They had more available for a short period, but they are out of them again.
I guess in making the new stuff, they forgot there are plenty of people content
with the older equipment that works just fine. It is a good motherboard
for a server, since it has BIOS protection in the CMOS. I went
through my email. I guess everyone I know is out partying on
New Year's Eve, because nobody was around to chat with. I guess the
9 to 5 crowd like to party on their day's off. Alas I guess tomorrow
evening, we will hear them returning also from their southern trips for work day
on Tuesday. However, I think because of President Ford's funeral,
the New York Stock exchange will be closed on Tuesday, and possibly the banks,
so maybe the work a day crowd will not return until Tuesday night for work on
Wednesday. I will now send out my weekly notes. CIO

12/31/06 Sunday
9:55 P.M.: I was awake at 9 A.M. this
morning.
I ate breakfast of
oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a 50% mixture of orange juice with a
50% mixture of grape juice with a teaspoon of Certo with vitamins and
supplements, and coffee. I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.
I chatted with a relative. I went back to bed until 2 P.M.. I
made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes. I showered, and I
cleaned up. I threw out some garbage. I said hello to a
neighbor. I went downtown, and I bought $13.50 or premium unleaded
gasoline at the Greenwich Automotive Exxon Service station next to the Greenwich
Library for $2.939 a gallon for 72.1 miles driving in the last 10 days at an
average of 16 miles per gallon driving an average of 17 miles per hour around
town except for the trip to Circuit City in Norwalk, Connecticut. I
then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and
the train station area. I sat out at various locations. I
stopped by the Greenwich Hardware store which no longer has the 70% off rack,
and I bought a package of three 30 pound OOK hooks made in Germany for $2.99 and
.18 tax for $3.17 total. I stopped by CVS, and I bought for 75% off
three boxes of merry brite 18 Christmas cards each box with envelopes for $1.99
each box less a $1.50 off bonus bucks coupon and .27 tax for $4.74 total.
They also have a few Hallmark Christmas cards on sale for 50% off. I
completed my walk, and I sat out for a while. I then drove down by
the waterfront. I then returned home. I microwaved and ate a
21 ounce Stouffer's lasagna with meat sauce, which I put a few tablespoons of
grated parmesan cheese on, and I ate with a glass of iced tea. I
printed out two copies of various Microsoft Money 2006 reports for the last
month by category, year by category, and year by total, and last 15 years by
categories and also another for the last 15 years by years and categories and
one for the last 15 years by totals by category. I put four stamps
on a manila envelope, and I have the report ready to mail to a relative who
takes a keen interest in my finances. I am not good at analyzing
reports, I just enter the data and print them out. I chatted with a
friend who use to look like me before I got heavier, and I told him that since I
once worked in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and that since I happen to look a
little bit like John Harvard
www.harvard.edu
as I get older, that if any aspiring students in this area happen to want to go
to Harvard, but if they do not happen to like people with my particular look,
they might find one or two other people up that way with my look. My
friend's father used to be on the Harvard Board of Overseers. CIO

12/30/06 Saturday
9:15 P.M.: I made and ate a batch of
Michael Louis Scott's Pork and Beans
with franks . I used two low fat Ball Park franks and a 16 ounce
can of B&M baked beans along with the other ingredients. I also used
up the rest of the stuffing. I had to microwave both items together
on four vegetable cycles of the General Electric microwave oven. I
ate it all with a glass of iced tea. I will now go through my email.

7:55 P.M.: I went outside, and I
moved the tropical plant from my neighbor's patio to the far end of the
community room, so it will be warmer. There are other people's
plants in the community room. There are a couple of small holes in
the paper mache urn that might leak a little bit of water, when watered, but
from what I know about the plant, it should recover. There is a tag
in the plant saying it is a pink orchid, but I do not think it looks like an
orchid. I use to have one like it in my apartment many moons ago.
I left a note outside my neighbor's door along with a copy of my
Michael Louis Scott's Christmas 2006 Card and
http://www.geocities.com/mike2scott20062/xmasletter2006geo.htm .
My neighbor's whose husband passed away recently worked in the Greenwich Library
many years, and her husband from Atlanta, Georgia who passed away recently was a
distinguished member of the United States Army 82nd Airborne, if you get my
drift. However, the 82nd Airborne is not much good without nylon
parachutes from the nylon factory in Pensacola, Florida, if you get my drift.

Thus if we lose our electric heat in this building or if for some reason we need

I think Dwight Eisenhower's grandson in law that his grand daughter married is
suppose to be a Russian General, so more than likely he has some other contacts
as well. Remember, I found the spare solenoid fork part for the starter
motor on my old 1971 yellow Subaru station wagon at a Buick Subaru dealership in
Abilene, Kansas, and by the time I got it installed the museum was closed, so I
never go to figure out what it was all about. I remember the young

back in 1978 or 1979 or whenever it was. CIO

3:55 P.M.: I woke up at 11 A.M. this
morning. I chatted with a relative. I went out, and I
picked up my mail. I chatted with a British neighbor.
Apparently we have had people stealing our newspapers in the building.
Also I noticed on the side entrance somebody had dumped one of the tropical
plants out of its pot and on the ground and thrown the pot down the steps at the
baseball field. I put it back in its pot by the far east entrance.
I am not sure what tropical plants are doing out at this time of year, but it
seems to be surviving. I have not cleaned up since Thursday, and I
went out without cleaning up, and I went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on
Mason Street. There were only about a dozen cars coming and going in
the area at 12:30 P.M., so not much is moving in this area. I guess
people are staying home to save on energy. I then returned directly
home.
I chatted with one friend, and I left messages with some other friends.
I guess, since I have been out once today, I should stay home and do some work
on the computer. The Panasonic handset works just fine in the
kitchen. I think someone could make money by buying oil from
Venezuela and refining it at the Hess refinery in St. Croix, and seeing if there
is any market for it up here at a lower price than Arab oil. I have
a better chance of learning Spanish than speaking Arabic. You have
to remember all that we seem to know around here comes out of the
www.nytimes.com . Back in 1972, the
New York Times paid reporters starting out $75 a week, so they did not really
know that much.
www.cbs.com paid me $85 a
week back then to be a clerk typist, and all that I could tell was that the New
York Times sold out at the CBS newsstand at the broadcast center on West 57th
street by 7 A.M., so CBS hired people whom could read the New York Times.
As Walter Cronkite once said the evening broadcast of the CBS evening news is
only 2.5 columns of the New York Times. Thus since I read more
information than that, I sometimes know a little bit more based on experience.
For all I know Sadam Hussein of Iraq could of bought his way out of Irag and be
hiding in one of those obscure places in Russia, since the biggest backer of his
dictatorship in Iraq was Russia. I know he had a lot of doubles, so
even a picture might not tell the truth. For all I know even Adolph Hitler
lived in Russia after World War II. Frequently the exiled heads of
state are held by Russia to find out what they really knew about what was going
on and what their networks of contacts were. It is really hard to
tell, once one starts dealing with Russia, since it is such a large country with
restricted movements of its local population, I am not even sure their leaders
know what is going on. Traditionally the Russians never trusted the
central government, so possibly even one of their experts would not know the
real truth. Who Knows? CIO

2:30 A.M.: I chatted down there at the
southern most part of the United States, and they still seem to speak English
down there, but they do not tell me much about what is happening down there.
Maybe that is why they used to call it the "Silent Service" . It is my
viewpoint from what I have read these recent years in the media that the United
States of America is so weak military wise that we could be invaded.
However, we have friendly neighbors to the north and south and oceans on either
side. Thus to invade us, it would take a country with a large naval
force. There is only one country in the world with a large enough
navy and that would be Russia, so more than likely some time in the future, they
will invade us. Of course so many of us are stuck at home most of the time
anymore, I do not think most of us will even notice as long as the essential
services are maintained most of the time. That seems to usually
involve paying one's bills at the first of the month, which I have done except
my rent, which I will pay when I receive the bill. I will now go

10:55 P.M.: After the last note, I found
this item
Buy the Panasonic 5.8GHz Handset (KXTGA670B) and other Cordless Phone Handsets
at circuitcity.com listed at $71.99, so I printed out the page, and I
went out without cleaning up, and I drove up to CircuityCity in Norwalk,
Connecticut, also to give the car a little high speed driving activity on the
highway. I bought it for $71.99 and $4.32 tax for $76.31 total.
At the store it was listed as being $84.99, but when I showed them the page that
I brought with me, they gave me the lower price. I could have
ordered it from site in Chicago, Illinois without tax and free shipping for $69,
but I would have had to wait for it for a while, and I figured since I live in
Connecticut Public Housing, it does not hurt to pay a little tax in Connecticut.
Also it was good for the car to get a little high speed activity, which it does
not get very much anymore. I then stopped by Staples in Old
Greenwich, and they sell the same phone for $79.99 all of the time plus tax.
It only works with the Panasonic 5.8 GHz KX-TG6700B phone base unit that I have
on the brass and glass coffee table. At Staples, I bought the last
2007 horse calendar for $9.99 and .60 tax for $10.59 total. I then
went by the ATM at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I
then sat out briefly downtown. I then drove down by the waterfront.
I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought Chiquita bananas at .54 a pound
for $1.24. I then returned home. I installed the Panasonic
handset in the kitchen on lower right side of the book shelf, so it is easily
used by the
www.harvard.edu chair in the
kitchen, particularly when one might be sitting there having a cigarette.
A headset is available for it from
www.panasonic.com . Since it is wireless to the base unit, it
does not need to be connected up by telephone cords. I have its
power transformer plugged into the extension cord on the small oak table.
It takes seven hours to charge up, so it should be fully charged up by 5 A.M..
One can use it after 15 minutes. I need to sync it with the base unit, and
one can automatically transfer the directory from the base unit to it also,
which I will do shortly. I will put the new 2007 horse calendar on the
right living room closet door when the 2006 calendar is, once it is New Years.

1:10 A.M.: I chatted with the
Key West Hotel Resorts & Florida Keys
Beach Accommodations - Casa Marina Resort Key West , and I told them I saw
on the Bloomberg business today the Blackstone group is involved with the Kravis
group, so more than likely they have enough economic capital to survive.
They told me they had moved St. Margaret's Episcopal church on Reynolds Avenue
from across the street from the hotel to another location. I have a
feeling that since the Episcopal Church in New York City is the fourth largest
land owner after the City of New York, the State of New York, and the U.S.A.
Federal government, more than likely that hotel might be actually owned by the
Episcopal Church in some sort of obscure trust, but it could be owned by another
branch of it such as an Anglican Church from another country or commonwealth
involved with England. Since nobody ever explains all of the
details, it is hard to sort out. I do know that Key West is a 400
year old town, so more than likely some of the old guard if they are still
around would know more of the more obscure details. Since it was
once part of the railroad, it still could be owned by the Florida East Coast
railroad or whatever group of people now own it. It is like an
insurance company in Ohio, now owns Grand Central Station the last time I
researched that, and it is just on a hundred year lease to the MTA.
From what I can tell, more than likely a lot of people like the simplicity of
the Florida Keys compared to the busier activity of Southern Florida, and after
the daily traffic disappears off the Florida Keys bridges, it is actually quite
peaceful down there. Of course some sort of group might sneak ashore
and kidnap any stray tourists into other less hospitable surroundings, so it is
best to stay on one's guard down there. I explained on the volcano front
if either or both of the two volcanoes erupted in Russia, it could make for what
one would call a "Nuclear Winter" which means it would be much colder up north.
Since at this point in the planet, there are about a billion people further
north of me, more than likely it would get busier in the warmer more populated
areas of the planet. I will now go through my email. CIO

did last night at a price slightly higher than I can afford on my budget.
The Norton Internet Security 2007 and the KX-TGA670B will probably be my only
major purchases this January 2007, since I have regular bills and other
expenses. I should buy a gallon of antifreeze to keep in the
back of the car too. We have had a warmer winter so far, but one
still has to be prepared for colder weather when it arrives. I have
the British Union Jack hanging in front of the right hallway bookcase with the
U.S.A. and the Scottish Cross of St. Andrews underneath it, but if one turns on
the DeLonghi oil filled radiator along side of it on a colder day, one would
have to move it out, so it would not melt the nylon flags. As
I get older, I am not sure I am going to be able to keep track of all of the
thousands of details involved in running my apartment with its rather complex
communications and computer setup not to mention the expense. CIO

However, I have not paid for it, so I will not be buying it until I know what
happens with the auction, no matter what, although it is $55.05 with shipping at
the current bid price without warranty or $13.95 cheaper than this one for $69
with free shipping new from an authorized Panasonic dealer, however the seller
offers 3 year warranty protection from
SquareTrade Warranty

bid with about $8 warranty would be $5.95 cheaper than this one new with

I then went to my usual 3 P.M. appointment. I then returned home.
I put one my blue pair of draw string leisure pants with one of the Queen Mary

I received the Norton Internet Security 2007 OEM disk, and I made a copy of it

it said was already installed on my computer which it is not. Then I
went through a trouble shooting problem report with an automatic tool from
www.symantec.com that came up. If
for some reason the final version will not install, I have a backup copy of the
system without Nero 7 Essentials from when I had the Norton beta installed that
I could try to install over. Also for some reason the two new
generic ink cartridges in the Lexmark X1185 all purpose printer, scanner, copier
that I put in recently and have not been used do not work, and only a little bit
of black prints and some red. I will have to look in to returning the
defective color and two defective back cartridges back to the supplier in
California when I have time to get an RMA for them. CIO

Ford state funeral plans revealed . I recall when I was around
the Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the fall of 1976 when
the King of Norway was visiting there after the Tall Ships in New York harbor
that previous summer, there was a large picture of Gerald Ford at the entrance
to the Swimming Hall of Fame, so I guess he was a good swimmer too.
I also recall that Gerald Ford was made a lifetime member of the Greenwich
Country Club
http://www.geocities.com/mike2scott2006/Greenwich-Country-Club.jpg after he
was president as was General Westmoreland, and the last time I played golf at
the Greenwich Country Club was with Skip Waltz who was a personal friend of
Gerald Ford and the head of the greens committee, and Skip had taught crew while
Ford was at Yale. I recall Skip who had been Chief of Security for Norton
Simon also retired to Rancho Mirage, California. I think Norton Simon
owned Canada Dry beverages back then, and Roger Hall our next door neighbor was
the head beverage chemist at Canada Dry's research facility over on Old Track
road off Railroad Avenue where Connecticut Natural gas is now located. I
recall once or twice driving through Palm Springs on my way back east, and since
I did not know my way around I just bought gasoline at the Shell gasoline
station, and I bought some dates at a farm stand. I recall the Shah
of Iran's mother also lived in Palm Springs, California. As I recall
it was rather cool there when I drove though during the evening. It
has nice views of the mountains to the west. I was once near Beaver Creek,
Colorado, when I found some Continental snow tires with tread at a Sears tire
dump during a blizzard for my 1971 Subaru wagon which I had bought in Nantucket,
and it had a sticker from Dillon, Colorado. They got me over Eisenhower
Pass in the Blizzard, and I recall I still had them on the car when I drove back

refinery with the bid dinosaur in front of it. I have a 3 P.M. appointment

news. I made and ate the same dinner as last night. I

email the two Russian volcanoes are on red alert, but they have not updated
their web site with the same report yet at
Global Volcanism
Program | Volcanic Activity Reports | Bulletin of the Global Volcanism Network
. Follow is a text of the two reports.
New Activity/Unrest
BEZYMIANNY Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia 55.98°N, 160.59°E; summit elev.
2,882

The level of Concern Color Code for Bezymianny was raised from Yellow to
Orange on 24 December due to an increase in incandescent avalanches, seismicity,
and the intensity of a thermal anomaly at the summit. Within a few hours, a
series of ash explosions and "ash avalanches" produced plumes that rose to
altitudes of 6-10 km (19,700-32,800 ft) a.s.l. and drifted NE. The level of
Concern Color Code was raised to Red. On 25 December, KVERT reported that
seismic activity returned to background levels and explosive activity ceased.
The level of Concern Color Code was returned to Orange.
Geologic Summary. Prior to its noted 1955-56 eruption, Bezymianny volcano
had been considered extinct. The modern Bezymianny volcano, much smaller in size
than its massive neighbors Kamen and Kliuchevskoi, was formed about 4700 years
ago over a late-Pleistocene lava-dome complex and an ancestral volcano that was
built between about 11,000-7000 years ago. Three periods of intensified activity
have occurred during the past 3000 years. The latest period, which was preceded
by a 1,000-year quiescence, began with the dramatic 1955-56 eruption.
This eruption, similar to that of Mount St. Helens in 1980, produced a
large horseshoe-shaped crater that was formed by collapse of the summit and an
associated lateral blast. Subsequent episodic but ongoing lava-dome growth,
accompanied by intermittent explosive activity and pyroclastic flows, has
largely filled the 1956 crater.

SHIVELUCH Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia 56.653°N, 161.360°E; summit elev.
3,283 m
According to observations, video data, and satellite imagery KVERT
reported that ash plumes from Shiveluch rose to 10 km (32,800 ft) a.s.l. and
drifted E on 16-17 and 20 December. Seismic activity was generally at background
levels.
Based on satellite imagery, the Tokyo VAAC reported that a possible
eruption plume rose to an altitude of 9.1 km (30,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifted E on
24 December. Seismic and video data on 26 December indicated an ash plume above
10 km (32,800 ft.) a.s.l., extending 150 km NE in satellite imagery. The level
of Concern Color Code was raised from Orange to Red <
http://www.avo.alaska.edu/color_codes.php>.
Geologic Summary. The high, isolated massif of Shiveluch volcano (also
spelled
Sheveluch) rises above the lowlands NNE of the Kliuchevskaya volcano group
and forms one of Kamchatka's largest and most active volcanoes. The currently
active Molodoy Shiveluch lava-dome complex was constructed during the Holocene
within a large horseshoe-shaped caldera formed by collapse of the massive late-
Pleistocene Strary Shiveluch volcano. At least 60 large eruptions of Shiveluch
have occurred during the Holocene, making it the most vigorous andesitic volcano
of the Kuril-Kamchatka arc. Frequent collapses of lava-dome complexes, most
recently in 1964, have produced large debris avalanches whose deposits cover
much of the floor of the breached caldera. During the 1990s, intermittent
explosive eruptions took place from a new lava dome that began growing in 1980.
The largest historical eruptions from Shiveluch occurred in 1854 and 1964.

6:15 P.M.: I chatted with a relative, and I
left a message with a friend. I was thinking with the clementine
crates from Spain, they have thin sides of wood similar to balsa wood, so
possibly one could make balsa wood toy airplanes out of them. I am
listening to the Bloomberg business report on the server monitor, and Virgin
America to get into business needs to have a 75% ownership of by a U.S. citizen.
Since I am not doing anything they could set me up in a dummy corporation as 75%
owner of Virgin America, and I would not abuse my flight privileges by going
anywhere, since I do not travel very much. The person that I knew in
Key West, Florida that looked like me or George Cary or Charlie Cary, if it were
not Tony Blair, it could have been Richard Branson, since in Fort Lauderdale,
there were a lot of TWA airline personnel and in Key West, Florida there were a
lot of Pan Am personnel. I do recall the fellow said he was from
South Carolina, and since my 1966 Chevrolet Biscayne 4 door blue sedan was in
the pound in Fort Lauderdale for not paying parking tickets at the Swimming Hall
of Fame during the period I was in Key West in the winter of 1977, possibly some
of the English crew members off the Queen Elizabeth II cruise ship that made
port back then in at Port Everglades saw me in Fort Lauderdale with the South
Carolina license plates on my car, and went down to Key West pretending to be
me, when I tended to be more obscure in my movements in terms of the local
people. Just like there is a blind English person here in Greenwich,
Connecticut that looks like me. We all have people whom look similar

5:00 P.M.: I remailed a Christmas card to
someone that it was returned from. Possibly they do not think
Riverside, Connecticut is part of Greenwich, Connecticut. I chatted
with some neighbors. All I can figure out is from what lots of
people know. The legend of Ponce De Leon and the fountain of youth as it
developed in Florida is possibly from the high amounts of Coral Calcium in the
local well water in some places like the Florida Keys, and also the sea weed
that washes ashore is suppose to be highly prized by the Japanese who know about
Coral Calcium in terms of its life giving properties. Also
http://mikelouisscott.com/fred.htm
and the Kennedy's interest in Tahiti would also be involved with Coral Calcium.
Of course there is probably a lot of Coral Calcium in the Bahamas which why the
Duke of Windsor was interested in it. What ever the case, I have a couple
of pieces of coral in my bathroom that I bought at the ELDC thrift shop many
years ago. One is regular coral and the other is blue coral. I guess
I could test it out by grinding it up with a motar and pestle to see if it is
healthy for one. Of course other island groups of coral origin would
probably have coral calcium as opposed to volcanic islands. However,
the common product sand tends to get washed around the world by the ocean
currents, so more than likely some of our local beach sand would have coral
calcium in it if one could figure out how to separate it from the other mineral
deposits in it. However if one lived around some tropical areas with
coral calcium, the animals such as gators also live longer, so possibly one
might have problems with the other elements of the local nature along with
tropical weather patterns. Of course digesting large amounts of
calcium might also give one kidney stones which one might not want to get.
Of course water with coral calcium and other minerals might be healthier for
one, and as I recall Ernest Hemingway's house in Key West had well water as did
the Key West, Florida police station. Of course if one were British
you could probably also find well water with coral calcium in the Bahamas.
I will now go through my email. CIO

11:45 P.M.: As I recall in April
1978, I hiked the Appalachian trial with a friend for three to four days from
Ashville, North Carolina through the Pisgah National Forest part of which was
marked as being owned by Champion paper, and there were frequent warning signs
for bears which tended to make me a bit nervous, so we did not keep our dried
food in the tent at night, but I recall hanging it in a tree. About
the third or fourth day, it snowed, and we left the trail for a hiker's retreat
shelter run by a church group in a mountain town in North Carolina, and once the
snow cleared we hitch hiked down to Hilton Head, South Carolina where we camped
on the beach with possibly a 14 foot long alligator, and then we hitch hiked to
Beaufort, South Carolina, where we camped out on Huntington Island, South
Carolina, and that early Sunday morning, there were 2,000 marines having a beach
party on the beach. I think we then hitch hiked back down to Key
West, Florida, and we got a ride with someone that looked like Jimmy Buffett
that drove us all the way through to Key West, Florida. On the return trip
north in a couple of weeks, we hitch hiked north as far a the barrier island in
Vero Beach, Florida, and we camped out by the Sebastian bridge near where I
think the current Disney resort is. I think I filed my last
unemployment claim in Vero Beach, Florida in May 1978, and then we hitch hiked
north fairly quickly to Washington D.C., where we caught the Amtrak train to
Stamford, Connecticut, and there we visited with my relative who was then living
across the street in Putnam Green, and then we returned to Nantucket, where I
went back to work at the Languedoc restaurant and possibly first at India House.
We stayed at Flossie's at 31 India Street on Nantucket. Thus from
what I can recall, not much happens in between Greenwich, Nantucket, and Key
West, but a lot of people traveling to other places. CIO

6:00 P.M.: I went outside, and I
threw out some garbage. I picked up mail. I put 1.5 cups
of baby carrots and broccoli spears in a Revere pot with an inch of water and a
steamer tray and lid, and I steamed it on medium high electric burner heat for
15 minutes. On a microwave proof dinner plate, I put about 1.5 cups
of stuffing, about 1/2 of the remaining Near East wild rice and rice pilaf
mixture, and two large 3/8th inch thick slices of turkey with about 1/5th of a
cup of the Heinz fat free turkey gravy with mushrooms on the sliced turkey, and
I put a microwave lid on the plate, and I microwaved it for 1.5 vegetable
cycles. I then put the hot plate on a regular dinner plate.
I put half of the remaining cranberry mixture in a bowl, and I ate it all with a
glass of iced tea. CIO

4:20 P.M.: I chatted with a relative again.
Possibly the confusion with me in the high tech volunteer business is that I
look like my friend George Cary who is a race horse investigator for NYRA.
However, George looks like his older brother Charlie who is a high tech lawyer
out on the west coast, so possibly I might still look like Charlie, but I am not
a lawyer who went to Harvard. Also my Microsoft Money index
portfolio is posted on my computer, so possibly someone actually still thinks I
own it as opposed to tracking it. I ordered Norton Internet Security

$27.99 less .31 preferred account discount, less $2.99 discount for preferred

$32.67 total. It is eligible for free Norton Internet Security 2007 for
Vista update, once Norton Internet Security 2007 for Vista is released, so I
will have the license to install it once it is available for download, which I
think is about the first week of January 2007 or by the time Vista is release at
the end of January 2007. CIO

4:50 A.M.: I had a problem
uninstalling Norton Internet Security 2007 for Vista beta. It would
uninstall, but when I rebooted the network was crippled. I tried
fixing it to no avail. I restored my Vista Complete PC backup a
couple of times trying to restore it. Finally on the third restore,
I did a System Restore Backup first. I then uninstalled Norton
Internet Security 2007 for Vista beta. I then rebooted, and then I
did a System Restore restore. I was then able to get the networking
working online by enabling the Vista firewall and repairing the network
connections from the network properties and a few other tweaks. Two
of the LAN connections go online, but the third motherboard LAN connection does
not go online. Still it is good enough to be online. After
doing the System Restore restore, I had to run "msconfig" and unselect the
Symantec startup options, and I had to uninstall the Norton Update program.
I had to delete the Symantec files from the "Program Files\Common Files\Symantec
Shared\" folder. I restored a few changes from after the backup
yesterday. I basically have the primary computer with Vista running
fine again. I went through my email. I will now do a
Vista Complete PC backup of the primary computer from the first hard drive to
the second hard drive. I ate a piece of pumpkin pie with a scoop of
sugar free butter pecan ice cream on it. I ate 1/4th of a 16 ounce jar of
Planter's lightly salted dry roasted peanuts. I went through my
email. I also moved the wireless mouse remote from the primary
computer to the server, so it can be used with the internet on the Sony
television. CIO

I tried the Swivel Sweeper cleaning up the crumbs in the kitchen and the
apartment entrance area. I left it behind the apartment entrance
door. The charging unit is by the kitchen wall outlet. I
uninstalled Norton Internet Security 7 for Vista beta which expires tomorrow,
and I enabled the Vista firewall. I plugged in the Pinnacle Capture
device and although Vista recognizes it, the Audio portion of it will cause
Vista to crash if you select Recording Devices. However, if one want
to use the Nero Essentials 7 to view the input from the Sony television
Cablevision digital television box, one can, but one can not get the audio, but
one can hear the television behind the primary computer setup at the other end
of the living room. The second remote control for it will work with it,
but it needs to be programmed for the Sony television for on and off which I
will do shortly. One can unplug the Pinnacle USB capture device from
the USB 2.0 hub on the left side of the keyboard when not using it.
I will now do a Vista Complete PC backup of the primary system from the first
hard drive to the second hard drive. CIO

6:40 P.M.: Merry Christmas.
I woke up at 9 A.M. this morning.
I ate breakfast of
oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a 50% mixture of orange juice with a
50% mixture of grape juice with a teaspoon of Certo with vitamins and
supplements, and coffee. I washed the breakfast dishes. I made
my bed. I played some Christmas music on my new Philips DVD player
through my stereo system. I opened my Christmas presents, which I
had not already installed or opened. They included the Swiss Army
ranger knife,
Comfort Mocs: Slip-Ons at L.L.Bean in taupe color in size 10D, a
Caldor's photograph albums, and the
Swivel
Sweeper - AsSeenOnTV.com Official Site . I assembled the Swivel
Sweeper, and I am charging up its battery pack on the kitchen wall sockets.
It will come in handy. Of course in the last two months, I have
purchased and installed quite a few other items including the two new two line
cordless telephones. The two U.S. Army Extreme Cold sleeping bags
have yet to come, and I also installed quite a few new parts in the computer
systems, and Microsoft gave me a free copy of the Microsoft Vista Ultimate
operating system which is installed on the primary computer system.
I baked a Mrs. Smith's 36 ounce frozen pumpkin pie, which I set out to cool.
I think pumpkin pie should be refrigerated. Thus overall it is
a very joyous Christmas. I showered, and I cleaned up.
I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the
train station area. I found a discarded copy of the December 2006 issue of
the Greenwich Magazine that I brought home. The train station
was opened earlier today. I noticed the Greenwich Avenue movie
theatre is showing the James Bond movie "Casino Royale" if there are any spies
in the area. Starbucks was also opened. CVS was opened, and I
stopped by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Greenwich Avenue.
I stopped by CVS, and I toured the store, and I read their circular.
I then walked back down to my car, and I returned to CVS, and I bought buy one
get one free 60 capsule B-100 Life Fitness time release B complex for $11.99
both bottles. I completed my full walk of Greenwich Avenue.
There were quite a few people out, and the local church on the avenue was
letting out from its service. I then drove down by the
waterfront, and I noticed the Indian Harbor Yacht Club was not opened today, so
they will not be serving Christmas dinner as in past years. I did
noticed I think the Versailles restaurant next to Starbucks was opened.
I returned home. I took the fresh

6 pound turkey breast, and I rinsed it off underneath cold water, and I dried it
with a couple of paper towels. I then put a poultry baking rack in a
baking pan, and I put the turkey in the rack breast side up. I rubbed the
top breast portion with a generous amount of olive oil, and then I season it
with a generous amount of garlic powder, ground black pepper, chicken and meat
seasoning, chicken bouillon powder, and Italian spices. I baked it
in the Farberware convection oven at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour and 20
minutes until the bird watcher thermometer popped out, and then I turned off the
oven, and I let it stand in the oven turned off for 20 minutes more.
While the turkey was cooking I mixed up the ingredients for
http://www.geocities.com/mikelscott/stuff2.htm and I also added two
chopped shallots, and I used chicken bouillon powder instead of chicken bouillon
cubes, and for the last 35 minutes of the turkey cooking and standing cycle, I
brought the ingredients to a boil, and I simmered them over medium electric
burner heat, and then I added the 14 ounce bag of Arnold seasoned stuffing at
the end, and I mixed it all together until the liquid was absorbed, and the
stuffing was soft. I made up the 6 ounce package of Near East wild rice
and regular rice pilaf mix using the steamed rice method
http://www.geocities.com/mikelscott/mlsrice.htm . I put an inch
of water in a Revere pot with steamer tray and lid, and I put 1.5 cups of baby
carrots and broccoli spears, which I steamed on medium high electric burner heat
for 15 minutes. I put the contents of two 12 ounce jars of
Heinz fat free turkey gravy in a pot with lid along with one third of a 10 ounce
box of mushrooms that I sliced into 1/8th inch thick slices and a teaspoon of
Italian spices. I brought the gravy to a boil, and I left it simmer for 15
minutes over medium low electric burner heat. For the meal, I put
about 2 cups of the stuffing on a dinner plate and one third of the rice, and I
cut off two 3/8th inch thick large slices of the cooked turkey breast, and I put
about a 1/5 of a cup of the turkey gravy on the turkey. I put the
steamed vegetables in a separate bowl with a little bit of olive oil on them.
I also opened a 16 ounce can of Ocean Spray whole cranberry sauce, and I put one
third in a separate bowl. I put the rest of the turkey on a
dinner plate, and I covered it with a large plastic garbage bag and twist tie,
and I put it in the refrigerator. I put the other cooked items
in Rubbermaid containers in the refrigerator. I ate the meal with a
glass of iced tea. Halfway through the meal, I took a break to
digest my meal, and I washed the cooking utensils, and I chatted with a
relative. After the rest of the meal, I washed the dishes, and I
threw out the garbage. It was a very enjoyable Christmas meal, and I
should have three to four days of leftovers. CIO

had over 650 homes around the world, more than likely they might have even more
today, thus it is sort of hard to tell where they even might be. The
fellow that I chatted with in the Stop and Shop when I bought the turkey told me
that Ted Kennedy keeps all of his money in Tahiti
Tahiti Tourisme - Official Web Site
. When I knew
http://geocities.com/mikelscott/fred.htm , I searched his family name
on the internet, and it was the name of a Dutch Prime Minister in a Greta Garbo
movie that was shot, and it was the name of a Dutch family in Dutch Intelligence
that moved to Tahiti after World War II, so possibly Fred Von Mierers was using
Teddie Kennedy's money or possibly his own. They both lived in Lord
Mountbatten's building in Manhattan that was east of First Avenue that ran from
54th to 55th street along with Billy, Joe MacDonald, Ema MacDonald, Noel Coward
and a few other people including Lord Mountbatten's grandsons Louis and Michael.
Thus since Ema MacDonald looks like the Queen Mum, and since her family had the
land grant for Western Canada, and since there was never a revolution in Canada,
more than likely Ema MacDonald's clan probably are fairly established also if
you get my drift. She liked going to the Mayfair restaurant nearby and
having a cocktail nearby at Billy's or Crawford's on the east side of First
Avenue just south of her building. One of the people I chatted with

Complete PC backup from the first hard drive to the second hard drive on the
primary computer. I had the server hacked badly, so I tried to
restore the Microsoft XP Automatic System Recovery backup, but it said my first
hard drive was too small. This was probably because it did not
recognize the drive, since I had partitioned and formatted it with Vista.
I disabled in the CMOS the SATA second hard drive on the server. I
then booted the XP Professional CD, and I repartitioned the first hard drive on
the server to its maximum default about 136 gigabytes. I then
installed XP Professional. I had to call up Microsoft to activate
it. I then installed XP SP2 from the CD that I have.
I enabled the second hard drive which is SATA IDE. I set it to be
drive D: which was reconized when I rebooted. One has to use Disk

right drive letter as before. I then restored the XP Professional

12/23/06 Saturday
12:35 A.M.: Possibly someone has
tried to compromised my modest computer setup because they are trying to keep me
from publishing some sort of unknown information that might compromise their
current position today. As far as I know have spent most of the last
16 year reading technical information and having lived mostly in the public eye
all of these years, I do not know much of any unknown or unpublished
information. When I lived in Nantucket and Key West and Manhattan
and when I traveled around the country I was pretty much always in the public
eye, since when one lives in this area, one tends to take that for granite.
In 1980 when I had someone steal my identification with my United States
passport along with my traveling funds and my Pan Am Clipper Club baggage tag, I
looked into the matter and nothing came of it. About 12 years later
I was told by American Express that the passport had shown up in Amsterdam, so
possibly it was someone with my same look. Alas I did not make it to
Amsterdam until my side trip on my excursion to the Winter Olympics in
Albertville, France. In the period of 1982 from April to February 1983, I
was less visible because I was building a mother in law apartment for some
friends of mine out in Plandome Manor, New York. The owner of the
house was from a family on the maternal side that were stationed at the Kaiser's
consulate in New York before World War I, however she had also married into an
old American family. The daughter of the house worked for Cyrus
Vance as a 170 word per minute word processor in his law firm across from the
IBM building in Manhattan at 57th street and Madison Avenue where they also sell
a lot of shoes. The divorced son in law was stationed as a software
engineer in Libya working for the United States Department of State.
His wife to be was married to the spokesman of the Palastein Liberation
Organization in New York. As I recall she was from Nova Scotia and
worked for the World Council of Churches. The grandson that I knew
was a horticulturalist of some professional renown. The other grandson
became a chef after going to Johnson and Wales school of culinary arts.
The oldest granddaughter married and had several children and her husband bought
the house after the grandmother passed away. The youngest
granddaughter married a Chinese silk merchant and has worked as a flight
attendant for China Airways. I keep joking we keep getting the
overflow from all of her flights since there is not much of interest in Plandome
Manor, New York; but a well planned small railroad suburb without commercial
activity. It is similar to the Millbrook area of Greenwich,
Connecticut. The family seems to have been bothered by people posing as
United States Military Intelligence, which seems rather odd. I
recall the oldest daughter worked at one time in a restaurant in Manhattan where
the Scientology Church had their offices, so possibly their family is being
bothered by them posing as Military Intelligence. I do know an older
man named Mr. Grumman lived in the neighborhood, and I think he made buses in
Manhattan, when the airplane business was not busy. I believe the
grandmother had bought one of the first Mercedes Benz out on Long Island.
Her lawyer lives here in Greenwich, Connecticut. If there is any
conspiracy theory possibly when my passport was stolen when I was having dinner
with them in SoHo before planning to go to Norway, possibly someone stole my
identification to use it for some activity like the Pan Am bombing over
Lockerbie Scotland, since at the time I had a friend from Syracuse, New York and
we all knew each other in Key West, Florida where Pan Am had first started
flying. Possibly someone might have posed as me around Pan Am in
Libya where the son in law was stationed to gain access to the Pan Am flight.
Since I knew a great many Pan Am people, they use to be very friendly with me.
It is a long shot, but that is the only thing I know in terms of public
information that people might bother me about. I am sure it has been
looked into many years ago, and more than likely there is nothing to it.
As I recall on the state department side of the family the father's father was a
colonel in the United States Army, so I doubt if there was any monkey business.
At the time he was stationed in Atlanta, Georgia. Of course if
because of some unknown reasons we start to loose energy around here, the
shipment of 40 AA and 10 AAA alkaline batteries that I ordered from
www.batteries.com has shipped, but I have
yet to be billed the $7.99 yet on my debit card account. There is
U.S. postal tracking of
www.usps.com "627711-1115123841"

Until
www.amazon.com returns my $79, I do
not have any funds to go bottom fishing. CIO

10:35 P.M.: After dinner, I thought
for a while. I chatted with a friend who has Queen Victoria's blood.
I left a message with a medical professional whom should know something about
computers since he works for the Watsons whomever they are. I have
to remind
www.ibm.com that despite their
friendship with the bootlegging Kennedy clan most of the original computer
technology that helped IBM get into the computer business came from England from
Oxford University during World War II in return for lend lease. The
Irish were good at building ships, but alas once you deal with the English and
their Commonwealth network of 2.5 billion people, it is a large clan. From
a Geo Political point of view the English are allies of the United States of
America, but the country of Russia historically has protected England even
during World War II. In other words if you mess with England you are
also messing with Russia. From what I know if push comes to shove
between the English and the Irish or Italians, more than likely the English will
win since Russia has dealt with all of them. More than likely the
Germans know better or whatever small part of them still remain. I
suppose other geopolitical groups such as India or China also matter, but from
what I know they have so much internal strife, they could not be bothered with
any of these Mickey Mouse activities. In the old days, if you wanted to
make a Coca Cola fizz, you just put in a few M&Ms, if you get my drift.
I think similar hacking activities were happening about a couple of years ago,
when on August 14, all of the electricity for some reason went out in the
northeast of the United States. From what I know the central United
States government does maintain central control over the communications
networks, and if any small group is trying to misuse it for their own advantage,
they will have their communications broken off. If I had a problem
with a hacker, and I knew a 100% sure whom the hacker was which I do not, I have
friend whom could possibly pursue a simple remedy here against a simple home
user hacking a computer or a computer network. One would just take
one of those big firemen that tend to be awake all night, and you give them a
sledge hammer, and you would let them smash the glass covered electrical meter
on the outside of the house of the hacker's house which would be very dangerous
if you did not know what you were doing, since it might cause an electrical
fire. However, in time of war with sabotage a local military person
might just do that. That is all that I can suggest. CIO

7:05 P.M.: I worked off the server
yesterday, and I chatted with some friends. I chatted with the desk
clerk from Austria at the downtown
The
Delamar on Greenwich Harbor on the harbor in Greenwich, Connecticut, and I
told him what little I know about Austria. I chatted with friends
out in Plandome Manor, New York are being bothered by people impersonating
military intelligence. I chatted with a friend that investigates.
Apparently the person that is younger that looks like me is an equestrian
enthusiast, so if you see him, he is a bit more bow legged than I am which one
gets from riding horses regularly where ever they can afford to do that in this
area. It is certainly not in my back yard. I was told at
www.biltmore.com they are building a new
staple, so they must have a horse or two. Of course locally up in
Darien, Connecticut, they have the small Oxridge Hunt Club, but I am not
sure if it goes year round, because some people move their horses around with
the seasons. I chatted with a friend in Sea Island, Georgia whom told they
built a new cloister whatever that is. I think it is a quiet place were
monks or priests walk around. I chatted with a local security person about
the computer hacking problems. I went to bed about midnight. I
was up at 10 A.M. this morning.
I ate breakfast of
oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a 50% mixture of orange juice with a
50% mixture of grape juice with a teaspoon of Certo with vitamins and
supplements, and coffee. I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made
my bed. I threw out the garbage. Yesterday
I saw a Sparrow Hawk
Sparrowhawk, Accipiter nisus in a tree near our building, so at least the
birds make it over here from Europe, which is unfortunate for the small birds.
One of my neighbors leaves bread crumbs outside for the smaller birds.
Another neighbor keeps a small bird with cold feet. I chatted with Putnam
Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street about the individual whom seems to be
mistaken for me. I think they own a gravel company locally here in
Connecticut. I next showered, and I cleaned up. I picked up
mail. I went out, and I went downtown. I went by
the Merry Go Round Mews Thrift shop, and I bought two 8 inch by 10 inch glass
framed derogative prints of small ships from the Mystic Free Press
Mystic Seaport: The Museum of America
and the Sea™ : Home of the ship Joseph Conrad and another one of a Yankee
Brigantine for $2 each and .24 tax for $2.24. I then drove down by
the waterfront. I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.
Their clothes are half price. I then went by the Stop and Shop.
I bought $27.70 in groceries, and they did not give me a detailed receipt, but
basically it is at $1.99 a pound fresh Shady Brook Farms turkey breast for
$12.38
Welcome to Shady Brook Farms
, a 6 ounce box of Near East long grain and wild rice pilaf mix

for $2.89, a pound of baby carrots for $1.99, broccoli crowns for about $1.99 a
pound for $2, a 5 pound bag of onions for $3.49, a red pepper at about $3.59 a
pound for a $1, two Granny Smith apples for about a dollar each, two 12 ounce
jars of Heinz fat free turkey gravy for a dollar each, and a 10 ounce box of
mushrooms for about $2 for $27.70 total. I chatted with somebody I
recognized from Nantucket. I then returned home, and I chatted with
a neighbor. I watched the
NASA - NASA TV
Landing Page land. I put away my groceries. I will
now prepare and eat the same primary meal as yesterday, but I will use Stop and
Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese on the burger with onions along with the
other items. I also made up a batch of Formula One
http://mikelouisscott.com/icetea.htm yesterday. I hung the two ship
pictures above the inside bathroom door on either side of the picture of the
Russian Tall ship the Kruzenshtern, and I moved the picture of the white
Siberian tiger from that location to the left side of the sink area above the
Water Pik. CIO

12/21/06 Thursday
6:55 P.M.: After the last message, I
worked with the server instead of letting the primary computer be hacked by the
local youth. Since the income of the local families depends on their
computers working properly, more than likely the local families will not be able
to afford to get much for the local children for Christmas since their parents
computers were hacked by the local youth on vacation. It is sort of
like wrecking the family car, and the parents are not able to go to work.
I chatted with some family and friends, and I ate three scoops of sugar free
butter pecan ice cream. I went to bed at 10 P.M.. I woke
up at about 10 A.M., and I chatted with a relative.
I ate breakfast of
oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a 50% mixture of orange juice with a
50% mixture of grape juice with a teaspoon of Certo with vitamins and
supplements, and coffee. I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made
my bed. I had to reboot the server because it was hacked, and I did
a system restore back to two days ago. I chatted with
www.cablevision.com about the technical
problems I have been having for the last month. They said I should
email
mailto:abuse@cv.net . They are
located in Melville, Long Island where a friend whom looks like me is a licensed
investigator, so maybe he will get to the bottom of the matter. I
went outside, and I threw out some garbage. I chatted with the
message service of another associate. While I was out, I
picked up my mail. I showered, and I cleaned up. I went
out, and I went by the George Weston Bakeries Arnold Bread outlet, and I bought
a six pack of regular Arnold bagels for $1.85 and a 21 ounce Entenmanns pumpkin
pie for $2.25 for $4.10 total. I then went to my regular 3 P.M.
appointment, and I returned home. I made and ate the same primary
meal as yesterday. I chatted with a relative. For now,
since I have been having problems with hackers on both the primary and the
server computers, I am not running the primary computer with the cable modem
turned on, and instead I am transferring my notes to the server, and after I
shut down the primary computer, I turn on the cable modem and I work off the
server, which for some reason does not seem to get hacked as much or as badly.
It is a Hell of a Way to have to work, because of a bunch of destructive lazy
kids whom have too much free time on their hands. I was told by two
local experts, it is probably the local youth causing the problem.
As far as I am concerned they can turn the electricity off on their houses or
where ever they hide out. I will now post this note and shut
down the primary computer. CIO
Note:<888>
12/20/06 Wednesday
6:25 P.M.: I restored my recent
changes on the primary computer. I did a Vista Complete PC
backup of the primary computer system from the first hard drive to the second
hard drive. The primary Vista computer system seems to be
running just fine. Since gasoline is back to around $3 a
gallon and since we have been having warmer weather, I took the new
Mongoose.com bike
Amazon.com: Mongoose Inland 26-Inch Dual Suspension Mountain Bike: Sports &
Outdoors , from where I had it stored behind the long green sofa in front of
the windows, and it came from
www.pacific-cycle.com
, and I put it along the back side of the down sofa in the walk through area
behind the sofa. Thus it will be available for use in an energy
shortage should one arise. I also put the orange safety helmet on the back
of the sofa adjacent to the bike. It has a dynamo for front and rear
lights. It has only been test ridden in the parking lot a couple of
times when I lubricated it. The lubrication materials are on the
floor of the hallway sweater closet. I got it on sale new for a $100
with free shipping last June 2006 from
www.amazon.com , and I already had the orange helmet, and I invested about
$20 in the bike light system at the Greenwich Bike shop behind Saks Fifth
Avenue. The orange helmet cost about $45 from
JensonUSA.com - Your Mountain & Road Bike
online parts supplier! . It is really not a woman's bike, it is
more of a unisex bike, such as older people might ride. I donated the
vintage Schwinn racing bike to the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop, and they
priced it at $40. I only paid $10 for it there about 4 years before that,
but I cleaned it up and lubricated it a bit. We have had warmer
weather in this part of the area, but for the local fools on Wall Street, one
has to remember a great deal of the larger part of the North American continent
has had much colder weather already, and thus there is probably already heavy
consumption of energy, so the price of fuel more than likely will continue to
rise in this area for the foreseeable future. Of course worldwide
energy prices are also determined by the weather elsewhere in the world also.
I have had a bothersome neighbor keep calling me at all hour of the daytime
which is my normal sleeping time, and I have advised a few associates of the
fact. I try to be diplomatic, but obviously the person has a
separate agenda of some sort, and part of the plan is to keep bothering me.
Since I have been in this building about 17 years, and I have never bothered
anyone, I can not figure out why a neighbor insists on bothering me, when no one
else does. Probably there is nothing on television to watch for the
neighbor whom does not seem to have any past times, so more than likely the
neighbor is bothering other residents. I am sure the Greenwich
Housing Authority is already aware of the matter. I will now shut
down the primary computer, and I will relax for a while, and then I will go to
bed. CIO
Note:<888>
12/20/06 Wednesday
4:00 P.M.: Just about tea time.
I ate the same primary meal as yesterday. I took the top round roast
that I bought yesterday, and I cut it into about 2 inch square chunks, and I ran
it through the cuisineart, and I turned it into ground beef. I made
six 7 ounce hamburger patties out it. I put four in a flat
Rubbermaid container in the refrigerator, and I put two in a double Ziplock bag,
which I put in the freezer. I now have enough meat ready for my
primary meals until Christmas, which if I am lucky I might be having my usual
modest turkey dinner with a lot of stuffing
Scott's Stuffing Recipie for
Arnold Premium Stuffing . I think the big people are back home
from their working adventures, since I have seen a larger group of people around
Greenwich than I normally see, however they tend to be the taxpayers, since they
can afford to live here. When I grew up here there were a lot
of large people around here, and I was always one of the smaller people.
That is why the town tends to have relatively good security. CIO
Note:<888>
12/20/06 Wednesday
2:35 P.M.: The computer was running
buggy, so I did a Vista Complete PC backup restore to last Saturday's backup.
Not much had changed, so it is still basically the same system. I
guess with all of the high school kids on vacation whom might be hacking or
possibly North Korean agents whom do not like me because I use to keep an eye on
General MacArthur's wife's hotel at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan or other
agents of influence, I seem to get hacked regularly, so I do not get much other
work done anymore. Of course it is a lot more comfortable sitting at
home than watching the world go by outside Starbucks on Greenwich Avenue.
Who knows maybe it is the
www.mit.edu observer
from this past summer is bothering me on the internet. Unless I know
something about some other matter there is no reason to really bother me.
Maybe when I knew the State Department software engineer out on Long Island,
some of his associates are bothering me concerning an incident I do not know
really much about 26 years ago. You have to remember I spend so much
time working, I do not have that much time to pay attention to the media stories
and conspiracy theories they drum up all the time to sell newspapers.
Well at least the primary computer is back to running just fine again.
That is why I spend so much time doing backups and keeping multiple backups.
Also since I use inexpensive hardware, if there is a hardware problem as opposed
to software problem, my systems are generally fairly easy to fix.
The first thing they teach you in computers is "Backup, Backup, Backup!" and the
second thing they teach you is "GIGO", "Garbage In, Garbage Out".
Thus after many years of experience I pretty much have learned to keep my own
computers maintained as best as I can afford to. It is rather
amusing that any individual would bother me, so possibly it is just another
computer out there on the internet that randomly targets computers of home
users. I obviously do not have the expertise to know what is causing
the problem, but with 300,000
www.ibm.com
employees earning over $100,000 a year and the United States Government spending
so many billions of dollars on electronic information, obviously someone out
there in the wood work knows about the cause of the system problems I frequently
experience. CIO

looked at
Amazon.com: sleeping bag , and they have this one good to 25 degrees

Amazon.com: Coleman Taos 25-Degree Mummy Sleeping Bag: Sports & Outdoors ,
but it gets colder than that around here, and since I live in an electric heated

Amazon.com: Teton Sports Celsius XL 0-Degree Sleeping Bag: Sports & Outdoors
good to 0 degrees Fahrenheit, so I went out, and I transferred some of my last
funds into my account at the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York at
West Putnam Avenue, and I returned home. I explained to a Greenwich
Housing Authority administrator whom was in the area what I was doing.
We now have two couches one by the family units and one by the retired units
available. I went to order
Amazon.com: Teton Sports Celsius XL 0-Degree Sleeping Bag: Sports & Outdoors
, but I was prompted by something called Amazon Prime, and I went to look at
what it was about, and they automatically billed me $79 for joining it.
I cancelled it, and I chatted with
www.amazon.com at
Amazon.com Sign In contact, and they explained to me that the $79 would be
put back in my account in a day or two, so at the moment I can not afford to buy
the sleeping bag. Well, at least I have not spent it yet.
I picked up my mail downstairs, and not too much seems to be happening around
here. CIO

washed the breakfast dishes. It seems to have finally gotten
colder here. Greenwich Country Day Classmate died
Greenwich Time Robert Paul Van Der Stricht . As I recall Rob was
about 6 foot 8 inches tall, and he use to like to play chamber music. As I
recall Rob's family owned a department store in Syracuse, New York. Since
it is cold here some people might want to look into the
Key West Hotel Resorts & Florida Keys

in Greenwich, Connecticut across the street on the north side of the Greenwich
railroad station where the Thomas Cooke travel agency used to be and where
www.lexmark.com use to have their corporate
headquarters before
www.ibm.com spun it off
into a separate company. Since Lexmark is now in horse country in
Lexington, Kentucky, there is obviously a horse connection to
www.ibm.com . I guess the bookies
need a lot of heavy duty printing capacity to keep track of all of their bets.

8:00 A.M.: I went downtown yesterday
after the last message. I went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on
Mason Street. I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.
Their clothes are 50% off. I bought a two album package of photograph
albums from Caldors with magnetic pages for $5. I then went by
the Greenwich Automotive Exxon service station, and I bought $8 of premium self
service unleaded gasoline for $2.899 a gallon for 36.3 miles driving in the last
10 days at 13.9 miles per gallon at an average of 12 miles per hour.
I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought two 59 ounce containers of
Tropicana orange juice with calcium for $3 each, a 1.75 quart container of Edy's
low fat slow churn butter pecan ice cream for $1.99, two 16 ounce containers of
Planter's lightly salted dry roasted peanuts for $1.99 each, a 48 ounce
container of Quaker Old Fashioned oatmeal for $4.49, a top round roast at $1.99
a pound for $5.39, a two pound bag of baby carrots for $2.99, a 5 pound box of
Clementines from Spain for $4.99, Chiquita bananas at .54 a pound $1.92, a head
of organic broccoli at $1.99 a pound for $2.59 for $34.34 total. At
night I noticed the lights in front of the Stop and Shop and in their parking
lot are turned off, I guess to save energy. However, there is still
lots of automobile traffic around here at rush hour. I then returned home,
and I chatted with friends and family for the rest of the evening until about 10
P.M.. I received a Christmas gift from a relative, and it is a
cordless Swivel Sweeper that runs for 45 minutes on a charge. I ate three
scoops of sugar free butter pecan ice cream. I went to bed
about 10 P.M.. I was awake at 6 A.M.. I will now eat
breakfast of
oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a 50% mixture of orange juice with a

12/19/06 Tuesday
2:40 P.M.: I went outside, and I
tested the AT&T two line 2.4 GHz cordless telephone, and it has about the same
range as the Panasonic 5.8 cordless telephone. It does get a signal
at the north end of the building by the smoking bench, but it is only clear
about halfway up the north side in the parking lot area, and it works just fine
outside by the front entrance. I picked up my mail. I
said hello to some neighbors. Yesterday I put two frozen 6 ounce 91%
lean ground sirloin burgers from the freezer in the refrigerator to defrost.
I put an inch of water in a Revere pot with steamer tray and lid, and I put in
1.5 cups of baby carrots and broccoli spears, and I steamed them on medium high
electric heat for 15 minutes. I took a 10 inch stick proof frying
pan, and I put in a few table spoons of olive oil and a couple pads of
margarine, and I peeled and sliced one medium onion into 1/4 inch thick slices,
and I turned the frying pan on to medium high electric burner heat, and I
brought the fat to a simmer, and I sautéed the onions and burgers for about 4
minutes a side flipping it regularly and seasoning it with garlic powder and
ground black pepper and lowering the heat to medium. For the last
two minutes on one burger side, I put on four 1/8th inch thick by 1.75 inch by 2
inch slices of Stop and Shop Swiss cheese, and I put a lid on the pan, so the
cheese would melt. I then put the burger on a plate covered with
onions, and I put the steamed vegetables in a bowl with a little bit of olive
oil on them. I ate it all with a glass of iced tea. The
good news is that I seem to have gone down in weight in the past year from 215
pounds to 185 pounds, so I have lost 30 pounds in weight. Maybe I
should not have given all my clothes to the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop from
when I weighed 155 to 165 pounds, but I do not wear suits, oxford shirts, and
sports jackets anymore too much, because it makes one look too prosperous, which
on my budget, I do not want anyone to think I am too prosperous.
With arthritis every pound of upper body weight is 4 pounds at the knees, so I
have probably taken off 120 pounds of weigh at the knees. Local

I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will shower and clean up, and I
will go out for some downtown activity. More than likely it will be
very busy downtown, so I might not find a parking place in my normal routine,
but I will make it to the Stop and Shop for provisions. It is good
to get out in the winter, so one does not get Cabin Fever. CIO

1:10 P.M.: I printed out a more
current telephone list that I keep by the phones. I programmed the
AT&T 2.4 GHz cordless telephone directory which took a while. The
server rebooted. I do not know if it is the local high school
hacking when they are off during the Christmas holiday period or if it is other
problems. After it rebooted yesterday, I changed the CMOS settings
to make it go a little bit faster, but last night and early this morning, there
were no problems. If people are hacking they can be sued, and they also
can be picked up by the local PD for the activity. It could be a
very costly mistake. Generally around the holiday period and the
beginning of summer vacation, we get the local youth hacking in this area.

I ate three scoops of low fat sugar free butter pecan ice cream. I
checked out the BBC

and they really do not tell one very much about what is going on over there.
It seems they have a bigger market covering the U.S.A. with stories like this
BBC
NEWS | UK | England | Oxfordshire | Beer banned in US over Santa logo .
I guess they expect all of us to spend a lot of money to go over there to see
what it is like instead of what the media portrays it as. Alas,
unless the Loch Ness monster pushes it over to this side of the pond, I probably
will never make it over there except in my dreams. I was thinking
some of the computer problems I have been having could have been caused by
Tinker Bell, of course nobody over in England remembers who Wendy, Michael, and
John were. As far as I am concerned Captain Hook has taken over the
country here, we are left to our wits in. I told the bank guard
today at the Bank of New York whom is from Haiti that I had frequently tried to
sell the Saudi Arabians toilet paper, but since there is not much water there,
they seem not to use toilet paper. From what I learned they wipe
with one hand and eat with another, and they use a rag soaked in oil to clean
off their butts. Thus since they wipe with the hand that us
Americans normally shake hands with, they normally do not shake hands that way.
Maybe they burn the stuff like camel dung who knows.

10:15 P.M.: I went out after the last

left a nice sofa bed that is very heavy by the dumpster. I went by
Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I then returned home.
I then did some computer work. I chatted with
www.biltmore.com about Dutch matters.
They seem to put out a lavish Christmas spread for those visiting.
The server rebooted, so I did a Microsoft memory test, and it said the memory
was all right. I went outside a couple of times. My UPS
deliveries arrived. I put the 1 gigabyte smart card in my memory
card reader for the primary computer. I will back up some redundant
files to it at a future time. I do not think my Polaroid camera will
handle that large of a memory card, but I could try it. I put the
AT&T 2.4 gigahertz cordless telephone on the telephone table at the apartment
entrance, and I set up its settings. I will program its directory
once it is charged up possibly tomorrow. It supposedly takes 8 hours
to charge up. I filled out the $10 mail in rebate information, and I put
it and the invoice in an envelope, and I mailed it downstairs. I
made a copy of the invoice and the rebate form. Thus with free
shipping and $3 handling the phone cost me about $33. It is a
refurbished model, but it looks like new. I put the 10 million watt
rechargeable lantern on the left side of the sideboard in the bedroom, and it
takes 15 hours to charge up, and then one disconnects it, and it should be fully
charged by 9:30 A.M. tomorrow. I moved the picture drawer stand and the
NOAA weather radio to the right side of the bedroom sideboard, and I moved the
modern type Danish telephone made in China to the wicker rack to the right of
that. I printed out some information for a neighbor, and I left it
outside the neighbor's door. I told the neighbor that inexpensive
used laptops without much warranty are up for sale at
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZretailQ2drecyclers , but one should read
the detailed descriptions as to what if any parts are missing.

I do not have a small Dutch flag, but I have a large Dutch flag. I
thought I had a small Dutch flag. I changed the flag on top of the

think the Dutch are talking about Volvos. I could switch to the
French flag and French television, but since I studied French, I might make some
sense out of that. The British man named David Heron whom is a
neighbor of Prescott Bush over at Lyon Farm works for Swiss Air, and he told me
I am not suppose to know anything, and I am suppose to keep doing what I do, and
I was suppose to get a hair cut, which I can afford at the moment.
About all I know about him is that he collects Bing Crosby records, and he looks
a bit like the Duke of Windsor, and he also has a house in California.
Bing Crosby made his money from orange juice in California, and he was born in
Coure De Laine, Idaho where Mark Furman is also from, and someone I know
from the United States State Department that I knew at
www.lfc.edu is also from there. The
fellow from Lake Forest owns a low mileage Gull Wing Mercedes. I
think Bing Crosby is famous for the movie "Christmas in Connecticut" which
involved a lot of snow scenes, but the way we are going around here recently, we
could be selling beach chairs if you get my drift. It seems to warm
for this time of year. CIO

with ice, we had a much better lifestyle living up on Round Hill Road instead of
dealing with all of the orange juice people. I guess my family would
still be current members of the Round Hill Community Church, since we were back
country people, and I guess since it is too expensive to drive all of the way up
there for church services, we are left in this section of town being guarded by
the Italian mafia. From my experience the back country people are a little
bit larger than the Italian mafia, but they are so orientated towards corporate
business, they are focused on corporate matters, and for all I know they are all
away on business. Of course back in the old days, the British liked
gin and tonic, and when they went south, they liked
Schweppes.com bitter lemon with their
gin, and when they ran out of money, they started drinking rum and
www.coke.com and when became destitute, they
started drinking vodka and orange juice, and they would even be occasionally
seen drinking a beer
Budweiser
if offered one, and the preppies would always drink
Heineken if offered one, and from what I remember the people whom went to
Nantucket did not have anything to do but drink what ever was available
Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc., so
basically this town has a lot of beverage people out there in the wood work, and
even
www.pepsi.com is on our border, and they
even own
Tropicana , so once one gets
into the beverage business around here there is a lot to drink besides cow juice
Garelick Farms , of course always in
moderation. Of course
www.perrier.com
is still struggling across the street from me. The way I figure it
since people are driving less with the higher price of fuel, more than likely
some of them since they are not driving are probably enjoying some alcoholic
beverages, and thus more than likely some of those companies are doing better.
Of course urban people out of New York City tend not to drive, so more than
likely they are still enjoying a wide variety of beverages. CIO

I decided to listen to some German television with my internet setup, since they
tend to be more avant garde. One can chose Germany at
wwiTV.com - The ultimate guide to Live TV
webcasts. , and with my internet setup playing the Windows Media player on
the Sony television, I can listen to the German news broadcasts.
Alas I do not know German, but it seems to make as much sense as the English
language broadcasts. If I am being eves dropped on, it is a good way
to jam them. Since I detect that there might be some Germans around,
I took down the little Canadian flag off the server, and I put up the
little German flag. The Germans tend to be a cold weather dour
pragmatic people, and since I went over to Germany to do Christmas shopping in
1980 before Christmas, when New York City was economically depressed, I figure
the Germans could return the favor and come over here and do some Christmas
shopping 26 years later. Of course I am not sure what we have here
that the Germans would be interested in, but we could always hold German days on
Greenwich Avenue to see if anymore people show up shopping. The
Germans are suppose to have lots of money with their booming economy, since they
apparently have done a lot of engineering work in Saudi Arabia, more than likely
they probably have made a lot of money. I have numerous German
contacts coming from a Dutch family who lived on the German border, and since
Fred's apartment in Manhattan

consulate is, more than likely I dealt with some other Germans.

4:30 P.M.: I ate 1.5 scoops of black

chatted with a local detective. I still think beside hackers through
the internet that someone specifically is gaining access to my apartment and
using my computers while I am out of the apartment and while I am also asleep
which bothers me. When I started up the primary computer this past
session around 11 P.M. last night, it started up differently, and the Windows
Media player configuration came up that a new media device had been plugged into
the primary computer, when I had not done any such thing. It is
reason to be suspect that something is amiss. Since I had not been
out of the apartment in between sessions, it would lead me to believe that
someone entered my apartment while I was asleep, and more than likely has done
so
at other times. I will now shut down the primary computer, and I

2:25 P.M.: A smart Dutch relative I know is
buying this
Comfort Fleece Zip-Vest: Fleece at L.L.Bean for her Dutch friend in Palm
Beach, Florida. I know it gets cold in Palm Beach, Florida.
I use to live nearby in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and after it was 21 degrees
Fahrenheit at 7 A.M. in the morning on Thanksgiving Day in 1976 by the Swimming
Hall of Fame, I checked out Key West again after New Years. I use to
hitchhike from Key West to Fort Lauderdale and back, and I would even think
about returning north. However, on one excursion as far north as West Palm
Beach, Florida on the toll road, when I saw the bank sign at about 5 P.M. in the
evening on a rather chilly February day, and it said 34 degrees Fahrenheit, I
returned back to Key West that same evening. In the early morning
hours after a slow trip down there, and freezing on the road, I had a bowl of
oatmeal at the Howard Johnsons in Islamorada, and I got a ride from a fellow
from Chicago, Illinois driving a new Buick sedan, and he was driving the old set
of Keys Bridges which were then two lane at over 90 miles an hour. Just as
we came off the set of bridges on the north side of Marathon he did a 360
degrees spin out at full speed, and we were stopped by a local sheriff whom told
us to slow down, but let the driver go. I recall the fellow was
living on Whitehead street near Mallory Square. I lost my interest
in regularly hitchhiking after that, except for when I had to get somewhere.
www.llbean.com for some reason sends me
email about what a relative is buying. Personally I never intended
to spend so much time down in Key West, Florida, I was planning to hitch a ride
on a sailboat to Tobago, which I was unsuccessful at in Fort Lauderdale.
Back then I was a pretty good swimmer, but there were so many beached sailors
back then, I was never offered a ride on a sailboat anywhere. When one of
my friends who was Richard Nixon's neighbor in Key Biscayne, Florida showed up,
it suddenly got busier in Key West, Florida. When my friend was down there
whose mother was a DuPont nothing ever seemed to happen, and it was pretty much
a deserted boarded up town with a bunch of stray dogs and chickens in the
streets, and not much to look at as far as tourism. Thus my friend
from Key Biscayne must have known some wealthier investors than the DuPonts.
As far as I know he still has not run out of money yet, and since he speaks
Spanish, and since Fred Von Mierers
http://mikelouisscott.com/fred.htm had lived with the Saltonstall family
when they were Richard Nixon's ambassador to Spain, possibly since my friend
James Edward Eldert if that were his real name and possibly since he spoke
Spanish, possibly he is actually really from Spain. He claimed to be
Dutch and Irish, and he knew Princess Irene of the Netherlands, but with
Europeans it is really hard to sort them out, since a lot of different
nationalities seem to have homes in Spain or Greece where it is warmer in the
winter. However, I did meet some Swedes after meeting Jimmy, so possibly
he was actually from a Swedish family that lived in Spain who knows.
I have a feeling if we watched the S.A.S.
SAS Sverige -
SAS Sweden air terminals more closely, we might see him arriving and
departing on his world travels. More than likely he was mad at me
for not treating him like some sort of royalty, but he told me he was from a
family of dairy farmers in upstate New York, but it sure got busy when he showed
up out of the blue. I have a feeling he might be from one of those
Spanish families who also go to Argentina. Needless to say his
English is not that good for him to make sense in English, so when around him
you should use translators from his native language into English. He
should have known English better, but he only worked in Queen Elizabeth's
Sandringham farm shoveling horse manure, so possibly he was dealing with people
in other languages in the horse field. From what I can tell, he more than
likely is trying to figure out why I keep thinking about him, but I was told by
Helen Kress Williams whom was one of the smarter people that I have met that we
had to keep a close eye on him, and she did not mention anyone else.
Possibly he is some sort of royalty or even a jewel thief, it was not specified
why we had to keep a close eye on him. He did work for the United States
Senator from New York named Jacob Javitts in Washington D.C., so more than
likely they have some sort of record on him down in D.C.. Now I will go
through my email. CIO

1:00 P.M.: Basically since Greenwich,
Connecticut is suppose to be a wealthy town, which it actually is not, since
other towns like New Canaan or Darien are far wealthier, we tend to get a lot of
carnival type people showing up at the first of the month since we are near New
York City usually when seniors get their social security checks, and during the
holiday periods when people are out shopping. From what I know there
is nothing unusual happening here, except for what the traveling public might
try to pass off on us. Sad news in the tech field
C. PETER MCCOLOUGH - In loving memory . I did not go out after
the last message. Instead I installed
Apple - iPod + iTunes program on the
server. I had a problem installing it, in that the QuickTime Player
does not fully install until one opens it, and it keeps trying to install its
plug-in, which interferes with other XP programs. Once I resolved
this program, I organized my music files in the Ipod program. I have about
820 music files or actually about 410, since most of them are repeated, which is
about 3 gigabyte of files or two days of music if you count the doubles or one
day of music if you count only the single count. Most of them are
vintage music files, so they could be loaded into an Ipod if one owned one.
I also have a cable that could go from the server apple type port to the Epox
similar port, but I forget what that port is called at the moment. I
do not have a similar port on the primary computer. I think the port
is called fire wire. The cable is in the cable box underneath my
desk. Thus I could technically try to connect the two computers to
try to transfer files. I have never tried that before. I
chatted with three friends and a local security agency a few times.
The lights blinked here twice. I also fixed the problem I had with
the server by doing a System Restore restore to Friday when I made my last
backup. Possibly I was having problems with hackers since I had
users from Iran, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Wisconsin. However, it is the
nature of the internet that people can fake the origin of IP addresses, so that
may not be the case. For all I know it is coming from next door or within
the building or half way around the world. It is the nature of the
internet that one can also be hacked through the electricity connection beside
the modems. Thus I was not able to get out or pursue other more useful
routines. I will now go through my email. CIO

4:10 A.M.: I finished the backup.
I now have two external drive backups of the primary computer Vista partition on
its first hard drive. I have the original configuration to the
Maxtor external hard drive and the current configuration to Bytecc external hard
drive. Thus with the first hard drive to second hard drive backup
and the DVD backup, I think I have ample backups. I do not need to
make the another ASP backup of the server to the external hard drive, since the
server does not change much, and I have the current first hard drive to second
hard drive backup, and it would be better to have the original configuration on
the external hard drive that I have.
I then rinsed off the last two boneless chicken breasts underneath cold water,
and I dried them with a couple of paper towels. I then put them on a
dinner plate, and I rubbed each side with olive oil, and I also spread a layer
of 4C seasoned bread crumbs on each side of them as thick as one can put them on
without them falling off. I rubbed a little bit of olive oil in a Pyrex
pie baking dish, and I placed the two breaded boneless chicken breasts in it.
I put them in the Farberware convection oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35
minutes. I made up a batch of
Michael Louis Scott's Microwave
Oven Rice Recipe which I also added a little bit of chicken bouillon powder
to and Old Bay seasoning. I also put an inch of water in a Revere
pot with lid and steamer tray, and I put in 1.5 cups of baby carrots and
broccoli spears, and I brought it to a boil over high electric burner heat, and
I then let it steam for 15 minutes over medium high electric burner heat.
Once all of the items were done, I put one of the cooked breaded boneless
chicken breasts on a dinner plate with half of the rice, and I put the other
cooked chicken breast in a flat Rubbermaid container in the refrigerator, and I
also put the other half of the steamed rice in the refrigerator in a Rubbermaid
container. I ate it all with a glass of iced tea. I washed the
dishes as usual after a meal. Having been a professional dish washer
in Nantucket and Florida for about 8 years of my life when I would clean up
after 200 to 400 meals each night, it is not too hard to wash a few dishes after
my own meals. Alas I have no room in my apartment for an automatic
dish washer, and I do not use that many dishes. I could try drinking
a 50% to 50% combination of orange juice and grape juice with a teaspoon of
Certo in the morning. It would be sort of like a British punch if
you get my drift. Back in the pre computer days at the Greenwich
Library, I used to regularly read the cartoons in the British humor magazine
"Punch". It is only about 34 degrees Fahrenheit outside.
I guess I could go out for an early morning walk. At this time of
the year, it is what I frequently call the "Freezing Norwegian" patrol.
The "Freezing Norwegian" patrol is sort of like the Dutch Night Watch or the
Scottish Black Watch. The origins of the "Freezing Norwegian" patrol
come from Scotland in the old days, when they would watch their coastline for
stranded Norwegians whom might be shipwrecked off their coasts. It
is sort of like the Nantucket Life Boat Squadron, which with more modern
techniques people think is obsolete. I guess one could say it is
also sort like the "Key West Wreckers". However, the Key West
Wreckers were a bunch of con artists whom would put out fake light house beacons
and navigation beacons to lure ships to crashing ashore on the reef, and then
they would salvage their cargo. Thus all ships passing in the night
have learned the risks of traveling at sea. Of course there is they
old story of the "Flying Dutchman" which might have been a ghost ship.
However, frequently ships had secret compartments, and they were used for
smuggling or hiding pirates and were even engaged in the white slave trade.
Thus when one lingers around the waterfront particularly in Manhattan, one never
knows what can happen. I suppose various navies still keep their black
jack squadrons around the waterfront to shanghai any loose footed youth whom
might not want to go to sea. Thus when around the waterfront, one
never knows what can happen. I will now shut down the primary
computer, and I will go downtown for an early morning walk. This time of
year, one has to wear one's long underwear and dress more warmly. CIO

automobile registration. I changed the Lexmark X1185 scanner printer
USB port on the server from the USB 2.0 PCI card to the motherboard USB 2.0
port, and it now works fine. I scanned the registration, and I printed out
three copies on the Minolta 1350W laser printer. The Lexmark X1185
still has the defective black ink cartridge in it, so it does not make good
copies. It should work all the time, since the server it is

About 6 P.M., UPS delivered the Surge Protector strip. I
disconnected the Belkin SurgeMaster power strip from the server setup, and I
installed the new surge protector strip. I used the old Belkin power
strip as a second one with an identical one on my television stereo setup.
When using the Sony television as a monitor, one has to set it to Video 1.
I will leave it setup as it is for now, since I do not turn off the server, and
it is easy to switch with the Sony remote control the "TV/Video" button to
enable it on Video 1. Of course one could watch any other video media from
the internet, and the server also has the Real player on it for its content too.
I have the server motherboard sound playing into the Sony television, but one
could also switch it to the computer speakers. CIO

8:45 A.M.: I programmed the
Panasonic Model Details KX-TG6700B . It seems to work just
fine. It looks like a new model, and although it did not come with the new
box, is shows no sign of wear. It did come with the manual. I
went outside, and I threw out the garbage. I tested the Panasonic
cordless phone, and it works fine outside my apartment by the benches down below
my apartment window by the building entrance. It works about 25 feet
further out from there. I does not work by the far end of the
building where people smoke cigarettes. It works about half way down
the hallway on my floor in my wing of the building. Both the handset
and the base unit have conferencing features, so one can conference on the two
telephone lines, thus one could make three way calls or place a long distance
call from a local number to a long distance number if one needed to.

picked up my mail. I sat outside for a while on a nice day until about
2:30 P.M., when FedEx delivered the two line Panasonic 5.8 GHz cordless
telephone. I went to my 3 P.M. appointment. I returned
home. I installed the Panasonic cordless telephone facing the long green

and glass coffee table. It works just fine, and by now it has
charged up. After this message I will program its Directory.
I moved the AT&T two line phone from that location, and I put it in the

possibly one could pick up Chicago for a $20 trillion dollar investment or so,
if you really had that type of chump change. Of course if you saw
some of the black Nubian waiters at the Pump Room in the Ambassador East Hotel
in Chicago, Illinois, you would know they tend to be a formidable group of

have a toilet company here called American Standard, if you can not find a pot

uses more memory, it will drive memory prices even higher. Alas, I
do not feel like going into debt to
www.paulallen.com and

so I will wait to get some more memory. Quite frankly for what I am
doing the 2 gigabytes of memory already in my primary computer is enough, but
the server probably would be a bit more responsive in its TV card program if it
had more memory up from 512 megabytes to 1 gigabyte, so I technically could
stick the 1 gigabyte of memory in the primary computer and have 2.5 gigabytes in
the primary computer and with the 512 megabyte from the primary in the server I
would have 1 gigabyte in the server, but alas this time of year, I am not very
good at hunting moose, so I might want to invest any extra money I might have on
a little bit better food or other activity in terms of my current winter

made the same dinner as two nights ago. However, for the vegetable I
use a 10 ounce package of Birdseye frozen spinach which I put in a half of a cup
of water in a Revere pot with lid, and I also added half of a sliced medium
onion, I brought it to a boil, and I cooked on medium high for 10 minutes.
I ate half of the vegetables with dinner, and I put the other half in a
Rubbermaid container. I also opened up another 64 container of Stop
and Shop lite grape juice, and I put the other 8 teaspoons of Certo in it.
One only gets about 16 teaspoons or two 64 ounce containers of grape juice with
a 3 ounce package of Certo, so it costs about 10 cents for the Certo in a 8
ounce glass of grape juice. I put out the Canadian Maple leaf flag
on top of the server monitors, since that is a cold weather flag of convenience.

orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee. I threw out
the garbage, and I picked up my mail. I went back to bed until 8
P.M.. I chatted with a relative a couple of times. I
finally got around to printing out a Christmas letter and doing my Christmas
cards. I sent out 25 Christmas cards this year with Christmas
letters. I was able to mail the Christmas cards which weighed less
than an ounce for .39 domestic first class postage and on the three
international Christmas cards, I put on three .39 stamps for the .84 required
postage for air mail. One can buy an .84 stamp at the post office machine.
I also put in a new black and a new color generic ink cartridge in the Epson
Stylus Color 880 printer, and it is working just fine. I ran the cleaning
and allignment cycles. I printed out the envelopes with the Epson
using the Microsoft Word 2003 program from a list of addresses that one high
lights, and the program imports the address. One has to set the
program for one's specific size envelope. I printed out the
Christmas letters mostly in blue with the HP DeskJet 842C, since last year I
used mostly red ink, so I am balancing the ink usage from year to year.
Next year, it will probably be mostly green if there is still ink available in
the cartridges. I printed out the letter on velum legal paper, so it
looks less commercial. I went out without cleaning up, and I went by
the Valley Road Post Office, and I bought two 18 U.S.A. snow flake stamp sheets
for $7.02 each and $14.04 total. I put 22 of the stamps on the 22
domestic envelopes, and I now have left over fifteen .39 stamps and one 1 cent
stamp. I also have a lot of extra Christmas cards left over from
years past. I keep them on the bottom right bookcase shelf in the left
bookcase in the bedroom hallway. I next went downtown, and I went by
the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Greenwich Avenue.
I chatted with an early morning stroller about a popular Canadian friend of mine
from Manhattan in the old days. I noticed the new Ralph Lauren Rugby
Ralph Lauren Store
Locations - Stores.Polo.com shop is suppose to open Friday December 15,
2006. I then drove down by the waterfront. I then
returned home. I post my Christmas letter at
Michael Louis Scott's Christmas 2006 Card and
http://www.geocities.com/mike2scott20062/xmasletter2006geo.htm .
I made up the Christmas letter by using the Microsoft Word 2003 program to write
the letter, and I then used the Office 2003 Program with the Victorian template
from Holiday category to copy and past the text into the publisher
document. I saved the Christmas letter in web format also, so I
could post if on the internet, and to post it at the geocities server, I had to
edit out the subfolder links for the graphics with textpad in the .htm document,
since they are all displayed in the same folder at geocities. This
all took a bit of time. I will now reheat the same dinner as last
night which I will have with a glass of iced tea. For the steamed
vegetables, I will just have the last cup of baby carrots. I have
also been sipping on the grape juice with certo mixture. Tracking on the

10:40 P.M.: I came across this top secret
information
BBC
NEWS | Special Reports | Brits Abroad . I would imagine there
are one or two British citizens elsewhere, and maybe even some can be found on
the island of Bermuda. I guess from the old time perspective of
Greenwich, Connecticut people since I use to carry a Bermuda military draft card
and driver's license in the old days when I went pub hopping in Manhattan, some
people think I am from Bermuda. John McGrath whom was a Taft
classmate at Taft in Watertown, Connecticut use to sell them blank, and we would
fill out the appropriate information. I think he sold both
blank cards for $5, and to make them look more official looking we would
laminate them. I have relatives traveling on the
http://www.qm2.org.uk/itinerary.html this coming week for a cruise to
Barbados. When I used to change planes there coming from Tobago,
they would sell a liter of John Walker Black Label Scotch for two dollars
Barbados money which would be a $1 American. I have a neighbor in
Byram whom also lives in Barbados, and he still owes me $54 from when he crashed
into my Hyundai that I use to have and broke the left blinker light, so I guess
he owes 54 liters of Johnny Walker Black Label Scotch. I guess my
relatives could take delivery on it in Barbados this coming week. Of
course, I am not so sure how people are that good at collecting international
debts down south, since they come and go so often. The neighbor looks a
bit and talks a bit like Tony Snowden, but since he is frequently darkly tanned,
not everyone recognizes him. I chatted with a relative.
I opened up the package of six boneless chicken breasts, and I put four of them
in a flat Rubbermaid container in the refrigerator. I then rinsed
off the other two underneath cold water, and I dried them with a couple of paper
towels. I then put them on a dinner plate, and I rubbed each side
with olive oil, and I also spread a layer of Progresso Italian seasoned bread
crumbs on each side of them as thick as one can put them on without them falling
off. I rubbed a little bit of olive oil in a Pyrex pie baking dish, and I
placed the two breaded boneless chicken breasts in it. I put them in
the Farberware convection oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35
minutes. I made up a batch of
Michael Louis Scott's Microwave
Oven Rice Recipe which I also added a little bit of chicken bouillon powder
to and Old Bay seasoning. I also put an inch of water in a Revere
pot with lid and steamer tray, and I put in 1.5 cups of baby carrots and
broccoli crowns, and I brought it to a boil over high electric burner heat, and
I then let it steam for 15 minutes over medium high electric burner heat.
This
morning I watched a little bit of Connecticut Public television, and they were
having hearings on the placement of a liquefied Natural Gas conversion terminal
out in Long Island sound. The barge it sits on would be four times
the size of a foot ball field. They would need to install a pipe
line from the barge to the shore in Stratford, Connecticut to connect up with
the Iroquois natural gas pipe line. Apparently from when Long Island
Sound use to be a lake there is up to 500 feet deep of muck in the bottom of the
sound in various places, so it would be very difficult installing secure
footings for the pipe line in Long Island sound. Also there are
large boulders in the sound where the pipe line would come ashore in Stratford,
Connecticut. It does not say anything about running the pipe line to
Long Island also. From what I have been told by local fishermen,
there is also a large deep canyon that runs underwater beneath Long Island Sound
the full length of it. My order for the Panasonic cordless telephone is
still being processed despite the fact that I paid for expedited processing.

5:00 A.M.: I broke three large eggs in a bowl, and I added a couple of tablespoons of milk,
a tablespoon of grated parmesan cheese,
a teaspoon of olive oil, and dashes of Italian Seasoning, and I whisked
it all together. I then put a couple of tablespoons of olive oil in
a stick proof frying pan with a few pads of margarine, and I heated it on medium high electric heat, once the
oil became hot, I added the egg mixture, and once it began to solidify, I made a
batch of soft scrambled eggs. While doing that I also put three pieces of
paper towel on a microwave proof plate, and four strips of John Morrell
thick bacon and on top of that two paper towels, and I put a plate plastic
microwave lid on it, and I microwaved it for 4.5 minutes. I toasted
two slices of bread, which I put a little bit of olive oil on.
I ate it all with a glass of iced tea. I am charging up the 2.5

users whom buy at wholesale prices over the internet from other vendors.
It sure looks like they might be up to that. I also chatted with an
agent at
www.fbi.gov at 1-202-278-2000.
I went to bed about 10 A.M., and I was awake at about 6 P.M.. I
chatted with a relative and a friend. I was told that
www.nasa.gov had launched the Space Shuttle
NASA - NASA TV
Landing Page . I
ate
breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil,
orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee. I washed the
breakfast dishes, and I made my bed. I took a RCA Y splitter male to
two females, and I connected it to the rear of my Sony television with the
Philips video input into one RCA female jack, and I connected a 6 foot RCA male
to male video cable into the other jack. I then lead the cable
around, and I put a RCA female to female connector on the end of the cable, and
I connected it to the RCA male jack on the cable that leads into my primary
computer ATI video card output. Thus with the ATI program on the
primary computer, if I set the second monitor to remote monitor, I can watch my
internet content on the Sony television as a monitor including the Windows Media
player which I am using to play NASA TV. The sound still has to come
out off the computer speakers. I have a cable running from the
primary computer speaker to the Sony television, but to hook it up, I would need
two RCA Y splitters male to two female and RCA 2 male to one female or male
connector about six feet long. When I can afford it, I will also
order this part
Newegg.com - GENERIC 30S2-05300 RCA Plug / S-Video Jack Adapter - OEM which
would connect the video out cable from my server Nvidia video card and with a
female to female RCA connector, I would be able to connect the long RCA cable
into the Sony television if I wanted to watch the server video on the Sony
television. The server Nvidia card permits clone mode viewing, which
makes it easier to navigate a remote television monitor. My remote
mouse also works with the primary computer on the Sony television, if one turns
on the remote mouse sending unit on the left primary computer monitor.
I am just about ready to watch a rebroadcast of the shuttle launch from mission
control. Earlier I threw out the garbage, and I picked up my mail.

A.M.: The box of Certo is made by
Sure Jell
contains two 3 ounce liquid packets. Since one is suppose to put a
teaspoon of liquid certo in an 8 ounce glass of regular or lite grape juice, I
measured eight teaspoons into a 64 ounce container of Stop and Shop lite grape
juice, and I put the remaining amount in a small Rubbermaid container in the
refrigerator on top of the bottle of Moet and Chandon champagne.
From what I can tell each 3 ounce packet contains about 18 teaspoons
teaspoons
in an ounce - Google Search, so therefore a box of Certo would have enough
in it for six 64 ounce containers of grape juice. Since a box of Certo
costs about $3.50 and the regular price of a 64 ounce container of grape juice
is about $3.50, six 64 ounce containers of grape juice and a box of certo would
cost about $24.50, and that would make about 48 eight ounce classes of grape
juice and a teaspoon of certo or about .29 cents a day for a daily glass of
certo and grape juice. By comparison or about 7.5 cents a day for
the certo, and fresh orange juice would cost about as much as the grape juice,
so if one switched to the certo and grape juice recipe from orange juice, it
would cost you about 7.5 cents a day or at the current rate of my driving of
about .21 a mile for gasoline before insurance, maintenance, registration, and
capital depreciation, so basically one can try the grape juice and certo
arthritis cure for less than the price of driving a quarter of a mile, if one
wanted to try to walk. I will now shut down the primary computer, and I
will go to bed soon. I also ate about a half of a 16 ounce jar of

when I have time I should get a smooth copper bracelet instead of the rough

away kid in Key West, Florida there were suppose to be U.S. Navy
www.navy.mil Seals down there in Key West,
Florida, but that was in peace time, now they could be anywhere else.
I also mentioned when I was down in Tobago back in the winters of 1970 and 1971,
it was so poor down there, most of the men spent all day chopping coconuts with
machetes, so they thought we were rich. On our trips to Tobago we visited
with an heir to the Pullman railroad fortune, so it in effect it could be
considered working on the railroad, and when I was in Key West, I was hanging
around the Florida East Coast railroad Flagler Hotel, now known as the Casa
Marina, or "Castle by the Sea"

The Blackstone Group that owns the Casa

was a student in Europe in the winter of 1972, I had a U-rail pass

around the trains in Europe. A relative of mine has been offered a job
working for the British Railway system, but he has more technical expertise than
I do. I also spend a bit of time walking around the Metro
North and the Amtrak train facilities when I was in Manhattan. I
rode down on the Amtrak

from Toronto, Canada on my return in December 1983, before returning to
Greenwich, and the only person on the train besides the railroad conductors was
a woman that looked like the Queen Mum of England a little blond boy, as I
recall she enjoyed Labatt's beer. I called up W. Averill Harriman's
niece's husband when we stopped near East Aurora, New York, and he gave me the
telephone number for W. Averill Harriman's sister's house out in Sands Point,
Long Island, so I guess we are sort of in the caboose off all of the action out
here. I also built a garage apartment out on Long Island next to the
Plandome Manor, Long Island train station. Unfortunately the
railroad never seems to take notice of me. Back in college I lived on the
Farm that had an old bankrupt railroads track bed on it. I also happen to
have a grandfather that worked for the Illinois Central Railroad

plastic bags. I installed it on stereo rack just above the bottom
Sony CD player. I connected its video and audio cable to the rear of
the Sony TV to its inputs. It took a bit of time to get it right,
since I originally tried to install it to the front video and audio ports, and
they did not work because the rear ports were being used by the Pinnacle USB
audio inputs, which caused a problem. Once I disconnected the Pinnacle USB
audio cables and hooked up the Philips DVD player to the rear Sony audio and
video inputs, it worked just fine. I connected the Philips DVD
second audio out to the Technics at VCR2 to play it for music. One set the
Sony TV on Aux 1 with the Sony remote control for the DVD player to play.
The Philips DVD players sounds a lot better than the vintage Sony CD player
which I left in since it still works. The stacked stereo items are high
enough that one can not fully open the Technics turn table at the top, but I
rarely use it. I had one of the shelf clips break underneath the
stereo system stack, and I replaced it. However with all of its
weight, I felt it might be dangerous if a shelf clip broke again, so I stacked
the books and records, so they support the shelves all of the way from the
bottom of the cabinet to the top stereo shelf, so that is not a problem.
I will sometime put in strips of wood to make it more permanent.
I threw out the shipping box and the foam peanuts along with the foam peanuts

I put an inch of water in a Revere pot with steamer tray and lid, and I added
1.5 cups of baby carrots and broccoli crowns, and I steamed them on medium high
electric heat for 15 minutes. During the last four minutes, I
reheated the rice in the Rubbermaid container on one microwave oven vegetable
cycle. For the last 10 minutes, I put three tablespoons of olive oil
and two pads of margarine in a medium stick proof frying pan, and I heated the
fat on medium to medium high electric burner heat. Once the fat was
hot, I put in one 6 ounce boneless center cut pork medallion and one half of a
sliced medium onion .25 inches thick slices. I seasoned them
several times with garlic powder, ground black pepper and Italian spices.
I cooked them about four minutes a side turning them frequently, and for the
last few minutes, I added a few tablespoons of Rene Junot French white table
wine and a couple of tablespoons of Kikkoman soy sauce. Once they
were all done, I put the steamed vegetables in a bowl with a little bit of olive
oil, and I put the rice on a dinner plate with the pork covered with the onions
and juices. I ate it all with a glass of iced tea, and then I washed
the dishes. I emptied out my paper shredder, and I threw out the

fine, but the ink cartridges were either used up or dried up. I
installed the two spare generic ones that I had, and the color one works fine,
but the black one seems to have a clogged nozzle that I was not able to fix
after a considerable amount of effort, so one can not use it for black copying.
I can not afford to buy the Lexmark cartridges for it. When I have
time, I can look into returning the defective black cartridge. I had a new
black cartridge in it that I took out that did not work either. I cleaned
off the various mailings off the X1185, so it looks neater on the dining room

1:55 A.M.: My electricity bill in the month
of November 2006 was $160.05 just slightly below the monthly budget amount of
$165, but unfortunately during November 2006 I had not yet turned the electric
heat on in the apartment, so that is what it costs me for electricity on a
monthly basis without heat or air conditioning. Basically that is
for the lights, hot water, refrigerator, Honeywell Hepa air purifier, television
stereo systems and other small appliances such as the stove and Farberware
convection oven and the General Electric microwave oven, and of course the
computers with their monitors. Your figure the primary computer
frequently with both monitors is on over half the day, and the server runs with
its monitors turned off all of the time. Thus volunteering on the
internet and maintaining computers in a small public housing apartment with
energy efficient lights is not cheap. However, since I am legally
disabled I have to keep busy at some sort of activity, since I have seen most of
what is regularly on television, and politics never changes just the hair
styles. CIO

1:35 A.M.: Let us not forget. I
chatted with a relative. I threw out some garbage, and I picked up
my mail. I got a letter from the state of Connecticut that my Social
Security SSI is being raised from $603 a month to $623 a month, and my Food
Stamps are being lowered from $122 a month to $113 a month for a net monthly
increase of $11 a month, which $603 plus $122 equals $725 divided by $11 is
65.90 divided into a 100 means a $1.52% cost of living increase this year.
Obviously the United States government is cooking the books as far as the COST
OF LIVING INCREASE or COLA for individuals on fixed income, because anyone whom
has been in a store in the past year would know just about everything has gone
up in price a lot more including 10 pound bags of rice. Of course
the real story might be with over 60 million or more people dependant on them
for some sort of income, they just really do not have the money anymore, but it
seems strange they can spend so much money on the military. I made
up a batch of
Michael Louis
Scott's Microwave Oven Rice Recipe , and I also used chicken bullion powder
and Old Bay seasoning. At the same time I microwaved the rice, and I
also put an inch of water in a Revere two quart pot with lid and steamer tray,
and I steamed 1.5 cups of broccoli crowns and baby carrots. I also
sliced one half of a medium onion into 1/4 inch thick slices, and I put a few
tablespoons of olive oil in an eight inch frying pan on medium high
electric burner heat with two peeled and minced cloves of garlic, and once the
oil was hot, I put in one of the boneless center cut pork chops with the onions,
and I seasoned them several times on both sides for the pork with garlic powder,
ground black pepper, and Italian seasoning. I cooked the pork for
about 3.5 minutes a side all together flipping it frequently and stirring the
onions, and for the last half of the cooking cycle, I put in about 1/6 of a Cup
of Rene Junot French white table wine, so by the time it was totally cooked most
of it except a small amount had evaporated. I put the steamed
vegetables in a large bowl with a little bit of olive oil, and I put half of the
rice on a dinner plate, and I put the other half in a Rubbermaid container in
the refrigerator, and I put the pork on the dinner plate with the onions on top
of it along with the remaining liquid, and I seasoned the pork and onions with a
couple tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese. I ate it all with a
glass of iced tea. I put the remaining three uncooked boneless
center cuts pork medallions in a Rubbermaid container. Each one is
about 6 ounces. I will now go through my email. CIO

oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee. I went back
to bed until 8 P.M. I chatted with a relative and a friend.
I moved the PC 3200 512 meg. memory chip from the Epox backup computer to the
server, so the Epox only has the 512 meg. 266 MHz memory. The server
now just has the PC 3200 512 meg. memory. I moved the PC 3200 512
meg. memory that was in the server to the matching memory in the primary
computer, so the primary computer now has 2 gigabytes of memory which Vista
seems to work better with. The three computers seem to be running
just fine. I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made my bed.

The MSM is white sulphur which is an anti inflammatory, but it can give one gas.
The Chondrotin Sulfate and Glucosomine helps build new cartilage in the joints.

which I already have installed in the primary computer, which was only $54 last
July 2006, so memory has gone up. Alas I can not afford more memory
for the systems now. If I put a new gigabyte memory strip in, I would take
the other half gigabyte memory strip out and put it in the server, so the server
would have a gigabyte of memory, and the primary computer would have 2 gigabytes
of memory. I need to use 2.5 volt memory with the primary computer
Gigabyte motherboard. Alas I do not feel like going into debt buying
memory, and I also still need to pay by the first of the year my state of
Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles Connecticut license plate registration
which will be $80, so more than likely I will not be buying anymore memory soon,
unless I should get lucky on a scratch card which is highly unlikely.
I also once it is release will probably be buying Norton Internet Security 2007

Microsoft was generous enough to give me a full version copy of Vista Ultimate

Instead of using two sliced hotdogs, I took three strips of bacon, and I cut
them into 1.5 inch lengths, and I spread them on a microwave proof plate with
three sheets of paper towels and two more on top of them, and then I put a
microwave plate cover on top of the plate with the bacon, and I microwaved it
for 3.5 minutes. I then used a 16 ounce can of maple flavor Bush's
baked beans in the mixture with the bacon and onion and other seasoning.
Once the mixture was cooked on two vegetable cycles in the microwave proof pot
with lid in the microwave oven, I put the bean mixture in a large Cobalt blue
soup bowl, and I sprinkled some parsley on top of it. I ate it
with a glass of iced tea. I threw out the garbage. One should throw
out the bacon grease paper towels right away, since they tend to stink if one

they have already taken the old Christmas lights out of them. CIO

10:35 P.M.: I went out after the last
message. I went by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York
on Greenwich Avenue. I suggested to a bald fellow that he should
wear a knit cap, since one can lose 50% of their body heat through one's head
without a warm knit cap. Since as usual for this time of year, I
have a lot of hair, I do not need a knit cap. I next sat out briefly
downtown by the veterans monument. They have the Christmas lights
installed on the tree just north of the veterans monument left over from last
year, but they still have not run an extension cord from the tree to the plug at
the base of the north street light at veterans monument to light up that tree.
I suppose some veteran should use some ingenuity and a ladder if they can find
the plug in the tree. I should check the lights in front of our building,
but they were just about burned out last year by the time the season was over,
but maybe some of them might still work. That will have to be a
future project for me to check on. We can not afford to string new
lights. I then drove down by the waterfront, and there was one
lonely fisherman checking out the conditions. I then went by the
Stop and Shop, and I bought a six pack of Thomas' bagels for $2.50, four 10
ounce bars of Stop and Shop Vermont cheddar cheese for $2 each, three 59 ounce
containers of Tropicana orange juice with calcium in the carafe for $2.50 each
and one regular for $2.50. a 1.75 quart container of Edy's sugar

Stop and Shop lite grape juice from concentrate for $2.50 each, two 20 ounce
cans of Stop and Shop sliced pineapple for a dollar each, a gallon of Stop and
Shop white distilled vinegar for $3.49, a 5 ounce bottle of McIlhenny Tabasco
pepper sauce for $3.19, a package of four boneless center cut pork chops at
$3.49 a pound for $4.43, a 2 pound bag of baby carrots for $2.99, a 3 pound bag

at .54 a pound for $1.54, broccoli crowns at $1.29 a pound for $1.69 for $80.59
total. I then returned home, and I used my folding cart that I
brought in the car with me, and I brought up my purchases which must have
weighed over 50 pounds from the weight of the cart. I put my
purchases away. I chatted with a relative. I think
tonight is the night they light the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.
The temperature in my apartment living room had dropped to below 70 degrees
Fahrenheit, so I set the living room thermostat at 78 degrees Fahrenheit, and I
turned on the Lasko box fan on the window shelf to circulate the heat around the
apartment. I have already checked the cables near the electric
radiators to make sure none of them were near them. I also set the
bedroom thermostat at 65 degrees Fahrenheit. I do not turn on the
electric heat in the bathroom since it uses too much electricity.
Setting the living room thermostat at 78 degrees Fahrenheit tends to keep the
primary area in the apartment between 70 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit, but the
bedroom which I only use for sleeping is usually cooler, and I have a comforter
and electric blanket on the bed. CIO

3:50 A.M.: I moved the two DeLonghi oil
filled radiators from the bedroom into the living room area. I put
one behind the down filled sofa by the French reproduction antique chair and
another just as one enters the bedroom hallway on the other side of the French
reproduction antique chair. They are plugged in and ready to use on
colder winter days. That is really the only location I have to set
them up. I put one of the folding oak tables that was behind the
bedroom door to the right of the bedroom desk with the Epson Stylus 900 printer
on it. The Epson Stylus 900 printer needs a new color cartridge
which I have, but I have not installed it, since I never use it. I
sorted out the paid bills and other mailings that I had placed on top of the
Epson Stylus 900 printer. I still have the other three folding oak
tables, but at the moment I can not recall where I put them. I think
they might be underneath the bed. I straighter up some smaller areas
around the apartment. I ran a test copy on the HP Photosmart 1000
printer and the HP 842C printer to make sure their ink was still good, and they
work just fine. I ran a test cycle on the Epson Stylus Color 880 printer a
few days ago. I still have spare ink cartridges behind left primary
computer monitor on the wicker rack for some of the printers, plus I have
Polaroid ink refill kits. However, I do not print out much color anymore.
I do not have a working black ink cartridge in the Sharp fax machine, but I
never receive faxes. I can send one for free though with Optimum
Voice. All of the laser toner cartridges are fine in all of the
laser printers. Thus when one finishes maintaining the computers,
one has other activities that one can perform. I turn on the
Christmas tree lights for a few hours every day. I am doing just
fine, and I am just relaxing more and keeping busy with domestic activity after
a rather busy period of computer maintenance for the last few months.

I decided it was too meager of an existence, so I flew over to Frankfurt,
Germany just before Christmas 1980, and I toured around for a few days, but
nobody paid any attention to me. A couple of winters later when I
went down to Key West, Florida in February 1982 when it was 26 degrees below
zero Fahrenheit in Manhattan after the German family had kicked me out of the
apartment in the frigid cold in Manhattan, I ran into a cheese salesman that
looked like Adolph Hitler whom owned Fennimore Cheese now
Fine Wisconsin Cheese from Carr
Valley Cheese Inc. - La Valle, Wisconsin , and he was drinking Vodka on the
rocks at the Monster disco, and he seemed to know whom I was since people from
Wisconsin tend to know people from Illinois. Thus from what I can tell I
have a few distant social contacts out there in the wood work, whom do not
bother with Greenwich, Connecticut because it tends to be over priced for what
it offers. Locally here in my building at 71 Vinci Drive, they
are no longer running the electric heaters in the stair wells, and the hallways
in the building tend to be a bit cold. Hopefully it will not get
cold enough in any of those locations for the pipes to freeze in the winter
which would be an additional expense. The local Jewish community is
busy driving their new Mercedes Benz cars, so I do not think they are hostile
towards Germans, since they buy their product. Whatever the real story,
they do not like me because I look like I am a German, since my mother's family
immigrated to America in 1842 from a Dutch town on the German border near
Hanover, Germany. However, my father's family have been here for 400
years, so more than likely I also have my father's family's look, but alas since
I do not speak German, there is very little chance of figuring out a way to make
some money off of them.

its birth at the pier on the west of Manhattan again tomorrow. They
did a bit of dredging around the propellers to free it up, and I guess it is now
full moon and high tide again, so hopefully they will be able to move it to
restore it for the war effort. They are going to spend $60 million
to outfit it for the ongoing war effort, but if that is all we have in reserve
in this country, we are pretty much opened for invasion for anyone that can
manage to make it over here. I took a Red Baron 14.75 ounce four
cheese deep dish pizza, and I cut it into four even pieces, and I put it on a
baking sheet, and I seasoned it with oregano, Italian seasoning, garlic powder,
and ground black pepper. I then put on a couple tablespoons of
grated parmesan cheese on each slice, and I baked it in the Farberware

to buy a small bottle of "certo" at the grocery store. "Certo" is used as
a preservative in canning, and to mix a teaspoon of certo in a 8 ounce glass of
real grape juice, and it is suppose to help with arthritis. I will

primary activity is working with computers, there is no point being downtown
with a lot of women shopping for dresses. At this location I am two
miles closer to
www.ibm.com in Armonk than
Greenwich Avenue, but not necessarily much closer as the Crow flies.
However, in this area the roads do not run very straight. The most
direct route to IBM in Armonk in this area from my location is to go west on
U.S. 1 from the intersection with Western Junior High for about a half mile, and
then go north up King Street on the New York - Connecticut border, and then turn
left at the Westchester County airport and then turn right north, and follow the
road around until you arrive on the road that parallels I-684, and go right or
east and you should see a sign in about two miles that says
www.ibm.com . IBM because it is the
superpower in the computer business has lots of security and the Flying
Milk truck is the big white helicopter that probably flies in out of the north
country. They also have a company jet at Westchester Airport, so
they tend to travel quite a bit out of the area coming and going in their
business. As far as I can tell, they do not pay much attention to
what goes on in Greenwich, Connecticut anymore, since the Watson family is no
longer around. Of course there are other established groups in the
area, but with rich people time is money, so nobody ever bothers me, since it is
not worth their time or money. However, many of my wealthier friends
are always bothered by people trying to get ahead in business without really
trying, so I am not sure what the actual status quo is in the area as far as the

12:25 A.M.: I finished the two
external backups without any problems. I guess the PNY memory works
all right in the Epox computer. However, I am not able to copy files from
the server to the Epox computer for some odd reason. I will look
into it later. The Epox computer could possibly serve as a backup
server if I should need to use it, plus it is good for regular computer and
internet use. Like all of my computers, I do not have much software
on them, since I was never able to afford to buy much software, but they work
fine with the internet, which is a lot of information if you know where to look
http://mikelouisscott.com/scotlist.htm and
http://geocities.com/mikelscott/scotlist.htm . Obviously I have
looked at a lot of information on the internet over the years. I
will now send out my weekly notes, and then I will do a little bit of regular
internet and computer work. Earlier I went through my email. I can
do some bottom fishing on the internet, but I really can not afford to buy
anything. A relative is sending me a surprise Christmas gift, and

11:10 P.M.: The Velcro on the upper light
bar of the Epox computer came lose from its adhesive because of the heat at the
back end of the upper case by the power supply. I secured both ends
of the light bar with two medium size pink paper clips that I formed bent around
the end of the tubes sliding part of the paper clip into the small slots of the
case cover slider rail. However, the case cover now does not close
all of the way by about 1/8th of an inch, but at least the upper light bar will
now fall off inside the case. It seems recently that I have been
spending a lot more time maintaining the computer than actually using them,
which is not usually the case. However, I guess you could call this
a yearly tune up that takes a month or so. It is the nature of the home
brew computer business. Imagine if we built our own cars.
I still have to do the external backup of the Epox computer that should be a
good enough test for the possibly faulty PNY memory installed in it.
I have a half hour to go on the backup for the server. It is taking
a little bit of extra time, because I do not think I set the external drive
"performance" setting. I am beginning to think I should try to do my
house cleaning in the middle of the week, because the weekends seem to be rather
busy with computer maintenance. So maybe I will switch from Friday
to Wednesday house cleaning. I still have my rent to pay tomorrow.
Also I have to pay my $80 bill for my Connecticut automobile registration coming
up in January 2007. At least I have not been wasting my time bird
watching at Tod's Point, but it really is an enjoyable walk around Tod's Point
except for the time about six years ago in late May when somebody took a long
range rifle shot at me the same day current President Bush

thought I was Donald Trump

10:35 P.M.: I chatted with a

I reheated on two microwave oven vegetable cycles the left over baked breaded
boneless breast of chicken, steamed white rice, and steamed frozen spinach in
their Rubbermaid containers, and I put a little bit of olive oil on the spinach,
which I put in a bowl, and I put the chicken and rice on a dinner plate, and I
ate it all with a glass of iced tea. The external backup from the server
failed twice, and I finally figured out it was caused by the PNY 512 meg. DDR
3200 memory chip that I had rotated earlier. I transferred it out
into the Epox computer, and now the Epox computer has 1 gigabyte of memory, and
the server has 512 megs. of memory. I started the external backup
from the server again. For now the server should be fine enough with
512 megs. of memory. The PNY memory is guaranteed for life, but on
memory tests it tested all right, so maybe it is just not compatible with the
server. I will see how it performs on the Epox before I think about
using the life time warranty. I got it at
www.compusa.com on sale for $50 and tax a
year ago. I put a medium size plate between the small miniature Christmas
tree base and the teak stand, so it is now more stable. CIO

8:25 P.M.: I woke up at noon. I
got dressed up, and I went over to Staples in Old Greenwich. I drove
from exit 2 to exit 5 on I-95 East to put a little high speed activity on my car
after driving locally so much. I bought
Staples® slim jewel cases, 100/pack for $14.98 and a
Staples Circular Savings Maxtor® 160GB internal hard drive for $59.98 and
$4.50 tax for $79.46 total. I then returned home on U.S. 1 west.
I took out the old Maxtor 160 gigabyte hard drive from my first hard drive in
the server, and I installed the new Maxtor 160 gigabyte hard drive as the first
hard drive on the server. However, the new hard drive is slightly
smaller, so my Vista Complete PC backup and XP Pro ASR backups would not work
for restoring. I think that is the case with all new hard drives that they
are slightly smaller in space than their earlier versions, so if one needs to
restore a backup, one should get a slightly larger hard drive. I
have a work around for this. I first install XP, and then I activate
it. I then install XP SP2 from the CD that I have, and I then
reboot. I then restore my ASR backup file from the second hard drive
to the first hard drive. I chose the Advanced restore options to
restore to the original location and to overwrite all files and I used the
default Advanced settings in Restore other options. After one restores the
files, one is prompted to reboot, and one has one's system reinstalled on the
slightly smaller hard drive. Before installing XP, I also disabled
my SATA drive in the CMOS, because XP install does not seem to recognize SATA
drives properly, and one could mistakenly delete the partition or format them,
and if that is where your backup is unless one has an external backup, one would
be in a bit of trouble. I also used the Vista DVD to partition my
new Maxtor 160 gigabyte hard drive to the full size and format it.
Obviously Vista beta 2 RC 2 build 5744 is no longer in a second partition on the
server, but I do not need it anymore. In uninstalling Vista Betas
with dual boot XP, one could chose the more traditional way to delete or format
the partition that it is in. However, that also keeps the XP
partition from booting, so one has to boot the XP CD, and chose System Recovery
and the small program to restore the boot manager. Thus I have the
XP Pro partition on my new Maxtor 160 gigabyte hard drive using its full amount
of space. I am now backing up the new Maxtor first hard drive with
XP Pro ASR to the second hard drive, and then I will then do a ASR backup to the
Bytecc external hard drive. I took the old 20 gigabyte hard drive
out of the Epox backup computer, and I installed the old Maxtor 160 gigabyte
hard drive on it as the first hard drive. I was not able to get it
to recognize the maximum XP partition, so I use the default XP partition of 137
gigabytes, and I went through the same procedure to install and restore the XP
system on it, since I had the XP ASR backup on the second smaller hard drive.
I am now doing a XP Pro ASR backup on it to. I will then to a backup
of the first hard drive to the Bytecc external hard drive. I chatted
with a relative. I put the new box of 100 slim jewel cases
underneath the dining table just to the left of the primary computer CPU.

I installed the latest Leadtek TV card drivers and viewer program on the XP

11:30 A.M.: I was awake at 10 A.M..
I paid my bills online for
www.cl-p.com ,
www.geico.com ,
www.cablevision.com ,
www.verizon.com . I also paid
my
www.newegg.com bill for the Leadtek TV
card. I also ordered from
www.ordersmokesdirect.com 7 cartons of New York Seneca Ultra Light 100s in a
box for $12.49 a carton and $14.46 shipping for $101.89. I still
have to pay my rent to the Greenwich Housing Authority. Basically my
routine after paying my bills is Greenwich, Connecticut on $10 a day.

4:15 A.M.: After I went through my email, I
ate three scoops of coffee ice cream. I took an a Y splitter
off the sound card of the bedroom Dell L1000R computer disconnecting the headset
and leaving the speaker connected. I use the Y splitter to hook up
the Panasonic headset to the second Creative Audigy Epox speaker jack on the
Server. One has to have the speaker setting to four speakers and not
headset since it is on the second speaker jack. I tried tweaking the
Nvidia colors on the server, and I finally restored the defaults.
One can tweak either the desktop color or the video colors. They
look just fine with the defaults. I set both Dell 990 monitors on the
server to brightness and contrast at 70. I will now shut down the
primary computer, and I will go to bed soon. I do not think I will
bother with house cleaning today, since the apartment is relatively clean.
However, I will throw out the garbage and water the plants. Have a
good day. CIO
