I bought a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99, a 12 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $16.99, and a 64 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $5.99 for $24.97 total. I then went to the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $15.06 of self service premium gasoline for $4.099 a gallon for 3.674 gallons at odometer reading of 126213 miles for 46.4 miles driven since Wednesday October 16, 2024 for 12.63 miles per gallon in local traffic. I then returned home. I put away the groceries. I put the grey bag back in the car. I drank an instant coffee outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside again.

10/30/24 Wednesday 2:40 A.M. On the Vizio TV mini computer stack, I tried to install https://zorin.com/os/download/ with Windows 10 on the bottom ThinkCentre, but that did not work, so I just did a new install of Zorin Linux. However, one has to reinstall the Firefox web browser. I can always restore Windows 10 later.

The most important thing to remember in the last weeks of October is that way out on www.nantucket.net on the South Shore, the ocean current changes and there is a very strong rip tide that can drag one off to Portugal or one would simply drown. That almost happened to be in the third week of October 1977, when I went for a swim off the beach at the Mount Vernon Farm. I swam with the rip tide, and it felt like a whale was swimming along side of me, and I was able to get ashore at the Sewer Beds at Surfside. I guess I had Le Lanquedoc life insurance making it back to work at the restaurant.

10/28/24 Monday 10:30 P.M. I moved the black piano bench from the bedroom to behind the Ethan Allen recliner. From there, I moved the cranberry color ottoman to in front of the Queen Anne chair and the faux leather saddle color chair. From there, I moved the cherry wood Danish square end table to in between the two chairs in the bedroom. From there I moved the small dark oak end table to in front of the mahogany bureau in the bedroom.

10/28/24 Monday 3:10 A.M. All three Optimum services are still not working. I will now shut down the HP laptop. I will then go to bed.
10/28/24 Monday 2:50 A.M. Well, I can still blog about not too much happening in my neck of the woods. I saw a Cybertruck from Texas today and there were still a few Florida cars around. Some people take their time going down South for the winter, and try to network along the way down South. My AT&T and my Tracfone cell phones probably still work. When I lived out on www.nantucket.net , the only communications I had was the pay phone downtown. Last I recall, there used to be a pay phone by the elevators in the main lobby of the Greenwich Hospital. I think it was a dollar though but I can not recall for how many minutes anywhere in the world. Remember, when I used to travel a long time ago, it was before cell phones. Maybe someone could try going outside with a flash light or a lantern and sending an S.O.S. to a satellite, but as far as I can tell there is nothing wrong here. I have a little extra energy having had a big dinner at www.mcdonalds.com for $8.78.
10/28/24 Monday 2:30 A.M. Optimum says there is an outage in my neighborhood effecting all three of my services.

10/28/24 Monday 2:25 A.M. The Optimum Cable television is not working. Also the Optimum telephone is not working. The Verizon telephone is still working. The local Greenwich, Connecticut radio is just talking about baseball. I have never had the cable television go down in a long time. I will try calling Optimum on the Verizon telephone line.
10/28/24 Monday 2:05 A.M. The internet is not working.
10/28/24 Monday 1:55 A.M. I heard something moving in the woods, but it was just a big deer. At least it was not a wolf or a coyote.
10/28/24 Monday 1:40 A.M. Dual Booting Windows 10 with Fedora Linux did not work, so I am now restoring the Windows 10 Aomei backup.

10/27/24 Sunday 11:55 P.M. On the Vizio TV mini computer setup, the Vizio TV monitor was not working, because the HDMI cable to the video coupler to the Lenovo ThinkCentre was disconnected. I thus reconnected it, and it works just fine. Then on the bottom ThinkCentre, I did a Hirens Easy BCD low level fomat getting rid of Linux Fedora. I am now restoring the fully configured Windows 10 setup Aomei backup to it which Aomei restore also comes with Hirens Easy BCD. I will then install Linux Fedora as a second partition. I went outside again.

10/27/24 Sunday 7:40 P.M. I went out to www.mcdonalds.com on West Putnam Avenue. I bought two double cheeseburgers and two small French Fries for $8.78 total. I then had a picnic in the Greenwich Common. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I toured the store twice and one of those times, I used the bathroom there. They still have the Vail Ski resort knit hat there for $16.99. They also have regular knit hats in back for $10.99. I then went to the www.chase.com Bank ATM machine on Greenwich Avenue, but it was broken. I then went to the Chase Bank ATM machine at Deerfield Place. I then returned home. I filed this report. I will now go outside and drink an instant coffee.

My friend got a big steak sub sandwich with onion rings for $16. I had just eaten breakfast, so I was not hungry. We then went to Grass Island, and my friend had a picnic. We sat out there for a long time enjoying the view of the Harbor. I used the bathroom there twice at the new pavilion. We then drove down by the pier on Steamboat Road. We then sat out for a while at Bruce Park. We then returned back to my place and drank instant coffee outside, and my friend left. I will now go outside again.

I used the bathroom there. I picked up a prescription. I then went back to the Greenwich Town Hall, and I voted at 10 A.M. I bought from Alibis a bookmark with a Christian cross on it for $5. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought two 6 packs of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.59 each six pack, a six 20 ounce Stop and Shop pineapple chunks for $1.69 each, and a 64 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $4.49 for $17.81 total. I then returned home. I put away my food. I put the grey bag back in the car. I drank an instant coffee outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside again.

Pierce, Beatrice Foods, and Cisco Food, also food from Holdgates Fish Monger or the A&P if it is still there and of course the Mount Vernon Farm and the other Bartlett farm. However, fresh produce from the farms on Nantucket can have sand in it. They are still repaving the sidewalk in front of the Veterans Monument downtown. I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue. I bought a family pack of Kellogg's Special K with red berries and another family pack of Kellogg's Raisin Bran for $3.99 each for $7.98 total. I then bought a quart box of Pepperidge Farm goldfish crackers for $1.49 with $4 bonus bucks coupon from the previous purchase. I then returned home. I put away the food. I went outside, and I drank an instant coffee. I filed this report. I will now go outside again.

10/22/24 Tuesday 5:00 A.M. Even though I could never really afford to travel around the North Country too much in the winter, I have some ski resort connections. Rob Ford that I went to the Taft School and Lake Forest College was once the mayor of Vail, Colorado. A neighbor in Kennebunkport from the Stapleton family in Colorado might know something about Colorado skiing. A Lake Forest College friend who was related to W. Averill Harriman whom started Sun Valley, Idaho ski resort. When I worked for three seasons at the Le Languedoc restaurant way out on www.nantucket.net , the waiters were from the Stowe, Vermont Ski resort ski patrol. A friend locally has a nephew in Crested Butte, Colorado where Tom Watson III's daughter also lives. The Watson family here of www.ibm.com also used to own Smugglers Notch ski resort in Vermont. When I build the garage apartment in Plandome Manor, Long Island for ten months in 1982 and 1983, the main house had a big picture of the Von Trapp family lodge in Austria. The last time, I skied was in the winter of 1972 in Carrera, Italy in two feet of fresh powder. I did once go to all of the merchants on Greenwich Avenue fund raising for the United States Ski Team party at the Greenwich Country Club before the Albertville, France Winter Olympics which I also attended with a friend that still skis. I also once visited Innsbruck, Austria about the winter of 1987. When I drove across country four and a half times between 1978 and 1980, I also drove around a number of ski resorts in the Rocky Mountains. When I lived in Boston, I once visited Stratton, Vermont, and I once visited also in the summer, when I returned to Greenwich from Nantucket. My English teach at Greenwich Country Day School used to ski somewhere in Maine. I think it was the Sugarloaf ski resort. One of the times, I was in Key West, the Swedish Olympic ski team showed up before the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. When I visited Oslo, Norway in February to April 1983, there was a ski jump in downtown Oslo, Norway. At the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut I was on the ski team, where I think we skied Canon Mountain and Mohawk mountain in Connecticut. Also the few people in the North Country can not afford to come down here to the edge of the tropics either. Also when I chatted with Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden on the pier of Steamboat Road, a local fisherman from Whistler, Canada ski resort knew her. I think in the trips across country, I visited Vail briefly and Squaw Valley ski resorts. Also Provincetown and Boston airways in the Summer in Nantucket was also Aspen Airways in the Winter. I was also in Grenoble, France a few times in the Winter of 1972. The world famous Aka Khan also attended the world's most expensive private boys school in Gstad, Switzerland; but it is not there anymore.

I then alternated it with five deli slices of German baloney with 5 deli slices of White American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half. I ate it with a 16 ounce can of B&M baked beans with bacon and onion and a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice. The slices of deli baloney I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap. I will now go outside again.
10/21/24 Monday 10:25 A.M. I went downtown to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue. I toured the store twice. Once I bought a Daisy croissant for $2.14, and I had a picnic in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park across the street. I chatted with a friend on my cell phone. I paid fifty cents for 20 minutes on the parking meter, when I went inside to CVS to use the bathroom. I noticed in the near far right middle aisle they have about eight knit ski resort caps for $16.99 each including one from Vail and a couple from Breckenridge. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a five gallon bottle of Poland Spring water with bottle return for $9.99. I then returned home. I used my little folding hand truck to bring up the 42 pound bottle of water, and I stored it away underneath the teak dining table with two other five gallon bottles of Poland Spring water. I then put the folding hand truck back in the car, and I drank an instant coffee outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside again.

I was able to get it to install as a second partition by first chosing automatic, and when it failed, I rebooted the installation USB key, and I got it to install properly with manual installation on a second partition.

The democrats at www.microsoft.com were never interested in me but thought I might have an IBM connection living in Greenwich which some of my relatives had. The democrats at Apple were never interested in me except for trying to sell over priced equipment at their store on Greenwich Avenue. However, the republicans at www.hp.com like me, but I never got any money from them, although my primary laptop is HP. Linux is worldwide, so one has to have a worldwide viewpoint, which is not very profitable.

I took the Apple Mac Mini from the left living room closet shelf, and I installed it on the Samsung television. It has Catalina OS on it and is configured the same way the other Mac Minis are.

I used to see both of Trump's yachts and the smaller one the Ivana was frequently moored at the Showboat Hotel, and it was from Georgetown in the Cayman Islands I guess for tax purposes. I did spend a lot of time over the years on the pier on Steamboat Road over the years even when I moved away. I had two classmates at the Greenwich Country Day school whose fathers were also the head commodores at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club in the neighborhood and another classmate at Greenwich Country Day who used to be the manager of the Indian Harbor Yacht Club. Thus I am an experienced "Wharf Rat." Also a relative of a relative also lived on Steamboat Road for a while.

I reset the bios video memory to the max from the minimum, so it might work now. When I tried it last night the video was blinking, so possibly it did not have enough on board memory. I will now try it out on the beta machine on the Vizio TV mini computer setup. Be a Microsoft Windows 12 beta tester in many different languages. I did this one can try this an created a Windows 11 beta Rufus for older machines with this method by downloading the latest Windows Developer 11 beta 27718 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewiso?rfs=1 , and I used this procedure for Windows 11 on an older PC, Windows 11 Rufus installed from USB Pen Drive I made a Windows 11 Rufus USB pen drive with this method this https://rufus.ie/en/ to created a Windows 11 bootable USB pen drive for it to upgrade https://www.elevenforum.com/t/create-bootable-windows-11-iso-without-tpm-secure-boot-and-ram-requirements.1891/ I formatted the over 8 GB USB pen drive in NTFS, and I set Rufus to "MBR" selected and the second and third advanced options selected, also select options no TPM/no Secure boot. The different language versions of the Windows 11 *.iso download are here https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11 thus for example if one wanted Windows 11 Professional in French download the *.iso file and make the Windows 11 Rufus USB pen drive the same way. I then alternated it with six deli slices of ham with 6 deli slices of White American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half. I ate it with a 15 ounce can of sweet peas with Smart Balance spread and a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice. The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap. I will now go outside again.

I bought a five gallon bottle of Poland Spring water with bottle return for $9.99, a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.59, two 4 packs of Chaboni plain yogurt for $3.99 a four pack, a 64 ounce bottle of Silk vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $5.89, a 30 ounce Simply Orange grapefruit juice for $5.39, two 64 ounce diet Ocean Spray cranberry juice for $3.69 each, and a package of deli sliced white American cheese for $5.99 a pound for $6.08 for $44.30 total. I then returned home. I brought up the food first, and I put it away, and then I put the grey bag back in the car. I then used my little folding hand truck to bring up the 42 pound bottle of water. 10/11/24 Friday 4:05 A.M. I worked with the Apple Mac Mini with Catalina on the Vizio TV mini computer setup. It all seems to be working just fine. On my various mini computers, I just setup the OS on them. I never had much time to learn the various programs except the basic programs. It all takes a bit of time for Midnight Mike. I started wearing my new fall jacket with this color http://mikelouisscott.com/mlsdc.jpg . The one in the picture, I gave to a friend who lives near D.C. I also have a new one in red too. I have lots of winter coats for when it gets colder. However, I donated my two snow suits since I had not worn them in many years, and they are difficult to go to the bathroom with them on. Once it gets colder like this evening, it takes a couple of weeks at night to get use to it, but after that I hope to survive another winter going out regularly at night. I also have snow boots, but recently we have not had too much snow in the last few years.

Since Wallace Simpson and Billy Baldwin were from Maryland living around the Dupont family that is probably how they knew each other. Both the Duke of Windsor and Billy Baldwin were five foot three inches tall, so a lot of their entourage might have been that high unlike some of the giants today.

Greenwich, Connecticut used to have an Anglophile presence in the old days. However, with all of the new people from around the world here, I guess they do not care too much about our quaint town's history.

I moved the dark oak end table from in front of the mahogany bureau in the bedroom to between the two bent pine chairs in the bedroom.

10/08/24 Tuesday 11:00 P.M. I watched off Netflix series 4 episode 19 of, "Vikings." I went outside midway through, and I drank an instant coffee. On Vikings when I visited Oslo, Norway in February 1983, when my S.A.S. jet was supposed to be going to Stockholm, Sweden; but landed at a military airport near Oslo, I saw a bit of Oslo instead. The second day, they had six feet of snow, and I went to the Cats discothčque, and they had all of the pictures of the horses descended from the Norwegian race horse, "Noble Dancer." In the period I was there, I was not able to eat very much but corn flakes with milk and Swedish wasa crisps. I did attend a concert in the, "Peace Hall." Having visited Oslo, Norway; I learned a bit of their perspective in the far North country which not many people seem to be aware of. On the way back to New York City, I did change jets in the Copenhagen, Denmark airport, but I never left that airport. At J.F.K. airport back in New York City, I spent a week homeless at Easter Time seeing a lot of traveling religious people from around the World. I then flew from LaGuardia airport back to www.nantucket.net about the time the Mianus Bridge fell down in Greenwich. In the fall of October 1983, I drove down to Vero Beach, Florida with a relative, and then on my own to Fort Lauderdale, Florida during the Grenada Invasion, and then to the Tampa area to visit my father and then back to Vero Beach, and I flew back to Nantucket, until around Thanksgiving time, when I flew from Hyannis to LaGuardia and took the Amtrak to Toronto for a week or two, and then back down to Manhattan, when I was twice homeless for a week, and I finally received a small apartment at 100 Milbank Avenue in Greenwich from the department of Social Services around December 13, 1983. Thus after a complete physical in the Greenwich Hospital, they determined I was legally disabled, and my days of wandering around ended except for trips to Kennebunkport and a half dozen other places. There is no point in traveling on low income hoping to find a better life, which never leads to anything better.

10/05/24 Saturday 7:40 P.M. The Apple Mac Mini with Catalina is all setup on the desk. The new headset works just fine. I moved one of the two web cams from the Vizio Mini computer stack to it. I also have it connected to the Brother All Purpose laser machine. I went outside, and I drank an instant coffee. I will now fix and eat a 15 ounce Marie Callender chicken pot pie with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice.

I bought Skullcandy Riff Stereo Headphones, Black (S5PXY-L003) | Staples for $21.99 and Logitech Combo MK270 Wireless Keyboard & Mouse, Black (920-004536) | Staples $22.99 and $2.86 tax for $47.84 total. I then returned home. The check engine light came on, so I used my device to remove the check engine light. I will setup one of the Apple Mac Minis from the Vizio mini computer stack on the desk.

10/04/24 Friday 11:00 P.M. I moved the Amazon Cube setup from the living room Samsung television to the bedroom LG television setup. From the living room desk, I moved the Lenovo ThinkCentre Windows 10 setup to the Samsung television. It works just fine. On the Vizio TV mini computer stack, I moved the Lenovo ThinkCentre Windows 12 beta Canary to the top of the stack, and I connected it up for beta testing ditching Linux.

I used the bathroom at the Senior and the Arts Center. I went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I paid 75 cents in quarters to park until 5 P.M. At CVS, I got my first tetanus shot in over twenty years. A second time, I used the bathroom there. I sat out in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park for a long time. I chatted with a friend on my cell phone. I went to the Stop and Shop, and from the clearance section I bought a four pack of croissants for $2.99, ten 15 ounce cans of corn for .89 a can, and a 12 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $16.99 for $28.88 total. I then returned home. I put the food away. I put the grey bag back in the car. I drank an instant coffee outside. I picked up the mail. The order with tracking of Track Package (amazon.com) for Amazon.com: Amazon Basic Care Extra Strength Pain Relief, Acetaminophen Caplets, 500 mg, 1000 Count (Packaging may vary) : Health & Household for $13.67 total arrived. I then alternated it with six deli slices of ham with 6 deli slices of White American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half. I ate it with a 15 ounce can of corn and onion and a 12 ounce glass www.coke.com Zero Sugar. The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap. I ordered three Amazon.com : Del Monte Canned Sweet Peas, 15 oz Can : Grocery & Gourmet Food for $15.84 off my State of Connecticut EBT Food Stamps card.

While there I used the bathroom, and I bought a 42 ounce Smart Balance spread for $9.79 total. They have lots of five gallon bottles of Primo filtered water. I then returned home. I sat outside. I put the Smart Balance spread in the refrigerator. I filed this report. I will now go outside and drink an instant coffee.

10/03/24 Thursday 6:00 P.M. After the last note, I went downtown to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue. I paid $3 in quarters to park for two hours. I spent most of my time in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park across the street. I chatted with a friend on my cell phone. I toured CVS twice, and one of those times I picked up a prescription and used the bathroom twice. I also got a roll of quarters for $10 cash. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought two 13 ounce Marie Callender chicken fettuccini meals for $3.99 each, two four packs of Chaboni cherry yogurt for $3.50 a four pack, a 64 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $4.49 and a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.59 for $21.06 total. I returned an empty Poland Spring five gallon bottle for a coupon, but they do not have any five gallon bottles of water. I then returned home. I put away the food. I put the grey bag back in the car. I drank an instant coffee outside. I did not get any mail. I filed this report. I will now go outside again.

10/03/24 Thursday 11:55 A.M. Out on www.nantucket.net , I usually did not have a car, so I walked a lot. I did have the 1966 Chevrolet Biscayne for a week in the summer of 1976, but I gave it away to the Nantucket Hospital Thrift shop in the spring of 1977, when I returned back to Nantucket from Key West. Nantucket is so small, that if one has a car, one soon runs out of places to go.

When I was at www.lakeforst.edu college from 1968 to 1972, beside making regular flights between Chicago and Boston, one could fly anywhere in the country for $50, so I once flew to Detroit and another time to Tulsa and another time to Colorado Springs, where I toured the Air Force Academy. I also once too a Grey Hound bus round trip from Boston to Toronto. I did drive a number of time between Lake Forest, Illinois and Boston. When I drove a taxi cab in Lake Forest at night for a year and a half, I was always driving passengers to O'Hare Airport near Chicago. The last summer in 1972, I also road with a friend to a Can Am raise in Minnesota and another time the Thousand Islands near Saute St. Marie. I also drove from Oak Brook, Illinois to Jacksonville, Florida. Road trips used to be fun.

10/02/24 Wednesday 7:05 P.M. The new Lenovo mini ThinkCentre has the bios protected with a password which I do not have, so I emailed the seller for the password. I was able to boot Hirens Easy BCD and do a low level format on it. I then installed Linux Dabian First and then Linux Modicia, and they both startup. I still have to configure them. I tried resetting the password by removing the CMOS battery for fifteen minutes and reflashing the bios to no avail. However, in the current setup the USB flash drive boots before the SSD drive, so I am able to boot from a USB pen drive.

The order with tracking of USPS.com® - USPS Tracking® Results on the order for Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p Tiny i5-4570T 2.90GHz 8GB Ram 128GB SSD Windows 10 AC | eBay for $55.30 total arrived. I set it up on the mini computer stack on the Vizio television setup. I am first doing a Windows 10 Complete PC backup to an external hard drive to save the OS that came with it. I will then do a low level format and work with Linux as described below.

Well, one can install Linux Mint along side Ubuntu, which I have done before or vica versa.

10/01/24 Tuesday 8:35 A.M. Although complicated, the reason working with home computers and two web sites is easier for me is that I have been doing it September 1989 which is about 35 years. It actually is a bit easier today than the earlier days when things were a lot more complicated. When I tried running a server out of my apartment I would sometimes get hacked over a half dozen times a day, so I became expert at restoring backups of new installs or doing new installs of free betas which are free.

!!!!!! 10/01/24 Tuesday 6:40 A.M. I was able to get Linux to install on the ThinkCentre by doing a 2% low level format with the Hirens Easy BCD USB pen drive, and then it installed normally. Either I had a virus or Linux put something on the hard drive that is hard to get rid of. A quick low level format does not work.
I went outside twice.
10/01/24 Tuesday 5:30 A.M. I am still trying to install Linux by installing it on a different type of partition. I have tried about everything. The first time I installed it this past afternoon, it installed without any problems. I will keep trying, and if it does not install, I will install the Windows 12 beta Canary installation again. On this particular Think Centre I have had problems with Linux in the past, but on the other two Think Centres it worked fine, so I can try it on the fourth Think Centre when it arrives this Wednesday. It is the Think Centre with the yellow AC plug in that Linux works on.

I guess on that computer, one can not install Linux for Linux. Linux installs a hidden partition that one has to do a low level format to get rid of. Also this time to get it to work on my older computer, I am not installing a Swap file like I did the first time this past afternoon.
