08/31/24 Saturday 11:40 P.M. I put away the clean laundry. At 10:55 P.M. the wolf walked by the picnic table and down to the baseball field headed towards Port Chester, where there might be more food.

08/31/24 Saturday 9:10 P.M. I woke up, and I ate a croissant. I finally woke up at 6:15 P.M. I made my bed. I went outside. I did not get any mail. I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice and vitamins and supplements, and an instant coffee outside. I showered, and I cleaned up. I went outside, and I drank an instant coffee. I moved the black piano bench from the bedroom to back in front of the white bureau on the left side of the hallway entrance.

I was charged $34.02 for Tech Support at Network Solutions, which I never used, but I cancelled it, but they will not refund the most recent monthly charge.

08/31/24 Saturday 12:25 A.M. When I last lived in Manhattan until February 1982 around 315 West 74th Street at the Van Duzen family town house, I like walking the white German Shepard through Central Park and looking at the white Polar Bear in the Central Park Children's Zoo near Nelson Rockefeller's apartment building. However, at the time the monkeys in the zoo were being better fed than I was. An expensive meal at that time was a roast beef sandwich on a Kaiser roll from Gristedes on West 72nd Street for about $1.79.
I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate. I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise. I then alternated it with six deli slices of deli ham with six deli slices of Van Kass smoked Dutch Gouda cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half. I ate it with a 15 ounce can of sweet peas with Smart Balance spread and a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice. The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.
I will now go outside and drink a brewed coffee.

I bought a five gallon bottle of Poland Spring water with bottle return for $9.99, two 11.5 ounce Stouffers Swedish meatballs for $3.50 each, a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99, a package of deli sliced honey ham for $6.99 a pound for $6.99, a package of deli sliced white American cheese for $4.99 a pound for $4.99, a 64 ounce Almond breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $5.99 and a package of Mission spinach wraps for $4.69 for $41.64 total. I then returned home. I used my little folding cart to bring up the 42 pound bottle of Poland Spring water, and I put the food way. There are a lot of five gallon bottles of Poland Spring water at the Stop and Shop. I put the folding cart and the grey bag back in the car. I drank an instant coffee outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside again.

Alas it seems most of the people in Greenwich are interested in money instead of reading all of the time.
We do have a good library Home | Greenwich Library which seems to have forgotten about me, since I am a bit too old for the younger generation there.

I bought a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99, six 20 ounce cans of Stop and Shop pineapple chunks for $1.69 a can, a package of Mission spinach wraps for $4.69, from the clearance section a box of four croissants for $2.89, a package of deli sliced tavern ham for $4.99 a pound for $5.01, and a package of Van Kass Dutch gouda sliced cheese for $6.99 a pound for $7.23 for $31.95 total. I then returned home. I put away the food. I put the grey bag back in the car. I drank an instant coffee outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside again.

Nantucket used to have a youth hostel down by the beach on Surfside Road, but I do not think it is there anymore.
However, Martha's Vineyard used to have a large youth hostile that would sleep about 40 young people HI Martha’s Vineyard – Hostelling International (hihostels.com)
In my youth I explored both places around the summer of 1975. I had a roommate at www.lakeforest.edu my freshman year whose family also had a place on Martha's Vineyard by the dump.
Way out on Nantucket, I used to take naps on Benjamin Franklin's mother's grave in the Quaker cemetery, after which I became good in electronics.
In the summers of 1977 and 1978, I lived at the boarding house at 31 India Street which is not there anymore. In the summer of 1983, I lived in a small room without bath in the basement of the Grennon's guest house on Hussey Street, since I worked for them at the Le Languedoc restaurant.

Well, it does get cold here in Greenwich, Connecticut in the winter. When it gets colder like 40 degrees Fahrenheit at night in October, it takes one a couple of weeks to get used to it. However, once the winter sets in, one can get used to it a bit. I think that is because up North, one's blood does not thin out like down South. When I last ventured down to Key West in February 1982, when it was minus 26 degrees below zero Fahrenheit in Manhattan, when I got back up North that April through a strange set of circumstances, I was later told that the ice on Greenwich Harbor was all of the way out to the Island Beach, and the bodies were popping out of the cemeteries which can happen in extreme cold weather like happened a year and a half after Mount St. Helens erupted on May 8, 1980. Possibly the volcanic activity on the Kamchatka Peninsula in Eastern Russian will make for a colder weather this winter, since El Nino has also ended off the coast of Peru after three years.

When I first visited www.nantucket.net in the summer of 1968, I like the beach so much there, I went back there a number of times in the summer, until my family moved back from the Boston area in June 1973 to Greenwich. However, in my ventures into Manhattan; I met a few people whom vacationed out on Nantucket. Thus in the summer of 1975 and the summer of 1976, I returned to Nantucket for about a month each time. However, in the spring of 1977, when I returned from Florida; although my family still had a house in back country Greenwich, I once returned to the splendid isolation of Nantucket through Thanksgiving Time in 1977. One again the spring of 1978, I returned to Nantucket with a friend that I met in Key West, Florida through October 1978. I recall returning again for a couple of weeks in the Spring of 1979. I did returned again to Nantucket from April 1983 to December 1983, when I returned to Greenwich, where I have lived most of the time since June 1962. I did visit Nantucket for a weekend with a friend around the summer of 1987, which is the last time I have been there. At Lake Forest College and in Lake Forest, Illinois; there were also people whom went to Nantucket. However, at a senior age, I feel more comfortable in Greenwich where I have resided for the last 41 years.

08/25/24 Sunday 4:30 P.M. I moved the sitting furniture row in the living room nine inches closer to the windows, so the walk in area is even more open.

From the Samsung television in the living room, I moved the Boston Accoustics sound bar to the LG smart television in the bedroom, so the bedroom has better television sound. I also moved the black piano bench from the left side of the hallway entrance to in front of the mahogany bureau in the bedroom. Thus the sitting area in the living room is more opened.

08/25/24 Sunday 2:50 P.M. I woke up, and I ate some Pepperidge Farm goldfish crackers. I finally woke up at 1 P.M. I made my bed. I went outside. I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice and vitamins and supplements, and an instant coffee outside.
From the sitting area, I moved the red leather Chesterfield chair to in front of the Vizio TV computer setup at the apartment entrance. From there, I moved the black piano bench to in front of the white bureau on the left side of the hallway entrance. I moved the end table to the right of the Ethan Allen recliner about a foot to the right. I moved the Ethan Allen recliner a foot to the right. I moved the Ethan Allen laptop end table a foot to the left. Thus the entry area in the living room is more open.

08/24/24 Saturday 11:00 P.M. I have also visited www.usma.edu a number of times. I first visited with friends when I was fifteen years old for a football game. Afterwards, we were invited on the www.forbes.com Yacht the Highlander, where I signed my name after former President Hoover's name. Since I returned from www.nantucket.net on December 13, 1983; I have visited West Point about five times. The last time I recall visiting was when Bill Clinton's Defense Secretary Perry was speaking at graduation, and he said we should all get on the internet, which I was already on. They do have a Thrift Shop at West Point near Eisenhower Hall, but I have never visited it. I recall sitting at that graduation next to an www.army.mil Colonel in black uniform with crossed silver rifle lapels. The cadets all cheered him, when they saw him. However, at first I thought it might have been cheering for me. Fort Montgomery is on the North Side of West Point, and the Military Police there are huge people. They also have the Thayer Hotel at the entrance which might give military discounts. I also went to the Army Navy football game in Philadelphia the week after President Kennedy was assassinated.

08/24/24 Saturday 10:30 P.M. I checked out the Apple Mac Book Pro on top of the Dell 17.3 inch laptop on the Ethan Allen end table behind the saddle color faux leather chair. It seems to work just fine. There is only one LAN cable at that location, so to change to the Dell 17.3 inch laptop, one has to change the LAN cable. However, both laptops also work off the apartment wireless. I also went outside again.
08/24/24 Saturday 9:30 P.M. I polished my like new Timberland thick sole shoes with the Kiwi conditioning oil. They now have to dry for a few hours. I got mine from Discount Shoes, Clothing & Accessories | 6pm for about $50 five years ago. Amazon.com: Timberland Men's Traditional Handsewn 3-Eyelet Classic Lug, Burgundy/Brown, 9M : Everything Else now $150 . I have lots of other size 9.5 shoes too. About the only thing deeply discounted on the internet over the years has been shoes.
08/24/24 Saturday 8:50 P.M. I went out to the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park, and I chatted with a friend. I went to www.cvs.com across the street twice. The first time, I bought a Kiwi shoe conditioner and Daisy croissant for 26 cents with a $4 off coupon from a previous purchase. I had the croissant for a picnic in the park. I then used the bathroom at CVS. I drove down to the Board of Education Veterans Monument bench, and I sat out for brief spell. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a 12 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $16.99, three four packs of Dannon Triple Zero vanilla yogurt for $4 each four pack, two 48 ounce Ocean Spray diet cranberry juice for $3.69 each, and a package of deli sliced ham for $4.99 a pound for $5.04, and two six packs of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99 each six pack for $45.39 total. I then went to Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $37 of self service premium gasoline for $4.899 a gallon for 7.553 gallons at odometer reading of 125998 miles for 93 miles driven since Wednesday July 31, 2024 for 12.313 miles per gallon in local traffic. I then returned home. I put away my groceries. I put the grey bag back in the car. I drank an instant coffee outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside again.

08/24/24 Saturday 4:25 P.M. Since I never recline the Ethan Allen recliner, I moved the Ethan Allen table behind it with the blue ottoman on its right at the apartment entrance. I put the small brass and glass table in between with the Panasonic two line telephone on it. I moved the Chinese lamp from the Ethan Allen table to the end table at the kitchen entrance, and from there I moved the brass lamp to the Ethan Allen end table.

I like the beach at the end of the runway out on Nantucket. The owner of the Home - Le Languedoc Bistro & Inn was a retired Air Force Major, and they use to have the microwave towers for the NORAD early warning system out on Nantucket, so maybe I was in the www.af.mil until the www.army.mil took over me down here. Of course in Cayo Hueso, they also had the www.navy.mil . Of course in all three of those places, they also have United States Coast Guard (uscg.mil) . My last boss at Polaroid in the research photography department was retired from Air Force Intelligence too. Pete Bolton's father was a colonel in the Army when I lived with him in Port Washington, Long Island with his son. Fred Von Mierers seemed to know some Marine Honor Guards around the www.un.org at 420 East 49th Street now the German Consulate. At www.lakeforest.edu , it was next to Fort Sheridan and Great Lakes Naval Station. George Cary's grandfather Jay Coogan went to Sandhurst. He also knows Admiral Halsey's son. Decatur, Alabama was 20 miles from the Redstone Arsenal. Pensacola, Florida has Navy people. Thus I have a bit of experience as a civilian living around some military locations. Like Hurry Up and Wait.

08/23/24 Friday 9:10 P.M. I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate. I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise. I then alternated it with six deli slices of Hillshire ham with six deli slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half. I ate it with a 15 ounce can of sweet peas with Smart Balance spread and a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice. The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.
I will now rest a bit.

On the second down Lenovo Mini on the Vizio computer stack, I did a low level format with the Hirens BCD pen drive boot, and then from the Hirens OS, I restored the Aomei backup of the Lenovo Mini at the top of the stack. It then actived Office 2019 on it with telephone dialup with this product key Microsoft Office 2019 Pro Plus Key - Phone Activation - Cheap Price – RoyalCDKeys for $1.90 and Project 2021 Microsoft Project Pro 2021 Global Key – RoyalCDKeys for $5.04. I renamed the computer. Norton Internet Security 360 is activated on it. I am now doing an Aomei backup of it to the external SSD drive. I went outside in the process. There are now to indentical installs in the two Lenovo Minis in the Vizio mini computer stack.

I then went to the Greenwich Common, and I had a picnic. I used the bathroom at the Senior and the Arts Center. I returned home. I sat outside. I moved the folding mahogany chair to the side of the Ethan Allen recliner. I took the blue cushion off of it, and I put it on the square end table in the bedroom. I moved the Dell 17.3 inch laptop setup to the side of the Ethan Allen end table. I moved the small dark oak end table from the right side of the Vizio TV set to in front of the Ethan Allen end table. Thus the left side of the teak dining table is opened for dining.

08/22/24 Thursday 1:25 P.M. I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop on Hamilton Avenue. I bought the Ethan Allen end table for $25. I was able to fit it in the front seat of the Volvo. I used my older folding cart to bring it up to the apartment. I put it on the right side of the Dutch Blue ottoman at the apartment entrance. From there, I moved the square end table to the left of the dark pine bookcase in the bedroom. I moved the octagon end table to the right side of the Queen Anne chair. I will throw out the round end table that was on the right side of the Queen Anne chair.

I then bought a jar of Folgers Instant coffee for $1.99 with bonus bucks from the previous purchase. I sat out in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park, and I chatted with a friend. I then drove down to the Senior and the Arts Center. I sat outside for a while, and I used the bathroom there. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a 48 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $5.99, two 15 ounce Marie Callender chicken pot pies for $3.50 each, a package of Mission spinach wraps for $4.69, and a five gallon bottle of Poland Spring water with bottle return for $9.99 for $27.67 total. I then returned home. I used my little cart with the bungee cords to bring up the 42 pound bottle of water. I put the food away. I put the folding cart and grey bag back in the car. I drank an instant coffee outside. I chatted with a friend that just go back from a week in Toronto. I filed this report. I will now go outside again.

For college education in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; there is University of Toronto (utoronto.ca) and York University | Right the Future that has the Scott Home - Scott Library (yorku.ca) . If one knows French in Montreal, Quebec, Canada; there is McGill University . The last time, I went up there was when I left www.nantucket.net in December 1983, and I flew out of Hyannis with Jackie Onassis to LaGuardia airport in New York City, and then I took the enjoyable www.amtrak.com train ride up the Hudson River to Toronto. I stayed on the red leather couch at the Anglican Seminary at the University of Toronto. They have a nice indoor swimming pool. Nearby was the world's largest travel book store with an outdoor ice skating rink. Both Toronto and Montreal have lots of underground streets, so one does not have to go out in the cold in the winter. I went to a pub called "The Barn" which had a lot of tall men. I bought my Icelandic knit cap for $40. I also went to a pub called "Chaps". I saw a lot of younger people with my look coming from the Toronto arena. Of course it is much colder up there, so in the winter, one probably needs a set of Men's Two-Layer Union Suit | Base Layers at L.L.Bean (llbean.com) . Of course down here in Greenwich at the edge of the tropics, it does not get as cold as Canada. In Calgary, Canada also the some time resident in Greenwich the Aga Khan has two car dealerships, and he also has a cultural center somewhere in Canada too. There are Seiks from India up in Canada, and they do not mind the cold weather. You know those guys with the black beards and turbans.

I moved the square Danish end table from the bedroom to in front of the octagon end table with the Panasonic two line telephone on it. In the bedroom, I moved the bent pine chair from the end of the bed to the outside wall with the small brass and glass table on its left with the Panasonic two line telephone on it.

08/21/24 Wednesday 12:25 A.M. I moved the folding mahogany chair made in Viet Nam from the kitchen entrance to left side of the bedroom entrance on the left side of the mahogany bureau. I can not photograph it, because the Cannon camera battery is charging up. I also moved the new grey sleeping pad underneath the saddle color faux leather chair. There is still plenty of room to sleep on the floor at the apartment entrance area. Fred Von Mierers who was trained by his Aunt Agatha in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts use to have his house guest sleep on the floor. Helen Clay Frick also tore down at 250 room house in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts.

From in front of the white bureau on the left side of the hallway entrance, I moved the black lacquer piano bench with the two navy blue cushions to in front of the Vizio television mini computer setup at the apartment entrance. From there, I moved the big Dutch blue ottoman to a foot behind the Ethan Allen recliner, so the Ethan Allen recliner still fully reclines. I moved the new grey sleeping pad rolled up to the left side of the bedroom entrance.

08/20/24 Tuesday 7:35 P.M. The order with tracking of Tracking | UPS - United States on the order for Zone Tech Outdoor Camping Cot Pads Grey (woot.com) for $26.58 total arrived. I rolled it up, and I put it underneath the black lacquer piano bench in front of the white bureau to the left of the hallway entrance. It can be rolled out in the entrance area of the apartment in case I ever should have a guest. Also the Ethan Allen recliner now reclines for a guest to sleep on.

I then had a picnic in the Greenwich Common which the Alliance Francaise paid a million dollars to redo a few years ago. I then used the bathroom at the Senior and the Arts Center. I then sat out in front of the Senior and the Arts Center. I then paid a $1.50 in quarters to park at www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue. From there, I moved the bent pine chair to the right side of the teak dining table. From there, I move the folding mahogany chair to the kitchen entrance. I moved the saddle color faux leather chair to the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner. From there, I moved the small cranberry ottoman to in front of the Ethan Allen recliner. From the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner, I moved the large Dutch Blue ottoman to the Vizio mini computer TV setup at the apartment entrance. I also moved the octagon end table back a bit. From there, I moved the Panasonic two line telephone to the new square end table at the kitchen entrance. I also moved the small Alexa display to the right side of the keyboards on the Vizio mini computer setup. Now the Ethan Allen recliner can fully recliner without having to move anything.

Tour the Rockefeller Estate Kykuit | National Trust for Historic Preservation (savingplaces.org) . It used to be cheaper, if one were in Manhattan to tour www.rockefeller.edu on East 67 Street and the East River, where at the cafeteria, one could get an apple for a dollar, a yogurt for a dollar, and a coffee for a dollar, and no tips were required. It is on the south side of Sloan Kettering Hospital, so it is a relatively safe neighborhood except for the usual Manhattan traffic. I think they also have a animal hospital there and a helicopter pad, the last I looked when I toured it thirty years ago at night giving a ride to someone from Bermuda, when I got mugged by that person on the Fourth of July.
08/20/24 Tuesday 10:35 A.M. I went downtown to the Senior and the Arts Center. I used the bathroom there twice. I bought a medium coffee with Equal sweetener and cream for $1.75, and I drank it in their front yard. I went to Zen Stationary, and I bought a Sunny Money scratch card for a dollar, and as usual I lost as usual to the Bank of Bombay. The www.apple.com store is still opened, and they are remodeling though. The store front where the Tesla show room used to be is being remodeled into a physical fitness store. I then went to the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop on Hamilton Avenue, and I toured the store. They still have that $500 Ethan Allen end table which is now only $25. They also have lots of sofas if you know somebody with a truck. They also have a big heavy dark pine bureau for only $25. They also have two nice little small wedgewood ash trays for $8 each. I then returned home, and I sat outside briefly. I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of sweet peas with Smart Balance spread. The slices of deli baloney I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a baloney and cheese wrap.

At around 7 A.M. this morning three semi trucks going North and South crashed in Greenwich on Interstate I-95 during the tropical storm rain. At this time Interstate I-95 still seems to be still blocked off, and all of the traffic is moving at a snail's pace on the Boston Post Road. I went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I got my flu shot and my second shingles shot. I toured the store twice more. I sat out in the rain in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park with my umbrella. There were lots of people downtown in the rain. I chatted with a friend twice.

From there, I move the cranberry ottoman to the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner with the larger Dutch blue ottoman between the cranberry ottoman and the octagon end table. Thus if one quickly moved the saddle color faux leather chair to the right side of the Harvard chair, one could recline and rest in the Ethan Allen recliner.

08/18/24 Sunday 4:55 A.M. From the Northwest corner in the living room, I moved the Harvard chair to the Vizio mini computer TV setup at the apartment entrance. From there, I moved the bent pine chair to the Northwest corner of the living room at the laptop setup on the left side of the Samsung television. At www.harvard.edu the Harvard chair now costs about $800, so it is not clutter. I got it for $45 at the old Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop donated by Howard Prince whomever he is. The Harvard chair supports a bigger person, and it was designed hundreds of years ago, so the Harvard students could not hit each other over the head in the Harvard dining room.

From there, I moved the saddle color faux leather chair behind the Ethan Allen recliner with the cranberry ottoman on its right side. I moved the Dell 17.3 inch laptop on the left side of the teak dining table, and I have the small dark oak table on the left side of the Vizio setup holding the mini computers. I think that makes the entry area more open. As kids, the Scott family like playing musical chairs.

I then bought a Anne's croissant for $1.99. I then drove down to the Board of Education Veterans monument parking lot bench, and I ate the croissant. I chatted with a friend. I then used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I then went to Whole Foods, and I toured the store. I bought a sesame seed bagel for $1.25. I then ate it at the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought two six packs of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99 each six pack and two 13.5 ounce Marie Callender chicken Alfredo meals for $3.50 each for $10.98 total. I then returned home. I used my little folding cart to bring up the soda, and I put the food away. I put the folding cart and grey bag back in the car, and I drank an instant coffee outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside again. Basically since I started smoking cigar cigarettes again about five years ago, I have lost 65 to 75 pounds from 265 pound, and I am now 190 to 200 pounds, but I am not able to exercise walk anymore. However, I still climb the flight of stairs on the east side of the building all of the time to go outside and smoke in the world of fresh air every hour.

08/17/24 Saturday 6:25 A.M. I moved the bent pine chair from the left side of the teak dining table to in front of the Vizio TV mini computer setup. From there I moved the smaller folding mahogany chair to the left side of the teak dining table.
The Lenovo Mini on the desk besides the HP laptop has the latest Microsoft Windows 12 beta Canary configured on it with Office 2019 and Microsoft Project. On the laptop stack on the Vizio TV setup, the top one is the same Lenovo Mini configured the same way. I now have it connected up again. The Lenovo mini down has Microsoft Windows 11 configured with www.openoffice.org . The next one down is the older Apple Mini with the Catalina OS and Office 2019. The bottom Apple Mini down has the Monterey OS with Office 2019 configured on it, and it is also connected up. One can easily change to the two middle mini computer by changing the connections. All five mini computers have Norton Internet Security 360 installed on them good until September 11, 2025. Beta testers are busy all of the time in this neck of the woods.

08/16/24 Friday 11:35 A.M. On the Lenovo Mini beta computer, I have Windows 11 in French installed and configured with www.openoffice.org. However, I threw out my French keyboard last December 2023. It seems to work just fine, however when one boots it, it gives the options for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Windows 10 give an error message that one has to press F9 and then boot Windows 11. Windows 11 at first boot up does work. I do not know how to change the boot manager in French and a lot of other system items in French, but the overall system does work. I also have Norton Internet Security 360 activated on it for another 26 days. The Lenovo Mini computers are 12 years old, so they probably don't work with the newer more advanced Linux operating systems.
08/16/24 Friday 10:20 A.M. On the Lenovo Mini beta computer on the Vizio television, I did not have a backup of its earlier Windows 12 beta Canary with product activation. Also installing several versions of Linux would not work with it. I have a Windows 11 beta configured in French that has no product activation problem, so I am now restoring it. It was previously installed on a Dell Desktop that was thrown away last December 2023. I knew enough French to figure out how to install it with www.openoffice.org .

08/16/24 Friday 8:15 A.M. Ubuntu would not install on the Lenovo Mini beta computer. I made a Linux Mint Virginia beta USB install key, and I did a low level format on the beta computer using Hirens Easy BCD pen drive, and I am now installing the Linux Mint beta.

08/16/24 Friday 7:05 A.M. I made and Ubuntu install pen drive. On the Lenovo Mini with the older Windows 12 beta Canary, I tried to install it as a dual boot install, but that would not work. I then tried to install it as a new install, and that did not work. I then did a low level format, and I am trying a new install of Ubuntu again. I can always restore the older Aomei backup of the older Windows beta 12 Canary if need be. I chatted with a friend. If Ubuntu does not work, I know Linux Vine will work, since I have had it on the same machine before.

I then alternated it with six deli slices of German baloney with six slices of Van Kass smoked Dutch gouda cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half. I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of green beans with Smart Balance spread. The slices of deli baloney I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a baloney and cheese wrap.

08/16/24 Friday 2:00 A.M. On a minor point of dispute with the local know it alls, besides Trimingham wool sweaters in Bermuda in April 1968, when I was there for about $20. Today Bermuda has gotten very expensive. Local New Yorkers lik e Michael Bloomberg have properties in Bermuda, and when I knew Frederick Von Mierers, when I first met him in October 1973, he was supposed to be designing a beach cabana there for Nelson Rockefeller, so possibly the Rockefeller family have other properties there. Also Bermuda became very popular when a daughter of Queen Victoria married a wealthy Canadian and chose to live in Bermuda, because it was too cold in Canada. Also Jimmy Gooslee from Charles Street in Greenwich Village was from the family that started the first company in Bermuda. On a minor business note besides resort activity Bermuda is supposed to be the corporate headquarters of the second largest reinsurance company in the world after Lloyds of London. Usually reinsurance companies have a bit of spare change, so they probably know how to deal with a hurricane should it hit Bermuda. However, having tracked hurricanes many times in the past, once they get out in the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf Stream seems to push them further east of Bermuda for foul weather in Europe in the Eastern Hemisphere.

The reason that I moved the Vizio sound bar back to the Vizio TV in the bedroom is that its volume control does not work off the Samsung television in the living room, and it was too loud causing it to vibrate and move around. The reason that I ordered the high definition over the air antenna is that if the cable system goes out like in an ice storm in the winter, and we still have electricity, I will still be able to watch a few channels from nearby White Plains, New York. Usually the signal from Manhattan does not work, since the part of the brick building just to my West blocks the Manhattan digital television signal.

I bought a package of deli sliced German baloney for $2.99 a pound for $3, from the clearance section a box of petit croissants for $3.24, a box of 12 Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $16.99, and a 48 ounce Almond Breeze Vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $5.99 for $29.22 total. I then bought a 6 pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99. I then returned home. I put away the groceries. I went outside, and I put the grey bag back in the car. My first television that I bought for this apartment back around December 1988 from Wal-Mart up on Route 7 as I recall was about a 24 inch CRT Orion television for about $200. Orion is also a constellation known as Orion's belt which is hard to miss in the night skies. Out in the middle of America where not many people live and there is not too much night light interference at night, there are plenty of people that stare at the night skies. Even in my last days in Manhattan, I used to go to a pub behind the Planetarium at the Natural History Museum, where they showed videos of Carl Sagan lectures. They should have shown a video of Mount St. Helens erupting, but that was only covered by the New York Times with a four inch column inside the paper.

I bought a medium Veranda blend coffee with almond milk and Splenda sweetener for $3.05 off my Starbucks card. I drank it in front of the Senior and the Arts Center. I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue. I picked up an 8 inch by 8 inch tapestry photograph that I got for 75% off and with discount coupons for $9.06 total. The photograph is of myself and a relative. I used the bathroom at CVS. I chatted with a friend while sitting in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park. I then returned home. I hung the picture above the Samsung television in the living room. I posted this report. I will now go outside again.

From there, I moved the earlier beta ThinkCentre to underneath the other most recent beta ThinkCentre on the LG mini computer setup. There is no point trying to upgrade the earlier beta ThinkCentre since it has Microsoft Office 2019 activated on it, which I do not want to lose.

I then alternated it with six deli slices of German baloney with six slices of Van Kass smoked Dutch gouda cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half. I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of sweet peas with Smart Balance spread. The slices of deli baloney I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a baloney and cheese wrap.

I low level formatted with the Hirens BCD pen drive, and then I restored the Aomei backup of the latest Microsoft Windows 12 beta Canary which was all configured. I renamed it. Microsoft Project activated on it. However, I had to pay $7.11 to Activate Office 2019 on it Microsoft Office 2019 Professional Plus CD Key - License Product Key – RoyalCDKeys . Thus it is the same at the other beta on the same setup. I am now doing an Aomei backup of it to the SSD external hard drive.
I went outside, and I drank an instant coffee midway through the process.

I bought a five gallon bottle of Poland Spring water with bottle return for $9.99, two six packs of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99 each six pack, a 48 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $5.99 and three four packs of Dannon triple zero Oikos yogurt for $4 each four pack for $31.96 total. I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue. I bought two 80 count Aleve liquid gel, two 300 count Bayer 81 mg. aspirin, and two CVS gas relief pills for $73.64 total. They were buy one get one 50% off and I also had other coupons. I also used the bathroom at CVS. I then returned home. I brought up my groceries. The new folding cart for the 42 pound bottle of water is awkward. One has to put the bottle sideways and secure it with the two bungee cords that came with the cart. Still on the rough pavement, the water bottle can fall off the cart. I put away the food and water. I put the grey bag and folding cart back in the car. I sat outside. I filed this report. I also moved the Google display to the left side of the Queen Anne chair.

From there, I moved the bent pine chair to the left side of the book case in the bedroom near the end of the bed.

They are also rioting in England. I guess like here for lack of money.

I did this one can try this an created a Windows 11 beta Rufus for older machines with this method by downloading the latest Windows Developer 11 beta 26100.1150 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewiso?rfs=1 , and I used this procedure for Windows 11 on an older PC, Windows 11 Rufus installed from USB Pen Drive I made a Windows 11 Rufus USB pen drive with this method this https://rufus.ie/en/ to created a Windows 11 bootable USB pen drive for it to upgrade https://www.elevenforum.com/t/create-bootable-windows-11-iso-without-tpm-secure-boot-and-ram-requirements.1891/ I formatted the over 8 GB USB pen drive in NTFS, and I set Rufus to "MBR" selected and the second and third advanced options selected, also select options no TPM/no Secure boot. The different language versions of the Windows 11 *.iso download are here https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11 thus for example if one wanted Windows 11 Professional in French download the *.iso file and make the Windows 11 Rufus USB pen drive the same way. Once again the Complete PC backup does not work, but Aomei backup does work. Microsoft does not pay its beta tester minions, but one learns a bit about their operating systems for free. Also on the beta disk manager does not work, unless one uses this way run a CMD prompt as Administrator, and run, "compmgmt.msc" . This will also work on older computers too.

One can make this USB pen drive Hiren's BootCD PE (hirensbootcd.org) and when one boots the Hirens USB pen drive, there is a free utility to do a low level format and another free utility for Aomei backup and restore. It is easier to restore an Aomei backup with the primary internal hard drive having a lot level format to get rid of the extra partitions.

I then made an Aomei backup of the beta machine to an external SSD drive. I then transferred the Lenovo Mini beta machine to the LG monitor TV setup, and I moved the other Lenovo Mini earlier beta to the living room desk setup. I went outside once.

However, with a few offices in town we tend to get busier between 8 A.M. and 10 A.M., when the office people show up for work. Nobody knows where they all come from in their rush into town. However, they have never given me much credit for keeping an eye on downtown and the local parks since December 13, 1983, when I returned from exile in Nantucket which can be peaceful which unlike myself that had to work all of the time to make ends meet.

From the back left side of the teak dining table, I moved the Honeywell Turbo Fan to the right side of the white bureau on the left side of the hallway entrance, where it does not block the view of the Monet print. From on top of the center hallway bookcase, I moved the black swivel desk fan to the back left of the teak dining table on the right side of the copper eagle lamp. I also plugged in a better new six foot extension cord to the plug on the bottom side of the right hallway bookcase to power the book lamp on the left hallway bookcase, and I also moved the Elon Musk energy saving device from the kitchen wall socket to that extension cord, so it is plugged in nearer to the circuit breaker box, where it is supposed to be located. I also moved the Bulova wall clock from the northwest bookcase to the wall to upper left of the desk. From there, I moved the wall thermometer to the south wall in between the deer picture and the wall mirror.

In my research over thirty years ago, Calpers, the University of California retirement fund was the largest depositor in the J.P. Morgan Bank, so maybe they still have money in some banks back East.
08/02/24 Friday 9:15 P.M. I am worried we might have a colder winter coming up. El Nino has ended off the coast of Peru which means warmers winters, when it is active and colder winters when it is not active. Also the volcanoes on the Kamchatka, Peninsula in Russia are very active which means colder weather and winds out of the northwest. As I have said many times before, when Mount St. Helens erupted on May 8, 1980, it made it so cold up North by February 1982, it was minus 26 degrees Fahrenheit below zero in Manhattan. In that cold weather the Saudi Arabian flag was flying all of the time at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, they were making so much money, and the lobby of the hotel was about 85 degrees Fahrenheit. In this building at 71 Vinci Drive about the eighth year, I lived here around the winter of 1996, we had a 2.5 foot snow fall as a result of the cold weather here, when the volcano in the Philippines erupted near Clark Air Force Base. At that time, there were a lot of big French Canadians around with big front end loaders to move the snow. As a matter of fact, the sanitation department of New York City can only handle about fifteen inches of snow at the most. Any more snow than that they have to hire Waste Management or Browning Ferris that have much heavier equipment and more snow experience. After Krakatoa erupted in Indonesia in 1882, New York City had a fifteen foot snow fall, and it even snowed in Connecticut that July. Helen Kress Williams was a friend of Rose Kennedy, and Rose Kennedy told her the Irish Potato famine was caused by the volcanoes in Iceland also about that time.

I bought a 24 inch by 30 inch framed Claude Monet print of a waterfront for $26.25.
I then went by the Greenwich Hardware store, and I bought two fifty pound OOK hooks for $4.
I then sat out briefly in front of the Senior and the Arts Center.
I then returned home, and I hung the Claude Monet print on the right side of the Samsung television. I moved the Map of Magellan print from there to the outside wall of the bedroom above the Ducks Unlimited print.

I paid my neighbor whom is a mechanic a $150 in cigar cigarette credit money to install the new Fram air filter in my 2005 Volvo XC 70. The orange rubber on the Fram air filter is a bit thicker, so he had to cut some it off to fit the cover back on. It took over an hour. The old Volvo air filter was last installed at 73,000 miles in 2010. My Volvo now has 129,000 miles on it. I should now get better gasoline mileage.

I then moved the new square end table from the right side of the Queen Anne chair to the left side of the Queen Anne chair. I had to move the Queen Anne chair to the right about a foot. From there, I moved the small dark oak table in front of the octagon end table with the LG setup remote controls on it. I also moved the copper eagle lamp to the left rear of the teak dining table, and from there I moved the brass lamp to the new square end table with the Panasonic two line telephone and the Alexa display also on it. The copper eagle lamp was too low, and I did not like its light bulb shining in one's face. There is also more room for the bent pine chair on the left side of the teak dining table to withdraw, so one can sit at it.

I also moved the Amazon Display to the end table between the Ethan Allen recliner and the saddle color faux leather chair with it facing the right side of the Ethan Allen recliner.

Usually on August 1, we get some very wealthy renters of vacation homes for the month of August that spend tens of thousands of dollars for their August rentals. Usually if they are from Manhattan, they know how to blend in with the ordinary low income people out here in the suburbs.
