Note: <888> 10/31/08 Friday 7:25 P.M..  After the last note, I ate 5 dried prunes and a Kashi bar.  I watched television, and I finished the Vista Complete Backup to the Maxtor external hard drive about noon, and I shut down the primary Vista computer, and I went to bed.  I woke up at 4:30 P.M..  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I chatted with a relative.  I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.  I did a Vista Complete PC backup of the primary Vista computer from the first hard drive to the Bytecc external hard drive.  I also did a XP Professional ASR backup of the Bedroom Gigabyte computer to the Maxtor external hard drive.  I watered the plants.  I threw out the garbage and the old periodical literature.  I moved my Audi to its usual place.  I picked up the mail.  I will shower and clean up shortly.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/31/08 Friday 9:20 A.M..  I paid my www.cablevision.com Digital Cable Television, Optimum Boost Cable Modem, and Optimum Voice Long Distance, and I also paid my www.cl-p.com electricity bill, and my www.verizon.com telephone bill.  I ordered from www.ordersmokesdirect.com eight cartons of King Mountain Ultra Lights 100s in a box for $15.99 a carton and $20.45 shipping for $148.37 total.  I will now do a Vista Complete PC backup from the first hard drive to the Maxtor external hard drive.  I will then shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/31/08 Friday 8:20 A.M..  I ate 5 dried prunes the night before last.  I woke up yesterday at noon. I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went out to my 3 P.M. appointment.  I returned home, and I chatted with a neighbor.  I picked up the mail.  I had been having problems with the primary Vista system not installing the Windows Updates, plus it was running sluggish.  I restored the Vista Complete PC backup from the Maxtor external hard drive from a new Vista install and configuration on July 11, 2007.  I chatted with a relative.  I microwaved and ate a 16 ounce Boston Market chicken primavera dinner, which I ate with watered down passion punch.  I chatted briefly with a friend.  I then did some minor configuration of the primary Vista computer, and I was not able to install Vista SP1 upgrade from the DVD download upgrade, but I was able to install it from Windows Update without any problems.  I restored the files that I had backed up to the second hard drive, and I installed a few programs that I had installed since the new install.  I did not install the Encyclopedia Britannica.  I restored my email.  I set up the printers.  Thus I have a new install and clean configuration of the primary Vista computer.  I did a Vista Complete PC backup from the first hard drive to the second hard drive.  I ate two Nathan hotdogs on buns with ketchup and Dijon mustard and watered down passion punch.  I also earlier ate 15 dried apricots.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/29/08 Wednesday 4:40 A.M..  I ate a toasted bagel with margarine and watered down passion punch.  I chatted with an out of town security official.  I am a bit tired, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go back to bed soon.  Not much happening in the world anymore, now that nobody has any money anymore to speak of.  In the old days when the republicans were not doing too much, they use to do needlepoint, and now I guess with the internet, they can now blog on the internet.  Obviously nobody seems to have very good written communications skills anymore, and or they are afraid to write it out.  From what I can tell, a lot of these people that one reads about that supposedly have lots of money, probably do not have that type of money, it is just their way of hustling people with less money.  I guess, the next thing the New York City people will be doing is trying to sell the Brooklyn Bridge again.  I have lived in Chicago, Illinois area for the four years, I went to www.lfc.edu , and most people there did not have much money, and they were usually happy if their old cars started on a cold winter's day, after they shoveled the snow off the car.  They were not too cosmopolitan or too worldly wise, but there were a few blue bloods that had been out east to school, so they had left the farm for a short period before returning back to the quieter life in the Midwest.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/28/08 Tuesday 7:15 P.M..  I ate 9 dried prunes before going to bed.  I woke up at noon.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I threw out the garbage.  I went to my 3 P.M. appointment.  I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought two 12 ounce packages of Plumrose sliced hams steaks two to a package for $4.99 both packages, fresh Chiquita bananas for .64 a pound for $2, a six pack of Stop and Shop plain bagels for $2.59, and a pound of Land-O-Lakes margarine for $1.50 for $11.08 total.  I then returned home.  I noticed the Shell Station West Putnam Avenue is now selling regular grade gasoline with cash payment or debit card payment for $2.799 a gallon where the Mobil station on West Putnam Avenue and the Exxon station next to the Greenwich Library are about a dollar more per gallon.  The Shell station now has TVs at their gasoline pumps.  I think His Highness the Aga Khan's 71st Birthday might be a major stockholder in Shell, so maybe he is giving away gasoline at a cheaper price to get his candidate Obama elected.  I was told last night by one Obama supporter the election might go to the Supreme Court.  Obama apparently cancelled his visit to Port Chester, New York today for no apparent reason.  I chatted with a neighbor about the price of tea in China.  I picked up my mail.  The order for 7 Port LED USB 2.0 Hub, Clear Blue for $6.99 with coupon code "HUBADAP7P" and free shipping for 6.99 total arrived.  It is like the one that I already had on my primary Vista computer.  I put the new one on the primary Vista computer, and I transferred the older one to the Epox computer.  I did not receive the special USB cable for it, so I used the same type USB cable from old card reader.  I have the newer transformer on the primary Vista computer setup too.  The USB port device is on the back side of the Epox computer, and I have it connected to the control center to turn it on and off, and I moved the cable for the HP laser printer to the Northgate Syntax control center.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/28/08 Tuesday 4:00 A.M..  I don't know where the democratic party gets its money for advertising the current political campaign.  From what I know 15 years ago, prime time advertising on the three major networks costs $2 million dollars a minute, and with the rate their advertising they must be bankrupt by now.   I ate two Nathan hotdogs on hotdog buns with ketchup and Dijon mustard on them along with watered down passion punch.  I have a 3 P.M. appointment today.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.

Note: <888> 10/28/08 Tuesday 2:15 A.M..  I used the three eights <888> in my notes, not derived from the letters H.H. in the alphabet like Hail Hitler as mentioned in the previous link, but it is derived from Octagonal Buildings List of octagonal buildings and structures - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and List of octagonal buildings and structures in the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia which were historically interesting architecturally in terms of the fact that they had something to do with keeping track of natural phenomena in the areas where they were located.  I know of the Octagon House in Key West, Florida that Calvin Klein restored, the Octagon Hotel on the west side of Manhattan called the Jane West Hotel, the Octagon building in Washington D.C., and I believe there is an older Octagon building in San Francisco.  Also the two pillars on the inside of the Senior and the Arts center here in Greenwich, Connecticut have octagon bases.  As I recall the building that I currently live in has 11 sides not 8.  As I recall the United States of America highway sign known as a "Stop Sign" also has eight sides.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/27/08 Monday 10:55 P.M..  I woke up at noon today.   For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.  I threw out the garbage, and I picked up some mail.  I chatted with neighbors.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I had a telephone call from the Chase Bank about the telescope device I saw opposite their building.  I chatted with a local security official on another matter.  I went out, and I went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street.  In the late afternoon sun, it looked like there was not a telescope device in the Pickwick Plaza windows.  I chatted with an officer about it.  I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I saw a Smart Car parked on Railroad Avenue.   I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I stopped by CVS, and I bought four 20 ounce SunSweet Gold Label Pitted Bite Size Prunes dried plums for $2.50 each container, a box of six 1.2 ounce Kashi granola bars honey and almond flax for $2.50 each box, and a Fixit Tools 130 Piece Ratchet Set for $5.99 plus .36 tax for $21.35 total.  I then walked by the Chase Bank on Mason Street after they closed, and when it was dark, and I used the ATM machine.  I surveyed the One Pickwick Plaza windows on the rear side to the west of their parking lot, and sure enough on the first floor of windows just opposite the parking spot just north of the Bank of New York handicap parking space, one can see some sort of telescope device on a tripod.  It looks less like a telescope and more like a Radio Telescope or Microphone telescope.  I suppose if they were doing surveillance on the banks, they probably would hide it with an artificial plant or something, so possibly it is something harmless.  I was told by a departing Chase Bank employee that he had seen the device.  I then walked over to the front of One Pickwick Plaza, and it looks like it would be on the main floor rear of the front side.  There is no building directory in the lobby, so I did not walk into to see whom might occupy those offices.  I do know the United States Trust Company and the Morgan Stanley Company are in One Pickwick Plaza.  I finished my walk.  I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I sat out for a while.  I then drove over to the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with a couple of regular patrons.  I was told by the patron that bought the Apple laptop computer for $40 from Ebay that he had to put a new hard drive in it, which is not too difficult or expensive.  I barrowed the 2009 copy of the The Original Farmer's Almanac since 1792 - The Old Farmer's Almanac , and I read the one page weather forecast for 2009, and I photocopied five copies of it and by mistake, I made two bad copies for .70 expense.  I returned it to the Reference Desk.  I gave one copy to a regular patron that spends time outside, and the other copy to the entrance information counter person.  It basically says because of El Nina the weather in this area will be slightly colder this winter than usual with a little bit more snow than usual, which I figure is a pretty good forecast compared to what I have been told.  It does say there could be late season hurricane in New England though, which we have not had yet.

I then returned home.  I chatted with a relative.  I microwaved and ate a Boston Market 16 ounce chicken primavera dinner, which I ate with a glass of watered down passion punch.  I put the 130 piece rachet set behind the left primary Vista computer LCD monitors with the other small computer tool kits.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/27/08 Monday 4:10 A.M..  After I showered, and I cleaned up.  I broke my right thumb nail at the cuticle because it was too long, and it bleed a little bit.  I clipped my finger nails and toe nails.  I put away the laundry.  I will now make and eat a three egg omelet with two slices of processed cheese and grated parmesan and Romano cheese on it, along with five strips of fried bacon, and a toasted bagel with margarine and watered down passion punch.  Passion punch came from a term when I was at the The Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut back in the spring of 1968 during spring break, I went to Bermuda with three classmates one from Katonah, New York, one from New York City who later worked in the U.S. Justice Department, and one from Lexington, Kentucky, and we stayed with four other preppies from the Middlesex school in Concord, Massachussetts, and we partied constantly for three weeks.  Every day, whenever we finally woke up, we would gather up all of the liquor bottles left around from High Tea the day before and the previous nights parties, and we would put the remains of the liquor in a large refrigerator vegetable drawer, and throw in a lot of different fruit juices, and we would start our day drinking it to get us going, and we would call it passion punch.   We stayed at the Glyndon Guest House which as I recall was about $10 to $5 a night for each of the eight of us in the small cottage half way between Elbow Beach and Hamilton, and we would frequently have over 200 guests for High Tea, and we occasionally made it to the Rugby matches to watch them, where we would also drink a lot of Heineken.  The fellow from Katonah ended up living in Palm Beach after he left Queen Nord of Jordan before she was Queen, and the fellow from Lexington, Kentucky does not seem to have left Kentucky, and the fellow from New York City retired to Memphis, Tennessee, and since he is a lawyer, some of us use him for communications.  The fellow from Katonah also lived with Jimmy Buffet in Key West, when I was homeless down there, and he ran the Road House Bar in Nantucket, when I was a dishwasher in Nantucket, but I never saw him around, since he tends to not go out in the sun very much.  He finally married his childhood sweet heart from New York City, and he has too college age children, and he told me he is not Irish, but black Irish, which are the Spanish who went to Ireland, and he along with the other classmate that has lung cancer now both speak Spanish, since they took Beezer Manning's Spanish courses at Taft, and Beezer Manning besides being related to the Taft family was in the C.I.A.  www.cia.gov in Brazil.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/27/08 Monday 2:35 A.M..  I woke up at noon 10 A.M. yesterday.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I watched some television.  I went back to bed until 2 P.M..  I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.  I chatted with two relatives and three friends.  I watched some television and rested.  About 8 P.M., I microwaved and ate a Maria Callendar 21 ounce frozen lasagna dinner which I put some grated parmesan and Romano cheese on, and I ate with some watered down passion punch.  I threw out the garbage, and I chatted with a neighbor.  I went to bed from 9 P.M. to midnight.  I watched part of a program about former President Lyndon Johnson.  I am doing two loads of laundry, and I have 30 minutes to go on the dry cycle.  I put clean linens on the bed.   I will now shower and clean up.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/26/08 Sunday 3:15 A.M..  I ate the same dinner as last night without the onion.  I am a bit tired, so I will now shut down the primary Vista compute, and I will rest some more.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/26/08 Sunday 1:45 A.M..  It is my viewpoint that millions of Americans buy tax free cigarettes and gasoline from the American Indians along with enjoying Indian reservation gambling, which is part of the United States government treaties with the American Indian tribes on their reservations, and as such it would seem that the state of Connecticut mafia figures are trying to shake down local residents.  We all know that the state of Rhode Island is the most corrupt state in the nation, so possibly the neighboring State of Connecticut is also near the top.  Obviously with all of the various local mafias involved in local government in this area, there is a high degree of corruption that everybody ignores.  I have even made 500 telephone calls to the local www.fbi.gov in this area over the last two years over various matters, and they just turn a deaf ear.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/26/08 Sunday 1:20 A.M..  I was emailed that a former Taft School classmate The Taft School that was roommates with the son of the original Marlboro man now has lung cancer, and he put these too links on his web site which is private Duke Raleigh Hospital and http://www.freetobreathe.org/ .  I know smoking cigarettes is not good for you, but whenever I have quit smoking I have dealt with so many other health hazards, that I have tended to go back to smoking cigarettes, but I will probably try to quit sometime in the near future.  Also I was told by a friend that lives in Connecticut that placed orders for four orders once for 10 cartons each of discount cigarettes from www.ordersmokesdirect.com or 40 cartons several years ago, he recently received a $900 tax bill from the State of Connecticut.  In my case, if they bothered me, I would have to declare personal bankruptcy, and I would have to go back to smoking my tobacco pipes which are still available.   However the additional pipe tobacco smoke in my apartment might cause the building fire alarm to go off, and it might be costly to the Greenwich Housing Authority and the Greenwich Fire Department to respond for a pipe tobacco alarm. It is the nature of my volunteer activity that I still smoke cigarettes.  Also the state of Connecticut received over $250 million from tobacco companies to help local Connecticut residents quit smoking, and none of the money was ever made available to Connecticut residents that smoke, and was spent on other projects.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/26/08 Sunday 12:50 A.M..  Of course the telescope at the Pickwick Plaza in Greenwich, Connecticut facing the Chase Bank and the Bank of New York Mellon parking lot on Mason Street could be looking for all of the money that has been lost in Cyberspace.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/26/08 Sunday 12:40 A.M..  The last time the economy was in a down turn in the 1970s, I took a job as a minimum wage dishwasher in Nantucket from 1976 to 1983 just to survive and keep a roof over my head, and from that experience I do not tend to fall for the modern propaganda about get rich schemes and other fast buck con games.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/25/08 Saturday 11:10 P.M..  I made and received a few telephone calls through the day, when I was not sleeping.  I went downstairs about 2 P.M. to pick up my mail.  I chatted with two friends and a relative today and a local security individual and a local banker.   I woke up about 8 P.M..  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I watched some television.  I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.  Today seems to have been a rainy day wash out without much happening.   Well, at least it is not snowing yet.  With the colder temperatures arriving, it seems some of the more Nordic residents in the community are more visible, particularly at night.  I suppose people from the neighboring communities such as Bedford, New York come down to pay us visits, since they do not have much happening in the back country in Bedford, New York.  I guess at least they can afford to drive down here, where I suppose it is tougher on the Greenwich people to drive way up north to Bedford, New York, where not much ever seems to happen.  From what I can tell, there are probably fewer people venturing into Manhattan from this area on weekends, so since it is rather costly to venture into the Big Apple, they have to make do with whatever activities that are available in this area such as raking leaves and getting ready for the winter.  I suppose fewer people can also afford to escape away to warmer environments this winter, so more than likely they will be pursuing more of the usual northern past time activities.  A local Egyptian resident told me that Obama is Muslim, and he is being financed the Saudi Arabians, but more than likely in the colder weather around here, fewer Saudi Arabians will be venturing into this area anytime soon.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/25/08 Saturday 12:45 A.M..  I woke up around noon.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I watched some television.  I went back to bed until 6 P.M..  I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.  The order for Scotland National Geographic 2009 Wall Calendar for $6.99 and Volcanoes 2009 Wall Calendar for $13.99 with free shipping using coupon code "EMFREE9" for $20.98 total arrived.   I left them on top of the HP printer at the apartment entrance.  I watched the NBC evening news.  I ate a baloney and cheese sandwich with 1/7th of a tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips along with a dill pickle slice and a glass of watered down passion punch.  I threw out the garbage and the old periodical literature.  I watered the plants.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went out, and I went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street.  I deposited my $10 monthly survey check from Scarborough research in Palo Alto, California.  I noticed in the third floor window in the Pickwick Plaza on the west side of the Chase Bank and the Bank of New York parking lot, somebody has a telescope on a tripod positioned I guess to keep an eye on the banks.  In the daytime the glass is reflective in the Pickwick Plaza, but at night you can see the telescope.  I then went by the Chase Bank on central Greenwich Avenue, and I got some more deposit slips and deposit envelopes for the car, since the Chase branch on Mason street was out of deposit slips, which is frequently the case.  I then chatted with a relative on my wireless telephone.  I next walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  I used the bathroom at Starbucks.  I then drove over to the Stop and Shop, and I bought a three pack of Fleishmann's dry yeast for $1.99, a pound of Stop and Shop margarine for .99, a pound of Stop and Shop whole milk mozzarella cheese for $4.29, a two pack of Stop and Shop blue toilet drop in tablets for $2.69, and a bulb of garlic at $2.99 a pound for .42 for $10.38 total.  I then returned home.  I took down inner and outer shower curtains, and I washed them in the laundry room along with the bathtub rubber mat in 2 cups of bleach and two caps of liquid detergent, and I put them back up, so they are now clean again.  One does not dry them in the dryer, since they would melt in a dryer.  I also put a new blue toilet tablet in the toilet tank.  CIO

I looked at Demographics of New York City - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia to try to figure out what goes on around here.

I chatted with two friends.

I chatted with a local internet security person.

I had a telephone call from www.hp.com up in Montreal, Canada trying to sell me computers, and I gave them some business tips.

I went outside briefly, and I chatted with neighbors.

I did some bottom fishing on the internet.  I took an hour nap on the sofa.

The Philips SRU4105WM Satellite & Universal Remote (5-device) for $9.99 with free shipping arrived.  I put two AAA alkaline batteries in it.  I had to pull out one of the battery post wires a little bit further for it to make contact.  However, it works fine.  I program the Sony TV for TV, the Scientific America high definition cable box for Cable, the Phillips CD/DVD player automatically recognized it under DVD, the Daewoo DVD/Videotape player under VCR, and the Technics amplifier tuner underneath Satellite.  I also programmed and labeled the 10 speed buttons for ten cable channels.   I left it on the right side of the Northgate Syntax computer table with its instructions.  I put the Cablevision Digital High Definition remote control underneath the center primary Vista computer monitor, so it is available to use with the K-world high definition device attached to the right monitor.  You can not bounce the signal off the mirror, you have to point it at the Cable box on top of the Sony television.  I went outside, and I threw out garbage, and I picked up my mail.  I ate the same dinner at the last three nights.  I made up another batch of passion punch.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I watched the NBC evening news.  CIO

If Obama gets elected, he should be quite at home in Washington D.C. Washington, D.C. - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia , since if you look under Demographics, D.C. is 55.4% African American, so more than likely his own people might have to get back to work to help him out.  However, with a population of 588,293, it is one of those relatively small towns that over advertises itself.  It says in the 1990s, D.C. was the "murder capital" of the Unites States, so it is not necessarily a safe town.  Thus those people whom get Potomac Fever or White House Fever, should think about the security of their associates.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/22/08 Wednesday 12:30 A.M..  I started up the Toshiba laptop, and I had to reinstall the Netgear Wireless card software to get it to work.  However, it does not find www.optimumwifi.com in my Vinci Drive neighborhood.  It finds one WiFi at 28% strength named Eric.  I have another Netgear Wifi USB adapter that might have greater range since it has a small three inch antenna, but I did not try that.  I still have the WiFi option in my apartment, but I never turn it on, since I don't need to use it with my LAN connections, but it is easily available for use by turning on the left control panel switch on the FIC server, and it activates the AT&T wireless router and the Linksys wireless router, but I have never needed to use them except for testing them when I set up the Toshiba laptop wireless.  I do not leave them going, since I don't want my systems hacked by the nearby Western Junior High School.  However, if a visitor showed up with a WiFi laptop, they are available.  They are 8.0211G, so they have a bit of range.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/19/08 Sunday 10:20 P.M..  I got up at 7 P.M..  I chatted with a relative.  I had a town hall meeting telephone call from Chris Shays Congressman Christopher Shays .  There were 26 people waiting to tall, so I did not wait to talk, but I listened to a few minutes to what he had to say.  I watched first selectman Peter Tessi on a Connecticut news program saying they are going to build another first station up on King Street.  For dinner, I sautéed one of the pork tenderloins, which I ate with my usual vegetable mixture and a glass of watered down passion punch.  I did two loads of laundry, and I have 12 minutes to go on the dry cycle.  I put clean linens on the bed, and I took the summer pink and green quilt off my bed, and  put the colonial pattern comforter on the bed with an older comforter folded up at the end of the bed with a white and a blue blanket along with the orange afghan and the blue and grey afghan.  I also put the electric blanket on the bed.  I replaced one of the seven year life time energy light bulbs that lasted less than a year on the left side of the bed.  I put the black and the white pattern comforters on the back side of the Scott family sofa in the living room to have available for winter comfort.  I generally do not turn on the electric heat in the apartment anymore to save money.  I just turn on one of the DeLonghi oil filled radiators for two to three hours when I first wake up to take the chill out of the apartment.  Right now it is plenty warm and comfortable in the apartment, about 74 degree Fahrenheit, and it is 39 degrees Fahrenheit outside.  I also wear flannel pajamas and two pairs of union suits to stay warm in the apartment in the winter time along with warm moccasins.  Saving money on electric heat helps to pay for my computer activities.  I have pretty much done everything to get ready for winter in terms of the apartment.  I still need to get an oil change on the Audi in a month or two.  Also I could think about taking it to the car wash and waxing it with DuPont high tech car wax that I have, but that might be better to do in the spring.  CIO

If one were ordering multiple rolls of the Brother P-Touch 80 tapes, this is about the best deal I can find Brother P-Touch 80 ( PT-80 ) - Label Printer - Brother Printer , since it is $6.99 shipping for multiple rolls and not each roll.  These are the various colors available Brother PT80 P-touch Label Maker Tapes.  Each roll is about 26.2 feet long.   I just reheated and ate the meal.  I will now shower and clean up.  I might get a red on white roll at Staples, but it would cost money to drive all the way over to Staples in Old Greenwich, Connecticut.  Of course while over there, I could take a tour of the beach in Old Greenwich to see if anyone stole all of the sand this summer.  I have not been out there since this past mid June 2008.  I guess I might hold off and do it tomorrow, when I have more time, and I will probably stay in today.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/17/08 Friday 1:10 P.M..  I woke up at 8:30 A.M. this morning.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I watered the plants.  I need to use a siphon tube on the large plant in the window and the left plant on the mahogany bureau to take out some of the water from their drainage trays into a container.  I did my house cleaning, which had not been done since before I went to Maine in early September 2008.  I threw out the old periodical literature and the garbage.  The order for the Brother PT-80 Thermal Electronic Labeling Printer - PT-80 - Buy.com for $12.99 with free shipping arrived.  I will not use it until I can find some cheaper tapes, or I can afford the more expensive ones.   I will now reheat and eat some of the beef stew from last night, which I will eat with a glass of watered down passion punch.  I will then shower and clean up.  I feel better today, but I am a bit tired from the house cleaning, so I probably will not be going out today.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/16/08 Thursday 9:35 P.M..  I went outside, and I threw out the garbage.  With the increased temperature in my apartment at around 78 degrees Fahrenheit, it makes me a bit tired.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will rest for a while.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/16/08 Thursday 8:40 P.M..  I went out after the last note.  I went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a six pack of New York Everything bagels for $3.99, a 16 ounce pack of Kraft singles white cheese for $3, two half gallons of Tropicana Premium orange juice with calcium for $1.99 each, a 64 ounce container of Stop and Shop grape juice for $2.50, a 64 ounce container of Stop and Shop cranberry juice for $2, a bottom round roast for $2.49 a pound half price for $5.85, a two pound bag of baby carrots for $2.99, broccoli crowns at $1.99 a pound for $2.35, fresh Chiquita bananas at .64 a pound for $1.34, and something at .88 a pound for $1.04 for $26.69 total.  I then went downtown briefly and sat out briefly.  I then went back to the Stop and Shop, and I bought two 14.5 ounce cans of College Inn beef broth for .75 each and two 14.5 ounce cans of College Inn chicken broth for .75 each, a 3 pound bag of yellow onions for $2.99, and a bulb of garlic for $2.49 a pound for .36 for $5.85 total.  I then returned home, and I chatted with a neighbor.  I was told by a checker at the Stop and Shop that Obama is going to appear in Port Chester, New York on October 28, 2008.

I then started making a Chuck stew.  I put four tablespoons of olive oil in a large 5 quart Revere pot, and then I added eight cloves of peeled minced garlic.  I then took the 2 pound bottom round roast, and I cut it into about 1.5 inch cubic chunks, and I added it to the pot.  I added about a 1/2 of a stick of margarine and 1/2 of a stick of butter, and I seasoned it all with garlic powder and ground black pepper.  I turned on the electric burner heat to medium high, and I browned the meat in the pot until it was browned on the outside.  I added  a 14.5 ounce can of College Inn beef broth, and I mixed it all together, and I continued to let it cook.  I added three medium peeled onions cut into about .75 inch chunks.  I added six medium large white potatoes cuts into one inch chunks, and I mixed it all together.  I seasoned it with Old Bay Seasoning, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, ground black pepper, beef bouillon powder, Maggi liquid seasoning, Angostura bitters and a couple of tablespoons of Kikkoman soy sauce, and I mixed it all together, and I let it simmer with the lid on for 20 minutes at medium electric burner heat.  I then added 1.5 pounds of baby carrots and about a pound of broccoli crowns cuts into chunks, and I mixed it all together.  I then brought it all to a boil again over higher heat, and then I simmer it on medium to low heat for 50 minutes with the lid on.  It should be ready shortly.  I will refrigerate what I don't eat, and I will eat it for the next few days, and I guess I will also freeze a couple of portions.   CIO

Note: <888> 10/14/08 Tuesday 11:05 P.M..  After I ate, I chatted with a relative.  I then watched www.foxnews.com Prime program segment with George Herbert Walker Bush and William Jefferson Clinton, FPS, and they have setup another charity to help with Hurricane recovery Bush Clinton Coastal Recovery Fund , and current President George Walker Bush www.whitehouse.gov will be working with them once he retires this coming January 2009.   They also mentioned that the Bank of New York was the first bank to sell $3 billion of its preferred to stock to the government to help refinance its operations, so the Bloomberg headline earlier in the day was a bit misleading.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/14/08 Tuesday 8:35 P.M..  I rested a while after the last note.  I watched some television.  The Bloomberg News said the Bank of New York is suppose to handle the economic bail out money.  I guess the treasury department does not know how to do it.  I chatted with the General Electric Service Contract people who called, and I explained to them, I would not be renewing the service contract on my eight year old G.E. air conditioner.  Hopefully, it will last a while longer, when I installed it again this spring.  The building custodian has not gotten around to storing it yet, but he is aware that it needs to be done.  I went out, and I picked up my mail.  I then went downtown, and I went by the ATM machine at the Chase Bank on Mason Street.  I then went by CVS, and I picked up a prescription, and I bought three 2.5 ounce containers of Gold Emblem garlic powder for .88 each for $2.64 total.  I then sat out briefly downtown.  Not much seemed to be happening.  I then went by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon gasoline station, and I bought $14 of self service premium at $3.879 a gallon for 3.689 gallons for 42 miles driving since 10/05/08 at odometer reading of 61742 miles for 11.385 miles per gallon in regular traffic driving.  I then returned home.  I made up a fresh batch of passion punch.  I will now make a three egg omelet with two slices of processed cheese inside it and grated Parmesan and Romano cheese on top of it, along with five strips of fried bacon, and two slices of whole wheat toast with margarine and butter with some watered down passion punch to drink.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/14/08 Tuesday 3:05 P.M..  After I ate, I threw out the garbage, and I said hello to some neighbors.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will take a nap for a while.  I am still weak and a still a bit sick from having the flu since last Thursday.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/14/08 Tuesday 1:05 P.M..  After the last note, I rested, and I chatted with two relatives, and I watched a bit of television.  I also finished off eating a box of low fat Cheez-its.  I finally went to bed for the night about 10 P.M..  I woke up at 6 A.M. this morning.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I went back to bed until 9:30 A.M..  I chatted with a relative.  Former President Bush #41 is suppose to be on www.foxnews.com Prime program at 10 P.M. tonight doing an interview along with Bill Clinton.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I threw out the garbage, and I chatted with neighbors.  I still have a bit of the flu.  I ordered Brother PT-80 Thermal Electronic Labeling Printer - PT-80 - Buy.com for $12.99 with free shipping.  The label tapes for it cost about $10 at Staples, and they don't seem to be available cheaper anywhere else.  I will use it to label my computer control panels.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I will now make and eat the same breaded boneless breast of chicken and vegetable dinner that I have been eating recently.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/13/08 Monday 4:25 P.M..  I finished programming the directory of the Panasonic two line 2.4 GHz cordless telephone.  It is full at its maximum of 50 numbers.  I watched a program about skiing at a ski resort in Kashmir that is closed because of the war over there.  UPS delivered the order from  Model Selection Model KXTG2267B for two battery covers #PQKK10127ZB for $1 each, a belt clip #PQKE10341Z3 for $1, and a wall mount adapter PQKL10035Z1 for $1 plus shipping of $5.25 and.56 tax for $9.81 total.  I put one of the two battery covers on the phone along with the belt clip, and I put the other spare battery cover and the wall mount bracket in their boxes in the center living room desk drawer.  Thus for about $19.66 including $5 for the phone and $4.75 for the battery, I have the http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Phones-Fax/Telephones/2-4-GHz-Phones/model.KX-TG2267B which is about a $100 phone working just fine.  I went outside, and the mail has not arrived yet.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I found a round silver plate tray about 14 inches in diameter that is recessed about an inch by the dumpster.  I retrieved it, and I can use it for baking in the convection oven for anything that might drip juices like a small chicken.  I put it on top of the convection oven.  I am a bit tired, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  Have a good night.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/13/08 Monday 12:45 P.M..  I ate the same primary dinner that I have eating recently.  I chatted with a friend.  I will now go back to programming the Panasonic 2.4 GHz two line cordless telephone.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/13/08 Monday 11:30 A.M..  I watched a bit of television.  I have eaten 15 dried apricots in the last 24 hours.  I guess since it is a holiday, there is not much happening around here.  From what I can tell, when there is not much happening, the town of Greenwich, Connecticut is more like it use to be years ago, when it was a more remote suburb of a larger metropolis.  CIO

End of Scott's Notes week of 10/13/08:

Note: <888> 10/13/08 Monday 9:25 A.M..  Oil Star would charge me $55 for a non synthetic oil change and filter change, and I have a $5 discount coupon, but it would probably cost me $10 in gasoline to drive over there.  It might be better to go to New Country Audi when I have the money, if they put in synthetic oil.  There is no rush, I have a month or two time before I need to have it done.  I went outside, and I chatted with neighbors.  Apparently a lot of people are hurting financially in this area.  While I was standing outside, I noticed a military jet with missiles on it landing at Westchester Country airport.  I will now send out my weekly notes.  CIO

I called up New Country Audi of Greenwich – Serving as your Fairfield, Stamford and Danbury Audi dealer , and to get an oil and oil filter change on my 1998 Audi A6 2.8 will cost about $80, if I go there.  I have a $5 off coupon for Oil Star in Stamford, Connecticut near Best Buy at 942 East Main street.  I will wait until I get my Renter's Rebate, before I consider having the oil changed.   I think I have less than 62,000 miles on the 1998 Audi A6 2.8 four door sedan.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/13/08 Monday 6:45 A.M..  Happy Columbus Day.  Today is the day people in Nantucket leave to discover America.  I woke up at 4 A.M.  I put clean linens on my bed.  I did two loads of laundry.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I will now shower and clean up.  I still have a bit of the flu, so I will not be going out this morning.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/12/08 Sunday 4:00 P.M..  After I ate, I threw out the garbage.  I programmed part of the directory on the Panasonic 2 line 2.8 GHz cordless phone.  I am a bit tired, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will rest for a while.  The primary Vista computer has not crashed for several weeks, since I have been back from Kennebunkport, Maine, so possibly removing Norton Internet Security 2008, and installing McAfee Internet Security 2008 fixed the blue screen crashing problem.  Also changing the two video cards AGP and PCI GeForce 6200 from the most current Nvidia drive for GeForce 6200 to the April 2006 seemed to have much improved Vista stability, so after three years of beta testing and using Vista, at the moment for now we seem to have a much more stable older computer http://mikelouisscott.com/computer.htm and

I downloaded and installed the Belarc Advisor - Reviews and free Belarc Advisor downloads at Download.com.

This is the profile it created Michael Louis Scott's Primary Vista Computer Belarc Advisor Current Profile.  When the apartment currently warms up in the afternoon without the General Electric air conditioner installed, it tends to make me tired, and also since I have the flu, I am a little weak on energy.  As I recall I had flu symptoms before I got the flu shot this past Friday at the Greenwich Hospital outpatient clinic.  They take my Connecticut State Medicaid there.  I might have gotten the flu from when I put a scoop of Bryers butter pecan ice cream on the Dutch Apple Crumb pie.  The Bryers butter pecan ice cream was over a year in the freezer, and it might have been contaminated by some of the Brazilian Angel Fish mold that is omnipresent in the apartment since I had the Brazilian angle fish before I got into computers 16 years ago or more.  I used to rinse off the used aquarium filter charcoal and keep it frozen in the freezer until I had enough of it, and then I would bake it at the General Electric oven temperature maximum of 550 degrees Fahrenheit for an hour to recycle the charcoal, and I then would reused the filter charcoal again.  Over time, I noticed I had developed something in my apartment like a penicillin mold that has remained omnipresent.  Perhaps it is derived from the angle fish that came from Brazil.  When I just threw out the garbage now, I threw out the old Bryers ice cream.  I also earlier today ate the last piece of Dutch Apple crumb pie.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/12/08 Sunday 1:20 P.M..  Panic Resets Oil Prices - BusinessWeek.  I am not sure if it will be safe to wear my www.exxon.com cap downtown this winter.   I could always cut off the Exxon patch, and go back to wearing the original Polar Bear on the cap that came from the Greenwich Hardware store 75% off rack for $5 about ten years ago, but as I recall the patch cost about $5 with shipping, so possibly the cap is worth more with the patch on it.  I will now make and eat the same breaded chicken and steamed vegetables meal that I have been eating recently.  www.greenwichtime.com shows about all of the local news that I know about around here.  Since I once worked briefly at www.cbsnews.com as a clerk typist for a few months during Watergate, when all of the news was a live feed from the Senate Hearings and there was not much other news, the news aware and private individuals around here have tended to avoid me, since if one gets publicity, it can cost you money that you might not be able to afford, and usually if you don't have anything worth selling, it is not worth getting publicity.  Locally about the only two things anyone is selling from Illinois is the two www.mcdonalds.com on East and West Putnam Avenue and the two at the Darien, Connecticut rest areas, and also the George Weston Bakeries Arnold Bread Factory imports flour and other grains from ADM North America, in Decatur, Illinois from , but their products are no longer cheap since the Arnold Bread outlet store with week old bakery products burned down in Byram, Connecticut last June 2008 during a severe thunderstorm, when their propane tanks were hit by lightning.  I don't know why they used propane to heat the store, when they could have hooked up a heat exchanger with the bread factory, which would have been cheaper, since the bread factory tends to be hot most of the time.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/12/08 Sunday 12:05 P.M..  I chatted with a relative.  There is a possibility that foreign traders are shorting our markets on the foreign exchanges, and then they have to buy them back to cover their shorts, and they are making profits off the margins in the wild fluctuations in the markets.  Thus the markets go down quite a bit one day and up quite a bit the next day.  I do not know anything about market trading programs here or abroad, but they are possibly set to sell at a certain percentage decline irregardless of the fact that they will be up the next day, when the traders cover their shorts.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/12/08 Sunday 11:25 A.M..  An index portfolio is not suppose to out perform or under perform the markets, but it is suppose to mirror the activity of the markets.  However, over a year ago, and since then I have told people they should possibly invest in Long Term Treasury Bills in which case, they might not have made much money, but they would not have lost their capital market investments.  In other words, they would have at least the full value of their original market investments.  However, my only reservation to such a strategy is that if the United States Government went bankrupt, one might not have too much money left, and with recent events that is not an impossibility.  Basically the stock markets which were meant as investment vehicle for raising capital have become more of a gambling operation, and as such the people close to it, or not as objective, and tend to be addicted like any gamblers.  Also since the United States Government is the biggest debtor, they tend to reduce that debt by making money worth less by printing more money and putting more money in circulation creating inflation, where the dollar is worth less.  However, with the recent economic downtown, and some deflation in the markets, the dollar should now be worth more, but we will have to wait and see on that.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/12/08 Sunday 10:35 A.M..  My Million Dollar Index portfolio that I started tracking with Microsoft Money MSN about 8 years ago with about 150 stocks worth about a million dollars was worth $1,905,525.52 on February 25, 2008, and today it is now worth $1,375,093.23, so I would say it would be safe to say it has lost a third of its value since February 25, 2008.  I don't actually own the portfolio, it is just an index portfolio that I put together to track the stock markets.  About 40% of the Portfolio is Berkshire Hathaway A and B stocks.  I will now shower and clean up.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/12/08 Sunday 9:35 A.M..  For Cheaper Cordless telephone batteries, I have been using eBay Store - Battery Boy: Cordless phone batteries, Accessories For Apple iPod, Cell Phone Accessories , but you have to make sure you order the right battery.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/12/08 Sunday 9:25 A.M..  I have been resting and chatting with family and associates, since the last note.  I still have the flu, and I am not feeling any better, so I just have to rest a little bit more.  Yesterday in the mail the order for the NEW Battery for Panasonic P-P511, HHR-P402, ER-P511, - eBay (item 190255109857 end time Oct-06-08 16:27:50 PDT) for $4.75 arrived.  I put it in the Panasonic 2 line cordless 2.8 GHz telephone, and it works just fine stays in without the battery cover which should arrive within a week.  It should be fully charged by noon today, and then I will program it.  I put the Panasonic cordless telephone on the left front of the bedroom desk.  I move the Uniden 900 MHz 2 line cordless telephone from that location to by the sitting chair in the living room by the Sony television.  I moved the single line Uniden cordless 2.8 GHz telephone from that location to the small computer desk to the left of the primary computer with the two non cordless telephones, and it is still connected to Verizon.  I did not need to use the duplex splitter, since there were available splitter connectors on the existing lines, and I also had extra connector telephone lines to rearrange the telephones.  I put the duplex splitter in the drawer of the night stand by the right side of the bed.  I just now chatted with a relative.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.   I now have to water the plants and throw out the garbage and the old periodical literature.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/11/08 Saturday 1:00 P.M..  I finished my meal.  I did not get gasoline today, because with fuel oil down to below $80 a barrel, gasoline might be cheaper later on in the week.  I still have a bit of the flu from my flu shot yesterday, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will rest some more.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/11/08 Saturday 12:10 P.M..  I went out after the last note.  I chatted with neighbors.  I went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street, and I deposited my $20 Crucial computer memory rebate check.  I then went by CVS.  I bought buy one get one free of Chondroitin Sulfate Glucosamine triple strength 80 count bottles for $26.99 both, two Niacin Flush Free 500 mg. 100 tablets for $6.49 both, and two Garlic oil softgels 100 count for $4.99 less a $4 off CVS online coupon for a $20 purchase for $34.47 total.  I then went downtown briefly.  Obama's people were campaigning at Starbucks on Greenwich Avenue.  Somebody that looked like Jimmy Eldert was taping up posters for Green party at the  Unitarian Universalist Society in Stamford .  I guess Jimmy changed religions, because when I knew him he was Roman Catholic.  He still looks a like a beach surfer with a pony tail, but he did not recognized me at my advanced age of six year older than his 52 years of age.  I guess living out in California all of those years, he managed to stay younger.  I then returned home.  I chatted with a relative.  I will now reheat and eat the same chicken and vegetables dinner that I have been eating recently.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/11/08 Saturday 7:50 A.M..  I woke up at 5:30 A.M..  I woke up a few times threw the sleeping period since the last note.  I seem to have possibly come down with a mild case of the flu from my flu shot yesterday.  Also the apartment without the air conditioner installed is a bit warm.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I threw out the garbage.  I picked up the mail from yesterday.  The order for GWC Vista ReadyBoost Compatible Card Reader for $12.99 arrived.  It reads the SD 4 gigabyte card, but it does not work in Ready Boost mode, which does not matter.  I also go a $20 mail in rebate from Crucial memory that I ordered from www.frys.com , but I am also due a $12 rebate on some other memory that I ordered from them.  Maybe they do not send out both rebates.  I also ate two 1/5th pieces of Dutch Apple pie yesterday, so I only have one fifth piece left.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/10/08 Friday 12:45 P.M..  I woke up at 6 A.M. this morning.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went out.  I chatted with a neighbor.  While I was sitting at the smoker's bench on the north side of the building, I saw a spider crawling down the north wall by the bench.  It was about 2.5 inches in diameter, and its center ball was about a 1/3rd of an inch in diameter with a medium purple color.  I went downtown, and I chatted with a local Italian American resident at the Senior and the Arts center.  I then went to the Greenwich Hospital outpatient clinic, and I got my yearly flu shot.  I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.  I then went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street.  I then drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road, and I chatted with one of the most regular fishermen, who is now driving a white Hummer.  I then returned home.  I ate a baloney and cheese sandwich with a 1/8th of a 5.5 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips along with a dill pickle slice and a glass of passion punch.  I will now take a nap, and shut down the primary Vista computer.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/09/08 Thursday 9:40 P.M..  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I set up an appointment tomorrow to get a flu shot.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went out, and I went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street.  I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.  I then went by CVS.  I then went by the Greenwich Hardware store, and I bought a Philips telephone duplex jack for$1.29 and .08 tax for $1.37.  I then sat out for a while downtown.  I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I read P.C. Magazine and P.C. World magazine.  I chatted with a local Swedish American citizen.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a six pack of New York Everything bagels for $3, thick sliced Wondabar German baloney for $2.99 a pound for $4.66, a six pack of White Gem boneless breasts of chicken for $1.99 a pound for $8.18, and fresh Chiquita bananas at .64 a pound for $1.86 for $17.70 total.  I then went home, and I picked up my mail.  I ate a baloney and cheese sandwich with a glass or watered down passion punch, a 1/4th of a 5.5 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips, and a dill pickle slice.  I went out to my 3 P.M. appointment.  I was told that the upcoming winter is suppose to be the coldest winter in a hundred years.  I then went home, and a visitor to a neighbor told me it is suppose to be the coldest winter in 150 years.  I then took a nap until 6 P.M..  I chatted with a relative.  I made and ate the same chicken and vegetables dinner with passion punch that I have been eating recently.  I threw out the garbage.  Currently in my apartment, I am a bit warm, since the air conditioner is no longer available for ventilation, but I have a feeling it will be cold enough soon enough.  With the recent economic down turn, I have been advised not to buy anything off the internet.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/09/08 Thursday 1:20 A.M..  Well, the wealthiest zip code in the United States of America is Fisher's Island, Florida, which used to be a private island owned by the Vanderbilt family when they got too cold in Palm Beach, Florida.  Since the first Manhattan construction project Donald Trump undertook was to restore the Commodore Hotel now the Hyatt at Grand Central Station, possibly he has connections with the Vanderbilt family.  The Biography channel said he went to the Wharton School of Business.   Back at Lake Forest College www.lfc.edu , I knew a local girl whose father ran the Wharton School of Business.  I recall, I once met somebody in Manhattan that had attended the Wharton School of Business, but I can not recall whom it was at the time.  I woke up at 12:30 A.M..  I am now baking a Mrs. Smith's frozen Dutch Apple pie.  It takes about an hour to bake, and then it has to cool for a half hour to two hours.  On a night time schedule for a great deal of my time in Manhattan for the years I was around there, most of the people I knew were graduate students at New York University.  Once they got jobs, they all seemed to disappear from the night time activity.  I don't like going out too much in the daytime, because it is too expensive, and it is too busy.  In the computer field in the New York City area, I was once told the best paid computer people are the individuals whom fix computers on Wall Street at night when the exchanges are closed, and the computers are not being used.  They earn six figure incomes, but they have to work at night.  Of course one of the biggest businesses in New York City is all of the hospitals, so there are also quite a lot of medical personnel awake at night, if you ever happened to be awake at night or the early morning hours in the New York City area.  I had relatives visiting Athens, Greece yesterday, when they had the general strike, so I guess it was a little busy for them.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/07/08 Tuesday 2:00 A.M..  I cleaned my GE Profile 15,500 BTU air conditioner filter with soapy water, and put it back in the front face plate.  I removed the old duct tape from around the Plexiglas sealing up the side of the unit.  While I had the Plexiglas out, I decided instead of sealing it up for the winter like I have done the past eight years that since they are suppose to replace the windows in the spring with dual pane windows, I might as well go ahead and remove the air conditioner which is a cumbersome job.  I removed the face plate cover.  I removed the two sheet metal screws on the lower front sides, so the unit could slide out off its fixed case housing.  I put a sheet over the sofa to protect it. I moved the recliner back after clearing the window area.  I then slid out the air conditioner unit, and I put it on its side on my small rolling cart that I keep in the back of the Audi, and I rolled it out of the apartment into the hallway.  To remove the fixed case, I had to remove four sheet metal screws from the window sill holding the bottom of the case in, and I had a problem with one of them that I was able to finally remove with vice grips I keep in my took case in the back of the Audi.  I lifted out the case with its legs on, and I put it out in the hallway.  I put the small hand towels that I had used for insulation in the laundry bin to be cleaned later.  I put the Plexiglas and plastic cover and screws underneath the right side of my bed.  I labeled the case and the heavy condenser unit.  I cleaned the window ledge, and I closed the center living room window.  I put the four sheets of Styrofoam in front of the window behind the shade.  I held the Styrofoam in place with duct tape.  I put a note with the Greenwich Housing Authority form still outside the custodian's office to store the two large air conditioner pieces away for the winter in the storage area and to return the cart to outside my apartment.  I took the bobby pins out the curtain holding it up above the air conditioner and lowered the curtain over the window.  I put the items back on the window sill along with the white wicker breakfast tray I had stored behind the Sony television.  I straightened up the area.  I put the two DeLonghi oil filled radiators in the living room to have available for colder nights in the winter.  I put one in the center of the living room in front of the telephone table, and I put the other behind the dining table besides the primary Vista computer chair behind the recliner.  I moved the brass hat rack from in front of the sweater closet to behind the apartment entrance door by the kitchen entrance, so it is easier to get at the sweater closet.  CIO

I stopped by CVS.  After my walk, I used the bathroom at Starbucks.  I then drove over the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon gasoline station, and I bought $16 of self service premium at $3.979 a gallon for 4.02 gallons for 49.3 miles driving since September 22, 2008 at odometer reading of 61700 for 12.264 miles per gallon, and I am not using the Audi air conditioner much anymore, except on warmer days.  I cleaned the outside of my windows.  I checked my tires for 34 PSI.  I then went by the A&P Fresh, and I bought two frozen Boston Market chicken primavera for $2.79 each half price, four 12 ounce boxes of frozen America's Choice fish sticks for $1.99 each box, two 6 ounce jars of Gold's Hot Horseradish for $1.29 each, a 30 ounce jar of Smart Balance omega mayonnaise for $2.99, a five pound bag of white potatoes for $2 for $22.11 total.  When I got home, and I brought up my purchases, the mayonnaise and the horseradish were missing, so I much have left them at the cash register.  I will go back tomorrow to get them.  I put away my purchases.  I hooked up the new Microsoft wireless 6000 V2 keyboard and mouse to the primary Vista computer connecting its USB plug directly to the lower left rear USB port that was removed before.  I removed the four port USB 2.0 device that I had installed there, and I guess I will put the four port USB 2.0 device back on the FIC server.  I copied the sales receipt.  I will register the guarantee.  There are Pink Ribbons on Greenwich Avenue like they might be having a walk for cancer later on today.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/04/08 Saturday 5:00 A.M..  I watered the plants.  I threw out the garbage.  I got out the two www.army.mil extreme cold weather good to minus 30 degrees Fahrenheit sleeping bags, and I put one on the far end of the couch, and the other on the floor behind the Epox computer, so they are available for colder weather.  September 2008 was colder by two degrees Fahrenheit than last September 2007, so it might be a colder winter.  I am now just running the fan on the air conditioner.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/04/08 Saturday 4:05 A.M..  As of 10/01/08 at www.cl-p.com , my actual KWH hour usage for the month of September 2008 was 651 or 22 per day over 29 days.  The bill is not yet available.  Of course I was gone 2 weeks in September 2008.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/04/08 Saturday 1:40 A.M..  I took the USB 2.0 four port device off the FIC server, and I put it on the primary Vista computer attached to the lowest left rear USB 2.0 port that was freed up by removing the Microsoft wireless 6000 keyboard and mouse.  However, the primary Vista computer would not boot with it attached.  I removed the 512 meg. compact flash card from the card reader, and the primary Vista computer would boot.  It recognized the four card reader slots on the device.  However, it will not read the 4 gigabyte SD card just 1 gigabyte SD cards.  I ate 15 dried apricots.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/03/08 Friday 11:55 P.M..  I woke up at 8:45 P.M..  I picked up my mail.  The order for PQI 4GB Turbo Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) Class 6 Memory Card - Retail Package (Free Ground Shipping) for $13.99 with 30% off with coupon code "SDC20POFF" for $4.20 off for $9.79 total with free shipping arrived.  However, it does not work with my Nikon digital camera, since it has too much capacity.  I tried it in my primary Vista computer card reader, but that device does not work all of the time, and it is not always recognized which is currently the case.  I attached the card reader device to my FIC server, and although it recognized the device, the FIC server would not boot with it attached. Thus I have the device unattached in the space in front of the primary Vista computer keyboard, and I put the 4 gigabyte SD card in its case underneath the left lower LCD monitor by the 2 gigabyte USB device.  The next time I boot the primary Vista computer, I will try attaching the device again.  I ate a baked boneless breast of chicken cooked the breaded way that I do, and the same vegetable mixture that I have been eating along with watered down passion punch.  I chatted with a relative and a friend.  I was told yesterday that Al Quaida is now recruiting and training recruits in Chile.  I will return the IBM Director kit that I removed from underneath the lower left LCD monitor shelf, and I will give it back to the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop.  I paid $3 for it.  CIO

At $95 million, Helmsley estate a real steal - Greenwich Time .  Back in 1961, when my family first moved to Greenwich, Connecticut from Decatur, Alabama, we thought about buying the Helmsley Estate which back then was called the Topping Estate and was for sale for $250,000, and it included all of its original property.  It was owned by Ralph Infante as a real estate investment, and nobody wanted it for that price for about 10 years, and it stood empty.  I use to play in it as a child, since they would leave the key to the front door underneath the door mat.  I guess times have changed in Greenwich, Connecticut.  Also there seems to have been a bit of inflation.  It was eventually sold, and it became the A.B. Dick estate, and they were in the copy machine business.  Then the Chinese Shipping Tycoon Raphi Tycoo lived there for a while.  I remember once seeing a burned out yellow Rolls Royce convertible in its front driveway, when it had caught fire, and the driver just left it there in the driveway burned out.  When I returned to Greenwich, Connecticut from Nantucket back in December 1983, I went into Manhattan on Christmas Eve, and I went pub crawling in Greenwich Village, and I ran into a Danish visitor who was staying with the Helmselys in Manhattan, and he called up Harry every hour to let him know he was all right, and the following morning the Greenwich Time announced the Helmsleys had bought the vacant house on the top of Round Hill Road.  I once chatted with Harry in Manhattan, when I thought he was a family friend that looked the same.  However, that family friend lived on the waterfront in Riverside, Connecticut, and I once did some gardening for him, and I sailed his sailboat out to Island Beach, and I drove his Thunderbird that Henry Ford had made for him down by the lake at Conyers Farm, but I did not buy it for $250, since I thought it would be expensive to maintain.

The Greenwich Times also said the United States embassy in London, England was moving off Grosvernor Square in London to a less expensive neighborhood that has more room for better security and staff housing.  I am a bit tired, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will take a nap for a while.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/03/08 Friday 3:50 P.M..  I woke up at 6 A.M. this morning.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I threw out the garbage.  I chatted with some neighbors.  I went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street.  I then went by the Wachovia Bank on Havemayer Place, and I paid my rent to the Greenwich Housing Authority.  I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop, and I bought a EIZO 19 inch L66 LCD monitor for $20 made in 1999.  I then went downtown, and I went by the Merry Go Round Mews thrift shop.  I then went by the central Greenwich Post Office, and I bought 20 Liberty Bell 42 cent stamps for $8.40.  I then use the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a six pack of New York Style Everything bagels for $3, a half gallon of Florida Natural orange juice with calcium for $3, two 16 ounce packs of 24 slice Kraft American white cheese for $2.99 each, a 13.5 ounce box of Cheez-its low fast crackers for $3, two 64 ounce containers of Stop and Shop grape juice for $2.50 each, two 64 ounce  containers of Stop and Shop lite cranraspberry juice for $2 each, a 8 ounce container of Parmesan and Romano cheese for $2.50, a six pack of White Gem boneless breasts of chicken for $6.73, a two pound bag of baby carrots for $2.99, fresh Chiquita bananas for .64 a pound for $1.66, broccoli crowns at $1.99 a pound for $1.97, a five pound bag of red potatoes for $4.99 for $41.82.  The reason it was $7 less is that the two packages of sliced Kraft cheese rang up at $4.99 instead of $2.99, so the desk refunded me the price of one and the $2 over charge on another.  I gave a $1 to the Juvenile Diabetes Fund.  I then returned home, and I brought up the LCD monitor.  I brought up my groceries with the folding cart from my apartment, and I put them away.  I hooked up the LCD monitor the bedroom computer, and I installed its updates.  I use the folding cart from the car to take out the Dell 19 inch CRT monitor that I removed, and I put it by the dumpster.  I checked the oil in the Audi, and it was fine.  I ate two Nathan hotdogs on buns with ketchup and Dijon mustard and passion punch.  When I started up the primary Vista computer, the Microsoft 6000 wireless keyboard and mouse would not work.  I removed them, and I installed my spare Microsoft wireless 4000 keyboard and mouse.  I bought the Microsoft wireless 6000 mouse and keyboard last February 4, 2008 on sale for $60, and I also bought a three year warranty with it from Staples in Old Greenwich for $8.  I will drive over there this weekend to exchange it.  The order for Big and Tall Casual Shirts at KingSizeDirect.com KingSize® Premium Woven Herringbone Shirt in blue extra large size for $11.99 less $10 coupon code of "ksrafapr" for $1.99 and $5.99 shipping for $7.98 total arrived.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/02/08 Thursday 8:20 A.M..  I ate two bowls of low fat Cheez-its since the last note.  I had a hard time sleeping, and I woke up at 1 A.M..  I watched two hour programs on the Science channel about volcanoes in Indonesia and Ecuador.  I tried to sleep with out much success.  When the Chase Claims department opened at 7 A.M., I called them at 1-866-564-2262, and they emailed me a form for the fraudulent charges on my debit card of $25 to Yahoo Mail and $15.14 to VOIPAX for $40.14 total.  I filled out the form, and I faxed it to Chase in Dallas, Texas.  They told me it would be a couple days before I would get my money back.  I received email from www.newegg.com that I could get the extra $15 rebate on Newegg.com - SAMSUNG CLP-315/XAA Personal Up to 17 ppm 2400 x 600 dpi Color Laser Printer - Printer - Laser Printers , but now they don't have free shipping, so it would only be $5 less.  I really don't need it, so I will not get it.  www.staples.com was selling it with a $150 mail in rebate from Samsung for $85 after rebate a couple of weeks ago with free shipping, but they would have your $150 for a while.  Also I received email that my $30 mail in rebate on the McAfee Internet Security Suite 2008 three license copy had been approved, so since I paid $12.99 for it from www.buy.com with free shipping, I will be paid $17.01 for using it.  I am a bit worn out, and I have a 3 P.M. appointment today.  However, I might try to rest for a while now.  CIO

If you had purchased $1,000 of Delta Air Lines stock one year ago, you would have $49 left.

With Fannie Mae, you would have $2.50 left of the original $1,000.

With AIG, you would have less than $15 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drunk all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have $214 cash.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.  CIO
