Boston got richer.

05/25/24 Saturday 3:05 A.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of Virginia ham with three deli slices of Swiss cheese and three deli slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with two ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of green beans with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.  Despite the last eight months of reorganizing my apartment, it did not come from my interior decorating skill but help from three relatives and a lot of trial and error on my part.  When I lived in Florence, Italy in the winter of 1972 near the Medici Palace, the Medici Palace did not have any furniture just some art work.  My simple tiny room was at the Pensione Adria on a third floor inside court yard, so one could not hear the traffic, when sleeping all day.  It was about 12 feet by eight feet with a bed and a bureau and that was about it.  Since it was across from the kitchen, I could smell the food cooking, but I did not do any cooking myself.  I just walked around Florence, Italy at night.  They do not eat dinner there like in Spain until 10 P.M., but I could afford a good meal.  However, I did not eat too much, since I weighed about 130 pounds.  CIO

05/25/24 Saturday 2:10 A.M.  From the northwest corner of the living room to the left of the Samsung television, I moved the Harvard chair with the red cushion to the left side of the hallway entrance in front of the dark pine bookcase.  From there, I moved the bent oak chair with blue cushion to the northwest corner of the living room to the left of the Samsung television in front of the white end table with the Dell 17.3 inch laptop on it.

05/24/24 Friday 11:10 P.M.  One of the Polaroid connections with Manhattan is that Polaroid use to employ a lot of blind people assembling film packs in Boston.  Thus Polaroid gave money to the Lighthouse for the Blind in the Chelsea area of Manhattan.  The Lighthouse for the Blind use to donate German Shepard puppies for a year to be raised, before they were trained as seeing eye dogs.  Vivian Simmons West had the best of breed in German Shepards out at the Long Island dog show.  When I went to Frankfort, Germany in December 1980 for three days, I stayed at the Y.M.C.A. there with two German Shepards.  When my family lived at the Patterson farm in New Canaan, we had a German Shepard dog that I trained.  When I stayed in Key West in the winter of 1978 with John Bolton at the Casa Marina Hotel, there were two hundred stray Hemingway cats with six toes in the hotel.  K-9 Security was always trying to find us, but the two hundred stray cats threw them off the scent.  The current President also has one or two German Shepards.  In Manhattan from December 1980 to February 1982, when I stayed at 315 West 74th Street, I walked Vivian West's granddaughter's white German Shepard in that period.  Possibly the way Oppenheimer got in charge of the Manhattan project is that his family lived at West 75th Street and Riverside Drive and Bernard Baruch Bernard Baruch - Wikipedia who was Franklin Roosevelt's best friend lived at West 74th Street and Riverside Drive, so maybe that is the connection.  Franklin Roosevelt used to stay at Bernard Baruch's plantation in South Carolina frequently.

05/24/24 Friday 8:20 A.M.  I went out to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  I bought two six packs of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.59 each six pack, a 12 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $16.99, a package of Toufani spinach wraps for $4.99, two packages of deli sliced ham for $4.99 a pound for $3.74 and $3.77, a package of deli sliced white American cheese for $5.99 a pound for $6.69 and a four pack of Dannon yogurt for $5.79 for $45.15 total.  I then returned home.  I put away the groceries.  I put the grey bag back in the car.  I sat outside.  I moved the mid season jackets off the back of my front door to the right living room closet, and I put the summer jackets on the back of the entrance door.  In the bedroom closet, I moved the winter shirts to the far left, and the summer shirts to the left center.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

05/23/24 Thursday 1:25 A.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of German baloney with six deli slices of Swiss cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com Zero Sugar and a 15 ounce can of green beans with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli baloney I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a baloney and cheese wrap.  I will now rest a bit.  CIO

On the east side of Manhattan at www.rockefeller.edu has dining facilities, but they are a bit expensive.  It used to be $2 for a yogurt and a apple at the cafeteria, but I think the dining room is more expensive.  The library there has lots old books on Chinese medicine in Chinese, since around 1909 John D.

Rockefeller gave a hundred million dollars to Chinese Medical Research.  CIO

05/23/24 Thursday 12:15 A.M.  New York City has lots of hospitals but not many grocery stores.  When I lived at 315 West 74th Street, there was a Gristedes on West 72nd Street and a Korean produce market and a Polish bakery.  Nearby on Broadway there was Zabars and Fairway groceries, so if one had money, one could shop conveniently, but one would have to walk all the way through Central Park to hang out in Midtown Manhattan.  There was bus service down Riverside Drive east on West 72nd Street and down Broadway and west on Central Park South and down Fifth Avenue to Greenwich Village which was more peaceful and back uptown on Broadway.  Broadway is an old Dutch cow path.  In my day, the apartment at 315 West 74th Street was owned by the Van Duzen Dutch family whom are original settlers in New Amsterdam.  Today there are 350,000 members of the Van Duzen family in America.  Even General Westmoreland in Greenville, South Carolina had a wife from the Van Duzen family.  The Dutch tend to be a bit tall, so I guess some of them end up in the military, when they are not planting tulips.  The apartment building at 315 West 74th Street was a Sandford White building with brick work like the Senior and the Arts building here in Greenwich.  At one time the exile King of France Louie Phillip even lived in that neighborhood.  On West 79th Street and the Hudson River, there is a large marina where the Forbes kept their yacht when it was not down at Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale.  However, it can be very cold in that neighborhood with the wind out of the Northwest in the Winter, and there is a lot of automobile pollution from the West Side Highway bringing people from the George Washington Bridge into Manhattan from New Jersey.  My friend who had the apartment besides another place at the Carnegie Tower on the East Side was the head of word processing in Cyrus Vance's law firm after he was Secretary of State.  Her ex-husband was a software engineer in the State Department in Libya, Thailand, and Saudi Arabia.  They both went to Brown University.  The mother out in Plandome Manor, Long Island had a mother who was part of the Kaiser of Germany's consulate to Manhattan before World War I.  She never went into Manhattan, although she lived next to the Port Washington line on the Long Island Railroad.  Since she was a neighbor of Mr. Grumman of Grumman aircraft, she did visit every five star hotel in the World. She had best of breed in the Long Island dog show of pugs, German shepards, and English cocker spaniels.  She might have been a friend of the Duke of Windsor, since he kept pugs too.  My friend was paid $50,000 to move out of 315 West 74th Street, when the building was developed.  I built the garage apartment over ten months at $2 an hour in Plandome Manor, so she could live there, but I guess she preferred to stay at the Carnegie Tower.  She could type 187 words a minute on the old word processors before computers.  I once visited the law office on Madison Avenue and 57th Street across the street from the IBM and AT&T buildings, and there was also an office there for British Boarding Schools there too.  There was also a private boys school on West 75th Street, where I could hear children playing frequently.  In that neighbor down towards Lincoln Center, they had about hundred American Red Cross Ambulances and behind Lincoln Center, a 24 hour McDonalds, and just north of Lincoln Center, the Nevada meat company with all sorts of exotic meat from around the world.  Cafe Des Artistes was nearby on Central Park West where former mayor of New York City John Lindsay lived.  The Aga Khan also has a place on Central Park West with a Rolls Royce near Columbus Circle.  ABC News was also nearby.  Roosevelt St. Lukes Hospital was just south of Lincoln Center, but up Columbia University, Presbyterian Hospital is bigger NewYork-Presbyterian | New York Hospital & Health System (nyp.org) .  Even Bill Clinton went there a quadruble by pass heart operation.  Helen Clay Frick's brother from Alpine, New Jersey was also a doctor there, so the Frick family probably gave them some money and maybe even the Rockefeller family since they paid for the Union Theological Seminary nearby.  CIO

05/22/24 Wednesday 8:25 A.M.  When I went downtown, they were painting the cross walk stripes on West Putnam Avenue, so one had to drive in the left lane at the intersections.  I sat out for a while at the Senior and the Arts Center watching the water line construction.  I drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road.  They are setting up for some event at the Island Beach parking lot and Roger Sherman Park.  I then sat out some more at the Senior and the Arts Center.  I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com twice.  I bought a medium coffee there with Splenda sweetener and almond milk for about $3.59 off my Starbucks card.  I watched them pouring cement for the water line construction.  They have a new kind of cement truck which is more trapezoid than round.  I drove to www.cvs.com at Greenwich Avenue.  I sat out in the park across the street, and I chatted with a friend.  At CVS, I bought three more Folgers instant coffee for $5.99 each for $17.97 total.  I was told by the counter people at CVS that they are now paid $20 an hour.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  I bought a 30 ounce Simply Orange grapefruit juice for $5.39, deli sliced Virginia ham for $5.99 a pound for $6.14, deli sliced provolone cheese for $5.49 a pound for $5.49 for $17.02 total.  I then returned home.  I put away the groceries.  I put the grey bag back in the car.  I sat outside.  I filed this report.  I will now shut down the laptop computer.  I will eat a yogurt and a croissant.  I will then go to bed.  CIO

05/20/24 Monday 4:35 A.M.  I opened up the entry area of the living room by moving the Harvard chair and the white end table with the Dell 17.3 inch laptop to the left of the Samsung television in the northwest corner of the living room.  Thus the Ethan Allen recliner can now fully recline.  I moved the square end table from the left of the Samsung television to the right of the red leather Chesterfield chair.  From there I moved the dark oak end table to the left of the Queen Anne chair with the internet radios on it.  I put the folding oak TV table behind the bedroom door.  From the northwest corner of the living room, I moved the bent oak chair to the left side of the hallway entrance in front of the dark pine bookcase.  From the there, I moved the folding mahogany chair to the left side of the bed.

05/19/24 Sunday 11:35 P.M.  I rested until 9:40 P.M..  I went outside.  I then went out to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  They have now painted the new stripes on the repaved West Putnam Avenue.  I bought a five gallon bottle of Poland Spring water with bottle return for $9.99, a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.59, a 96 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $5.99, and a deli sliced package of Swiss cheese for $7.99 a pound for $5.75 for $23.32 total.  I then returned home.  I brought up the 42 pound bottle of Poland Spring water with my little folding cart and the other food, and I put it away.  I then put the folding cart and grey bag back in the car, and I drank a instant coffee outside.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside again.

The large wolf the size of a Great Dane in our neighborhood is probably the same wolf as last year, but it got larger.  Both of them are lame, so they are probably the same animal.  Thus it is use to our neighborhood.  Our patch of woods is very small, so I think the wolves come from the expensive piece of large woodlands on the east side of Bruce Park that a Chinese conservation group bought.  CIO

05/18/24 Saturday 10:20 P.M.  From the left side of the Samsung television, I moved the small dark oak end table to the right side of the red Chesterfield leather chair, and from there I moved the square end table to the left side of the Samsung television with the Apple Macbook Pro on it.  Thus there is more room to pull out the left bent oak chair at the teak dining table.  One could easily move the small dark oak end table to in front of the red leather Chesterfield chair for a visiting laptop too.

I disconnected the Dell 17.3 inch laptop LAN cable on the left side of teak dining table from the router and plugged in another LAN cable to the router to the Lenovo Mini on the desk.

05/18/24 Saturday 5:00 A.M.  On the Lenovo Mini with the latest Microsoft Windows 12 Canary beta, I installed and activated Office 2019 Professional, Microsoft Project 2021, and Microsoft Frontpage 2002.  I have all of the other apps on it including Norton Internet Security Deluxe.  I went outside midway through, and I drank a instant coffee.  I also did an Aomei backup of it to an external SSD drive.  Thus it is a good backup work computer to use with the HP 27 inch monitor.  One has to switch the LAN cable from the HP laptop to the Lenovo Mini to take it online.

05/16/24 Thursday 3:55 A.M.  I switched around the saddle color faux leather chair with the Queen Anne chair, so the Queen Anne chair works better with the cranberry color ottoman.  I then moved the small dark oak end table from in front of the end table between the Ethan Allen recliner and the faux leather chair to the left side of the Samsung television with the Apple MacBook Pro on it.  I put the folding oak TV table behind the bedroom door.  With the small dark oak end table moved, the saddle color faux leather is more easily accessed.  Also with it there one can easily look to the right from the desk to see the Samsung television more easily.

I moved the black piano bench at the kitchen entrance over to the left about eight inches.  I then switched around the faux leather chair with the red leather chair.  I then moved the square end table from the left side of the Samsung television to the right side of the red leather chair.  I then moved the Apple MacBook Pro to the left side of the Samsung television on a folding oak TV table.  From there I moved the Dell 17.3 inch laptop to left side of the teak dining table.  I was able to connect it up to the LAN by setting up the Ocean Digital internet radio to wireless and using its LAN cable.

05/15/24 Wednesday 8:35 P.M.  I went outside.  I then went out.  I toured the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop on Hamilton Avenue which is probably named after Alexander Hamilton the founder of the first bank in America, the Bank of New York with the Roosevelt's pirate money.  I then sat out at Grass Island for a while.  I then drove downtown to the Board of Education Veterans monument, and I sat out for a while.  I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com .  I then sat out for a while.  I then drove to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I paid a $1.50 in quarters to park for an hour in front of Funky Monkey toy store which after 5 P.M., I did not need to do so.  I toured CVS.  I then sat out in the park across the street.  I then bought a Anne's croissant at CVS with $2 in bonus bucks from a previous purchase.  I ate in the park across the street.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  I bought from the clearance shelf two 4 packs of croissants for $2.89 each four pack, a package of deli sliced white American cheese for $5.99 a pound for $5.54, and a package of German baloney for $2.99 a pound for $3.08 for $14.40 total.  I then returned home.  I picked up the mail.  I put away my groceries.  I went outside, and I drank a instant coffee.  I chatted with a friend.  I threw out the garbage.

I moved small dark oak table from the left side of the red leather Chesterfield chair to in front of the end table between the Ethan Allen recliner and the Queen Anne chair.  I put a folding oak TV table on the left side of the red leather Chesterfield chair with the two internet radios and the green Greek column lamp on it.

05/14/24 Tuesday 10:20 P.M.  I went out to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  They have painted the lengthwise stripes on West Putnam Avenue, but they still have not painted the cross walk stripes.  I bought two six packs of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.59 each six pack, a package of Toufani spinach wraps for $4.99, and deli sliced German baloney for $2.99 a pound for $3.06 for $11.23 total.  I then returned home, and I put away the food.  I then sat outside.

To make more room to access the Queen Anne chair, I moved the square Danish end table from in between the Ethan Allen recliner and the Queen Anne chair to the left side of the Samsung television with the Dell 17.3 inch laptop on it.  I moved the folding oak TV table behind the bedroom door.

05/14/24 Tuesday 12:50 A.M.  The order with tracking of Detailed Tracking (fedex.com) on the order for open box ottoman Lark Manor Aleli Upholstered Ottoman & Reviews | Wayfair for $41.19 arrived.  I tipped the Fedex man $5, but I carried up the 22 pound box myself from the entry way.  I screwed on the legs which were concealed inside the lower cushion.  It is made in Viet Nam.  I placed it in front of the red leather Chesterfield chair and the Queen Anne chair.

05/14/24 Tuesday 11:45 A.M.  Memories of cobble stones and bricks Nantucket Live Video Streaming Webcams of the Island .  They used to use cobble stones for ballast on ship, and I guess bricks too.  The west side highway in Manhattan used to be paved with Belgium blocks, but I was told somebody stole them.  Henry Kissinger's apartment building on East 52nd Street near the River Club used to have unique paving stones like hand carved stone blocks that were smaller than Belgium blocks.

05/14/24 Tuesday 12:15 A.M.  I went out to www.cvs.com at 644 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a SoundLogic Sonar-XT Gaming Headset for $22.89 total.  They still have another one left.  I then went to the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I filled up the tank with self service premium gasoline for $20.02 at $4.899 a gallon for 4.087 gallons at odometer reading of 125604 miles for 54.6 miles driven since Sunday April 28, 2024 for 13.36 miles per gallon in local traffic.  I then returned home.  I hooked up the new headset to the Apple Macbook Pro laptop on the left side of the teak dining table.

05/13/24 Monday 7:05 P.M.  I channel surfed.  After almost eight months of interior decorating my apartment, I feel like I am losing my computer skills.

This time of year, if one can afford to venture to www.nantucket.net , one might still be able to get a dishwashing and pot scrubbing job at LE LANGUEDOC INN & BISTRO, Nantucket - Menu, Prices & Restaurant Reviews - Tripadvisor .  They can give a dishwasher a simple basement apartment on Hussey Street in their guest house which is a six foot by ten foot room with a bunk bed and bureau and use of the bathroom upstairs in their guest house which today would probably be a $100 a week or more.  However, such Spartan conditions today might be considered pretty close to slave labor.  The wage in Massachusetts is only $13 an hour for dishwashers.  Still if one likes a hermit's life out in the middle of nowhere, it is an alternative.  I guess I have a PHD in dishwashing and pot scrubbing out on Nantucket after doing that for about five years all together out there and briefly in Boca Raton in Florida.

05/13/24 Monday 12:45 A.M.  I watched off Amazon Prime, "Openheimmer, the Real Story."  I went outside twice, and once I drank a instant coffee.  I discovered the last place I lived in Manhattan at West 74th Street near Riverside Park was only a block away from the Openheimmer apartment building.  It is a famous Jewish neighborhood made famous by Stephan Birmingham's book, "Our Crowd."  Maybe I was walking the dogs around famous people.

I also moved the Microsoft Surface RT on the left side of the teak dining table to the back side of the table.  I then moved from the white end table behind the Ethan Allen recliner the Apple Macbook Pro to the left side of the teak dining table.  I then moved the second Dell 17.3 inch laptop from the left side of the Samsung television to the white end table behind the Ethan Allen recliner. 

Also Oppenheimer liked going to St. John's in the Virgin Islands where the Rock Resort Caneel Bay Plantation is.  Back around October 1973, I was sitting in a pub near the St. John ferry dock on St. Thomas and two British Naval officers sat behind me, and one of them looked like Prince Charles.  When I went to St. John's, I applied for a job at the Caneel Bay Plantation, but they were not very busy.  I also learned a former student at Lake Forest College runs the yacht club at St. John's and is also involved in the United States Olympic sailing team.  However, I am not supposed to tan anymore.

05/12/24 Sunday 8:05 A.M.  I channel surfed.  There was a program on the National Geographic channel about Florida Panthers.  Back around February 1979, when I was driving out of Key West back to Daytona, I pulled off the highway and slept with a friend in my old Subaru on west side of Boca Raton near the Polo fields.  At sunrise in the early morning mist, I woke up to see a big five foot high Florida Panther staring at us about fifty feet in front of us.  I guess it had never seen a Subaru before or some other curiosity that attracted its attention.  Howard Hughes designed the original Subaru base on aeronautics, and they first tested them at a track in Fort Lauderdale, when they came to this country.  Hughes Medical also had a medical building on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale and lots of people wore TWA hats.  CIO

05/12/24 Sunday 12:40 A.M.   I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of Virginia ham with six deli slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of sweet peas with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.  I will now rest a bit.  CIO

05/11/24 Saturday 9:25 P.M.  I went out to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  West Putnam Avenue is repaved from the Greenwich Library west to the New York border.  They still need to put the new stripes on the road though.  I bought a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.59, a 12 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $16.99, a package of deli sliced white American cheese for $5.99 a pound for $5.93, and a package of deli sliced ham for $6.49 a pound for $4.96 for $29.47 total.  I then returned home, and I put away my food.  I put the grey bag back in the car.  I sat outside.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside and drink a instant coffee.  Instant coffee is still fairly cheap in American unlike everything else.  CIO

I moved the Harvard chair in front of the white end table with the Apple Macbook Pro on it. From there, I moved the folding mahogany table to the left side of the hallway in front of the dark pine bookcase. I set up the Microsoft Surface RT on the left side of the teak dining table to have available.  I never eat there.

05/11/24 Saturday 5:30 A.M.  To make my apartment more Apple friendly, I moved the small white end table from the left side of the Samsung television to behind the Ethan Allen recliner with the small folding mahogany chair at it and with the Apple Macbook Pro laptop hooked up to it with wireless not LAN.  I then moved the square end table from between the Ethan Allen recliner and the Queen Anne chair to the left side of the Samsung television with the Dell laptop stack on it.  Some influential people prefer Apple to Windows, but as far as I can tell, nobody ever visits.  Still as I sort of used to try to do, it could be an American Red Cross situation room should we have any unforeseen disasters like we did on 911.  My American Red Cross friends that worked in a tent full of body parts after 911 will be visiting Manhattan this Tuesday for a while.  Let's hope they do not face anymore disasters like they have in the past.

05/11/24 Saturday 3:50 A.M.  I watched part of, "Patton."  I first saw it when it first came out at a drive in movie theatre in Framingham, Mass. in my old 1951 Mercedes 300 B sedan.  Back then Framingham made Carling beer and fiberglass shells for dune buggies which they put on old volkswagon chassis.  The last time I went through there helping to transport a young German bicycle rider, they had a charging station on the Mass. Pike in Framingham.  Not much ever changes in Boston however, because they are lost in time.

05/10/24 Friday 2:15 A.M.  I channel surfed.  Although I pay about $135 a month for Cable Television, for more than the last seven months in reorganizing my apartment, I have not had that much time to watch too much television.  I will now shut down the laptop computer.  I will eat a yogurt.  I will then go to bed.  There was an article in the Greenwich Times about two days ago that the construction on Greenwich Avenue at night is going to on for another two or three months.  It must be hard to sleep there at night with all of the heavy construction going on.  They are still working on lower Greenwich Avenue, so I guess it will take a while for them to work their way up to the top of Greenwich Avenue.  CIO

05/10/24 Friday 12:30 A.M.   I moved the blue ottoman from the sitting area to in front of the saddle color faux leather in the center of the entry area of the apartment.  Having been in Turkey in May 1972 once the Ottoman Empire, I happened to know ottomans belong in a center area of a room and not just a foot stool.  Now I could possibly hold up a small stand up ice tea party in the living room sitting area besides watching television.  The Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Park Avenue in Manhattan used to have a very large ottoman in the center of the Palm Court entrance.

I moved the blue ottoman from in front of the Ethan Allen recliner to in front of the Queen Anne chair and the red leather Chesterfield chair.  That way the Ethan Allen recliner can now fully recline.  Most of the United States of America is made up of couch potatoes, but some people prefer recliners.

05/09/24 Thursday 6:50 P.M.  I moved the end table between the Ethan Allen recliner and the Queen Anne chair back about a foot.  I then moved the small square end table from in front of the Queen Anne chair and the red leather chesterfield chair to in front of the other end table, and I put the Lenovo Google display on it.  Thus the sitting area is now more open.

05/09/24 Thursday 4:45 P.M.  I went downtown to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue.  I paid a $1.50 in quarters to park for an hour.  I had to wait a while to pick up a prescription.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a five gallon bottle of Poland Spring water with bottle return for $9.99 total.  I then returned home.  I brought up the 42 pound bottle of water with my little folding cart, and I put it away underneath the teak dining table with the other two bottles.  I also did not get any mail.  I then put the folding cart back in the car, and I drank a instant coffee outside.  I filed this report.  CIO

05/08/24 Wednesday 3:25 P.M.  I went downtown to the Board of Education parking lot, and I paid $3 to park for three hours.  I chatted with a relative.  At 1 P.M., I met up with two relatives at Meli Meli, and I had an early birthday lunch.  I ate a grilled chicken salad for $14 with a glass of water.  I then walked my relatives back to their car.  I sat out briefly in front of the Senior and the Arts Center.  I then drove to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I paid a dollar in quarters to park for an hour.  I picked up a prescription.  I then returned home.  I drank a instant coffee outside.  I picked up my mail.  I chatted with a relative.  I will now go outside again.  The new 14000 BTU LG portable air conditioners is working just fine in the living room.  It is 111 degrees Fahrenheit outside my windows and 73 degrees Fahrenheit in the living room.  After a long cold winter, I am still use to being cool.  CIO

05/06/24 Monday 6:35 P.M.  I channel surfed.  I watched Rich Steve's program about Copenhagen, Denmark.  When I left Oslo, Norway in April 1983, I changed jets in Copenhagen airport, but I never left the airport.  I did buy two cartons of Prince filtered cigarettes.  Supposedly at some time in the past the Queen and Prince of Denmark vacationed in Key West and at one time the Virgin Islands were part of Denmark, so besides the Danish Bakeries at Publix Grocery Stores in Florida, there might be a few Danish people down South.

I moved the new saddle color faux leather chair to the right of the black piano bench to the right of the kitchen entrance.  From there I moved the red leather Chesterfield chair to the left of the new portable LG air conditioner and the right of the Queen Anne chair.  I think it looks better that way, and it permits more air to circulate around the portable air conditioner.

I will now go outside and drink a Maxwell Instant coffee with Splenda sweetener and vanilla unsweetened almond milk.  I also still have some Nescafe instant coffee left.  When I was in Europe in the winter and spring of 1972, I learned Nescafe owned by Nestle is the world's largest coffee company.  They also own the Starbucks line of products for distribution.  I have not spent too much time in Switzerland but traveling through it on a train to France from Italy around February 1972, and when I attended the Winter Olympics in France in the winter of 1992, I did a day trip to Geneva.  There is a eight lane highway from France to Switzerland, so I guess a lot of French people go there.  In Switzerland, they speak French, German, Italian and some language like Cantonese.  When I was in Frankfurt, Germany around Christmas Time in 1980, there were a lot of signs in the railroad station for Gstadd, where there used to be a private boys' boarding school in the winter, where the Aga Khan attended, so I guess he learned how to ski and mountain climb.  Legally the Aga Khan I think is a Swiss Citizen.  CIO

05/06/24 Monday 8:35 A.M.  I went out downtown.  I stopped by the www.chase.com Bank ATM machine on Greenwich Avenue.  I then sat out in front of the Senior and the Arts Center for a long time.  I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com .  I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue.  I sat out in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park until CVS opened.  At CVS, I used the bathroom.  I bought a 15 count package of Depends extra large diapers with discount coupon for $8.49.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99, a package of deli sliced ham for $6.99 a pound for $7.23, two four packs of Dannon yogurt for $3.50 each four pack, a 48 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $4.49, and a 32 ounce Simply Orange grapefruit juice for $5.39 for $26.10 total.  I then returned home.  I put away my groceries.  I put the grey bag back in the car.  I drank a instant coffee outside.  CIO

05/06/24 Monday 3:25 A.M.  On the bed, I took off the winter wool blanket and the white comforter, and I put them on the left closet shelf in the bedroom.  I put clean linens on the bed.  I also put on the light white blanket and the pink and green quilt.  I went outside, and I drank a instant coffee.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I started two loads of wash, and I have 40 minutes to go on the wash cycles.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

05/06/24 Monday 1:50 A.M.  I woke up at 12:20 A.M..  I made my bed.  The order with tracking of Track Package (amazon.com) for Amazon.com : DEL MONTE Sweet Peas Canned Vegetables, 12 Pack, 15 oz Can : Grocery & Gourmet Food and Amazon.com : Del Monte Canned Harvest Select Fresh Cut Whole Kernel Sweet Gold & White Corn, 15.25 Ounce (Pack of 12) : Canned And Jarred Corn : Grocery & Gourmet Food for $25.22 total.  About half of it was charged to my State of Connecticut EBT Food Stamps card arrived.  I stored the can food in the cabinet above the stove.  The corn was only in seven ounce cans.  I threw out the shipping box.  I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English  muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice, and a instant coffee outside.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  CIO

05/05/24 Sunday 6:50 A.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of Virginia ham with six deli slices of smoked Dutch gouda cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of mixed vegetables with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.  I will now rest a bit.  CIO

News Talk 105.9 WMAL | Making Sense Of The News .  In their advertisement, they said people should take off an explore America, but there is nothing in the wilds of America but cows and corn, which I already knew from having driven across the United States of America 4.5 times in the late 1980s.  CIO

05/05/24 Sunday 3:05 A.M.  I am listening to the BBC World Service off the Ocean Digital Internet Radio.  From the laptop stack on the left side of the Samsung television, I moved the bent oak chair with blue cushion to the left side of the bed.  I moved the Harvard chair with the red cushion to the laptop stack on the left side of the Samsung television.  On the laptop stack, I updated the Apple Mac Book Pro apps.  I then moved it to the bookshelf to the left.  I then worked with the Dell 17.3 inch laptop with dual boot of Windows 10 and Windows 12 beta Canary on it.  I left it setup.

05/04/24 Saturday 11:15 A.M.  I went out to the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop, and I bought a very nice hard wood two foot by 30 inch end table for $40.  I returned home, and I installed it on the left side of the Samsung television supporting the stack of laptop computers.  It is very sturdy, so one does not have to worry about it falling over like the folding oak TV table.

05/04/24 Saturday 9:45 A.M.  I drove downtown to the Board of Education Parking lot veterans monument.  The rose color tulips are about gone.  I chatted with a friend on my cell phone whom is going fishing for striped bass.  I think in Connecticut, one needs a fishing license though.  I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com .  I stopped by Zen Stationary, and I bought a "Line-Em-Up" scratch card for a dollar, and I lost as usual to the Bank of Bombay.  I sat out some more at the Senior and the Arts Center.  I then drove to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I toured the store.  I sat out for a while in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park for a while.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  I bought two 48 ounce diet Ocean Spray cranberry juice for $3.69 each, a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99, a package of deli sliced white American cheese for $3.99 a pound for $4.01, a package of expensive deli sliced ham on sale for $6.99 a pound for $6.78 for $20.16 total.  I then returned home.  I put away my groceries.  I went outside, and I put the grey bag back in the car.  I drank a instant coffee outside.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

05/03/24 Friday 5:25 A.M.  I channel surfed.  It seems to be the usual early morning programming that most of which I have seen before.  CIO

05/03/24 Friday 4:35 A.M.  I tried to figure out something more creative to do.  I went outside, and I drank a instant coffee.  I moved the bent oak chair with the blue cushion from the bedroom to the left side of the hallway in front of the dark pine bookcase.  I moved the folding mahogany chair from there to the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner underneath the orange and gold mirror underneath mirror that covers the circuit breaker box in the apartment.  From the bedroom wall opposite the bed, I moved the map of Magellan map to the right side of the white bureau.  Since the old United States Government as we are supposed to know it from Cable TV and the Internet is supposed to pay for most of our expenses here, I hung the United States of America flag on that vacant wall opposite the bed.  One hangs it with the stars in the upper left corner.  The other way would mean distress.  I still have the old 49 star big U.S.A. flag stored away in the top white bureau drawer.  I bought it from the Visiting Nurse thrift shop in New Canaan next to the New Canaan fire department right before the George H. W. Bush inaugural for $5 from a Mrs. Garland there.  It is very large, and would be two difficult to hang again.  One of these day, I have to put my summer bedding on the bed, but it sometimes still gets cooler.

I moved the Harvard chair with the red cushion to in front of the center living room window to the left of the new portable air conditioner.  From there, I moved the red leather Chesterfield chair to the right of the black piano bench with the two line telephone on it on the right side of the kitchen entrance.  From there I moved the bent oak chair to in front of the laptops to the left of the Samsung television.  When the orange faux leather chair comes, I will put it where the Harvard chair is to the left of the portable air conditioner, and I will move the Harvard chair to in front of the laptops to the left of the Samsung television.  From there, I will put the bent oak chair with blue cushion to the left of the hallway entrance in front of the dark pine bookcase.  From there, I will move the folding mahogany chair to the left side of the bed in the bedroom.  The orange faux leather chair might come on Tuesday May 7, 2024 which is Victory in Europe Day including the Netherlands Dutch House of Orange.  I once knew somebody from New Hope, Pennsylvania with a nice horse farm where all of the antique shops are, and he claimed to be a Knight of the House of Orange.  He also kept his first tiny apartment in Manhattan near the old Whitney Museum.  Although he was from Mississippi having read the local press in Decatur, Alabama; I knew the Astor family from Manhattan also used to winter vacation on a plantation in Mississippi, and I read around 1958, when one of the Astors died, his relative inherited a big chunk of Manhattan.  Also Elvis was from that area of the country.

05/02/24 Thursday 10:45 P.M.  I woke up about 9:30 P.M..  I went outside.  The new portable air conditioner was leaking a bit of water on the drain tray underneath it.  I looked at this the LG web page for the model LG LP1420BSR.ABLAOSH: Support, Manuals, Warranty & More | LG USA Support , and it mentioned there is a second lower drain plug.  I looked at it on the new portable air conditioner, and indeed it was left open, which probably caused the problem.  I screwed it shut, and I turned on the unit, to see if that solved the problem.

05/02/24 Thursday 8:35 P.M.  I turned off the cooling systems.  I think I need a more comfortable chair by the telephone at the apartment entrance instead of the hard wood www.harvard.edu chair, so I ordered Ivy Bronx Faux Leather Armchair | Wayfair for $130.16.  I will move the Harvard chair in front of the laptops to the right of the portable air conditioner.  I will now shut down the laptop computer, and I will go to bed.  CIO

05/02/24 Thursday 7:05 P.M.  I went out, and I toured the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.  I then sat out at Grass Island.  I then went to the Senior and the Arts Center.  I sat out for a long time.  I used the bathroom there twice.  There were a lot of bumble bees by the benches in front of the Senior and the Arts Center.  I then drove to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue.  I paid $1.50 in quarters to park there for an hour.  I used the bathroom there, and I toured the store.  I sat out for a while.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a package of Toufani spinach wraps for $4.99 and a 64 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $4.49 for $9.48 total.  I then returned home.  I picked up the mail.  I put away my groceries.  I turned on the new portable air conditioner, and I also turned on the three fans in the living room.  It was 105 degrees Fahrenheit outside my living room windows and 82 degrees Fahrenheit in the living room.  It will cool down a bit once the sun goes down.  I went outside, and I drank a instant coffee.  I chatted with a friend.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

The order with tracking of Detailed Tracking (fedex.com) on the order for Amazon.com: LG 18 inch Portable Air Conditioner with 14000 BTU (Renewed) : Home & Kitchen for $308.36 arrived.  The Fedex man delivered it to inside my apartment even carrying the 85 pound box up six stairs.  I tipped him $10.  I setup the new portable air conditioner where the other one was.  I had to push the reset button on the plug.  It did turn on.  However, I will not try to run it until it sits for at least six hours to let the Freon settle.  It stored the new exhaust parts that I did not need on the far right window sill.  I threw out the shipping box.

05/02/24 Thursday 12:05 A.M.  I channel surfed.  I disconnected the five year old refurbished 14000 BTU LG portable air conditioner in the living room, and I rolled it into the northwest corner of the bedroom with the blue Rubbermaid hamper on top of it.  Thus on this Thursday morning, when the new one comes, it is ready to setup.  I put a blue cushion underneath the red cushion to make the Harvard chair more comfortable.  I moved the small brass desk lamp to the bookcase shelf above the laptops, so they now have light.  When the new LG portable air conditioner comes sometime this morning until 1 P.M., they leave it at the building entrance.  I will have to use my little folding cart now in my apartment to wheel up the 85 pound box, and I will have to slide it up the six steps outside my apartment.  It should be simple to setup.  If it has been on its side like a refrigerator, one has to weight six hours for the Freon to settle before turning it on.  I will store its box in the northwest corner of the bedroom for a week, until I am sure it is all right.  I might try to go to bed at 3 A.M. and get up at 9 A.M. to wait for it.

05/01/24 Wednesday 12:55 A.M.  From the teak dining table, I moved the Brother All Purpose laser machine to the far left of the living room window sill.  From the teak dining table, I moved the Panasonic two line telephone to the black piano bench end table on the right side of the kitchen entrance.  Now it is a more convenient place to talk on the telephone, when I get the orange faux leather chair next to it on the right.  Also the teak dining table is also more open.
