12:45 A.M.: Happy Halloween. I
rested after the last message until 8 P.M.. I then chatted with a
relative. Nancy Reagan was on television with Arnold Schwarzenegger
at the
Ronald Reagan Presidential
Foundation & Library . I showered, and I cleaned up.
I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the
train station area. I stopped by Starbucks, and I got a dollar bill
of an Indian dollar. I used the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of
New York on Greenwich Avenue. It was not very busy downtown.
I sat out at various locations. I drove down by the waterfront.
I then returned home. I saw a truck delivering a truck load of new
cars. They usually do that at night, when it is not too busy.
I live on the west end of automobile row here in Greenwich, Connecticut, so we
have some fancy automobiles for sale in this area. I came home, and
I was home an hour early. I had not set my clock in the Volvo back
an hour, so I went down, and I set my clock back an hour in the Volvo.
I noticed there is a tall stereo case with drawers behind the dumpster.
I then noticed I hung the United States flag with the stars in the left top
corner which is the sign of distress. I decided to put the flag back
the way I normally keep them in case we might have various worldwide visitors,
in case anyone has not gone south for the winter, there might be a few people
left around the area. I put out the two small Swiss and one small
Swedish flags on the Lexmark X1185 printer on the dining table at the apartment
entrance. I then hung the United States of America flag with the
stars in the upper right corner on the right hallway bookcase, and then the
British Union Jack over it, and then the Scottish Cross of St. Andrews over it.
On the left hallway bookcase, I put the Saudi Arabian flag with the U.S. Air
Force flag over it with the Netherlands flag over it with the Swedish flag
displayed over them all. Since Scotland and Sweden are the two most
northern flags I have, they probably are appropriate for the winter.
I do not display the Saudi Arabian flag very much since the large Jewish
community in Greenwich, Connecticut would be offended, although it does not
offend me other than the fact I am still freezing in the winter, so they are not
very good at coming up with any cheap energy for the winter, so we sort of
forget about them around here anyway. Anyway 60% of the New York
City area energy comes from Canada anyway. The Jewish population is
suppose to be good on nuclear energy, but they do not seem to be able to supply
it cheaply anymore. Thus sooner or later it will get colder in the
apartment. I will now make up a batch of Formula One

I will now take a nap on the long green sofa for a while, and I will put the

It is another one of those quiet companies in town that one does not hear too
much about. After I completed my walk, I sat out for a while.
I noticed a photographer from Vermont regularly goes to Starbucks on Sunday
night. He probably works for Canadian intelligence, since some
Vermont people can occasionally make it up to Canada. I then
returned home. I chatted with a neighbor.
I opened a 18 ounce can of Progresso New England clam chowder, and I put it in a
plastic microwave proof pot with lid, and I microwaved it on one vegetable
cycle. I put the soup in large Cobalt blue soup bowl, and I
ate it with a glass of iced tea.

responded to the "Charge of the Light Brigade" , I will now shut down the
primary computer, and I will shower, and I will clean up, and I will go

It we are attached again, I could always use them for a catapult to launch any
spare objects at the annoying intruder. If the nut case in blue Audi
still thinks I am an annoying African American, I could arrange for a bigger
African American to take my place whom might not be so diplomatic. I
could also take my Polaroid digital camera and take a picture of the idiot's
license plate to have for posterity before he runs out of gasoline.
Basically there are a few people whom might be without electricity in the area
Thousands without power as winds pound East - CNN.com , but most of the
established Greenwich residents can afford to go to a local hotel if they lose
power. From what I can tell, there is not much money to be made off
walking around the downtown area in Greenwich, Connecticut over 23 years.
I have found about $44 in cash, and I have won $160 on lottery cards and scratch
cards, and I have probably spend about $50 on lottery and scratch cards, so the
net profit in walking around downtown Greenwich Avenue area would be about $154
in 23 years or about $6.70 a year. I think the gasoline and other
expenses to drive to the downtown area and maintain a car and my lifestyle have
been a little bit more expensive than that. Basically since my
largest financial supporter presently seems to be the United States Government
for the last 23 years, sooner or later the nut case in the blue Audi sedan might
have to justify himself to a higher authority. If the nut case in the blue
Audi sedan has big bucks, where he thinks he can throw his weight around, I
think we could arrange for the Internal Revenue Service
Internal Revenue Service to also audit the
individual. CIO

10/29/06 Sunday
4:10 P.M.: I made my bed, and I washed the
breakfast dishes. I threw out some garbage, and I chatted with some
neighbors. Basically after walking Greenwich Avenue for 23 years, it
is basically like being the Maytag Repairman, particularly after midnight.
Since the town of Greenwich, Connecticut with its two major highway arteries
gets up to a million people traveling through town every week, Greenwich Avenue
changes from minute to minute hour to hour day to day. From what I
can tell, a certain Mafiosi group frequent Greenwich Avenue on weekends at some
of our local pubs, and I have seen Gotti family members coming and going from
some of the local pubs. However, this is the New York metropolitan
area, and there are more than a few Italians in the area, and most of them seem
to be law abiding. Basically it is my perspective, if they are
getting territorial over the outside area around Starbucks, it gets awfully cold
there in the winter, and not many people want to linger around there once it
gets cold. After midnight, there is usually just police and fire
protection and the occasional ambulance crew along with a few train passengers,
most of whom are coming to and from work at the Greenwich Hospital on the night
shift. There are also occasionally a handful of children skate
boarding late at night. On Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights after
Starbucks closes, it is usually dead slow, and earlier in the evening there are
usually a few movie goers and people dining out with a few of the younger
generation stopping by the pubs. It is my perspective, that I am not
being paid for walking on Greenwich Avenue late at night, and it is just a quiet
exercise walk. I do not have any official capacity, and from what I can
tell, if anything goes wrong, there tend to be a few other people with cell
phones. Basically, I think the Greenwich Police know the situation
with the Nut Case in the Blue Audi, so more than likely they have taken care of
it. The only other car parked in that location late at night this
summer was a white Chevrolet sedan from Wilton, Connecticut.
Obviously none of these people using parking at that location late at night in
the winter would be interested in being out in the cold freezing weather when
the weather is not too glamorous late at night. In other words
nobody else would want to do the job, even if they were paid. Also
the only other person out there late at night and in the early morning hours was
George the taxi cab driver just walking to work, before he moved to Stamford.
Also two different people water the hanging plants in the summer.
There is an early morning riser walking about 4 to 5 A.M. in an orange parka.
Occasionally there are a few delivery trucks and cleaning crews. The
police and fire and EMT respond to many accidents on Interstate 95.
The Greenwich Time and other newspaper delivery trucks are out.
Occasionally some of the guests from the Delamar Hotel walk around exploring the
town. Of course after 4 or 5 A.M. the garbage trucks are moving
around. A few late night pub crawlers have cigarettes outside of the
bars, and network when the bars are closing. Recently I have noticed
the Colonial Diner which is opened all night has not been very busy at night
anymore. The real fact is that there are not that many people out
late at night and during the early morning hours anymore, but there are always
travelers on the highway. CIO

detail. If I am not mistaken, today happens to be the 32nd birthday
for a local expert on cold weather known as the "Artful Dodger"
http://mikelouisscott.com/chris2000.jpg . Since he grew up in Jay
Peak, Vermont in much colder weather until he arrived in this area to go to the
Greenwich High School at age 14, he probably knows some other cold weather
people. Since he lived at the Y.M.C.A. and Christ Church more than
likely he has quite a few friends in the downtown area, if he ever makes it back
to visit this area from where ever he has settled into for his long winter's
stay. More than likely he would rather be in Daytona, Florida, but
with his local cold weather skills, he probably manages to make a living in this
area. Since the skinny women at Christ Church have quite a bit of
influence, more than likely this could be the same person

Note:<888>
10/29/06 Sunday
12:50 A.M.: My friend reminded me that
certain delegations to the United Nations such as Russia, Cuba, Iran, North
Korea, and I suppose some other countries are not allowed to travel more than 25
miles from the United Nations. Thus if one drew a circle 25 miles in
radius from the United Nations that would show how far they are allowed to
travel. Since in the colder months, Greenwich Avenue is always full
of Russians, I would think it is safe to assume that Greenwich Avenue is within
25 direct radius miles of the United Nations as the Crow flies. If
one of the delegates were caught beyond this radius they would be subject to
whatever penalties the host country being the United States of America were
subject to levy. In other words, with 300 million United States
citizens, I do not think it is too hard to keep track of the various delegates
in their movements and their travels. More than likely their vehicles are
monitored anyway. However, if one searched from 15 Havemeyer Place
in Greenwich, Connecticut where the Greenwich Police station is located to the
United Nations Plaza in New York, New York at
http://maps.google.com/ it says it is 30.9 miles via road, thus more than
likely the various delegates that are limited in their travels would not be
allow to cross from New York into Connecticut without special permission.
Thus with the Russian types, they would be allowed to come out as far as Rye,
New York, and I guess if they were sneaking out any further, they would be some
of the odd joggers we see in the area coming and going occasionally.
However, the New York City area is suppose to have a half million recent Russian
immigrants, so more than likely they are less restricted in their travels, and
more than likely some of their delegates move around with them.
Basically the rules exists because other countries overseas enforce the same
rules on our delegates or representatives. I microwaved and ate a 7 ounce
Banquet chicken pot pie, which I ate with a glass of iced tea. CIO

Greenwich Avenue branch of Putnam Trust Bank of New York. I then went by
CVS, and I toured their store display. I then was sitting out at one
of my usual cigarette places at the veterans bench across from the senior and

its bright lights shinning on me. After about 10 minutes, I got up
and walked around the sidewalk, and I put out my cigarette in the street and
threw the butt in the garbage can. It was about the time a fire
department truck was returning to the station about 6:30 P.M.. As I
was walking behind the blue Audi, the driver backed out very fast and almost hit
me, and I quickly dodged the rear of the Audi. I looked at the passenger
side of the car, and there was a white middle aged male driver and white middle
aged female passenger. The passenger's side window was down, and the
driver yelled out very loud, "Get Out of Here Niger!", and then they sped away
down Arch Street. The license plate was a Connecticut license plate
with numbers. I then drove down by the waterfront, and I chatted with a
local Chinese resident that runs a dry cleaners. He told me they had
had a memorial at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club for a Kress family member that
had died. I chatted with Byron from Guatemala, and he told me he now
owns the Holly Hill dump, which I thought was a bit strange since it is suppose
to be a municipal dump, in other words the town of Greenwich owns it. I
then returned home, and I ate the last half of a 5.5 ounce tube of Pringle sour
cream and onion potato chips, and I ate 15 Ritz crackers with .75 inch by 1.75
inch by 1/16th inch slices of Monterey Jack cheese on them with some iced tea.
I chatted with two relatives, and I left messages with three friends, and I

at the bedroom entrance. The small jump system is not too physically
large, about a third of the size of my other jump start systems, but it is
suppose to be equally powerful. Probably it has a different type of
more powerful battery. It needs to be charged up 24 hours before
using it the first time, and it is suppose to be good for 90 days on a charge if
not used. It does not have a power cable, but just a plug for an
extension cord. I had a foot long extension cord that I plugged into
it, and then I put a three prong to two prong adapter on that foot long cord,
and I plugged it into a regular extension cord and placed it by the bedroom
entrance while it charges up. Technically with four jump systems,
once I have them up and running, I would be able to leave one in the car this
winter, and since I have a charging adapter for the car cigarette lighter, if I
needed to use one while I was downtown, it would be available.
However, when jump start batteries sit out in the cold weather, they tend to be
less powerful, but still it is an option. Of course I have jumper
cables in the car, but Volvo recommends against using them to prevent from
damaging the car onboard computer. I suppose it depends on how much
of an emergency it is. The jump start system came in its own box plus
three other boxes, so with the suspenders box, I have four boxes to throw away
shortly. They are good boxes, but I have no where to store them.

11:50 P.M.: Besides the two new jump start
systems, I also have the Slaymaker Jump Start system that I replaced the battery
on two years ago, and it seems fairly good. I also have a Roadmaster
Jumpstart Portable Power Station that I found in the dumpster about six months
ago, and its battery is worn out. I took it apart, and it uses the
same battery as the Slaymaker, so I ordered
eBay: Battery Fits DATEC 7036 UPS (12V 17AH) (item 270007279103 end time

Thus I will have four jump start systems ready to use this winter. If it
is hard starting the car this winter, one could always rig up two of them at a
time for more power. My spare funds are down to minimal support
until the first of the month, but I have paid most of my bills for November.
I will now put the Roadmaster unit back together. CIO

9:55 P.M.: I went out after the last
message. I went to my usual Thursday 3 P.M. appointment.
I set up an appointment for next week to get a flu shot. I went by
the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop, and I bought a six inch high
Colonial Williamsburg Where History Lives
salt ware vase for $3. I learned how to make those items when I
lived in Colonial Williamsburg for a month back around the summer of 1963.
Alas I can not afford to dress as lavishly as they seem to dress down there.
However, I guess vintage clothing never goes out of style. I then went
downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train
station area. During my walk, I stopped by the Greenwich Cigar
store, and I bought a Aces High scratch card for a dollar, but I did not win
anything. I chatted with a neighbor. I stopped by the
senior and the arts center, and I used the bathroom. I stopped by
CVS. I sat out for a while. I drove down by the waterfront.
I went by the Greenwich Library. I chatted with a local attorney and
a patron. I chatted with the music librarian, and I chatted with one of
the reference librarians. I noticed they were having an art gallery
opening with a lot of pink and green paintings. I then went by the Stop
and Shop, and I bought greenish bananas at .54 a pound for $1.47. I
then returned home. I microwaved a 15.5 ounce Stouffer's frozen
stuffed peppers dinner, and I ate it with a glass of iced tea. I
then chatted with two relatives and a friend. I will now do some
regular computer work. CIO

1:45 P.M.: I checked the mail, and I
threw out some garbage. I reorganized my small hallway sweater closet, so
it is a bit neater. I put some of the spare towels that were in the
sweater closet on the bedroom closet shelf, and I put some of the sweaters that
I had out grown in the lower half of the lower Rubbermaid hamper in the bedroom.
The bottom shelf of the sweater closet contains a Prince jogging suit along with
a lot of old pairs of boxer shorts and other old clothing items that can be used
for dust clothes and some turtle necks that are a bit too small. I
threw out a tin of old moth balls from the closet. I opened a
cold 6 ounce can of solid white albacore tuna fish, and I defrosted four
slices of bread, and I rinsed the tuna fish off with the lid underneath cold
water, and I flaked it in a bowl adding two tablespoons of Hellmann's low fat
mayonnaise, and I made two sandwiches out of it all, and I ate it all with a
glass of iced tea. The brass horse and Currier and Ives coaster
trivets arrived in the mail from Carver, Minnesota. I put the pair
of brass horses sculpture on the living room window shelf, so it catches the
eye, and I put the four Currier and Ives coaster trivets on the green sofa side
of the brass and glass coffee table. They have rubber bumpers, so
they do not scratch the glass on the coffee table. I will now
shower, and I will clean up, and I will go out for my 3 P.M. appointment.

not know if the same group of about 200 stray Hemingway six toed cats are still

practice voodoo down there too. Of course when Halloween happens in

I watched some television. I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast

not get any of the numbers right. I ran Registry Mechanic on the primary

Connecticut and the New York City area is that a lot of people drink alcohol.
When they drink alcohol, they tend to go through mood swings, and usually they
end up getting depressed after they quit drinking alcohol for a while.
The alcoholic activity of the local citizens keeps a number of the local
citizens busy, since they have to deal with whatever they do when they drink
alcohol or become depressed after drinking alcohol. One of my neighbors
thinks by buying odd items in the Greenwich, Connecticut Hospital Thrift shop,
one might buy some item that has a curse or bad voodoo attached to it.
Basically the only thing I know that I have in my apartment that is some sort of
relic is the New Zealand tiki that a relative gave to me after a trip to New

8:30 P.M.: I went out after the last
message. I went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.
I chatted with a Greenwich Hospital Volunteer there. I then went by
the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop. I bought four small cloth lined
lamp shades in like new condition for $10 all. When I was getting in my
car, I found a one pound coin that I guess is British with Queen Elizabeth II's
image on the front and the Royal seal on the back with "Decus Et Tutamen"
meaning "An Ornament and a Safeguard"
eBay.co.uk Guides - Inscriptions Legends on British Coins Translations
around the edge of the coin. I then went by the Greenwich Library,
and I chatted with another person who also lives in Wisconsin. I chatted
with a Norwegian resident. I chatted with another regular downtown
observer whom is not spending much time downtown anymore. I then
returned home. I called a couple of local security people about recent
events. I am concerned as to how the British coin happened to be on
the seat of my car, since I tend to lock it at all times. Possibly it fell
out of the lining of the Ralph Lauren green car coat that I bought for $40 at
the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop about 10 months ago. If not, it
would mean there has been an intruder in my car for unknown reasons.
I completed the other two backups on my Maxtor external hard drive, so five of
the six computers are backed up to the external hard drive. I
chatted with two relatives twice. I checked outside, and I chatted
with a couple of neighbors. I walked around the building. I put the
new small white cloth lamp shades on the sconces above the dining table, and
they are the same as on the sconces at the other end of the room. I
put the old ones that I took off in the left living room closet shelf on the
right side. Since I try to run a secure environment, I am sort of
spooked when there is a sign of an intruder. I will now reheat on
two vegetable cycles in the General Electric microwave oven in a plastic
microwave proof pot with lid the other half of the tomato sauce from the jar
that I opened this morning along with the cooked vermicelli in the flat
Rubbermaid container, and I will put it on a dinner plate with the vermicelli
first and then the tomato sauce, and then a four tablespoons of grated parmesan
cheese, and I will eat it all with a glass of iced tea. I put the one
pound British coin in the brass picture frame with the Canadian quarter that I
keep underneath the Epson StylusColor 880 printer on the dining table.

portrait. I will probably put the brass horse statue on the lazy
Susan on the window ledge with the potted palm. I have already
mentioned my plans for the four Currier and Ives coaster trivets. I
have been billed for one of the two jump start systems, but neither of them have
shipped coming from two locations. The blue clip suspenders have also

underneath the French reproduction chair in the living room, and I use one of
the blankets on the back of the sofa.
I filled half of a gallon Revere pot with water, and I added dashes of sea salt
and a little bit of olive oil, and I brought it to a boil, and I then boiled a
16 ounce box of Ronzoni vermicelli for 8 minutes, and
I strained the water off through a colander placed in another pot. I
dumped the hot water from the pot down the bathroom sink drain to clean it out.
While doing that, I took the contents of a 26 ounce jar of Tuttorossa Marinara
sauce, and I left half of the contents back in the jar, which I put in the
refrigerator, and I put the other half in a microwave proof pot with lid, and I
heated it on one vegetable cycles in the General Electric microwave oven while
the vermicelli was cooking. I put half of the cooked vermicelli in a
flat Rubbermaid container with lid, and I put it in the refrigerator, and I put
the other half on a dinner plate with the tomato sauce on top, and I added four
tablespoons of grated parmesan, and I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.
I then washed the dishes. I then rested on the area rug on the floor
in front of the French reproduction chair with the same pillow and blanket.
I did not feel like opening up my bed. I attached a 6 foot extension
cord behind the right bedroom night stand, and I connected the electric blanket
and the Ity Bity book light to it. I placed the Ity Bity book light
on the speaker above the night stand to have ready for reading in bed.

a stick proof frying pan, and I heated it on medium high electric heat, once the
oil became hot, I added the egg mixture, and once it began to solidify, I made a
batch of scrambled eggs. While doing that I also put three pieces of
paper towel on a microwave proof plate, and five strips of Smithfield double
thick bacon and on top of that two paper towels, and I put a plate plastic
microwave lid on it, and I microwaved it for 4.5 minutes. I toasted
two English muffin halves, which I put a little bit of olive on.

With better and cheaper communications here in America, people are able to
communicate more here about their ordinary routines versus those of their
neighbors whom do not communicate too much. It is the nature of the
communications business that one should try to communicate. Alas,
since nobody in Europe communicates with us anymore over here in America, Europe
must have some separate new world agenda that we over here on the quiet side of
the pond are unaware of. There are probably a few European visitors
in Manhattan that occasionally visit us out here, but from what I can tell, they
do not always feel like communicating too much. Since a great many
suburbanites go into the city and ignore local city people, I suppose city
people come out here to ignore suburbanites. Alas the grass is
always greener. From what I can tell, a great many people in central
Greenwich chose to ignore people from Byram, since they are not necessarily as
fashion conscious as the more urbane downtown group of people, many of whom seem
to work and be active in the big city life. Basically people spend too
much time walking around in Manhattan, so they do not get all of that much work
done compared to the more sedentary individuals out in the wood work.

from that location into the kitchen entrance. I moved the white with

I then went downtown, and I stopped by CVS, and I bought a 12 pack of Kleenex

Thomas' English muffins for $1.99 each, plus .36 tax for $20.51 total.
I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.
I sat out at various locations. During my walk, I stopped by the
Greenwich Cigar store across the street from the Greenwich train station, and I
asked the sales agent from India if the god Shiva would chose the easiest game
card, and he gave me for a dollar a Powerball PowerPlay with numbers "05, 14,
21, 35, 47, / and power number 29". During my tour of the Greenwich train
station, I chatted with a young couple going into visit Manhattan, and I wished
them a good trip. I walked back up Greenwich Avenue, and I stopped
by CVS again, and I picked up a prescription, and I bought for .99 a 3 ounce jar
of Gold Emblem chicken bouillon powder. I completed my walk, and I
sat out for a while. I noticed a Rolls Royce from Georgia, so I
guess somebody down south has some money. I then returned home.
I put away my purchases. I cut the remaining five .25 inch thick
slices of cold eye round of beef, and I put horse radish and Lea and Perrins
Worcestershire sauce on them. I put about an inch of water in a two
quart Revere pot with steamer tray, and I added about 1.25 cups of broccoli
crowns and baby carrots, and I steamed them on medium high electric heat for
about 15 minutes. For the last five minutes of that cycle, I put the
Rubbermaid container of cooked rice in the microwave oven on vegetable cycle.
I put the rice on the dinner plate with the meat along with a small amount of
Kikkoman soy sauce on the rice. I put the steamed vegetables in a bowl
with a little bit of olive oil. I ate it all with a glass of ice
tea. I am now making up a batch of Formula One

I bought
this print for $5 in the Old Greenwich, Connecticut Rummage Room thrift shop
recently. I think it is King George VI when he was the Prince of Wales, John
Muir, Teddy Roosevelt, E. H. Harriman, and one of the Vanderbilts. My grand
dad Scott worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for 60 years out of
Champaign, Illinois, and since I can not get a shop, I just work on computers
and walk around our local railroad station.
I once saw
W. Averill Harriman at an art gallery opening across from the Austrian consulate
in Manhattan. I have met his nephews son and daughter. His nephew's nephew
was a classmate of mine at Lake Forest College www.lfc.edu , and they had me at
the Fort Erie race track in Canada back in 1972 with the Queen Mum of England
for the Queen's trophy, so I try to be helpful with the British in America
too. When I left Nantucket in 1983 flying off with Jackie Onassis, I did not
know anyone in Manhattan, so I went up on the train to Toronto, and I came back
down with somebody that looked like the Queen Mum and a little blond boy. I
called George Cary in East Aurora, New York, and he gave me George's address out
in Sands Point, Long Island at Harriman's nephew's house, and after a few years
after settling in Greenwich, Connecticut where I have lived most of my life, I
contacted him, and he visit once or twice a year. George Cary's maternal
grandfather was Jay Coogan the last living member of Queen Victoria's honor
guard, and he lived in Gladstone, New Jersey. George investigates the race
horse business in New York State.
His Uncle
Charlie and Aunt Mary are about 95 years old still living out in Sand's Point,
Long Island. The son Charlie Rumsey lives in Montana near Jackson Hole,
Wyoming. One of W. Averill Harriman's children lived in Old Greenwich,
Connecticut before they died in the Swiss Air jet wreck about 5 years ago in
Nova Scotia. There is a tree planted in memorial to them at the southwest
picnic area at the beach on Tod's Point. I keep my web sites http://mikelouisscott.com
and http://geocities.com/mikelscott/
because I
walked around the trains in Manhattan for 10 years, and I lived in Key West for
a couple of years in the winter at the end of the Flagler Railroad, and I knew
Wiley Middleton whom kept an office in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida East Coast
Railroad building.
My
interest in volcanos became more intense after the winters in Manhattan when it
was down to minus 25 degrees Fahrenheit after Mount St. Helens' eruption. The
internet does seem to work for better communications. The first time I visited
San Francisco on Columbus Day in 1978, the city was closed to traffic for the
Queen of Spain visiting, and at the Hyatt Embargadaro the American Railroad
Society was having a convention. The only other railroad memorabilia I have
seen in town over 23 years are to old signal lamps, and I once found a railroad
spike that fell out of our local track.

6:30 A.M.: I have tried to explain
diplomatically to disinterested parties that I have more important work to do
than constantly fixing computers that are hacked and tampered with.
Winter is coming soon, and I have to be ready for winter too. Since
I have a 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo station wagon which I do not drive too much, and
although it has a fairly new Deka battery from Greenwich Automotive Services
Exxon station next to the Greenwich Library that I bought 20 months ago Automotive
Batteries: Deka's Complete Line of Lead-acid Batteries for Passenger Cars & LTV
Part # 547/90, 740 cranking amps,
CCA@
0 degrees Fahrenheit 595 for $129.99 plus $31.60 installation and testing, a
$1 shop supplies, and $9.92 tax for $172.51 total. ,
since I drive so little, and since my car has an alarm system, last winter when
I did not drive for two or three days I had the battery run down a number of
times and in April, I even had to call Riverside Towing for a jump start which
GEICO automotive road plan paid for. I have the Slaymaker Jump Start
System with a 20 month old replacement battery, which is probably not that
powerful anymore. I did some bottom fishing on the internet, and I
bought this combo listed at the bottom of this page
Amazon.com: Schumacher PS-400-3A Instant Power Jump Starter With 18 Amp Hour
Battery: Automotive for $103.87 for both jump start system less $20 for over
$100 automotive order in automotive using coupon code "ILW7MGWS" for $83.87 plus
with free Super Saver Shipping I saved $27.20 on ground shipping that I did not
have to pay for a total of $83.87 all together. However the
PS-400-3A is discounted $104.97 from $165.85 , and the PS 120-A
Amazon.com: Schumacher PS-120A Mity-Mite Jump Starter With 12 Amp Hour Battery:
Automotive is discounted $61.21 from $104.20 for a total savings on the
entire order of $104.97 + $61.21 + $20 + $27.20 of $213.38 for an order with the
retail value of $317.25 for only $83.87. However, there are other
people that discount them a bit, but that is the best deal for my needs.
Of course one should drive a bit to try to keep the car charged up, if one can
afford the gasoline. I do not know if the batteries can be replaced
on the units or not when they wear out. However, since they will be
delivered probably by
www.ups.com , I do not
have to spend money getting to a local automotive store which would cost to
drive to, and it obviously is a very good price. Thus hopefully we
will be able to stay more mobil on cold winter days this winter.
Also on cold days, the jump start man is busy, and he does not always arrive too
soon. CIO

3:05 A.M.: I chatted with a local
computer security firm and another computer security outfit. I left
a couple of messages with a friends. I chatted with a relative.
I went to bed at 8 A.M. yesterday morning. I woke up at 6 P.M..
I had a telephone call from a survey idiot in Princeton, New Jersey, and I
declined to comment. I chatted with a relative.
I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin
with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.
I chatted with another friend whom had to get off the cell phone before the
police saw him talking and driving a car. I was able to fix the
Toshiba laptop by opening it up carefully and disconnecting the two bios
batteries to clean the bios, and then I tested it, and it now works fine again,
and I reassembled it. As usual in disassembly procedures, I had one one
inch screw left over, but it seems to work just fine. This took
about two hours. I installed the Net Mechanic on it, and I ran
it, and I did a bit of regular maintenance. It seems to work fine
now. I set the screen in the bios for full size. I then
took out the bios battery on the Dell L1000R computer, and I cleared it to with
the dip pin, and it now works too. On both computers, I also
disconnected the telephone lines to them, so none of the computers have
telephone lines connected to them that are active, but if the cable modem
service failed I could easily connect them from their nearby positions to use
Juno free dialup. I reflashed the bios with the latest bios on the
Dell L1000R computer. I did the regular maintenance on it, and I
installed System Mechanic, and I ran it too. I threw out the
garbage, and I picked up my mail. I watered the plants, and I put
more white vinegar on the vinegar scent bowl. Possibly I was so
tired last night, I forgot the right password procedures on the two backup
computers, and thus I could not get into them, but that seems highly unlike,
since they are simple procedures. Since the primary computer screen
back ground was turned from black to blue yesterday, it would seem to me that
somebody has continually frustrated my simple security procedures and broken
into my computers for unknown purposes. Since I have quite a few
neighbors whom are vigilant, somebody obviously knows whom it is.
Obviously if they practice their stealth on me, they also do it to more affluent
people in town whom have more to lose. I could also invest in a
white German Shepard dog, since from past experience the one I use to walk in
Manhattan for the United States State Department was very reliable.
However, I do not think the Greenwich Housing Authority allows dogs or cats in
the building. They also tell me they do not allow the tenants to keep
guns, but several of the tenants have told me because of their positions, they
are allowed to keep guns, since they serve as informal security on a rotating
basis. Needless to say since some of their superiors usually have
some sort of military experience, they usually consult with their superiors
before taking action. Basically the United States of America has so
much crime the Federal government usually does not interfere in the local level.
However in a wealthy town a like Greenwich, Connecticut, I dare say we have over
two dozen private security agencies working at any given time, and most of them
also have military experience. In other words, in you break into an
Admiral's or General's summer house, you might find one of the branches of the
United States military police taking you into custody, and throwing you into
their brig or lockup or stockade, since that would be considered intrusion into
military affairs. Sometimes with foreign nationals whom cause problems,
the U.S. government might just trade them back to some other foreign country
that is interested in them in return for somebody they are interested in getting
back. CIO

10/20/06 Friday
6:25 A.M.: I went out after the last
message. I went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.
I then went by the Greenwich Hardware store, and I bought a two plug pack of
Pass and Seymour legrand straight blade plugs for $2.29 plus .14 tax for $2.43
total. I then went by the waterfront, and several of the usual
fishermen were there including the post man from Yonkers and the Verizon
telephone employee that works Belle Haven. I then went by Staples in
Old Greenwich, and I bought a three pack of Oxford clamp binders for $6.49 plus
.39 cents tax for $6.88. I noticed on my accounts that they only
charged me $5 shipping for the suspenders coming from Washington States, so they
cost $17.99. I noticed when coming out of Staples, there was a
fellow at the East Putnam Avenue Shell station with a broken down Jimmy, but
when I asked him where he was from in Illinois, and he did not seem to know
Illinois, and he said Chicago. He did not know English from
what I could tell. He was transferring his materials into a more expensive
Sports Utility vehicle. I then went by the Old Greenwich Rummage
Room thrift shop, and I bought for $5 a glass framed picture about 30 inches by
20 inches of the Northern Pacific Railroad. I then went by Tod's
Point, and I viewed the waterfront from the southwest parking area.
I was told by one local, that the parrots that I saw there this summer had
escaped from a shipping container at a New York airport, and they survive the
winters by nesting on electrical transformers which frequently short out because
of all of the bird poop, but local environmentalists are protecting them.
I then went by the southeast picnic area. I then returned to central
Greenwich, and I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop. I then
went by the Merry Go Round Mews thrift shop. I bought a long size
like new Pendleton wool shirt in the MacDuff plaid of red and darker color for
$12. One does not put wool shirts in the drier, or they will
shrink a lot. I then went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason
Street again. I then went to my usual 3 P.M. appointment.
I then returned home. I brought up my purchases, and the new video
card had arrived. I then hung the railroad picture on the back of my
apartment door, and I rotated some other pictures around. I then
went outside, and I chatted with some neighbors. We got 3 new Maytag
washers and 3 new Maytag driers in the Laundromat today. They still
only cost 90 cents a machine. I then went back up to the apartment
that I call home, and I spent several hours repairing the small two brass
elephant light. I cut off about a foot of the cable, so the inline
switch is on a new section, I put a new plug on it, and I disassembled and
reassembled the socket, and I finally go it working again, and I put a new small
round 25 watt light bulb in it. I put its green shade on it, and I put it
back on the window ledge with it connected to the uninterrupted power supply for
the server, so it can be used for emergency light if the power goes off.
It does not use that much electricity. I also could put a red 8 watt bulb
in it to use less electricity if the power went off. I then
install the new video card in the server, and it works just fine. I
installed the old video card from the server in the Epox backup computer, and I
also installed Net Mechanic. I then installed the old video card
from the Epox computer in the Northgate Syntax computer and Net Mechanic.
I then went to install Net Mechanic on the Dell L1000R computer, and the Toshiba
laptop computer. Both of those computers unlike the other four are
physically connected to telephone lines, and from what I can figure out while I
had them turned on, both the Dell L1000R and the Toshiba laptops were hacked
within a half hour about 1:30 A.M. with a similar hack pattern. They
password does not work on either, and from what I can tell, when I have the
time, I have to clear the bios cmos on each of them and possibly reflash their
bios cmos settings. They are not expensive computers, but from what
I can tell, since it did not happen to any of the other four computers which do
not have telephone lines connected to them, it happened through the telephone
lines. I happen to know the old Bush family relative whom is a CIA
employee that is expert at this form of sabotage, so James Edward Eldert or what
ever his real name happens to be is back in the area again. Also
while I was out today, somebody gained access to my primary computer while it
was turned off, and they changed the back ground color from black to blue.
This would not happen while the computer was turned off, so somebody obviously
can gain access to the primary computer and bypass the CMOS password settings.
I happened to know Jimmy went to Georgia Tech, and he has been around the people
whom manufacture the computer bios chips for personal computers down in
Norcross, Georgia, and his group of people screwed up so much in the Carter
administration, people got bored of them fast. They usually sneak up
here on the Delta flights from Atlanta and impersonate established people.
His real name might be James Lee, and he is still fighting the Civil War.
He has a long unglamorous record that the Feds keep on him. I
chatted with some tech people about the hacker matter, and nobody seems to be
working much at night anymore. I left a message with a friend.
The reason that Jimmy does this sort of activity is that he is an alcoholic and
he goes to lots of movies, and he thinks that is reality. Needless to say
because of all the mischief he has caused over the years, he is not able to hold
a steady job and most of his friends have given up on him, and sooner or later
he will not be able to pay his bar bills down in Atlanta, where he brags about
his exploits. His own family is near bankruptcy because of all
of the law suits, and sooner or later one of these days, his plane will not make
it back home, when time runs out. Now you know why Helen Kress
Williams told us we should keep an eye on him. I was looking at
Westchester County - AirportMonitor -
by Megadata - powered by PASSUR at 11 P.M. this evening, and a plane
approaching from the north went into a zig zag pattern, and it looked like it
crashed into the reservoir north of the airport. I know IBM has a
helicopter pad near that location, so maybe it was not an airplane, but a
helicopter landing. The one I have seen there is a big white one, I
call the flying milk truck. Well, I ate three scoops of Edy's low
fat almond praline ice cream, and I guess I will now shut down the computer, and
I will go to bed soon. I put the spare plug and left over electrical wire
in the upper left mahogany bureau drawer in the bedroom. CIO

and high, and all together I steamed it for 15 minutes. I cut three
3/8th inch thick slices of
cold eye round of beef, and I put them on a dinner plate with a teaspoon of
horseradish spread on each with some Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce on
each, and I put the vegetables in a bowl with a little bit of olive oil spread
on them, and I also reheated the Rubbermaid container of steamed rice on a

12:55 A.M.: I will now go through my
email. I will put the new Aubusson rug in behind the Ethan
Allen recliner in between it running towards the apartment entrance in between
the dining table. Thus it will make the apartment look more opulent.
With the blue wool rug that is mostly wall to wall in my apartment living room,
which I have had for about 15 years, putting the Aubusson rugs over parts of it
makes it look better. There is no way I could put in new carpeting
since the blue wool rug is still in good shape, and I never wear my shoes in the
apartment, and I do not have the capability of moving all of the furniture.
I learned about the durability of wool rugs when I built the garage apartment
for Vivian West over 8,000 hours in 1982 and 1983 at a $1.15 an hour.
The garage apartment was attached to Vivian West's house next to the train
station on the north side of the train station in Plandome Manor, New York, and
she use to keep dogs including a pug named Charlie and also a black and white
Spaniel, and her grandchildren kept dogs. She had a wool rug in her
house over which she had put an authentic Chinese Aubusson carpet and Baldwin
grand piano, and with all of the dogs and grandchildren the rugs seem to have
held up well over the years. The blue wool rug in my apartment
living room came from Gloria Vanderbilt's Adopt a Dog tag sale up on Lake
Avenue, and it had been just cleaned by Shaffer rug cleaning over in Stamford,
Connecticut, and it had been donated by Burt Parks, and I got it for half price
for $40 on the last day of the tag sale. The blue wool rug that takes up
most the apartment living room is about 20 feet by 15 feet, so it was an
excellent value. Of course old yankees do not worry about moths.

However, I sort of like tweaking it for my own use, but somehow it lost the Dell

http://mikelouisscott.com/visbeta.htm . Thus I would say it is
safe to say the Vista Beta RC2 build 5744 is working just fine on my primary
computer in a secondary partition as I have it configured with its dual boot
manager. I installed the second NEC DVD R/RW model #3550 in my
server, and it works just fine. I have Nero 6 on the server, so one
should be able to burn from DVD to DVD, but I have them both on the second IDE
cable as master and slave, which is not as fast as if they were on two different
IDE cables. Alas both primary computer and server are tower cases

the motherboards at the bottom of both cases, the standard IDE cables are not
long enough to reach the DVD drives as slaves in the upper bays of the cases and

positioned. I went out, and I threw out some garbage, and I chatted

whatever. I microwaved and ate a Stouffer's 16 ounce roasted

7:45 P.M.: After the last message, I
tried tweaking the system to get the Vista Complete PC backup feature to work.
I finally did another Complete PC backup restore from the Maxtor external hard
drive to the primary computer first hard drive. I was able to get it
to work faster this time by not having the USB 2.0 port device plugged into the
motherboard USB 2.0 slot. I then restored the changed files.
However, in tweaking the system, I mistakenly formatted my second hard drive
used for backups. I tried to get the Vista Complete PC backup to
work by doing a backup from the first hard drive to the second hard drive, but
it continually failed no matter what I tried. I disabled the Serial ATA in
the CMOS. I then started a Windows XP ASR backup from the C: drive
to the D: drive. I ate the last of the coffee ice cream and some
peanuts. I went to bed, and I had a telephone call from a friend.
I woke up at 4 P.M.. I did another ASR backup from the C: drive to the D:
drive. I did some bottom fishing on the internet.
I ate breakfast of oatmeal, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, orange
juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee. I washed the breakfast dishes,
and I made the bed. I left messages with three relatives and friends.
I will now back up some more files from the C: drive to the D: drive by copying
them. Basically the primary computer is running just fine.
Vista is still in beta, so the fact that I can not get the Complete PC backup
feature to work properly does not really matter as long as XP works just fine.

9:55 P.M.: After the last message, I
tried doing a Vista beta RC2 build 5744 Complete PC backup from the first hard
drive to the second hard drive, and it failed once again. Whenever I
try it, I get the error message "This request could not be performed because of
an I/O device error (0X80070450)" . I then deleted the two ASR
backups from the second hard drive, and I moved its remaining files to a folder
on the first hard drive. I booted MaxBlast, and I tried writing
zeros for the first 1% of the second hard drive. I then booted into
XP, and I repartitioned the second hard drive. However, when I
booted into Vista, a Complete PC backup still would not work. I
tried uninstalling the Vista Microsoft programs for the Microsoft Mouse and
Keyboard, and it still would not do a complete PC backup. I chatted
with a friend and a relative. I slept from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M..
While sleeping, I did a regular format of the second hard drive, however a
Complete PC backup still would not work. I have a new IDE cable on
the hard drives. I assume since the ASR backup works in XP, there is
nothing wrong with the Hard Drives. Since I restored the original
Maxtor external hard drive Complete PC backup from a week ago, which would do a
Complete PC backup, I am not sure what the problem is. I will
now move the backed up files from the second hard drive which I placed on the
first hard drive to the second hard drive again. I will then a XP
Professional ASR backup from the first hard drive to the second hard drive, so
at least I have that backup. CIO

1:20 P.M.: After the last message, I
tried to do a Complete PC backup with Vista RC2 build 5744, but it kept failing,
possibly because of the Microsoft One Care beta that I had installed, so I tried
uninstalling it, but the Complete PC backup still did not work.
I then decided to restore my Complete PC backup from the Maxtor external hard
drive from a week ago. This took about three hours for 50 gigabytes
of files, and it is like when one boots the Vista DVD to do the restore, it only
does it at USB 1.0 speed instead of USB 2.0 speed. Well, the system
is back up and running again, and I restored the XP files that had changed in
the past week, and I installed the recent updates. I will now boot
into Vista and install the Microsoft Vista Microsoft mouse and keyboard
programs, and then I will try to do the Complete PC backup from the first hard
drive to the second hard drive. While doing all of this, I went
outside, and I chatted with a neighbor. I also went downtown, and I
went by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.
I then went by CVS on Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out downtown for a while.

I chatted with two relatives.
I ate breakfast of oatmeal without a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin
with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.
Possibly there is too much sugar for me when I use a banana in the oatmeal, and
the extra sugar might mess up my system. I did a Windows XP
Automatic System Recovery backup from the first C: hard drive to the
second D: hard drive on the primary computer. I searched out tower
fans to possibly move the air around my living room to improve the over all heat
in the apartment, and I found these models

However, I think the Lasko box fan I have installed works just fine, since I
think it moves a large volume of the warm electric radiator heat around the
apartment. It only costs pennies a day to operate, and I can always
buy another one easy enough if it give out, since it is a very common item.
I turned off the Honeywell Hepa air purifier, since it uses a bit of electricity
and is noisy. I will only turn if on in the future for brief periods
when the apartment smells a bit. I will now wash the breakfast
dishes, make my bed, and then I will clean the Lasko box fan, and I will clean
the Honeywell Hepa air purifier. There are always chores to do, when
one turns one's attention away from the computer. CIO

9:15 A.M.: I finished sealing up the
General Electric Profile air conditioner for the winter, and I put the newer
Lasko fan in front of it, but I will not turn it on until the heat is turned on
in a month or so. The older Lasko fan does not seem to work anymore.
I rearranged some of the various items on the window shelf. I put
the neon dolphin light on top of the unused older Honeywell air purifier on the
left living room entertainment center bookcase. The small two
elephant light quit working, and I checked its switch, but I think it is its
plug, so I will replace the plug when I get some time. I am thinking
I should put a chain lock on the inside of my apartment door for better
security, when I am here. It would not be too difficult.

8 P.M.. I chatted with a relative.
I ate breakfast of oatmeal without a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin
with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.
I put the Polaroid and Vivitar digital cameras in the Lasko camera bag with some
spare batteries and the Polaroid instructions also. I left it on the
back of the down sofa. I watched some television. I
showered, and I cleaned up. I went out, and I moved the snow
brushes from the rear area of my Volvo station wagon to the floor of the
passenger side rear seat. I also left a towel on the rear seat for
drying condensation off the inside front window, when the car is not yet warmed
up. I went downtown, and I drove by the far south ATM machine at
Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street, and it seems to be better lit up,
and then I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and
the train station area. During my walk, I stopped by the ATM machine
at the Greenwich Avenue branch of Putnam Trust Bank of New York.
Their lobby is heated, if anyone needs to camp out on a cold winter's night.
I sat out at various locations. I then drove down by the waterfront,
and the regular fishermen seem to have given up fishing. I then went
by the Cumberland Farms on the Port Chester Greenwich border, and I bought a
quart of
Garelick Farms half and half
coffee creamer for $2.49. I then returned home, and I chatted with a
neighbor. I filled half of a gallon Revere pot with water, and I
added dashes of sea salt and a little bit of olive oil, and I brought it to a
boil, and I then boiled a 16 ounce box of Ronzoni vermicelli for 8 minutes, and
I strained the water off through a colander placed in another pot. I
dumped the hot water from the pot down the bath tub drain to clean it out.
While doing that, I took the contents of a 26 ounce jar of Tuttorossa Marinara
sauce, and I added it to a quart measuring cup, and I added the contents
of a 6.5 ounce can of Snow's minced clams, and I mixed it together with dashes
of Italian spices and garlic powder. I then put half of the contents
back in the jar, which I put in the refrigerator, and I put the other half in a
microwave proof pot with lid, and I heated it on three vegetable cycles in the
General Electric microwave oven while the vermicelli was cooking. I
put half of the cooked vermicelli in a flat Rubbermaid container with lid, and I
put it in the refrigerator, and I put the other half on a dinner plate with the
clam tomato sauce on top, and I added four tablespoons of grated parmesan, and I
ate it all with a glass of iced tea. I then washed the dishes.
I installed the Windows Updates on the primary, server, and Toshiba laptop
computers. CIO

their long term floor officer, and they told me once their computers were back
up and running they would fix the mistake in my account. There is
nothing that I need to buy at the moment, so I am doing just fine. I
broke three large eggs in a bowl, and I added a couple of tablespoons of milk, a
teaspoon of olive oil, dashes of Oregano and Italian Seasoning, and I whisked it
all together. I then put a couple of tablespoons of olive oil in a
stick proof frying pan, and I heated it on medium high electric heat, once the
oil became hot, I added the egg mixture, and once it began to solidify, I made a
batch of scrambled eggs.
I ate it all with a glass of 50% iced tea and 50% cold filtered water.

I called up the Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York police department

living in England or Germany with other sets of grandchildren coming from an

6:30 P.M.: I went out to my usual 3
P.M. appointment. Everything seemed fine at my usual 3 P.M.
appointment. I then went to the always busy Greenwich Hospital
Thrift Shop. I chatted with some of their regular customers and
staff. I suggested they should try to move the items faster, but
alas at this time of year with winter heating bills fast approaching, nobody
seemed to be able to afford to buy anything. I suggested they mark
items at various prices, instead of just $10 or $20 that reflect the more
realistic value of the items. I saw an old friend there whom I had
not seen in a while. I told them I am getting so fat recently
that I need to find a pair of suspenders there sooner or later.
Since blue jeans no longer have buttons on them for suspenders, I would need the
type that have clips, or I would have to sew on buttons on my blue jeans.
I then returned home, and I chatted with a neighbor. I had to refuse
to give a pack of cigarettes to a neighbor, since the neighbor loses track of
the cigarettes that are barrowed and does not repay them. Also the
neighbor calls me when I do not feel like being bothered like when I am asleep.
I asked a higher authority to take care of the matter. I then
was contemplating the universe as it exists today, and
www.fedex.com delivered the
Polaroid PDC-2030C 3.0 Megapixel Digital Camera for $19 and $16.84 shipping
and handling for $35.84 total arrived. I chatted with the FedEx
delivery person about how I feel like the Cuban consulate in Greenwich,
Connecticut, and I work all the time, and I never get paid. I told
him if I ever get to be in charge, everyone is going to have to work all the
time without being paid, but subsistence. I guess that would
be communism, but look on the bright side we are free to vote for whom we want.
Still, I try to go by capitalist principals in this area, and promote business
as usual. I then chatted with a relative, and my traveling relatives
arrived safely at their destination today. Specifically I saw
someone that looked like Helen Kress Williams in the Greenwich Hospital Thrift
shop, so they must be checking out their help in Connecticut whom can not afford
to live out in Oyster Bay, Long Island. She still looks like she is
sharp as a tack. One could bid on a more expensive Polaroid camera
Polaroid a530 Performer 5.3 Megapixel Digital Camera , but it has two weeks
to go in the bidding process, so more than likely it will be pricey.
I do not take pictures of the general public in Greenwich, Connecticut, since
everyone seems to have a William Morris Agent, but alas I document purchases for
my apartment and take pictures on vacation and I occasionally take scenic shots
in Greenwich, Connecticut and if anyone happens to get caught in the picture
that is their tough luck. However, nobody looks at my picture skills
as I display them on the internet
Michael Louis Scott's Photographs
and
http://www.geocities.com/mike2scott2006 . Thus one can see how I
protect people's privacy while using my photographic skills. I will
open the new Polaroid camera from its packaging once I wake up tomorrow.
I ate two scoops of coffee ice cream and three 1.5 inch by 1.5 inch by .25 inch
slices of Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese. Lillian
Wilson is Wanda the Wicked Which of the West, Helen Kress Williams is the witch
of the east, so I guess she could be either wicked or not, depending on what her
informants tell her. Besides Kress department store which went out
of business, she also has the Williams Energy company
Williams , so usually she is warmer during
the winter. Next thing Tennessee Williams will be wanting to use my
rather advanced computer setup for word processing, which would be like using a
Ferrari to drive to the end of the driveway to pick up the mail. I
will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go to bed soon.

anything enjoy getting out in the cooler more refreshing weather after the
sultry days of summer. Alas at the moment, I would prefer to keep
busy at home, since I really have no objective in going downtown. I
do not see any point in wasting energy to go downtown to buy bananas and take a
walk. A frugal Scotsman was one of my original neighbors here, and
he use to enjoy taking a walk around the building every day. Of
course at his age, he also enjoyed a couple of Scotches every evening, and he
supposedly lived to be a 102 years old, which is young by Scottish standards.
He once threw out his old Philco radio about 15 years ago, and I use it for a
plant stand for about five years, and then I gave it to the Greenwich Hospital
Thrift shop, and as I recall they sold it for $75 probably to some vintage Radio
collector. Of course my apartment is pretty modern in terms of
modern electronics, but alas, they also take a bit of work to maintain, and by
Scottish standards spending $259 plus tax for a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate

better investment to buy 10 shares of Microsoft

have a very well organized switchboard and departmental listings.
They told me I need to know the name of a person for an inquiry, which does not

In other words the telephone operations at Microsoft do not seem well organized.
Possibly they might think about publishing their company telephone directory.
I am somewhat leery of organizations that publish and broadcast lots of public

3:45 A.M.: I woke up at 9 A.M.
yesterday morning. I called up the Mason Street Branch of Putnam Trust
Bank of New York, and they put back in the service charge that they had
mistakenly charged me. However, they put in extra $33 too much, and
when I called them back later nobody was there. I then called the
Riverside Office, and they told me I could keep it, since it would cost more
money to take it back than for me to just keep it. After covering
their many branches for 23 years, I guess that works out to the fact that they
have paid me about $1.50 a years, which is not very profitable. I
called Microsoft
Microsoft in Redmond, Washington - Yellow Pages - Switchboard and their New
York office about them buying the U.S. Tobacco office across the street from the
Greenwich Library. I chatted with the New York Office operations
manager, and he suggested I chat with their real estate office in Redmond,
Washington, but Redmond Washington told me they do not have a real estate
office, so I chatted with their legal department. I chatted with
Key West Hotel Resorts & Florida Keys
Beach Accommodations - Casa Marina Resort Key West , and I suggested that
they should advertise in Montreal, Canada, since when it is colder down there in
the winter, the Canadians seem to enjoy it. I went outside, and I
threw out some garbage, and I picked up my mail, and I chatted with some
neighbors. I ate a few handfuls of peanuts and four 1.5 inch by 1.5
inch by .25 inch slices of Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese.
I then went back to bed. A relative called me to tell me that a
private plane had hit a building in Manhattan, and I went back to bed.
A friend of mine has a younger brother that lives on East 72nd street in
Manhattan. I woke up at about 7 P.M., and I had a package outside my
door from a relative. I received a dark brownish pattern Orvis
sports jacket that fitted me, a yellow and a blue and white pin strip Brooks
Brother dress shirt, and a blue and white and green check Ralph Lauren check
shirt, and a blue and white stripped Brooks Brothers polo shirt.
I ate breakfast of oatmeal without a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin
with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee. I
chatted with a relative whom is traveling today. I went back to bed.
I woke up at 1 A.M.. I watched some television. I made
by bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes. I still have not been
credited the $29.99 for the Polaroid camera from Fort Worth, Texas that I have
cancelled. It usually takes about three days to receive the credit.
I have my usual 3 P.M. appointment today. I will now microwave a
Banquet 7 ounce frozen chicken pot pie for four minutes, and I will also
microwave the remaining stir fry mixture on the vegetable cycle, and I will eat
it all together with a glass of iced tea. It is dampish out, so I
guess I will stay inside, and I will work on the computer after my meal, and I
will go through my email. There is no real purpose in going downtown
so much other than an exercise walk, but dealing with the general public is a
distraction from my other activities, so recently I have been spending more time
at home. CIO

4:45
A.M.: I woke up at 2 P.M. this past afternoon. I
reheated one half of the remaining stir fry mixture, and I ate it with a glass
of iced tea. I showered, and I cleaned up. I went out to
my 4 P.M. appointment. I then went downtown, and I walked the entire
length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. I sat out at
various locations. I stopped by CVS during my walk, and I chatted
with two of their regular customers. I finished my walk, and then I
noticed somebody had left a CVS cart besides the veterans monument, so I wheeled
it back to CVS. I then bought from their small 75% off table a orange
plastic four cup and four spoon and tray condiment set for $2.49 plus .15 tax
for $2.64 total. I then returned back to my car, and I returned
home. I microwaved a 7 ounce Banquet chicken pot pie and one half of
stir fry mixture, and I ate it with a glass of iced tea. I then
chatted with a relative. I placed the condiment set on the EpsonStylus
Color 880 printer stand on the dining table to have available for use.
I then tried starting up the primary computer, but it kept freezing on startup.
I tried repartitioning and reformatting and restoring the hard drive, but it
froze on restoring the backup. I then tried the Max Blast II utility
on floppy disk, but it would not read my SATA IDE hard drives.
However, the Max Blast CD does. I then installed a new IDE
cable on the hard drives, and just to be on the safe side, I did a low level
format of the first one percent of the hard drive. I then
repartitioned it, and I tried to partition it with the first 50 megs. unused,
but after formatting, when I restored the Vista Complete PC backup, the Vista
Complete PC backup restore although it has an option to uncheck the restoring
the partition, it does not work, so I restored the same partition backup.
Thus the computer is back to working the way it was this morning, and it is
running just fine. It is the nature of building one's own PCs, if
one keeps enough spare parts around, one can usually fix them easily.
A malfunctioning IDE cable on the hard drives is the most common problem with
personal computers causing failure. I checked on a neighbor
returning home with a friend, and I explained that I work during these hours, so
I do not party. Bank of New made a mistake on their computers charging me
overdraft charges, when I was not overdrawn, so I have to call them later on
today to make sure they take them off. CIO

9:45
A.M.: In XP, I ran the Office 2003 repair option. I then
reinstalled the Business Contact Manager and its updates, so the SQL server is
now running on startup again. I do not know what the bloody SQL
server does, but I think it is some sort of spy ware putting out content on the
internet from my primary computer to Microsoft. I have not had much
time to research it. However, anyway after my walk, and getting out
of the Skunk Works for a while, the computer seems to be running better.
I then booted Vista beta RC2 build 5744, and I did a Complete PC backup from the
first hard drive to the second hard drive. I will now shut down the
primary computer, and I will take a nap for a few hours. I will get
up at 1 P.M., and I have a 4 P.M. appointment to get ready for.
Being primarily a night person most of my life, I find the tedious chores of
daytime appointments and other daytime activity a distraction from the more
serious computer work, I seem to get done at night. By using the black
back ground in Vista and XP, I think it might cause less wear on the monitors.
I found a good pair of sun glasses I had put underneath the fax and Lexmark
X1185 printer stand that I had forgotten about, so I put them on the plastic
file rack with my other glasses, and I also put out my tinted driving glasses
that I have never worn, since I worry if I wore them with a minor prescription I
think in the left lens, I would need them all of the time, and I do not have a
regular prescription to wear at night, and I do not think driving with sun
glasses at night would be to my advantage. Be sure to remember, the
hurricane season does not end until the end of November down south.
Thus one should remember to check

best early guess, try to check this occasionally

to go down south for the winter, and one is left up north in the tundra, one can
always study
The Old Farmer's

country. From a Four Seasons perspective around here, the winter is a lot
longer than the shorter summer. Of course at this point people are just

we are not yet building snow men. CIO

A.M.: I woke up at 8 P.M.. I chatted with a relative and
three friends.
I put one third of the remaining stir fry mixture in a Rubbermaid container with

large Cobalt Blue soup bowl, and I ate it with a glass of iced tea.
I turned on the air conditioner to cool down the apartment, since the
temperature was up to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. I went outside briefly, and I
chatted with some neighbors. Although it is cooler outside, the
windows are not easily opened. I showered, and I cleaned up.
I went out, and I threw out some garbage. I drove over to Walgreen's

batteries on sale for $5.99. I went to CVS at the Riverside Shopping
Plaza, and I bought two 12 packs of CVS Alkaline AA batteries for $4.99 a 12
pack, and two 20 ounce jars of Planter's dry roasted peanuts for $1.99 each plus
.60 tax for $14.56 total. I noticed they have Halloween items on
sale. I then went by the Food Emporium, and I bought a 10 pack of
quart packages of America's Choice dry powdered milk for $6.99 a 10 pack box.
I then returned back to downtown Greenwich, and I walked the entire length of
Greenwich Avenue and the train station area, and I sat out at various locations.
I chatted with another night person. I noticed the office at the
corner of Greenwich Avenue and East Putnam Avenue at One Pickwick Plaza seems to
be undergoing renovations. I believe there use to be a men's
clothing store there in the past, but it did not last long, since people in the
country tend not to wear too many suits unless they commute into Manhattan.
Basically the British Commonwealth network push people wearing suits, since they
produce a lot of wool, but although it is warmer in cold damp weather, it is
also expensive to have dried cleaned and not always practical for chores.
However, suits usually had ample pockets for holding various items such as eye
glasses, keys, and pocket change, and other items such as a wallet. Men
are not encourage to wear wallets in their hip pockets, but frequently carry
them in their jacket pockets, but I think it frequently is easier to have
somebody pick pocket it in their jacket pocket. Since this is the
New York City area, we frequently get professional pick pockets working this
area. I next drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road, and the
usual late night fishermen seem to have all disappeared. I then
returned home. I opened up a Banquet 7 ounce frozen chicken pot pie,
and I placed it in a similar size microwave proof plastic half high pot, and I
microwaved it for 4 minutes. I then emptied it out of its cardboard
holder into a soup bowl, and I ate it with a glass of iced tea. I will now

A.M.: I slept until 2 A.M. after the last message. I put
one fourth of the stir fry mixture in a Rubbermaid container with lid, and I
heated it on the vegetable cycle for two cycles, and I put it in a large Cobalt
Blue soup bowl, and I ate it with a glass of iced tea. I watched
some television. I watched one of the episodes of this
SAVAGE EARTH Online , and if
one searches "volcano" at
www.pbs.org , one
comes up with a lot of programming they provide. I started up the
primary computer, and it was malfunctioning. I tried to fix it, but
it got worse. I booted the MaxBlast CD, and I did a quick low level
format of the first hard drive, and then I partitioned it to 137.4 gigs the max
on a 160 gig. hard drive. I then booted the Vista beta RC2 build 5744 DVD,
and I selected the repair option, and the option to restore my "Complete PC
Backup" file which I made yesterday after configuring Vista. I had
saved the few files that had changed. I had one problem booting
Vista, and on my PC
http://mikelouisscott.com/computer.htm , the computer would not boot the
Vista DVD, until I had removed the USB 2.0 hub with the 512 meg. USB 2.0 pen
drive in it from the PCI USB 2.0 card port. After I restored the backup,
the computer ran just fine. I restored the few files that had changed, and
just to be on the same side, I scanned my Smart Card and Pen Drive for any
viruses. I plugged the USB 2.0 hub into the motherboard USB 2.0 hub,
which does not seem to cause a problem with the Vista DVD booting. I
uninstalled the Microsoft SQL server, which I do not need running in the back
ground on my computer. It is running better than before. I do
not know what could have caused the problem, but that is why I keep multiple
backups, and that is why if I ever can afford to buy Vista, I want the Ultimate
or Business additions with the Complete PC backup feature. Of course on
backups, one does them regularly, but one has to remember to save one in case a
recent backup is no good. Whatever caused the problem is a mystery to me.
I now have to reinstall the Microsoft Vista drivers for the MS 6000 wireless
optical mouse and comfort keyboard on the Vista partition. The Vista
Complete PC restore option give one an option of not repartitioning the hard
drive to its original state in case one wanted to install a larger hard drive
with larger partitions. CIO

I returned it back to the USB 2.0 hub which I now have plugged into the USB 2.0

the 512 meg. USB 2.0 pen drive. It takes a while to copy them.

P.M.: The Polaroid camera that I ordered uses a Smart Media card and not a
SD card. Since I do not have a Smart Media Card, I emailed them in
case it has not been sent to cancel the order for the Polaroid camera. It
is a holiday weekend, so maybe I will hear back from them on Tuesday, if they
have not sent it yet. I chatted with a relative. I
opened up the package with my 512 meg. SD card, and I installed it the primary
computer to my card reader. I copied most of the files from my 512 USB
drive to the SD card, and I am now deleting the files on my USB drive.
I will then install it in the spare USB 2.0 port card slot in the rear of the
primary computer. Vista has a feature when one can use a USB drive
for caching to speed it up, but I am not sure the 512 meg. USB drive will be
large enough for that feature or not. CIO

I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil,
orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee. I went back
to bed until 4 P.M.. I chatted with a relative. I threw
out some garbage, and I chatted with some neighbors. I walked around
the building. I chatted with the relative again, and I chatted with
another relative. I changed my advertising links on my web servers
from Dell to
www.ibm.com . I never
get any revenue from my advertising links, but I figure IBM is more user
friendly to the local community. I refilled the kitchen Glade
Plug-in refill with a 60% mixture of English Leather Cologne and 40% mixture of
80% isopropyl alcohol. I will now do some regular computer work.
It looks like a lot of the computer parts prices on the internet have gone up
20% to 30%, so with the higher prices for energy, I would dare say other prices
will be going up. With the Dell advertising Java script, it slowed
down the home server anyway for remote users, since it had to draw the Dell
images off the internet from another location probably in California.

A.M.: I worked in
http://mikelouisscott.com/visbeta.htm . I changed the desktop
back ground in XP to black, which makes it easier to see the icons.
I took the large metal bowl, and I prepared a meal. I peeled
and diced two medium onions and one large shallot, and I placed them in bowl to
have ready. I then diced a medium green and two large red peppers and a
medium yellow pepper, and I cut three medium tomatoes into 1/6th wedges, and I
put all of those ingredients in the metal bowl. I then diced into
small pieces a 3/4th of a pound of broccoli crowns, and I cut into 1/4
lengthwise strips a third of a pound of baby carrots, and I broke the tips off a
half of a pound of green beans, and I cut them into half inch slices, and I cut
the black pitted olives in a six ounce dry can of California black pitted olives
in half, I added all of those ingredients that I prepared in the bowl.
I then prepared
Michael Louis
Scott's Microwave Oven Rice Recipe with one chicken bouillon cube and few
dashes of chicken bouillon powder, and I
placed it in the microwave oven set to start, but I did not start it right away.
I then took my large Chinese wok, and I put in about four tablespoons of olive
oil and six minced cloves of garlic, and I started it on the large electric
burner on medium high electric heat. Once the oil and garlic began to bubble,
I added the chopped onions and shallot, and I sautéed them until they were
blanched. I
then added the bowl of chopped vegetables, and I mixed them all together sweating them
in the WOK, and once they began to sweat after a few minutes, I added about 5
more tablespoons of olive oil, and I mixed them together also adding generous
portions of garlic powder, chicken and meat seasoning, ground black pepper, Old
Bay Seasoning, celery salt, chicken bouillon powder, and
Italian spices. Once they sweated a few more minutes, while I mixed
them around a few times, I started the rice. I then added to the WOK
about a quarter of cup of Rene Junot white French table wine and about eight
tablespoons of Kikkoman soy sauce and four tablespoons of lemon juice, and I
mixed it all together, and I then added about 5 ounces of Swanson's chicken
broth, and I mixed it all together over the same medium high electric heat
adding three bay leaves. About the time the rice finished its 11
minute cycle, I reduced the WOK to a medium simmer, stirring the
ingredients. After another 5 minutes when the rice had
completed cooked in the microwave rice steamer and was prepared, I added the
rice to the WOK mixtures, and I mixed it thoroughly into the mixture in the WOK,
and then I simmer it on medium another five minutes. I then put one
fourth of the WOK mixture in a large Cobalt blue soup bowl, and I put the
other three fourths in a large Rubbermaid container with lid in the
refrigerator. I ate it all with a glass of iced tea. I
washed the dishes. CIO

A.M.: Before going through my email, I decided the new bike was
still in the way in the bedroom entrance, since I frequently have to wake up and
go to the bathroom when I am asleep. I have the long green
Scott sofa on the outside window living room wall pulled away from the wall
about 15 inches, so there is room for the heat in the winter to circulate.
The bicycle petals only spread apart 14 inches, so I lifted the bike behind the
sofa, and I positioned it, so the wheels and the various wires do not touch the
electric radiators, and there is ample clearance for heat to circulate in the
winter. I had to use a large B&M baked bean can to prop up the bike
handle resting on the window sill, so the front tire does not come near the
electric radiator. It works quite well, and the new bike is
now out of the way indefinitely, but it is available in case there is a major
energy shortage some time in the future, when there might not be too much car
traffic in this area. I would not normally be riding the bike in the
winter anyway. Thus out of sight out of mind. I have a
feeling energy prices might go up after the election, and it would take less
than 15 minutes to get it out from behind the long green Scott sofa if I needed
to use it regularly. The only other alternative is to store it in
the back of my station wagon, but I would prefer to leave its regular seating
arrangement open. Thus for the first time in a long time, the walk
way area along the living room closets leading to the bedroom and bathroom is
completely free to navigate through. Still, it is a rather compact
apartment, and although I have organized it quite well, compared to more
spacious surroundings in the area, one might feel closed in, but by New York
City standards, it is a standard Pied A Terre. Also in two or three weeks,
when it gets colder, and one does not need outside ventilation, I will use duct
tape to tape the Styrofoam sheets over the air conditioner and left opening side
with Plexiglas over the opening, and I will disconnect the air conditioner, and
I will lower the curtain over it by unhooking the safety pins, and I will move
the Lasko fan in front of it, and I will run it when the electric heat is
circulating to move the heat around the apartment to prevent it from rising into
the void of the false ceiling. I do not turn on the heat in the
bathroom, and once it gets cold, I leave the bedroom thermostat at about 50 to
60 degrees Fahrenheit, and I use my electric blanket and comforter to stay warm
in bed, and I let the fan move the warm air from the living room into the
bedroom and elsewhere around the apartment. I also set the
living room thermostat at 76 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit which keeps the living
room about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Back to my email. CIO

A.M.: I microwaved a bag of popcorn, and I ate it with a glass of
iced tea. My General Electric microwave oven has a Popcorn button
for microwave bags of popcorn. One just put it in with the right
side up, and closes the door and presses the popcorn button, and then one
carefully opens it because of hot steam, and pours it into the metal bowl
hanging on the bookcase beneath the microwave. Granddad Scott use to
grow popcorn on one of his farms, and he would keep a bushel of popcorn ready to
husk in the basement along with the cheaper coal furnace in the old days, but I
suppose things have gotten more modern out there in Illinois, and around 1960,
he switched from coal to fuel oil. Back in the old days of
www.lfc.edu , we use to pay 12.9 cents a gallon
for fuel oil on the Farm
http://mikelouisscott.com/photo/mike-scott-the-farm-illinois-1970.jpg in
Northwest Lake Forest, Illinois known as Knollwood, Illinois about 8 miles
distance from Adlai Stevenson's farm in Libertyville, Illinois with an
International Harvester factory in between. More than likely that
factory made tanks during war time, so it was probably a formidable group of
people around there. The McCormick family of
International Truck and Engine Corporation are well known Illinois
republicans, so more than likely they have some friends that are able to move
around, when we are stranded in the energy depleted northeast of the U.S.A..
Imagine cruising Greenwich Avenue in this
International : International APC or these
International : Military and Government LLC . Thus Adlai
Stevenson was not really that Liberal. Since I have not yet been
forced to use my new bicycle yet, since there is still a lot of traffic in this
area, I moved it from behind the living room couch in the walk through area to
resting against the bedroom door slightly projecting into the bedroom and bath
hallway. It does make it a tighter fit to get into the bedroom, but
basically it makes it easier to pass through to the bathroom. Also
it looks a bit better in the living room. I put a couple of old
socks on the petal that protrudes into the bedroom entrance way, so one does not
hit oneself on the petal when waking up in the middle of the night to go to the
bathroom. CIO

A.M.: I went out after the last message. I drove down by
Grass Island, and there did not appear to be any flooding along the waterfront.
It looked perfectly normal for this time of year. They have put up
nice white picket fences to disguise the boat work areas. I
drove by the southwest Horseneck train station parking lot, and in the southwest
corner they have daily parking slots, and they are marked as being $5 a day, and
they place an envelope on the car window for you to pay. However,
there do not appear to be more than about 50 spots, so I am sure they fill up
fast. I then drove down by Steamboat Road, and there were a few
fishermen. I then drove over to the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank
of New York on Mason Street, and they forgot to turn on the night lights on the
ATM machine, so it is hard to see to use. I used my car flash light
to see the ATM machine. I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I
read P.C. World magazine. I then went by CVS on Greenwich
Avenue, and I bought four 12 packs of CVS AAA alkaline batteries for two for
$4.99, and two 2 packs of CVS 9 volt alkaline batteries for $5.49, and a package
of 50 Singer one inch safety pins for $2.19 less a $2.50 off CVS coupon and .91
tax for $16.07 total. I can use the AAA batteries in my new Polaroid
camera, and I use the 9 volt batteries every Christmas time when I replace my
three smoke detector batteries. I then used the ATM machine at the
Greenwich Avenue branch of Putnam Trust Bank of New York. I
then used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center. I
then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.
I sat out at various locations. It is the first cooler night I can
remember this Fall. There was an average crowd out and about.
I then went by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon gasoline station, and I
bought $10 of premium unleaded self service gasoline at $2.959 a gallon for 61.2
miles driving this past week at 17 miles per gallon average driving 17 miles per
hour. I then went to the Stop and Shop, and I bought two six packs
of Thomas' English muffins for $1.49 each, a 16 ounce bar of Stop and Shop Swiss
cheese for $3.99, two 59 ounce containers of Tropicana orange juice with calcium
for $2.50 each, a 1.75 quart container of Edy's low fat almond praline ice cream
for $3.14, a 10 pack of Orville Redenbacher's
Orville Redenbacher's 90% less

$2.50 each, a bulb of garlic at $1.99 a pound for .26, shallots at $2.99 a pound
for $1.79, and a package of a old green, old red, and old yellow peppers for .86
for $34.70 total. I then returned home, and I brought up my
purchases. I closed the center hallway stair outside window, since
it is cooler out. I put away my groceries. I then used
nine of the one inch safety pins, and I took out the curtain hangers, and I used
the safety pins to hymn up the Scottish St. Andrews flag, so it is only 7 feet
high instead of 8 feet, which is the height that I hang it from. I
put the package of 41 remaining safety pins in the small box that holds my
sewing kit in my top left drawer in the mahogany bureau in the bedroom.
I ate a 1/6th piece of cheery pie with a glass of iced tea. I will put the
new batteries with the other batteries on the left sideboard shelf in the
bedroom. I turned off the Honeywell Hepa air purifier to save on
electricity. CIO

I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil,
orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee. I made my bed, and
I washed the breakfast dishes. I threw out the garbage and the old
periodicals and old computer magazines. I did my house cleaning and
watering the plants. I went outside briefly, and I picked up the mail.
I put a new AA alkaline battery in the small electronic clock on the upper shelf
of the wire rack behind the living room entrance door. I played the
new Sony carousel CD player while I was doing my house cleaning, and it works
just fine. However, sometimes when one rotates the carousel to
change the disks, it makes a slight rough changing noise, but it does seem to
work all right.
I will now reheat the remaining stir fry mixture left over from last night in a

I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil,
orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee. I made my bed, and
I washed the breakfast dishes. I showered, and I cleaned up. I
changed the bedroom hallway flags around, so the Scottish St. Andrew's and the
Swedish flags are flying. I went out, and I threw out some garbage.
I mailed my monthly expense report to a relative at the Valley Road Post Office.
I then went to my usual 3 P.M. appointment on Thursday. I viewed the
new 2.5 acre park on the south side of the Greenwich Hospital Watson wing
Hospital's garden, memorial dedicated - Greenwich Time . It is a
spacious park to sit outside and view the outside grounds. I was
told that it is a smoke free park, but I saw somebody smoking a cigarette there.
They have a nice "911" memorial there. Possibly in an emergency, one
could also land a helicopter there, but they usually use the playing field
behind the Town Hall for that. I then went by the Greenwich Hospital
Thrift Shop. They have a number of old sofas there. I
then went downtown, and I walked lower Greenwich Avenue and the train station
area. Instead of stopping by Zen stationary to play my monthly
dollar scratch card, I went by the Greenwich Cigar Store across from the train
station, and I invoked the Hindu god "Shiva"
Shiva - Wikipedia, the free
encyclopedia to the India sales clerk, and I asked him to select the easiest
dollar scratch card to play. I then went outside the shop, and
I scratched the "ACES HIGH" scratch card on a parking meter nearby, and I came
up with a dealer card of Jack, and my highest winning card was a King, and I
scratched the card, and I had won a $100. I did not bother touring the
Greenwich train station, but instead I returned to the Greenwich Cigar store,
and the sales clerk verified my $100 winning, and gave me five $20 bills.
"Thanks A Lot Shiva". Well, then I was in a better mood, since I
might be able to afford to go downtown a little bit more this month.
I walked back up Greenwich Avenue, and I chatted with two regular village
watchers. I then deposited my winnings at the Putnam Trust Bank of
New York branch on Greenwich Avenue which is opened until 5 P.M. on Thursdays.
I then walked up Greenwich Avenue, and I stopped by CVS, and I bought a
Southwestern Bell Freedom Phone S60505K cordless telephone battery for $9.99

bought two 18 ounce cans of Progresso New England clam chowder for $1.49 each
for $2.98 total. They kept the extra 2 cents, since I did not spend the
entire $3. I chatted with another regular night time person. I
stopped by the new Vineyard Vines store, and I chatted with them about Nantucket
and Martha's Vineyard. I then completed my walk. I used
the bathroom at the Senior and the Arts center. I chatted with
another regular walker on Greenwich Avenue. I reminded the walker
for people using the long term parking at the southwestern Greenwich train
station parking lot in the southwestern corner, there is long term parking for
Amtrak users. I think one pays a bill for the service.
Also the Stamford train station has Amtrak parking too. I think it is
about $8 a day. I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I read the
Greenwich Time. I chatted with the reference librarian about the Nantucket
library. I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought two 10 pound bags
of Carolina parboiled enriched rice similar to Uncle Ben's for $4.89 a bag, a
day old store bakery baked whole cherry pie for $2.50, two 5 ounce bottles of
House of Tsang Pure Sesame Seed Oil $2.99 each, and two 15 ounce bottles of
Kikkoman soy sauce for $2.09 each for $22.44 total. I then returned
home, and I picked up my mail, and I brought up the purchases. I
chatted with a relative. I installed the new cordless telephone battery in
the Uniden 900 MHz 2 line cordless telephone on the bedroom desk, since the old
one had worn out. It comes completely charged, and the phone now
works just fine. One has to make sure one has the right cordless telephone
battery for various cordless telephones, because there are lots of different
batteries for them. I will now reheat half of the remaining stir fry
mixture left over from last night in a one quart plastic microwave proof pot
with lid on two or three vegetable cycles on the General Electric microwave
oven, and I will put it all in a large Cobalt blue soup bowl, and I will eat it
with a glass of iced tea. James M. Bakers III is scheduled to speak

rate raise if my average usage goes up some more. They are talking

P.M.: I chatted with a relative. I took two dinner
plates, and I prepared a meal. I peeled and diced two medium onions,
and I diced a large green and another red pepper, and I cored three medium
tomatoes, and I cut them into 1/6th wedges, and I put all of those ingredients
on one dinner plate. I then diced into small pieces a half pound of
broccoli, and I cut into 1/4 lengthwise strips a third of a pound of baby
carrots, and I broke the tips off a half of a pound of green beans, and I cut
them into half inch slices, and I cut 20 large black pitted olives in half, I
added all of those ingredients that I prepared on another dinner plate.
I then prepared
Michael Louis
Scott's Microwave Oven Rice Recipe with one chicken bouillon cube, and I
placed it in the microwave oven set to start, but I did not start it right away.
I then took my large Chinese wok, and I put in about four tablespoons of olive
oil and three minced cloves of garlic, and I started it on the large electric
burner on medium high electric heat. Once the oil began to bubble, I
added the two plates of vegetables, and I mixed them all together sweating them
in the WOK, and once they began to sweat after a few minutes, I added about 5
more tablespoons of olive oil, and I mixed them together also adding generous
portions of garlic powder, chicken and meat seasoning, ground black pepper, and
Italian spices. Once they sweated a few more minutes, while I mixed
them around a few times, I started the rice. I then added to the WOK
about a quarter of cup of Rene Junot white French table wine and about six
tablespoons of Kikkoman soy sauce, and I mixed it all together, and I then added
about 5 ounces of Swanson's chicken broth, and I mixed it all together over the
same medium high electric heat. About the time the rice finished its
11 minute cycle, I reduced the WOK to a low to medium simmer, stirring the
ingredients. After another 5 minutes when the rice had
completed cooked in the microwave rice steamer and was prepared, I added the
rice to the WOK mixtures, and I mixed it thoroughly into the mixture in the WOK.
I then put one third of the WOK mixture in a large Cobalt blue soup bowl,
and I put the other two thirds in a large Rubbermaid container with lid in the
refrigerator. I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.
Earlier before preparing the meal, I diluted the tea in the orange juice

P.M.: I hung up the new Chaps flannel shirts in the bedroom closet
before going to bed. I woke up at 9:30 A.M. this morning.
I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil,
orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee. I made my bed, and
I washed the breakfast dishes. I went downstairs, and I picked up my mail.
I showered, and I cleaned up. I went out, and I went by Putnam Trust
Bank of New York on Mason Street. They now have a new lobby that is
smaller and two entrances at the rear. The one at the rear center
might be a bit drafty in the winter when the cold weather blows into the lobby
using up all of their heat. I still like the entrance at the
southern rear which supposedly is now for private banking. Also the
rear center entrance has steps which some older people might not want to
negotiate. I chatted with their representative for private banking, and
they told me they charge 1% management fees per year. Of course
Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street, also tends to be a local business
bank with many merchants and the town doing business there. I think
the town deposits their quarters from the parking meters there, so it is a good
place to get parking change. I next went by the Wachovia Bank on Benedict
Place, and I paid my rent to the Greenwich Housing Authority. I then
went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop, and they have put out their fall
display of items. I bought a Sony 5 disk CD player with Hyprid Pulse
D/A converter for $15. It was produced on April 1993, and its seems
to be a better model than my Phillips model of the same year that has been
skipping recently. I then returned home, and I took the Phillips
unit out, and from the stereo stack, and I taped its remote control to its top,
after running the AT&T lens cleaning CD on it, I stored it in the false ceiling
above the smoke detector in the living room. I installed the Sony 5
disk CD player in the same location in the stereo system stack, and I ran the
AT&T lens cleaning CD on it a few times. It sounds just great, and
the music does not skip, and it has much better audio quality. I
left 5 CDs in it to have it ready for playing. I usually play music
when I do my house cleaning every other Friday. I will now do some regular

A.M.: I ate a scoop of butter pecan ice cream and a scoop of coffee ice
cream. I watched a bit of a vintage New York City public
relations film called "The Out of Towners". It seems like New York
City has not changed very much over the years. Alas, the Greenwich,
Connecticut people have so little money, they can not afford to help out
stranded travelers, so they pay $50,000 a year for stranded travelers to stay at
the homeless shelter in Stamford, Connecticut where they have more money.
Of course, we do not get many stranded travelers anymore, since so many people
in the New York City area have left after "911" , and so few are now showing up
to visit. I suppose they have found greener pastures.
Since I am a long term resident in the area, I manage to get by based on what I
know about the area. I publish my web notes in case anyone
else wants to partake in the same adventure of a low scale lifestyle in an
upscale community. I saw Godrey Rockefeller snicker at me this evening
when I passed him at one of his usual haunts at Starbucks on Greenwich Avenue,
but he would not be able to afford hang out there, unless his mother did not
work so hard at the Merry Go Round Mews thrift shop. He was at the
Social Security Office, when I applied for SSI Disability income about 23 years
ago, so if he were collecting social security at age 65 years old back then, he
would be 88 years old today. It is amazing how the low key low
stress lifestyle in Greenwich helps preserve people. However,
he might be working as a German spy now, since he frequently drives a BMW
convertible. He has a bit of my father's look, since my father's
mother's grandmother was a Davidson. Maybe we should have a Davidson
family reunion at
Davidson College
, but if it were between Godfrey Rockefeller and Dwight Davidson Eisenhower,
whom do you think would win, or for that example the Harley Davidson Motorcycle
Club of you choice. Needless to say these family feuds tend to be
expensive, and if you do not feel like a polite chat with W. Averill Harriman's
sister, you can always contact him up at Arden House. There use to
be a gentleman that lived in this building for about the first 12 years that I
was here that looked a bit like him, however he is probably trying to figure out

P.M.: I went out after the last message. I walked lower
Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. I chatted with the
owner of the Figaro restaurant about French activity in the area. I
suggested that with all of the French speaking people in the area, Cablevision
should put on some French broadcasting stations, particularly since most of
their energy comes from Canada. When Cablevision called me up, the
return telephone ID was
www.uu.net , so they
must use them for internet service or maybe they use them for calling.
After my shorter walk, I sat out briefly, and then I went by the Stop and Shop.
I did not drive down by the waterfront, because I figured on a warm evening,
there would be plenty of people down there keeping an eye out on Long Island.
At the Stop and Shop, I bought a quart of Stop and Shop Half and Half for $2.99,
four 59 ounce containers of Simply Orange orange juice with calcium for $2.50
each, ten 7 ounce Banquet chicken pot pies for .50 each, 2 Stouffer's 16 ounce

I put it in the one quart cup, and I covered it with microwave proof plastic
wrap, and I heated in the microwave for 16 minutes, unfortunately the water
evaporated too quickly, and the artichoke was a bit crispy and dry.
Thus I was not able to eat it. One probably needs to use a cup of
water while cooking it that long. I put an inch of water in a Revere three
quart pot with steamer tray, and I added a quart of baby carrots and broccoli
crowns, and I steamed it all for 15 minutes turning it from medium high to
medium electric heat once the steam started. I also cut last three
.25 inch thick slices of cold eye round, and I put them on a dinner plate with
Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce and a little bit of horse radish on each.
I put the steamed vegetables in a bowl with a little bit of olive oil.

P.M.: I watched some television. I went outside, and I
threw away the shipping box that the shirts arrived in today. I
chatted with an English neighbor about England. I explained that I
had never been there, but I had studied it a bit. I explained how it is my
viewpoint for British government officials live like they are in that old
British television show "The Prisoner"
RetroWeb Classic Television: The
Prisoner. The British resident mentioned some television shows
that I had not heard of. I told the British resident I like the one
with the two fat woman who rode a motorcycle with a side car, and as I recall it
was a cooking show. Alas when you do not have too much food, because
you spend so much money on Cablevision, you can always watch cooking shows.
However, if you get too fat, you have heart problems, and the local Cspan 3 is
showing the Tennessee senator Bill Frist whom before politics was a heart
surgeon. Every time I use to go down to Washington D.C., the only
person that I would run into and chat with was a heart surgeon named Dr.
Gillespie whom who use to be having drinks at the 1782 restaurant, and we use to
chat about medicine. For some reason, he thought I was with Time
magazine. I guess that is because when I left Ronald Reagan's
inaugural, I returned to Westchester County airport on the private Time magazine
jet. I guess living here in Greenwich, Connecticut around Time
magazine staff, they must recognize me from the Greenwich Library. Of
course my roommate from college has an aunt whom also started Newsweek magazine
along with the Junior League, but they can not afford to live here, and they
have to rough it on the north shore of Long Island at Sands Point, Long Island
remembering the dreams of when the use to plan strategy for World War II.
Alas since I have very little communications with Long Island, I just chat
occasionally with a friend out there whom covers all of New York State
investigating the race horse business. Alas I do not know that much
about horses, except they like oats and barley, and if one adds a little bit of
molasses, carrots with the green tops, walnuts, and apples, they seem to enjoy
the mix in their feed. The Queen Mary II is suppose to be back in

got a telephone call from the democrats on Lesbian issues, and I hung up the

I guess since the weather is nice, the political types are out in force.
However, usually after election time when the money dries up around here, and it
gets colder, the town quiets down. I called the
Federal Bureau of Investigation that a local
printing operation might be counterfeiting some sort of currency or documents.
They sure have the capability to do so. CIO

from when I use to live down there until 19 years ago, was that Jim Henson of

RCA Victor phonograph record "Amazing Grace", The Pipes and Drums and Military
Band of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards". The first song on the
second side is the "Russian Imperial Anthem" which only last 56 seconds.
Since the Czar of Russia was always the Captain of the Royal Scots Guards when

little bit of influence on their music. On the more important
subject of food.
I studied this
How

top of a medium artichoke with a serrated knife and the stalk off, so it was
flat on the bottom, and then I put a half cup of water in a one quart Pyrex
measuring cup and put in the artichoke, and I put plastic microwave proof wrap
over the cup, and I microwaved it for 12 minutes. However, when I ate
the artichoke, the heart was a bit fibrous, so possibly 14 minutes
would be better. While cooking the artichoke, I cut three 3/8th inch
thick slices of the cold eye round of beef, and I spread a teaspoon of
horseradish over each, and I added a little bit of Lea and Perrins
Worcestershire sauce over them, and after the artichoke was done, I took the
Rubbermaid container of rice from the night before, and I heated it on the
vegetable cycle in the microwave oven. I then put the rice on the
dinner plate with the beef, and I added a couple of teaspoons of Kikkoman soy
sauce over the rice, and then I put the steamed artichoke in a bowl, and
drizzled some olive oil over the center of it. I ate it all with a
glass of iced tea. One eats an artichoke by pulling off the leaves
from the outside in, and using one's teeth, one pulls off the bottom inside soft
part of each leaf, and once the leaves are removed, one eats the heart.
To enjoy the artichoke, it has to be cooked long enough, or it is like eating
cactus. I will now go outside, and I will throw out some garbage,

I explained my viewpoint that it is sabotage it could be anyone.
From what I know, and for all I know I could be running a Chinese telephone
company on the internet with my cable modem and computer setup. If
one is bothered by someone eves dropping on one's apartment, one could just play
some sort of music that would annoy the person eves dropping on the apartment.
One can eves drop on any domestic home through their telephone connection even
when the telephone is hung up. As they say in another foreign navy

P.M.: Also I have been keeping accurate track of my cigarette consumption,
and I was off two packs of cigarettes in my count since I shut down this
morning, and I received the new cigarette order, so the motive in intruding into
my apartment besides tampering with the computer systems is to steal cigarettes
from me. To continue to run the motion detection camera on the
server, I would have to leave it going all of time, and there is no point in
that since the server is not going online. I did notice at
noon today, when the building custodian when out for lunch, he left the
custodian's work room opened, and there is a set of keys to each apartment
conspicuously hung in that work room, so possibly somebody has gained access to
the keys to the apartments in the building. Possibly the intruder
would be smoking Seneca Ultra Light 100 cigarettes in box, or disposing them on
the sly to some other smoker. CIO

P.M.: I woke up at 10 A.M. this morning.
I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with
olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee. I made
my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes. I went outside, and I
threw out some garbage, and I chatted with some neighbors. I checked
out certain maintenance items around the apartment. My cigarette
delivery arrived, but the U.S. Postal Service did not have me sign for it, like
they were required to have me sign for it. Something seems to be not
right around here. When I went out to Cablevision and returned on
Saturday, I discovered that sometime in the past few days, my primary computer
had been accessed on the Vista Beta partition. Specifically the
screen resolution had been changed on the left monitor, and the task bar had
been moved from the left monitor to the right monitor and locked.
Thus it would seem obvious that someone had gained access to my primary
computer. I have not written down the bios password or told anyone
it. I did say it aloud one time a few nights ago, so possibly my apartment
audio is monitored. Thus it would seem that AMI BIOS from Norcross,
Georgia which also makes the Award Bios has installed some sort of universal
password in their Bios setups that somebody probably out of Georgia Tech would
probably know. If one cleared the Bios, the old password would not
still be there. The only possible reason for accessing my computers
would be to steal my backups of the overall systems, since it is time consuming
to configure a computer, but since there is nothing sensitive on my computers
and there is never that much money in my bank accounts. Possibly somebody
could be planting some sort of Trojan Program or keystroke logging program on my
computers. It would not be anyone in the U.S. Government, because
they would not waste their time, but possibly a foreign national group of people
would do it. I chatted with a relative. I will now do

thick slices of the cold eye round of beef, and I spread a teaspoon of
horseradish over each, and I added a little bit of Lea and Perrins
Worcestershire sauce over them, and after the artichoke was done. I
made up a batch of
http://www.geocities.com/mikelscott/mlsrice.htm also adding one beef
bullion cube, and I put half in a Rubbermaid container in the refrigerator.
I then put the rice on the dinner plate with the beef, and I added a couple of
teaspoons of Kikkoman soy sauce over the rice, and then I put the steamed
artichoke in a bowl, and drizzled some olive oil over the center of it.
I ate it all with a glass of iced tea. One eats an artichoke by
pulling off the leaves from the outside in, and using one's teeth, one pulls off
the bottom inside soft part of each leaf, and once the leaves are removed, one
eats the heart. To enjoy the artichoke heart, it has to be cooked
long enough, or it is like eating cactus. I paid the extra $2.03
that I had not yet paid on my Cablevision bill, since I now know the exact
amount. I pay to Cablevision for Cable Digital Television with two
decoder boxes, Optimum Online Cable Modem with Boost Service, and Optimum Voice
long distance telephone service for unlimited long distance in the United
States, Canada, and Puerto Rico the large amount of $148.03 a month.
However, when one considers it now costs about $3 for me to drive downtown and
back for a walk, it is cheaper to stay home and watch television.
West Putnam Avenue for me is too noisy to walk around at night, since the
automobiles move faster as they drive by. CIO

A.M.: I chatted with Cablevision Optimum Boost, and I was told a
number of their other customers have had the same problem with their web
hosting, so hopefully it will be fixed some time soon. After I
chatted with them, the Optimum Voice telephone line started making an off the
hook sound, so I checked the telephones a number of times and restarted the
cable modem a number of times, and then I chatted with Optimum Voice tech
support. I was told to disconnected the system from the modem, so I
disconnected the five splitter from the modem, and I connected up one telephone,
and it worked fine. I then disconnected the telephone network plug form
the five splitter which is the left plug, and when I reconnected the five
splitter and the network plug, the telephone network now works just fine.
I watched some television. I ate a piece of cheese cake. I
took a shower, and I cleaned up. I had to repair the nearest entry
hook hold on the shower curtain, because the hook had ripped off the plastic.
I repunctured the hole, and it works just fine, and I did a double puncture, so
two layers of the shower curtain at the near entry end are attached to the hook.
I chatted with a relative. CIO

P.M.: I woke up at 2 P.M..
I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with
olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee. I made
my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes. I did a Windows XP Automatic
System Recovery backup of the primary computer C: drive to the second D: hard
drive. I also did a Complete PC backup in Vista to the external hard
drive. I went outside, and I threw away my garbage, and I walked
around the parking lot. I dialed up chatted and left messages with a
circle of friends and associates. I finished eating the bag of Lays
sour cream and onion potato chips with some iced tea. CIO

A.M.: When I returned home this past evening, I ate a piece of
cheese cake, and I just ate another piece. I worked with

A.M.: I went through my email. I can try to install the TV card in
Vista, but I do not think its audio will work, since my SoundBlaster Audigy 2
Value card does not work in beta Vista RC1 build 5728. CIO

10/01/06 Sunday 4:00
A.M.: I studied this
How
to Cook 2 Artichoke . I then cut the top inch and a half off the
top of a medium artichoke with a serrated knife and the stalk off, so it was
flat on the bottom, and then I put a half cup of water in a one quart Pyrex
measuring cup and put in the artichoke, and I put plastic microwave proof wrap
over the cup, and I microwaved it for 7 minutes. However, when I ate
the artichoke, the heart was a bit fibrous, so possibly 9 minutes or 10 minutes
would be better.
To enjoy the artichoke, it has to be cooked long enough, or it is like eating
cactus. I will now send out my weekly notes. CIO

10/01/06 Sunday 2:40
A.M.: I watched some television after the last message, and then I
went to bed. I woke up at noon. I called up Cablevision,
and I spent a bit of time trying to trouble shoot the server to no avail.
A neighbor gave me
Surplus Computers Hauppauge WinTV-GO TV Tuner Capture Card that arrived in
the mail. I finally repackaged the new Motorola cable modem, and I
went out without cleaning up, and I went by Cablevision in Port Chester, New
York, but they were closed. I then drove up to Cablevision in
Norwalk, Connecticut, and I exchange the cable modem for the same model Motorola
cable modem. I then went by CVS at the Riverside Shopping center,
and then I went by Radio Shack at the Riverside Shopping Center. I bought
a 5 line telephone splitter for $13.99 and a 8 foot Monster Standard THX
certified COAX video cable for $14.97 plus $1.74 tax for $30.70 total.
I then went by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.
They seem to be doing their new renovations still. I then returned
home, and I chatted with a neighbor. I then ate a piece of cheese
cake. I installed and activated the cable modem. I also
installed the new five line cable splitter on the Optimum Voice part of the
cable modem, since the old one had part of its connector break off, so it would
not stay in securely. With the longer 8 foot cable for the TV card
from the gold two way splitter, I was able to place the cable modem on top of
the stereo speaker in the corner of the computer setup beneath Grandad Boven's
portrait, where it is in a more secure location. I also had to
tightened the cable that leads into the two splitter, so it was making a better
connection, since it had pulled out from its fitting a bit. I
chatted with a relative, and Optimum Voice sounds just great. However, the
server still does not go online, and Port 80 is still not opened to the
internet, although Optimum Boost says it is. They told me they would
trouble shoot it some more, and get back to me in a half of a day.
I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with
olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee. I made
my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes. I chatted with a relative, and
I left a message with some friends. I installed the
Hauppauge
Computer Works: WinTV-GO card in the primary computer, and I installed
Hauppauge
Computer Works: Support these drivers and program for the card.
I installed the driver first, and when one first reboots XP, the system crashes,
but when one reboots again with the option of the Last Good Configuration, XP
Plug and Play installs the correct drivers, and the system then works just fine.
I then installed the program, and tested it, and the TV card works just fine.
I installed the short audio cable from the TV card to my Sound Blaster Audigy2
Value card input plug, and the sound plays just fine, and I can either play it
on low sound at night with the speaker system, or I can plug in the Panasonic
stereo headset to the right of my work station hanging on the CD rack into
the primary speaker plug which disables the speaker sound and plays into the
headset. The primary speaker is on the middle printer stand shelf.
I only get the Cablevision Analog channels and I do not get their digital
channels, but it is a very clear picture, and it works quite well.
One can also capture it, and send it out with Microsoft Messenger. I
then straightened up my work area. I will try to install it in
Vista also when I have a chance to test its Multimedia Center program. CIO
