07/26/24 Friday 10:20 P.M.  When I helped move Helen Kress Williams in January 1975 when it was zero degrees Fahrenheit at night with a U Haul trailer from her small gate house on her 40 acre estate on the waterfront in Oyster Bay, Long Island with the help of Fred Von Mierers and George Nichols an assistant editor of the New York Times, I asked her what was the purpose of the cement pineapples on her brick gate entrances was, and she told me it was the Christian Symbol of Hospitality.  I know one of her neighbors was the Teddy Roosevelt family in Oyster Bay at Sagamore Hill which is now a National Park since the Roosevelt can not afford to maintain it anymore, but another neighbor now diseased was Abby Rockefeller Oneil who lived nearby, so she probably knew some people with a little bit of money.  Helen moved to a rental house next to the fire house in Locust Valley, Long Island.  For three days of moving and setting up her new house, I recall she took us to the Winter Club in Oyster Bay for Sunday dinner.  When I came back out to Greenwich, I was arrested on the Penn Central Railroad for not having money for a $2.15 one way train ticket, but  the next morning when I was released from the Mount Vernon or Yonkers or one of those places on the railroad jail, the headlines in the New York tabloid was the Penn Central Railroad was broke.  I recall about that time I had also stayed with my friend from East Aurora, New York at his aunt's apartment on East 72nd Street who was W. Averill Harriman's sister.  That night I recall when I was arrested, I did not make it to the Victorian Society Party in Grammercy Park where I had been invited by Kip Forbes.  As I recall the following night, when I got out of jail, I threw a party for about a thousand people in a loft on West 57 Street above an Oldsmobile garage across from the C.B.S. Broadcast building where I had worked.  I drove in with my mother and youngest sister and we stopped by to visit Fred Von Mierers at 420 East 49th Street, but he was too busy to attend the party, but we did pick up Helen Kress Williams at East 67th Street near the Austrian consulate and take her to and dropped off after the party.  The party was $5 a head with all the liquor one could drink.  It was during a blizzard, and I met the Emperor of Japan's grandson whom told me he was a concert pianist.  There were a lot of young people there looking at the Aquarium decorations and one heck of a lot of security. The two men that organized the party one of whom had a father that was a Medal of Honor winner used Henry Ford's name to attract guests, but I do not know if he was actually there or not.  After that I quit going to Manhattan for a long time, until I returned to this area on July 3, 1976 for the Bicentennial Celebrations with the Tall Ships which I attended standing in front of the large crowd in Battery Park.  People from Greenwich helped organize it.  I met somebody from Newport, Rhode Island that evening on July 4, 1976, and he told me his family owned McCormick spices.  That morning when I was walking up Third Avenue in my only suit which was wool, I was directed into Bloomingdale's Department store, and I saw Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip arrive in Bentley sedan with sun roof waving to the crowd.  They toured the store for about a half hour, and I was part of the reception line.  When I came back out to Greenwich, nobody believed me.  However, the following day the Royal Entourage sailed by Greenwich on the Royal Yacht Britannia on its way to New Haven, but nobody was downtown in Greenwich except the old Golden retriever waiting for food in front of the deli on upper Greenwich Avenue.  I then ventured up to Nantucket for about a week and then returned to Greenwich until after having tried to go to graduate school at Yale that fall before at the Nelson Rockefeller and Henry Ford graduate school of business and politics the previous year, I knew better.  However, despite the festivities the local area was in economic recession, so I started driving down to Florida to work at NASA on computers at Cape Canaveral,  but it was too cold in Merritt Island, so I kept driving to Fort Lauderdale, but there was no work, and it took six months for my unemployment checks from Daniel Construction in Greenville, South Carolina to come through, when I finally ended up in Key West having gone from 185 pounds in Greenville to 125 pounds in Key West, when Jimmy Eldert showed up with a lot of friends in January 1977.  I guess when administrations change, a lot of people are left holding the bag so to speak.

07/26/24 Friday 8:40 P.M.  I chatted with a relative.  I took a extension cord from the bedroom, and I hooked up the K cup machine on top of the Glacier five gallon water dispenser in the kitchen.  Although, I do not used the K cup machine too much anymore, I still have regular coffee and decaf coffee  K cups and also tea K cups.  I moved the Ducks Unlimited picture from the left side of the hallway at the bathroom entrance to the outside wall in the bedroom.  From there, I moved the Audubon Louisiana Heron print to the hallway on the left side of the bathroom entrance.

I will now go outside and drink an instant coffee. 

07/26/24 Friday 6:25 P.M.  I moved the bent pine chair behind the octagon end table at the apartment entrance to the northwest corner of the living room in front of the laptop setup on the left side of the Samsung television.  To that I moved the Harvard chair to the left.  I moved the Danish cherry square end table from the sitting area to behind the octagon end table at the apartment entrance.  I put the Boston Acoustics sound bar on it.  Thus on the square end table with the LG monitor and TV for the mini computer setup behind the Ethan Allen recliner, there is more room for the wireless keyboards and mice pads with the wireless mice.  Also with out the Danish square cherry wood end table in the sitting area, there is more room for stretching out one's feet.

At the bottom of Greenwich Avenue, if one goes left or east about two blocks, there is what remains of the old Manero's steak house now called Greenwich Prime Meats where a steak sandwich on garlic roll with fried onions is about $25 according to a bed fed neighbor.

07/26/24 Friday 4:50 P.M.  I moved the bent pine chair from the kitchen to in between the two portable air conditioners in the bedroom.  I moved one Rubbermaid hamper on top of the other in the northwest corner of the bedroom.  I moved the Glacier five gallon water dispenser from the kitchen entrance to the left rear of the kitchen with K cup machine on top of it.  I will plug in the K cup machine, when the extension cords come tomorrow.  The kitchen entrance is now wide open.

07/26/24 Friday 3:35 P.M.  I went out to the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop, and I toured around.  The have a heavy Ethan Allen end table there for $50 and another heavy end table for $50.  They also have a big oil portrait of some once famous person.  I then returned home.

I moved the Dell 17.3 inch laptop from the right side of the Queen Anne chair to the left side of the teak dining table with the Microsoft Surface RT behind it.  From the right side of the Queen Anne chair,  I moved the new square end table to the LG monitor TV  mini computer setup behind the Ethan Allen recliner.  From there, I moved the black piano bench with new blue cushions back in front of the white bureau on the left side of the hallway entrance.  I put two new red and white cushions on the bent pine chair in the kitchen and at the apartment entrance.  I also moved the Queen Anne chair and the dark oak table on its left about a foot to the left.

07/26/24 Friday 11:55 A.M.   I went downtown to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue.  I bought four Folgers instant coffee for $5.99 each for $23.96 total.  I then drove down to the Senior and the Arts Center, and I sat out for a while.  I used the bathroom there.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and all of their deli department is closed by some sort of government order.  I bought a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.59, six 20 ounce cans of Stop and Shop pineapple chunks with juice for $1.69 each, a 64 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $5.99 and a 59 ounce Florida Natural grapefruit juice for $2.50 for $20.22 total.  I then returned home.  I put away my groceries.  I put the grey bag back in the car.  I drank an instant coffee outside. 

The order with tracking of Track Package (amazon.com) for two Amazon.com: Power Gear Coiled Telephone Cord, 4 Feet Coiled, 25 Feet Uncoiled, Phone Cord works with All Corded Landline Phones, For Use in Home or Office, Black, 76139 : Electronics for $7.22 total arrived.  I put one new one on the new AT&T two line telephone in the bathroom, and another new one on the AT&T two line telephone on the desk, and from there I moved an older one to the Panasonic two line telephone in the bedroom.  I moved the square Danish cherry end table to the sitting area in the living room, and I moved the bent pine chair from the bedroom to behind the octagon end table at the apartment entrance area.  I moved the Rubbermaid hamper between the two portable air conditioners in the bedroom.  I moved the Map of Magellan lamp to the left side of the dark oak bookcase in the bedroom.

07/26/24 Friday 8:00 A.M.  I will now go downtown to Green Witch Avenue to see if there are any tourists around to exploit.  The opening of the Summer Olympics is on N.B.C. at 1:30 EDT this afternoon.  Advertising on it is extremely expensive.

07/25/24 Thursday 8:45 P.M.  I channel surfed.  I will now shut down the laptop computer.  I will then go to bed.

07/25/24 Thursday 7:55 P.M.  I rested until 7 P.M.  I went outside.

I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of ham with six slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice  and a 15 ounce can of corn with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.

I will now go outside.

It is exactly ten months, I have been working on remodeling my situation room apartment.  I think I have finally gotten it the way I like it, but nobody ever visits, since I am usually on a night schedule, and most people out here in the woods are usually on a daytime schedule.  Also most of my neighbors like to be private, so I do not want to disturb them too much.

07/25/24 Thursday 11:10 A.M.  I went outside briefly at 4 A.M.  I finally woke up at 9 A.M.  I made my bed.  I went outside.  I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice and vitamins and supplements, and an instant coffee outside. 

I took the U.S.A. flag down from the bedroom wall, and I stored it away in the top drawer of the white bureau in the living room.  I then moved the dark pine bookcase from the outside wall in the bedroom to the wall on the left side of the bedroom.  That way the electric radiators on the outside wall won't be blocked in the colder weather.  I moved the square Danish cherry end table in the bedroom to behind the octagon table in the living room.  I moved the bent pine chair from the bedroom computer setup to the left side of the kitchen.  From there, I moved the folding mahogany chair to the bedroom computer setup.

07/25/24 Thursday 2:00 A.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of ham with six slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice  and a 15 ounce can of corn with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.

I will now shut down the HP laptop, and I will go to bed.

07/25/24 Thursday 12:25 A.M.  I took an older long handset cable, and I put it on the new bathroom AT&T two line telephone, so it is long enough to talk from the throne.  I will replace it with a new one this Friday.  It is not as clear as it should be.  On the Apple Mac Mini on the LG TV Monitor setup behind the Ethan Allen recliner, I installed the headset from the 17.3 inch Dell laptop to the left of the Samsung television. 

07/24/24 Wednesday 11:30 P.M.  I took the similar AT&T two line telephone off the bathroom wall which has a lot more telephone numbers, and I put it on the right side of the desk.  It also has a long handset cable.  I put the new AT&T two line telephone on the bathroom wall which has fewer numbers and until Friday has a shorter handset cable.

I will now go outside and drink an instant coffee.

07/24/24 Wednesday 6:25 P.M.  I put the new 14000 BTU portable air conditioner back in the living room, so it is now quieter.  I stored the old 14000 BTU portable LG air conditioner in the northwest corner of the bedroom.  The order with tracking of Tracking of Tracking | UPS - United States on the order for Logitech MK345 Wireless Combo (woot.com) for $21.26 total and the order with tracking of Tracking | UPS - United States on the order for AT&T ML17928 2-Line Speakerphone with Caller ID for sale online | eBay for $37.21 arrived.  I put the new AT&T two line telephone on the living room desk.  I moved the Panasonic two line telephone from there to the small brass and glass table on the right side of the bedroom computer setup.  I put the Logitech wireless keyboard and wireless mouse on the Lenovo Mini on the LG TV monitor setup behind the Ethan Allen recliner.

07/24/24 Wednesday 1:15 P.M.  I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.  I toured around.  They have a nice mahogany dining room table with chairs on display.  I then went downtown to the Senior and the Arts Center, and I sat out for a while.  I used the bathroom there.  I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com .  I bought a Sunny Money scratch card for a dollar at Zen Stationary, and as usual I lost to the Bank of Bombay.  I toured the www.apple.com store.  I sat out some more at the World War One monument.  I then went to www.mcdonalds.com at West Putnam Avenue, and I used the bathroom there, and I bought two double cheeseburgers and two small French fries for $8.78 total.  I then drove back to the Greenwich Common, and I had a picnic there, and I sat out for a while.  I then returned home.  I sat outside.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside and drink an instant coffee.

07/23/24 Tuesday 6:10 P.M.  I went out to my 3 P.M. appointment.  After my 3 P.M., I picked up a prescription at www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue.  I paid a dollar in quarters to park in the back parking lot, because they are repaving the sidewalk in front of CVS.  I then returned home.  I picked up the mail.  The order with tracking of Track Package (amazon.com) for Amazon.com : DEL MONTE Sweet Peas Canned Vegetables, 12 Pack, 15 oz Can : Grocery & Gourmet Food for $11.88 total and with tracking of Track Package (amazon.com) for two Amazon.com: Warrky Optical Audio Cable, 6ft / 1.8m Optical Cable for Soundbar [Nylon Braided, Slim Metal Case, Gold-Plated Plug], Digital Optical Audio Cable Compatible with Samsung, Vizio, LG, Bose, Sony, Sonos : Electronics for $17 total arrived.  I put the cans of sweet peas in the cabinet above the stove.  I put the new optical cables on the sound bars on the 24 inch LG television and the 32 inch Vizio television.  I threw out the shipping boxes.  I drank an instant coffee.  I filed this report.    

07/23/24 Tuesday 12:30 P.M.  I woke up at 10 A.M.  I chatted with my Renters Rebate social worker twice.  I faxed the 2023 Social Security Income statement to her at another fax number.  I made my bed.  I went outside.  I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice and vitamins and supplements, and an instant coffee outside.   I filed this report.  I will now shower and clean up.  I still have my 3 P.M. appointment today.

07/22/24 Monday 7:45 P.M.  I chatted with a friend before going to bed.  I woke up at 5:30 P.M.  I made my bed.  I went outside.  I picked up the mail.  The order for Amazon.com: Logitech C-U0007 Unifying Receiver for Mouse and Keyboard Works with Any Logitech Product That Display The Unifying Logo (Orange Star, Connects up to 6 Devices) (C-U0007) : Electronics for $11.90 arrived.  However, it did not work on my spare Logitech wireless keyboard, so it must be broken.  I got my 2023 income statement from the Social Security Administration, so I faxed it to Greenwich Human Services for my 2024 Renters Rebate.  I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice and vitamins and supplements, and an instant coffee outside.   I filed this report.  I will now go outside and drink an instant coffee.

I moved the 32 inch Vizio TV from the living room back to the bedroom setup.  I moved the 24 inch LG TV from the bedroom the mini computer TV setup behind the Ethan Allen recliner.

07/22/24 Monday 12:30 A.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six deli slices of ham with six slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of sweet peas with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.

I ordered Amazon.com : DEL MONTE Sweet Peas Canned Vegetables, 12 Pack, 15 oz Can : Grocery & Gourmet Food for $11.88 total.

07/21/24 Sunday 11:15 P.M.  I went out to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought two six packs of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.59 each six pack, a package of Mission spinach wraps for $4.69, a 12 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $16.99, a package of deli sliced ham for $3.99 a pound for $4.01, and a package of deli sliced white American cheese for $3.99 a pound for $3.99 for $32.86 total.  I then returned home.  I put away the groceries.  I put the grey bag back in the car.  I sat outside.  I filed this report.

I moved the folding mahogany chair from the left side of the bed into the left side of the kitchen with an old blue cushion.  From there, I moved the folding beach chair to the rear section of the Volvo wagon.  I then moved the Apple Macbook Pro from in front of the red leather Chesterfield chair back on top of the Dell 17.3 inch laptop on the left side of the Samsung television.  I then moved the Danish cherry square end table from in front of the red leather Chesterfield chair to the left side of the mahogany bureau in the bedroom.  I then moved the cranberry ottoman from in front of the Queen Anne chair to in front of the red leather Chesterfield chair.  I then pulled the black piano bench with the 32 inch Vizio TV setup with the mini computers forward about fifteen inches.  To now use the mini computers in the setup, one can use one of the bent pine chairs from the teak dining table.  Now the Ethan Allen recliner can fully recline, if one needs to take a nap or sleep in it.

07/20/24 Saturday 11:00 P.M.  I moved the black piano bench from in front of the white bureau in the living room to behind the Ethan Allen recliner supporting the Vizio 32 inch TV and mini computer setup.  From there I moved the new computer end table to the left side of the bedroom entrance supporting the bedroom 24 inch LG smart TV and monitor mini computer setup.  I put one of the black piano bench cushions on the beach chair in the northwest corner of the living room and the other one on the bent pine chair at the bedroom computer setup.

07/20/24 Saturday 9:55 P.M.  I went out to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought the second to the last five gallon bottle of Poland Spring water for $9.99 with bottle return.  I then returned home.  I used my little folding cart from the car to bring up the 42 pound bottle of water, and I stored it underneath the left side of the teak dining table.  I then put the folding cart back in the car, and I sat outside.

07/20/24 Saturday 6:20 A.M.  From the right side of the red leather Chesterfield chair, I moved the small brass and glass table to the right side of the bedroom computer setup to hold the new two line AT&T telephone, when it arrives.  From there I moved the small round end table to the right side of the red leather Chesterfield chair where it holds the AT&T two line telephone with answering machine and personal address book.  Also from the bathroom hallway entrance, I moved the Map of Magellan print to the wall on the right side of the Samsung television, and from there I moved the Ducks Unlimited Print to the left side of the hallway at the bathroom entrance.

07/20/24 Saturday 5:20 A.M.  I moved the white bureau from the bedroom entrance to the right side of the Samsung television in the living room.  From there, I moved the dark pine book case to the right side of the bedroom window.  I moved the LG 7000 BTU portable air conditioner to the left underneath the bedroom window.  From underneath the bedroom window, I moved the Lenovo mini computer setup with the LG 24 inch television monitor and the cable box on two folding oak TV tables where the white bureau was at the bedroom entrance.  Thus one can not watch the LG 24 inch television from bed.

It seems to be a full moon tonight.  This internet activity of mine which started back around 1992 after buying and Apple computer in September 1989 involved the local Greenwich Astronomy club, since the original computer BBS telephone modem web site was in Old Greenwich with lots of shareware on astronomy.  When I had my first welfare apartment back in Greenwich in December 1983 at 100 Milbank Avenue, it was across the street from the local observatory which the astronomy club probably still uses on clear night.  Still the best night sky I have ever seen was in Lanzarote in the Canary Islands off the west coast of Morocco in February 1972 where there is not too much pollution or interfering night lights.

I will now go outside and drink and instant coffee.

07/19/24 Friday 4:05 A.M.  When one lives way out in the middle of nowhere out on www.nantucket.net , one gets use to sitting out and doing nothing, when one is not working all of the time.  When I lived on Nantucket, they did have a Radio Shack.  I think around October 1978, when I bought the $150 Subaru that I drove across country and back four times, at the same time I bought a waterproof floating Panasonic radio at the Nantucket Radio Shack for $40.  On my first trip back East, I traded it for a replacement windshield at a salvage yard in Fort Lauderdale, where there were a number of old Subarus, since they first tested them in America at a race track in Fort Lauderdale.  However, my Subaru came from Dillon, Colorado, and it had a Polaroid sticker on it, so it was familiar with colder weather.  When one give up traveling in America, nobody has any interest in one, because most Americans seem to like traveling all of the time since we have a vast transportation network to meet their needs.  In my youth at various locations in Connecticut, I would see lots of travelers at the Darien rest areas, but like all late night travelers, they would like lost Zombies.  I guess once they make it through the New York City Metropolitan area, they need a break to try to regain reality.  I suppose for the people heading South, they need a pit stop before the heavy traffic on the way South through this metropolis.  I have not visited Manhattan in about 25 years or Long Island in about 26 years, so my view point is that of a rustic New Englander living here at the gateway to New England.  I once thought to make more money in New England at this point, we could give New England back to Canada, and then we could make a fortune on Duty Free Liquor and other commodities at this location.  However, those old cheap Yankees in Boston have so much money hoarded away from what I know about Economics, they must be doing something up there to make a lot of money, which the fast talking New Yorkers have not yet figured out yet.  I know they like riding the Amtrak back and forth from Boston to Washington D.C., so maybe they are making money off the Government some way based on their experience.

07/19/24 Friday 2:50 A.M.  I did some more Mickey Magic.  From the Samsung television, I moved the Lenovo Mini setup to the Vizio television setup.  I am using the keyboard and Microsoft headset from the Apple Mac Mini on it which is still connected to the Vizio television.  I have the Lenovo Mini connected to the LAN with the 25 foot LAN cable that I had used on the Apple MacBook Pro.  I also have a Microsoft webcam on it.  I am updating it right now.  It is configured with an earlier Microsoft Windows 12 Canary beta.  It also has Microsoft Office 2019 on it.  From the Vizio television setup, I moved the Amazon Cube to the Samsung television working off the apartment wireless.  I set it up for the Samsung television.

I am now going outside to drink an instant coffee.

07/19/24 Friday 1:35 A.M.  I put the new recertified LG 14000 BTU portable air conditioner in the northwest corner of the bedroom, and from there I set up the two year old LG 7000 BTU portable air conditioner in the bedroom which is all the bedroom really needs.  The current 14000 BTU LG air conditioner in the living room is three or more year old, and it was bought off Ebay refurbished for about $300, and it seems to be working just fine for now.  In the colder weather, I do not need the bedroom computer setup in the smaller cooler bedroom like now, but we probably still have some hot days ahead, since it is even not August yet.  Once it gets cold again, I could setup the new 24 inch LG television on the white bureau in the bedroom, and store the Lenovo Mini computer setup away.

On the bedroom computer setup, I turned the folding TV tables it sits on lengthwise, so there is more work space.

I took off the Apple Mac Mini setup from the Samsung television, and I hooked it up to the Vizio TV setup behind the Ethan Allen recliner.  To connect it to the LAN, I took the LAN cable off the Ocean Digital internet radio, but it still works off the wireless.  I also moved the better Microsoft headset from the HP laptop to the Apple Mac Mini, and I put a regular USB headset on the HP laptop.  I also used part of the spare 25 LAN cable coiled up to hook up the Apple Macbook Pro to the LAN.

07/17/24 Wednesday 10:10 P.M.  I went out to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  I bought a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.59, two 48 ounce Ocean Spray diet cranberry juice for $3.69 each, a 64 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $5.99, deli sliced ham for $4.99 a pound for $5.91, and deli sliced white American cheese for $5.99 a pound for $6.14 for $27.01 total.  I then returned home.  I put the groceries away.  I put the grey bag back in the car.  I drank an instant coffee outside.  I ordered Amazon.com : Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise, Gluten Free, Made with 100% Cage-Free Eggs, 30 Fl Oz, Pack of 3 : Grocery & Gourmet Food for $14.64 total of my State of Connecticut EBT Food Stamps card.  I will now go outside again.  I will then work on the cooler bedroom computer setup.

07/17/24 Wednesday 8:30 P.M.  I rested until 7:30 P.M.  I went outside, and I drank a brewed coffee.

I took the new computer table out of the bedroom, and I put it behind the Ethan Allen recliner with the Vizio 32 inch TV setup on it.

I put the bedroom computer setup on two folding oak TV tables.

I moved the Amazon microwave oven on top of the refrigerator.

07/17/24 Wednesday 5:00 P.M.  I woke up at 2:30 P.M.  I made my bed.  I went outside.  I picked up the mail.  The order with tracking of USPS.com® - USPS Tracking® Results for ten cans of Amazon.com : Amazon Fresh, Canned Whole Kernel Corn, 15.25 Oz : Everything Else  for $10.70 total off my State of Connecticut EBT Food Stamps card arrived.  The order with tracking of  USPS.com® - USPS Tracking® Results  on the order for 2002-2014 Volvo Upper Cover 8645259 | TascaParts.com for $26.72 total arrived.  I put the Volvo computer cover part on my 2005 Volvo XC 70.  I threw the broken part in the rear area.  I put the canned corn in the kitchen cabinet above the stove.  I was able to reset the password on my State of Connecticut Social Services account.  The paper work that I sent in a week and a half ago was received.  My state of Connecticut EBT Food Stamps was raised from $253 to $256 a month.  I threw out the shipping boxes.  I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice and vitamins and supplements, and an instant coffee outside.

07/16/24 Tuesday 8:20 P.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with eight slices of smoked ham with six slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of diet caffeine free www.coke.com and a 15 ounce can of mixed vegetables with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.

I will now rest a bit.

07/16/24 Tuesday 5:45 P.M.   I chatted with a friend.  I moved the older LG 14000 BTU portable air conditioner back into the living room.  It seems more powerful.  I moved the new recertified LG portable air condtioner hooked up the bedroom window for a cooler bedroom.  I stored the two year old LG 7000 BTU air conditioner in the northwest corner of the bedroom.  I will see once the sun goes down, if that way cools off the apartment more.

It is 115 degrees Fahrenheit outside my living room windows and 83 degrees Fahrenheit in the living room.

07/16/24 Tuesday 2:05 P.M.  The order with tracking of Detailed Tracking (fedex.com) on the order for  LG 24" HD Smart TV with webOS 3.5 (2020 Model) - Open Box 719192641402 | eBay for $79.76 total arrived.  The stand slid on it easily.  I placed it on the computer desk underneath the bedroom window.  I hooked it up to the Lenovo mini computer.  I connected a LAN cable to it.  Today once the HDMI cable arrives, I will connect it to the bedroom cable box.  I installed Netflix, Amazon Prime, Max, and Sky News apps on it.  The Amazon Music app does not work on it.  I threw out the shipping box.  I will photograph it later.  I will now rest a bit.

07/16/24 Tuesday 2:15 A.M.  From in front of the red leather Chesterfield chair, I moved the new square end table to the right side of the Queen Anne chair.  To fit it in, I moved the Queen Anne chair about eight inches to the left.  I moved the Dell 17.3 inch laptop setup from the bedroom to that new square end table on the right side of the Queen Anne chair.  It is connected to a LAN cable.  From the left rear of the Ethan Allen recliner, I moved the Danish cherry end table to in front of the red Chesterfield leather chair.  I put the Apple Mac Book Pro setup back on it.  However, it does not have an available LAN cable, so it has to work off wireless.  There is room on the new computer desk in the bedroom to put the open box LG TV and monitor on the computer desk instead of on the bedroom window sill.

07/16/24 Tuesday 1:15 A.M.  From the living room desk, I moved the Lenovo Mini Computer with the latest Windows 12 Development Beta 26100.1150 Preview on it to the right side of the mahogany bureau in the bedroom along with its devices.  Besides hooking up the open box LG 24 inch television to the LAN for Smart TV and the Cable box, it will also work as a monitor which I will hook up to the Lenovo Mini computer for beta testing.  Since I am not using the four LAN cable on the Netgear router on the desk, I hooked it up the Ocean Digital Internet Radio.

I moved the black desk fan from on top of the Amazon microwave oven in the kitchen back to the left rear of the teak dining table.

I will now go outside again and drink an instant coffee.

07/15/24 Monday 11:30 P.M.  I moved the large Samsung microwave oven from on top of the refrigerator to the far right kitchen counter.  From the far right kitchen counter, I moved the 32 inch Vizio television setup to on top of the refrigerator.  I put the three remote controls on top of the front right of the Samsung microwave oven.  Now a shorter person can use the Samsung microwave oven.  From the mahogany bureau in the bedroom, I moved the Map of Magellan lamp to the right side of the white bureau in the bedroom.  It does not turn on with the central lighting system but just the lamp switch.

07/15/24 Monday 4:20 P.M.  I moved the CusineArt Kcup coffee machine from the right side of the kitchen counter to on top of the Glacier five gallon water dispense on the right side of the kitchen entrance.  I moved the Amazon microwave oven from the right side of the kitchen counter to the blue bookcase top on the left side of the kitchen.  Now that the right side of the kitchen counter is cleared out.  I ordered Amazon.com: Maximm Cat 6 Ethernet Cable 25 ft (2-Pack) - High-Speed LAN Cable, Internet Cable, Patch Cable, and Network Cable - UTP, 10Gbps, 550MHz Ethernet Cord - Black : Electronics for $10.62 total.  I will put the LG television in the bedroom.  I moved the 32 inch Vizio television from the bedroom to the kitchen, and I also have the Amazon Cube hooked up to it.  The coaxial analog channel input is sharp, but it is not as a large picture.  I moved the fan from the teak dining table to on top of the Amazon microwave in the kitchen.

07/14/24 Sunday 10:15 P.M.   In the northwest corner of the living room, I raised up the black pedestal fan to the windows shelf to blow around the hot air in the upper ceiling part of the living room.  I moved the Harvard chair to the left, and I folded out the beach chair in front of the Dell 17.3 inch laptop setup on the left side of the Samsung television.  Thus the beach chair is ready to go to the beach at Tod's Point, if I want to spend $15 on gasoline round trip to go there.

I opened up the kitchen entrance.  I moved the Microsoft Surface RT from the cherry Danish end table on the right side of the Queen Anne chair to the left side of the teak dining table.  I moved that end table to the left rear side of the Ethan Allen recliner with the copper Eagle lamp on it.  From there, I move the small brass and glass end table to the right side of the red leather Chesterfield chair with the AT&T two line telephone on it.  From there I move the small round end table to the left side of the mahogany bureau in the bedroom, and I moved the black desk fan from the bedroom window to that small round end table.  From there, I folded up the folding mahogany chair, and I put it behind the Rubbermaid hamper in the bedroom corner.  I then moved the Queen Anne chair and the small dark oak end table further to the right totally opening up the kitchen entrance for spacious entrance.

07/12/24 Friday 11:35 P.M.  I moved the new Taylor wall thermometer from the left living room closet door to the wall on the left side of the computer desk, so one can easily see it as one  walks in the apartment or from the computer desk.  I moved the antique bronze lamp from the bookcase to the left of the Samsung television to the mahogany bureau in the bedroom plugged into an always on cord, so it is both a night light and can be used from above at the bedroom Dell 17.3 inch laptop setup in the dark.  I moved the black desk fan from the bookcase on the left side of the hallway to the Dell 17.3 inch laptop setup end table on the left side of the Samsung television, so it blows fan air out towards the back of the new LG 14000 BTU portable air conditioner out into the room.

07/12/24 Friday 10:05 P.M.  I went out to www.mcdonalds.com on West Putnam Avenue, and I bought two double cheeseburgers for $4.71.  I then drove down to the Greenwich Common, and I had a picnic to celebrate Bastille Day.  The million dollars to restore the Greenwich Common was paid for by the local Alliance Francaise.  I then sat out at the Veterans monument for a while.  I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com .  I sat out in front of the Senior and the Arts Center.  I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I toured the store.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.59, four 20 ounce cans of Stop and Shop pineapple chunks in juice for $1.69 each can, a package of Mission Spinach wraps for $4.69, deli sliced ham for $4.99 a pound for $4.72, and deli sliced white American cheese for $4.99 a pound for $5.42 for $23.18 total.  I then returned home.  I put away my groceries.  I put the grey bag back in the car.  I drank an instant coffee outside.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside again.

07/12/24 Friday 12:20 A.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six slices of smoked ham with six slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of corn with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.

07/11/24 Thursday 11:10 P.M.  I did this one can try this an created a Windows 11 beta Rufus for older machines with this method by downloading the latest Windows Developer 11 beta 26100.1150 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewiso?rfs=1 , and I used this procedure for Windows 11 on an older PC, Windows 11 Rufus installed from USB Pen Drive  I made a Windows 11 Rufus USB pen drive with this method this https://rufus.ie/en/ to created a Windows 11 bootable USB pen drive for it to upgrade https://www.elevenforum.com/t/create-bootable-windows-11-iso-without-tpm-secure-boot-and-ram-requirements.1891/ I formatted the over 8 GB USB pen drive in NTFS, and I set Rufus to "MBR" selected and the second and third advanced options selected, also select options no TPM/no Secure boot.  The different language versions of the Windows 11 *.iso download are here https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11 thus for example if one wanted Windows 11 Professional in French download the *.iso file and make the Windows 11 Rufus USB pen drive the same way.  Once again the Complete PC backup does not work, but Aomei backup does work. Microsoft does not pay its beta tester minions, but one learns a bit about their operating systems for free.  Also on the beta disk manager does not work, unless one uses this way run a CMD prompt as Administrator, and run, "compmgmt.msc" .  This will also work on older computers too.

I then installed and configured it on the Lenovo Mini on the desk.  I have Office 2019 activated on it too.  If one plugs in the Brother MFC machine to it, it works too for printing. Microsoft Project is only activated for a month.  I did an Aomei backup of it an external SSD drive.

I moved the octagon table to the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner.  I moved the square end table from there to the right side of the Queen Anne chair.  From there I moved the new square end table in front of the red leather Chesterfield chair in the sitting area, and I still have the Apple Mac Book Pro setup on it.  I put an extension exhaust hose on the new LG 14000 BTU air conditioner, and I cleaned its air filters.  I moved it further out into the living room facing the sitting area.  I had to install a longer extension cord.

07/11/24 Thursday 3:45 A.M.  To hopefully make the living room cooler, I moved the new 14000 BTU LG portable air conditioner further out into the room and turned it towards the kitchen entrance to give it more air circulation in back and to direct the cool air closer to my desk with the HP laptop.  Also I learned, if one sets it below 66 degrees Fahrenheit, it does not seem to cool, so I set it at 66 degrees Fahrenheit.  I also moved the LaCrosse weather station from the bookcase on the left side of the Samsung television to the top of the bookcase on the left side of the hallway to keep it more exposed to the actual temperature.

07/11/24 Thursday 2:30 A.M.  I worked with the bedroom laptop setup.  It works just fine, and it is nice and cool in the bedroom sitting next to the two season old 7000 BTU LG portable air conditioner.  However, the living room is still 80 degrees Fahrenheit.  I guess brick buildings retain heat.  Both Dell 17.3 inch computers are configured with Windows 10 and Windows 12 beta Canary with Microsoft Office suites and they also print out through wireless to the Brother All Purpose laser machine.

07/10/24 Wednesday 11:40 P.M.  From the bedroom, I moved the Microsoft Surface RT to the right side of the Queen Anne chair.  From there, I moved the Dell 17.3 inch laptop setup to on top of two folding oak TV tables underneath bedroom window with the folding mahogany chair in front of it.  I also put the bedroom thermometer in the upper left of the U.S.A. flag.  I moved the print of the map of Magellan to the left side of the bathroom entrance, and from there I moved the Audubon blue heron print to the right side of the Vizio TV in the bedroom.  Thus there is a cooler place to the left next to the 7000 BTU LG portable air conditioner to work the internet in the bedroom.

07/10/24 Wednesday 8:55 P.M.  I went out, and I stopped by Citrella on West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a roast beef sandwich on a sour dough bread with endive lettuce for $9.65.  I the drove downtown to the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park, and I had a picnic eating the sandwich.  I then toured www.cvs.com .  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a five gallon bottle of Poland Spring water with bottle return for $8.99, a 12 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $16.99, a package of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99, and two 64 ounce Ocean Spray diet cranberry and raspberry juice for $3.69 each for $35.35 total.  I then returned home.  I used my little folding cart to bring up the 42 pound bottle of water.  I put away my groceries.  I then put the folding cart and grey bag in the car.  I drank an instant coffee outside.  I filed this report.

07/09/24 Tuesday 6:50 P.M.  After the last note, I went out to the Greenwich Hospital thrift shop on Hamilton Avenue, and I toured the store.  They have a lot of nice heavy items there.  After I left, when I went to start the car, the "Check Engine" light was on.  I returned home.  I used my Code Resetter to get rid of the "Check Engine" light warning.  I sat outside for a long time.  I went out to the www.chase.com Bank ATM machine at Deerfield Place.  They were busy in conference, so they could not explain the web site problem.  They told me to call the number on the back of my debit card.  I then went to www.cvs.com Greenwich Avenue, and I picked up a prescription.  I also bought a Daisy's croissant for $1.99.  I then sat out in the park across the street for a long time, and I ate my croissant.  I used the bathroom at www.cvs.com .  I then returned home.  I sat outside.  I chatted with a friend.  I filed this report.  For my 2005 Volvo XC 70, I ordered 2002-2014 Volvo Upper Cover 8645259 | TascaParts.com for $26.72 total.

07/09/24 Tuesday 12:05 P.M.  I opened up the sitting area in the living room.  I moved the folding mahogany chair from the left side of the bed to the right side of the kitchen entrance.  I then moved the bent oak chair from the laptop setup on the left side of the Samsung television to the left side of the bed.  I then moved the Harvard chair to the laptop setup on the left side of the Samsung television.  I moved the red Chesterfield leather chair to underneath the center living room window.  I removed both folding oak TV tables from either side of it.  I put round table on the left side of the red leather chair with the green column lamp on it and the internet radios.  I put the small round table on the right side of the red leather chair with the two line Panasonic telephone on it.  I put the folding beach chair against the wall behind the Harvard chair.  I moved the saddle color faux leather chair from the left of the Ethan Allen recliner to right side of the end table on the right side of the Ethan Allen recliner.  I moved the square end table from in front of the end table to the left side of the mahogany bureau in the bedroom with Map of Magellan lamp on it.  I moved the new square end table with the Dell 17.3 inch laptop setup to the right of the Queen Anne chair.  Behind that I put the small brass and glass end table with the copper Eagle lamp on it.  On the left side of the Queen Anne chair, I put the oriental lamp that was on the round table on the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner.  I put the Microsoft Surface RT setup on left side of the teak dining table.  Thus the apartment is more open looking and also in the sitting area.

07/09/24 Tuesday 1:20 A.M.  I woke up at 11:45 P.M.  I made my bed.  I picked up the mail.  I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice, and an instant coffee outside.  I washed the breakfast dishes.

07/08/24 Monday 2:25 P.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six slices of smoked ham with six slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of diet caffeine free www.coke.com and a 15 ounce can of corn with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.

07/08/24 Monday 1:15 P.M.   I went out, and I stopped by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop, and I toured the store.  They have a lot of nice furniture there.  The butler's table is still there, but it has been sold.  I then sat out at Grass Island for a while.  I then sat out at Bruce Park for a while.  I then sat out at the Senior and the Arts Center for a while.  I used the bathroom there.  I then went to Whole Foods, and I bought a croissant there for $3.  I then went to the Greenwich Library parking lot, and I ate the croissant there.  I then read today's New York Times at the Greenwich Library which is well air conditioned.  I used the bathroom there.  I then returned home.

The building custodian fixed the kitchen faucet with new hardware, so it now works just fine.  I put the faucet adapter on it that I bought yesterday.

07/08/24 Monday 9:25 A.M.   I went downtown to the Board of Education Veterans monument bench, and I sat out for a while.  I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com .  I then sat out in front of the Senior and the Arts center.  I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue.  I bought a folding $35 Sun and Sky beach chair for $18.07 total with coupons.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a 5 five gallon bottle of Poland Spring water with bottle return coupon for $9.99, a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $2.99 and a package of Mission spinach wraps for $4.69 and a 64 ounce Silk vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $3.99 for $21.66 total.  I then returned home.  I used my little folding cart to bring up the 42 pound bottle of water.  I put the groceries away.  I put the folding cart and the grey bag back in the car.  I brought up the folding beach chair, and I put it folded up behind the Harvard chair and the round end table, so it does not take up any room.  I went outside, and I drank an instant coffee.  I filed this report.

07/08/24 Monday 4:55 A.M.  I woke up at 3 A.M.  I woke up at 3 A.M.  I made my bed.  The kitchen sink still had a slow drip.  I was able to fix it for now by turning off the hot water intake with the valve below the sink on the left side, so with only cold water turned on, it does not drip.  I went outside.  A neighbor was going to need a jump start, but the neighbor got the car going.   I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice, and an instant coffee outside.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  The www.chase.com Bank web site still does not work without calling up and getting a second code after 8 A.M.  I will now go outside and drink an instant coffee.

07/07/24 Sunday 3:50 P.M.  The kitchen sink faucet is still dripping, so I turned it off.  I will have to call Greenwich Communities for repairs tomorrow morning.

07/07/24 Sunday 2:05 P.M.  I went out to the Old Greenwich Feinstod Ace Hardware store, and I bought two faucet adapters for $38.27 both.  One adjusts to just a trickle and the other adjusts spray.  I got both, because I did not realize the second one did not turn off, and I did not want to drive that far again.  I then went to the Old Greenwich Shell Station car wash, and I got the basic car wash for $7.75.  I then returned home.  I installed the adjustable faucet adapter, and I turned on both valves to about the lowest possible setting, so when the new faucet adapter is set to trickle, there is only about one drop every ten seconds.  I put the other faucet adapter in the far left counter drawer in the kitchen and the one that I took off.

07/07/24 Sunday 10:00 A.M.  I mailed the state of Connecticut social services paper work at the Central Greenwich post office.  I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue.  I toured the store.  I bought a Daisy's croissant for $1.99.  I then bought a 14 ounce box of Pepperidge Farm goldfish crackers with $4 bonus bucks from the previous purchase for $1.49.  I then sat out in the park across the street, and I ate the croissant.  I then drove down to the Board of Education veterans monument bench, and I sat out for a while.  I then returned home.  I sat outside.  I filed this report.

I recall once in the long time I spent out on www.nantucket.net that I bought a pair of white Adidas Country sneakers with three green strips for $40 a Murray's Togery shop.  It was not a simple life in Nantucket working dish washing, pot scrubbing, and food prep for 12 to 18 hours a day for six or seven days a week.  Also I would job ten miles out to the beach on South Shore round trip and rest briefly between the lunch and the dinner shifts.  Even though the Lanquedoc restaurant at 11 P.M., I had to stay there cleaning up the kitchen until 4 A.M.  Alas, when I returned to Greenwich on December 13, 1983; they put me on Welfare not unemployment, since I had major medical bills at the Greenwich Hospital, when they determined I was disabled.

I will now go outside again.

07/06/24 Saturday 4:35 P.M.  I channel surfed.  I will now shut down the laptop computer, and I will go to bed. 

07/06/24 Saturday 4:10 P.M.  I am about to eat a 14.5 ounce Boston Market Salisbury steak meal with Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce and a 12 ounce glass of Fresca three ounces of grapefruit juice.

07/06/24 Saturday 3:35 P.M.  I went outside.  I then went to the www.chase.com Bank ATM machine at Deerfield Place.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  I bought deli sliced honey ham for $4.99 a pound for $4.67 and deli sliced white American cheese for $3.99 a pound for $4.07 for $8.74 total.  I then returned home, and I put away my groceries.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside again.

07/06/24 Saturday 2:45 P.M.  I used my Vice Grips to turn off the water to the kitchen sink.  I can use my bath tub to wash the few dishes I use, until the leaky kitchen sink faucet is fixed.

It is busy out at sea Nantucket Live Video Streaming Webcams of the Island Beside the $150 1971 Subaru wagon, the most expensive think I ever bought out on Nantucket was a pink La Coste shirt at Murray's togery shop.  I did spend about $50 for clutch parts to fix the Subaru which I had to take the engine out.  French wine was only a dollar bottle on my days off which were few and far between.

07/06/24 Saturday 1:15 P.M.   I put the Apple Mac Book Pro setup on the octagon end table and from there I moved the Microsoft Surface RT to the small round table in front of the Harvard chair.  I also moved the White Star line place mat to the square cherry Danish end table between the Ethan Allen recliner and the red leather Chesterfield chair.

David Maxwell took Spanish from Beezer Manning at Taft, but I do not know if he was involved with Maxwell House coffee or not.  He threw our Taft Graduation Party on the Beach at Lloyd's Neck, Long Island in June of 1968.  Steve Shook in our class was from Venezuela, so knew Spanish too.

07/06/24 Saturday 3:15 A.M.  I went down to the Community Room library, and I got a thick book which is Stephen King's book, "Needful Things."

I used it to raise up the right side of the Samsung television, and I took out Paul Samuelson's tenth edition book on, "Introduction to Economics."  I put it on the lower shelf of the center hallway bookcase.

I used to have a lot of books in my apartment, but I threw them out over ten years ago.

I saw the shadow of a dog in the parking lot to the North, and the usual black cat was walking by and a night walker.

A lot of people in the New York City area do not own cars, so they are use to walking a bit.

Midnight Mike uses a car since there is no public transportation in the suburbs at night, but in Manhattan they have a bit of public transportation at night, for the night workers whom ever they might have been.  I frequently saw black vans moving around Manhattan at night, and I figured out they might be government workers working at night when it less busy.

07/05/24 Friday 8:55 A.M.  I went downtown to the Board of Education Veterans Monument bench, and I sat out for a while.  I ate my croissant.  I used the bathroom twice at www.starbucks.com .  I put $20 on my Starbucks card.  I bought a medium Veranda blend with Splenda sweetener and almond milk for about $3.29  I drank it in front of the Senior and the Arts Center.  I walked down to Zen Stationary, and I bought a Fish and Chips scratch card for a dollar, and as usual I lost to the Bank of Bombay.  I sat out some more.  At 7 A.M., I went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I toured the store.  I used the bathroom there.  I then went to the Acme grocery store at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought six 12 ounce cans of Dole Mandarin oranges for $2.39 a can, a 42 ounce Smart Balance spread for $9.69, a 64 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $5.69 and a 30 ounce Simply Orange grapefruit juice for $5.09 for $34.91 total.  I then returned home.  I put away my groceries.  I put my grey bag back in the car.  I drank an instant coffee outside.  I filed this report.

07/05/24 Friday 3:05 A.M.  I moved the small round end table from in front of the bedroom window to in front of the Harvard chair with the Apple Mac Book Pro setup on it.  I pulled the end table between the sitting chairs back, and I put the square Danish cherry end table in front of it.  I moved the bent pine chair in the bedroom back in front of the bedroom window and the folding mahogany chair at the left side of the bed.  One thing I learned in Illinois is that we have a lot of wood in America, so there is a lot of used furniture in America which is fairly common from my viewpoint.

07/05/24 Friday 2:30 A.M.  If one knows how to read English and wants to learn something about money, I would recommend reading Economics, 20edition: Sudip Chaudhuri Anindya Sen and William D Nordhaus Paul A Samuelson: 9789389538038: Amazon.com: Books which I just bought and cancelled for $34.55 which is about what I paid for my first copy of the same book at www.lakeforest.edu back in 1968 which was about the price of an ounce gold at the time.  I do not need it, since I have a new copy of the tenth edition.  To get my bachelors degree in Economics, I read about fifty other books on the subject also.  One of the best places to study Keynes economics Keynesian economics - Wikipedia might be the London School of Economics LSE Home .  However, there is a different school of Economics out of the University of Chicago by Milton Friedman - Wikipedia where David Rockefeller whom might have had some money got a PHD in Economics.  However, in the chaos of 748 billionaires in the United States of America, it is hard to determine if any of the new money know anything about economics.

07/05/24 Friday 1:15 A.M.  I rotated the Harvard chair 180 degrees, so one can watch the Samsung television with the Apple Mac Book Pro on the square Danish cherry end table in front of it all to the left of the Ethan Allen recliner.  I put the round table with the oriental lamp behind it.  I moved the Google display to the end table on the left side of the red Chesterfield leather chair.  I though people from Harvard did not watch television, but just read millions of books that they have stored up.  Somebody once told me that NBC was Rockefeller Yale network, CBS was Columbia University and ABC was Harvard.  I guess Princeton was PBS for all I know.  I think Dartmouth since it is an American Indian school might use drums and smoke signals.  Cornell since the President of Taiwan went there might be Chinese.  There was never any television out in Nantucket in my days there, and Nantucket probably has a few Harvard people.

07/04/24 Thursday 10:45 P.M.  Also most of the natural gas for Long Island comes down from a pipe line from Canada, if one plans to stay warm in the winter.  There are also the three nuclear power plants called Indian Point near the Rockefeller complex in North Tarrytown, New York to keep their house warm in the winter in case they run out of fuel oil from where ever it comes from.  Supposedly all of the oil in America is controlled by a slow talking person from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma whom once was on Cspan that nobody watched.  The flipping Dutch at Shell Oil won't give me a gasoline credit card either.  The United States of America also has a reserve of 400 years of coal.  I think in the old days, when short people were popular like the Duke of Windsor, a lot of short people in England knew how to mine coal also.  If one does not feel like going into a coal mine like Eleanor Roosevelt, the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago has a real coal mine to travel through.  They also have a German U boat, which I can not figure out how it got there.  However, it takes 200 to 400 million years for oil develop from swampy vegetation, so it is a precious commodity.

07/04/24 Thursday 9:45 P.M.  I watched the Capitol Fourth on Channel 12 PBS.  It looks like there are still a few people down there in D.C.  I guess they have not all gone away to Martha's Vineyard to feed the coffers of Henry's Package store or whatever they spend their money on.  Washington D.C. was classified by the British Foreign Office as a Tropical Zone until the advent of air conditioning in World War II.  However, in the history of Virginia in the first settlement in the Roanoke Plantation, they all disappeared in a very cold winter, when it was first settled.  The last time I drove down there around February 1991, it was zero degrees Fahrenheit, and not many people were around mlsdc.jpg (689×947) (mikelouisscott.com) , and I was just wearing a light turquoise Eisenhower golf jacket which I gave to George Gordon Cary from East Aurora, New York who does not mind the cold either.  At the time George H.W. Bush was down in Argentina, so they were just cleaning the White House.  There was a new Canadian Embassy on Pennsylvania Avenue though.

07/04/24 Thursday 7:40 P.M.  I woke up at 5:30 P.M.  I chatted with a friend from Sea Island, Georgia where some www.coke.com people live.  It is supposed to be hot down there.  I made my bed.  I went outside.  I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice, and an instant coffee outside.  CIO

07/04/24 Thursday 9:55 A.M.   I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with six slices of deli turkey with six slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com Zero Sugar and a 15 ounce can of corn with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli turkey I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a turkey and cheese wrap. 

I will now shut down the laptop computer, and I will go to bed. 

07/04/24 Thursday 9:25 A.M.  Bad news, I was turned down for a Shell Oil credit card.  I guess I have a bad credit rating.  Maybe the Dutch don't want me to escape from Greenwich or travel less that I do already. 

07/04/24 Thursday 9:15 A.M.  I went downtown to the Board of Education Veterans Monument, and I sat out for a long time.  www.starbucks.com was opened.  I used the bathroom there twice, and I sat out some more at the Senior and the Arts Center. The Starbucks web site does not show the store on Greenwich Avenue.  At 7 A.M. I went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue.  I bought three 12 packs of www.coke.com Zero Sugar and two Anne's croissants for $27.56 total.  I then sat out in the park across the street, and I had a picnic of one of the croissants.  I then went by the www.chase.com Bank ATM machine on Greenwich Avenue at Elm Street.  I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.  I bought two six packs of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99 each six pack, six 20 ounce cans of Stop and Shop pineapple chunks with juice for $1.69 each can, and a package of deli sliced smoked ham for $6.99 a pound for $7.09 for $21.21 total.  I then returned home.  I used my little folding cart to bring up the soda.  I put away the groceries.  I put the folding cart and grey bag back in the car.  I drank an instant coffee outside.  I filed this report. 

07/04/24 Thursday 5:45 A.M.  www.starbucks.com on Greenwich Avenue does not open until 3 P.M. today the Fourth Holiday, but it is supposed to be open at Putnam Plaza next to Whole Foods for your Java Jolt.  Thus there is no place on Greenwich Avenue to go to the bathroom, until www.cvs.com opens at 7 A.M. if their bathroom is not locked because of local youth causing problems in it.  Maybe the banded bathroom at the CFCF coffee shop is opened at 6:30 A.M.

I will now go downtown in my starving mode, since the local budget director has banned www.mcdonalds.com nearby.  I guess at 7 A.M., I could get a croissant at CVS,  I think with it being a holiday, the local Greenwich Avenue people might be short shifted.   

07/04/24 Thursday 5:00 A.M.   I moved the octagon end table from in front of the Harvard chair to in front of the saddle color faux leather chair in the sitting area.  I also put the White Star line place mat on it to protect its glass top.  It is an Ethan Allen table that cost $350 new that I got at the Greenwich Hospital thrift shop about six months ago for $38.  From there I moved the square Danish cherry end table to in front of the Harvard chair with the Apple Macbook Pro laptop setup on it.  In historical times Octagon buildings and Octagon symbols were universal warning signs like American road stop signs.  I think in London, there is supposed to be an Octagon building made up of all the different marbles from the world.  Back in Manhattan where nobody ever goes on around West 13th Street and the Hudson River, there is an Octagon building once called the Jane West Hotel where Herman Melville wrote the book Moby Dick which only has a one page description of Nantucket calling it a barnacle encrusted island.  The White Star line was the owners of the Titanic, if one forgot.

From in front of the Harvard chair, I moved the small dark oak end table to the left of the Queen Anne chair.  From there I moved the octagon end table in front of the Harvard chair.  I moved the Queen Anne chair a bit to the left.  I took the White Star line place mat off the square end table to the right of the Queen Anne chair, and I put it on the square Danish end table in front of the saddle color faux leather chair.  Also from the right side of the Queen Anne chair,  I moved the bronze lamp back to the bookcase on the left side of the Samsung television.  I moved the round table on the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner forward a bit.  I moved the Harvard chair back a bit.  I moved the Queen chair setup to the left a bit, so there is now room to sit at the bent pine chair on the left side of the teak dining table.

07/04/24 Thursday 1:40 A.M.  Back in the winter and spring of 1973, when I worked at CBS News as a clerk typist for the commercials' paper work, and I earned $85 a week and $55 a week after taxes, I lived in a single room at the St. Clair residence just west of Fifth Avenue on West Ninth Street for $35 a week.  It had a shared bathroom.  A lot of the CBS people used to hang out at the Ninth Circle Pub just west of me just west of Greenwich Street.  I used to like the jute box for some current music like the Beach Boys and Elvis tunes.  After CBS fired me for being late to work and wearing my only pair of shoes called Top Siders, I moved in with my family back in Greenwich in June of 1973, and I worked at Boodles restaurant as a waiter until the stock market crash of October 1973 and the Arab Oil embargo.  I read in the New York Times Arts and Leisure section that the European Jet Setters were going to a discothèque near Times Square called "Le Jardin."  I went there one night for $5 cover charge, and I met Fred Von Mierers and Jimmy Eldert.  Fred lived at 420 East 49th Street where he was taking over Billy Baldwin's interior decorating business.  Jimmy had hitch hiked down from Syracuse for some odd reason.  Thus I was around their group of friends until I returned to Greenwich from Nantucket on December 13, 1983.  I did learn a few things about interior decorating.  The Ninth Circle Pub was next to a 24 hour TV repair shop that had all of the old TV parts.  However, not many people watch television in Manhattan, but only in the suburbs were not much happens.  Around the summer of 1984 I bought a 15 inch Samsung color television with rabbit ears for my studio apartment at 700 Steamboat Road for $89 at Woolworth's on Greenwich Avenue, so I knew what was happening on television, after having not watched too much television after CBS.  Since I moved to 71 Vinci Drive in December 1988, I have had a number of televisions that I have maintained and watched occasionally.  Back in September 1989, I bought an Apple 2E computer at a tag sale on Round Hill Road for $100.  About a year later I bought a Compaq 286 for $250 at a tag sale in New Canaan where I could dial up BBS servers.  Around 1992, I got on the internet with dialups with dialup with Netcom.   About five years later or less Cable Vision started offering high speed internet.  Thus I have quite a bit of tech experience based on low income not Big Bucks www.ibm.com .  I did take summer school at Eastern Middle in 1965, when I learned how to type on an IBM selectric typewriter.  I also in the summer of 1971, I had done COBOL programming on an IBM 360 main frame at Polaroid which never lead to any sort of job.

07/04/24 Thursday 12:45 A.M.  I moved the blue ottoman from the sitting area to in front of the Queen Anne chair at the apartment entrance.  From the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner, I moved the square Danish cherry end table in front of the saddle color faux leather chair.  I also moved the brozen antique lamp to the new square end table on the right side of the Queen Anne chair.  I also moved the round end table on the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner forward about a foot.  I also moved the Harvard chair back about a foot, so the entry area is more spacious.

07/03/24 Wednesday 11:45 P.M.  I woke up, and I chatted with a friend and a relative.  I ate a Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissant.  I finally woke up at 10 P.M.  I made my bed.  I went outside.  I picked up the mail.  I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice, and an instant coffee outside.

I moved the square end table with the Dell 17.3 inch laptop from in front of the Queen Anne chair to its right side.  From there, I moved the little round end table to in front of the bedroom window, and I have the Microsoft Surface RT on it.

07/03/24 Wednesday 4:20 A.M.  One can watch, "For Whom the Bells Toll," off Amazon Prime for $3.79.  It is about the Spanish revolution in the 1930s, when a lot of Spanish aristocrats and landed gentry fled Spain and came to the Western Hemisphere for a little bit of peace and quiet when Franco and the Fascists took over.  I once listened to an Ernest Hemingway recording at the University of California at Santa Cruz recording library, and he spoke very slowly like he might be hot.  He said, when the Fascists invaded Madrid, there were four columns around Madrid and a Fifth Column  was within the City.  That is where the term, "Fifth Columnist," came from.

07/03/24 Wednesday 4:00 A.M.  If I am not mistaken Viscount Lindley who is Princess Margaret's son makes furniture.  Also Lord Mountbatten's family used to make cabinet hardware in Germany until they started using the same skills to make guns during war time.  In Europe they have the guild system, so families are employed in the same work for many generations.  CIO

07/03/24 Wednesday 3:25 A.M.  I put a spinach wrap on a dinner plate.  I covered it on one side with Hellmann's mayonnaise.  I then alternated it with eight slices of honey ham with six slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of sweet peas with Smart Balance spread.  The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap.  There is something that goes on at night in the Byram section of Greenwich.  We have a big commercial Arnold Bakery that is owned by Bimboo bakeries, and I think they also make Thomas' English muffins.  Maybe some British Royalty can pay a state visit to see where English muffins are made.  There is an Illinois connection with bakery, because Archer Daniel Midland from Decatur, Illinois near my old Grandfather Scott's farm in Robinson, Illinois supplies the grain trucks for the bakery.  Sometimes, one can smell bread baking  in our neighborhood depending which way the wind blows.  Alas, when my Christian friends were visiting from Georgia at Easter Time, the bakery outlet store was struck by lightning in a thunder storm and burned down, so it is no longer there.  Pepperidge Farm bakeries comes from Norwalk, and they used to have an outlet store there near the Best Buy shopping plaza on the Post Road.

07/03/24 Wednesday 2:20 A.M.  I moved the square end table with the Dell 17.3 inch laptop setup from in front of the saddle color faux leather chair to in front of the Queen Anne chair at the apartment entrance.  From the there I moved the blue ottoman to in front of the saddle color faux leather chair and the red leather Chesterfield chair in the sitting area.  I also moved the small brass and glass table from the left side of the black piano bench to the left side of the saddle color faux leather chair.  Computer are sort of important to me having worked with them since September 1989, so the apartment is now a little bit more computer friendly.  I guess for the older generation whom watch too much television in retirement, they do not appreciate how much computer experience I have.

I switched around the cranberry color ottoman with the marine blue ottoman.

07/02/24 Tuesday 1:00 P.M.  Just for a change, I went out in the day time.  I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop, and I toured around.  They have a mint condition Bombay butler's table for $75.  They still have that very heavy beige leather love seat for $50.  I then went to Grass Island, and I sat out down by the waterfront for a while.  I then returned home.  I sat outside.  I chatted with a relative.  I went outside again.  I will now shut down the laptop computer.  I will eat a yogurt.  I will then go to bed.  In the old days at Fred Von Mierer's apartment at 420 East 49th Street now the German consulate, it was setup for a Bloomsbury type literary publishing salon with all of the publishing buildings in the neighborhood.  CIO

07/01/24 Monday 10:05 P.M.  I woke up at 8 P.M..  I made my bed.  I went outside.  I picked up the mail.  I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice, and an instant coffee outside.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went outside.  The www.chase.com web site no longer works again without getting a code after 8 A.M..  I paid my rent to Greenwich Communities.  I will now go outside and drink an instant coffee to keep myself working all night long.  When I built the garage apartment for Vivian Simmons West out on Plandome Manor, Long Island from April 1982 to February 1983 for $2 an hour mostly all night, she kept saying, "Fish and House Guests Stink after Three Days."  Plandome Manor was designed as a planned community by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan in the 1920s, and even Mr. Grumman of Grumman aircraft was one of Vivian West's neighbors, so visited every five start hotel in the world in her travels, but she never bothered going into Manhattan on the Long Island Railroad from the railroad station next to her house with two police cars 24 hours a day, since her mother whom originally bought the house was part of the Kaiser of Germany's consulate to Manhattan from before World War One.  There were a lot of blond people out there too.  CIO

Today is Dominion Day up in Canada, where I have not been since December 1983, when I visited Toronto, Ontario, Canada; when it was zero degrees Fahrenheit in my summer clothes from www.nantucket.net and stayed at the Anglican Seminary Library red leather couch at the University of Toronto, until they asked me to leave; so I came back down South on the Amtrak, which was a fun round trip with my Nantucket dish washer money.  I had known Ian Greenshield on Nantucket whom claimed to be Jackie Onassis' body guard at Stowe, Vermont; and he was supposed to be from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  There were also some other people on Nantucket from further up North as I recall.  After I left Nantucket in December 1983, I did see Ian Greenshield once on the beach in Kennebunk, Maine.  CIO

07/01/24 Monday 6:10 A.M.  From the right side of the red leather Chesterfield chair, I moved the Dell 17.3 inch laptop setup to the new square end table in front of the Queen Anne chair.  It is also connected to the same LAN cable.  From the small square end table in the bedroom, I moved the Microsoft Surface RT to the small round end table on the right side of the red Chesterfield leather chair.  I moved the the small square end table underneath the bedroom window to in front of the round end table on the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner.  In the bedroom, I moved the folding mahogany chair underneath the bedroom window.  I moved the bent pine chair to the left of the bed.  I moved the small brass and glass table on the left side of the Samsung television to the right side of the Samsung television.  I moved the Google display from the center end table to the round end table on the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner.

07/01/24 Monday 3:45 A.M.  From underneath the bedroom window, I moved the 17.3 Dell laptop to the right side of the red leather Chesterfield chair.  I have the little round end table work surface expanded with the White Star line place mat.  I also moved the LAN cable from the bedroom to connect up the Dell 17.3 inch laptop to the LAN network.  From there, I moved the Amazon Fire table and its headset to the back right of the teak dining table.  Also I moved the Microsoft Surface RT to underneath the bedroom window.  I also turned the bent pine chair on the left side of the teak dining table outwards to have it available to work from.

07/01/24 Monday 2:40 A.M.  I went out to the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I tested my Shell credit card, but it said it had expired.  I never used it anyway.  I just kept it for backup in case I ever had to travel.  I then drove down Greenwich Avenue, and they are still doing water line construction at night.  I drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road.  I then returned back uptown, and I went by the www.chase.com Bank ATM machine at Deerfield Place, and I then toured www.cvs.com at 644 West Putnam Avenue.  I then sat outside.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside and drink an instant coffee.

07/01/24 Monday 1:20 A.M.  I will now go out for a drive.

07/01/24 Monday 12:20 A.M.   I will now go outside again and drink an instant coffee.  There might be California people out on www.nantucket.net in the summer, since they now have Bank of America out there.  They probably still have the Pacific Savings Bank there too.
