I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/18/18 Thursday 9:20 P.M.  I used the white bulb socket plug with the Red LED bulb in the bathroom plugged into the left side of the bathroom sink for night light.  I moved the small round lamp from the bathroom bookcase to the right side of the Buckingham Palace model on the right side of the oak dining table to be available for white LED light.  If one does not watch too much television, one can figure out all sorts of ways to improve one's living accommodations.  CIO

01/18/18 Thursday 8:50 P.M.  I ate the rest of the rotisserie chicken white breast meat and two wings with Frank's hot sauce on it, a 8 ounce microwave Green Giant broccoli spears with Smart Balance Spread,  and the other half of a Knorr teriyaki rice reheated, about 20 cherry tomatoes seasoned with garlic powder, ground black pepper, Italian spices, dried onion bits with Balsamic vinegar dressing, and a 12 ounce glass of diet Fresca.  I will now go outside again and throw out the garbage.  CIO

01/18/18 Thursday 7:30 P.M.  I installed the new light socket in the brass swivel lamp, and I used a little black electrical tape to insulate the electrical leads better.  The lamp works just fine.  I chatted with a relative.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/18/18 Thursday 6:45 P.M.  I threw out the garbage.  I went downtown to Greenwich Avenue.  I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue.  I sat out at various locations.  I toured the www.apple.com store.  I viewed www.starbucks.com .  I used the bathroom at the Senior and the Arts Center.  They now have a "FREE" table in the front southwest parlor of the building.  I retrieved a book called "Nantucket Seasons on the Island by Cary Hazlegrove.  I put it in my Volvo wagon.  They are giving parking tickets to Seniors whom have not yet gotten their new Senior Center parking permits.  I went by www.cvs.com , and I bought two  6 ounce Glade Hawaiian Breeze refills for $5.09 each and a 16 double roll bundle of Charmin extra strong toilet paper for $9.99 and $1.28 tax for $21.45 total.  I then finished my walk.  I then drove by the https://www.greenwichhardware.com/ .  They now have two or three free parking places in front of their store on Railroad Avenue.  I bought a Pass and Seymour legend candelabra lamp holder socket for $5.49 and a white light bulb plug in socket for .99 and .41 tax for $6.89 total.  I then returned home.  I sat outside for a while.  I chatted with the building social worker.  I picked up the mail.  I went outside again.  I put away my purchases.  I will now try to fix the light socket on the older lamp on the window wall side of the Ethan Allen recliner.  CIO

01/18/18 Thursday 12:10 P.M.  I ate a bowl of mango chunks with my breakfast.  I drank my coffee outside.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I vacuumed the front entrance of the apartment.  I will now go outside again.  I will then shower and clean up.  I will then go downtown to Greenwich Avenue to view the rich people having lunch at 1 P.M..  Nobody networks with me, because I look too lean and hungry.  The local fat cats in Greenwich seem to think they have a monopoly here, but it is big world out there in the real world; so they can not control everything; particularly the things they do not know about.  CIO

01/18/18 Thursday 10:55 A.M.  I went outside again.  I signed my lease with the Greenwich Housing Authority in the community room.  I went outside again.  I will now eat breakfast of oatmeal with Equal sweetener and milk and sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with Smart Balance spread and preserves, a 12 ounce glass of 50% punch and 50% cold filtered water, a cup of coffee with Equal sweetener and milk, and vitamins and supplements.  CIO

01/18/18 Thursday 9:35 A.M.  I woke up at 9 A.M..  I went outside.  CIO

01/18/18 Thursday 3:20 A.M.  I went outside again.  I will now shut down the primary work computer.  I will go to bed.  I will get up at 9 A.M. to sign my lease in the community room at 10 A.M.. CIO

01/18/18 Thursday 2:20 A.M.  I ate a rotisserie chicken leg, thigh, and a 3/8th inch thick slice of white breast meat with Frank's hot sauce on it, a 8 ounce microwave Green Giant garden medley vegetables, half of a Knorr teriyaki rice, about 20 cherry tomatoes seasoned with garlic powder, ground black pepper, Italian spices, dried onion bits white vinegar and extra virgin olive oil, and a 12 ounce glass of diet Fresca.  CIO

01/18/18 Thursday 1:25 A.M.  I put away the clean laundry.  I moved the red LED bulb from the bumble bee lamp to the oil style lamp underneath Grandfather Bovan portrait.  I moved the bumble lamp from behind the living room desk to the forward top of the white book shelf at the kitchen entrance.  I also did a few other minor tweaks.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/17/18 Wednesday 11:15 P.M.  I started two loads of wash, and I have 15 minutes to go on two wash cycles.  I went outside again.  CIO

01/17/18 Wednesday 10:10 P.M.   I went outside again.  I tried fixing the cheap red dollar flash light from the Stop and Shop, but either the bulb is broken, or I broke it fiddling with it.  I will now go outside again.  I will then shower and clean up.  CIO

01/17/18 Wednesday 8:30 P.M.  I put clean linens on the bed.  I will now go outside again.  I have to sign my new lease in the community room  tomorrow morning between 10 A.M. and 11:30 A.M.. I have all of the paper work put together.  CIO

01/17/18 Wednesday 8:10 P.M.  I moved the little two elephant light from the window ledge to the small table to the right of the Queen Anne chair as one looks at it.  It turns on with its inline switch.  I moved the small red LED light from the oak dining table  to the left side of the bookcase in the bathroom.  I put one of the new red LED lights in the bumble bee lamp with the shade off behind the living room desk on the left living room window ledge.  I put in CFL red light in the bookcase light in the hallway with the light facing out into the hallway.  I put another red CFL light in the left pineapple lamp on the bedroom desk.  I moved the third red LED light bulb to the kitchen wall socket in a plug in bulb socket.  Thus with all of the red lights turned on the apartment all of the time, all the five major areas in the apartment have full red light, when all of the apartment white lights are turned off.  In World War II,  Royal Air Force pilots used to stay in red light rooms at night, so they would have better night vision on their night missions.  I will now go outside again.  I ordered four in red E27 110 V https://www.ebay.com/itm/E27-E14-G9-B22-Red-Green-Blue-5050-SMD-27-LED-Corn-Light-Bulb-Lamp-AC-110V-220V/191884678704?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D44039%26meid%3Da9269f4bcfa2476586c4d65e3d02e230%26pid%3D100623%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D361534315372&_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1 for $10.46 with free shipping on another slow boat from Hong Kong. CIO

01/17/18 Wednesday 6:25 P.M.  I chatted with a relative about 5 P.M..  I got up from nap at 5:30 P.M..  I went outside, and I threw out the garbage and the old periodical literature.  I picked up the mail.  The order for two red E27 LED 110 Volt light bulbs https://www.ebay.com/itm/E27-E14-G9-B22-Red-Green-Blue-48-SMD-5050-LED-Corn-Light-Bulb-Lamp-110-220V-3-5W/361534315372?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=630921423714&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649  for $2.50 each and $1.78 shipping on another slow boat from Hong Kong for $6.78 total arrived.  I put one in the small oak dining table light that stays on all of the time and the other in the pineapple lamp on the left side of the bedroom desk that stays on all of the time.  Thus all of my apartment lights are LED except for the two bathroom florescent lights, the hallway florescent light and the kitchen ceiling florescent light.  I watered the plants with ten drops of Schultz liquid plant food in each quart of water.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/17/18 Wednesday 3:45 P.M.  I chatted with a friend.  In records on the internet at www.cia.gov it was declassified over five years ago that Polaroid made the cameras and film for the CIA U2 black bird https://www.cia.gov/news-information/featured-story-archive/2010-featured-story-archive/cia-and-u-2-a-50-year-anniversary.html and https://www.cia.gov/library/center-for-the-study-of-intelligence/csi-publications/books-and-monographs/a-12/Archangel-2ndEdition-2Feb12.pdf and https://www.cia.gov/news-information/speeches-testimony/1995/dci_speech_52395.html and https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/cold-war/resolving-the-missile-gap-with-technology/missile-gap.pdf and https://www.cia.gov/news-information/featured-story-archive/2012-featured-story-archive/the-people-of-the-cia-bissell-an-agency-leader.html and https://www.cia.gov/search?q=Polaroid&site=CIA&output=xml_no_dtd&client=CIA&myAction=%2Fsearch&proxystylesheet=CIA&submitMethod=get .  Also back in 1973 Life Magazine printed that Polaroid photographers worked for the CIA, which made it a bit difficult for me moving around the general public. My boss at Polaroid while I was there had worked for www.af.mil intelligence, so maybe that is the connection.  I am a bit tired, so I will now rest some more.  CIO

01/17/18 Wednesday 12:15 P.M.  I woke up, and I ate 8 Lorna Doone cookies.  I finally woke up at 11:30 A.M..  I went outside.   I will eat breakfast of Kashi cereal and milk, a toasted English muffin with Smart Balance Spread and jelly, a glass of 50% punch and 50% cold filtered water, and a 12 ounce cup of regular coffee with Equal sweetener and milk and vitamins and supplements.  CIO

01/17/18 Wednesday 2:35 A.M.  I heard an animal barking in the woods and a bird chirping which is unusual for this time of day.  I will now shut down the primary work computer.  I will go outside again.  I will then go to bed.  CIO

01/15/18 Monday 10:50 P.M.  I went downtown to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue.  I returned the Journeys Edge weather station for $10.60 cash refund.  I bought two 64 ounce Ocean Spray cranraspberry juice for $2.50 each and two 64 ounce Ocean Spray crangrape juice for $2.50 each for $10 total.  I sat out in the park across the street before and after entering the store.  I then drove further downtown.  I walked the lower Greenwich Avenue area.  I toured the www.apple.com store.  I viewed Zyn Stationary, but I did not buy a scratch card.  I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com .  I chatted with a relative and a friend.  I sat out for a while at the Senior and the Arts Center.  I felt a little weak, so I did not walk upper Greenwich Avenue.  I drove up to CVS.  I sat out in the park across the street.  A lot of the Philips electronics items were 75% off.  I bought a Philips Iphone Bluetooth docking station clock radio for $11.37, a PowerXcel bluetooth anti-loss alarm for $4.19, a Duracell car cup holder charging system for $3.74, a Philips bluetooth SHB1500 ear piece for $7.99, a Philips USB charger kit for $6.87, a Philips SHL Stereo headphones for $10.74, and a Journeys Edge weather station for $5.32 and $3.19 tax for $53.41 total.  I then sat outside in the park across the street again.  I then went back inside to CVS, and I used the bathroom.  I bought buy two get one free of Bayer 120 count 81 mg low dose baby aspirin for $7.69 each for two and the third free and buy one get one free of 400 capsule 1000 mg CVS B12 for $18.79 both for $34.17 total.  I then sat outside for a while more.  I then chatted with a local Subaru driver about my Subaru experience driving a $150 1971 Subaru from www.nantucket.net with over a hundred thousand miles back and forth across country three times between 1978 and 1980.  I then sat out in the park across the street some more.  I then toured the CVS store for the last time looking for any bargains.  I have two 160 capsule Naproxen Sodium that I will return, because the doctors told me not to use it for my arthritis, since it thins the blood too much, and I also will return a Philips USB charging kit for half price and the Duracell auto cup holder charging kit for half price.  I then sat out in the park across the street some more.  Sitting in that park across the street from CVS out of the wind is a lot easier than walking Greenwich Avenue on a cold evening, and going into CVS to warm up is more interesting than Starbucks.  I then went by the Stop and Shop.  I bought a 59 ounce container of Florida Natural orange juice with calcium for $3, two 8 ounce Cabot's http://www.cabotcheese.com/ Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese for $2.50 each, a five quart box of Stop and Shop powdered milk for $8.19, and two bags of reduced produce cherry tomatoes for $1.43 and $1.46 for $19.08 total.  I then returned home.  I brought up my purchases.  I then went outside.  I then put my purchases away.  I then went outside.  I filed this report.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/15/18 Monday 1:45 P.M.  I went outside, and I drank my coffee.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I made up a fresh batch of punch.  I will now go outside again.  I will then shower and clean up.  I will then go downtown to Green Witch Avenue.  Living here in Greenwich, I never made many Bush connections besides the ones that I knew in Kennebunkport and elsewhere. However, over in Port Chester, New York, at Odd Job trading, I once chatted with the Bush family private pilot that lived on Byram Shore Road here in Greenwich.  He told me George H.W. Bush was on the Board of Directors of Texas Gulf Industries.  He also told me once, when they were flying in the private jet taking George H.W. Bush to a meeting in Africa, when they were taking off, the local Africans were firing guns at the private jet.  Thus politicians do more than is always reported in the news.  CIO

01/15/18 Monday 12:05 P.M.  I woke up, and I ate eight Lorna Donne cookies.  At 9 A.M., a neighbor gave me two tubes of nicotine lounges. CIO

01/14/18 Sunday 9:55 P.M.  I ate the rest of the pineapple mixture along with nine Triscuit crackers with 1.25 inch by 1.25 inch by .25 inch slices of Cracker Barrel Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese.  I now go outside again, and I will visit the local tundra.  http://www.eldoradocountyweather.com/climate/world-extremes/world-temp-rainfall-extremes.php .  CIO

01/14/18 Sunday 8:00 A.M.  I went outside, and I threw out the garbage.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I will now shower and clean up.  I will then go downtown to Green Witch Avenue, Siberia.  I think I will try taking my snow suit for a test walk.  It is big and bulky, but I do not think my parka will fit over it, so even though it might be warmer below my waist, it might be colder in the upper body area.  Also I will have to check out the pockets for my keys.  CIO

01/13/18 Saturday 3:25 P.M.   I went outside, and I chatted with a neighbor that knows cars.  Apparently the new Ford Greenwich Police cars have turbines made by Mitsubishi that are cooled with antifreeze and oil, and when the turbines malfunction, the cars blow white smoke.  I chatted with another neighbor, and I showed her the changes in my apartment.  CIO

01/13/18 Saturday 2:10 P.M.  I am just about to eat half of a Knorr rice teriyaki mixture, and I will refrigerate the other half in a Rubbermaid container.  I will eat it with two White Castle cheeseburgers and a 12 ounce glass of diet Fresca.  CIO

01/13/18 Saturday 1:30 P.M.  I threw out the garbage.  I went downtown, and I toured www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue twice.  I used the bathroom there.  I chatted with a local multilingual person.  I then drove further downtown.  I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue.  I sat out at various locations.  I viewed www.starbucks.com .  I toured the www.apple.com store.  I stopped by CVS again.  I used the bathroom there.  I bought two 6 packs of White Castle cheeseburgers for $4.79 each less a $1 off manufacture's coupon for $8.58 total.  I looked for the Variety store at upper Greenwich Avenue, but it does not seem to be there anymore.  I sat out for a while after my walk.  I then went by the Stop and Shop. I bought five Knorr 5.4 ounce rice mix for $1 each, two 15 ounce Marie Callender sweet and sour chicken dinners for $2 each,  two 15 ounce Quaker Old Fashioned oatmeal for $2.50 each, a four pack of Dannon Greek low fat fruit yogurt for $3.50, bananas for .49 a pound for .87, and a discounted 12 ounce package of Yukon Jack Keta frozen salmon filet for $3.49 for $20.86 total.  I then went by http://valsputnamwines.com/ , and I bought a 6.5 ounce bottle of Angostura bitters for $17.01 total with tax.  I then went by Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $12.01 of self service V-Power premium gasoline with ten cents a gallon off with my Stop and Shop card for $3.499 a gallon for 3.433 gallons at odometer reading of 116658 miles for 34.3 miles driven since Tuesday December 26, 2017 for 9.992 miles per gallon in local cold weather traffic.  While downtown, I saw one of the new Ford Greenwich Police cars blowing a lot of smoke, so they possibly blew a head casket.   I then returned home.  I sat outside briefly.  I put away my purchases.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/13/18 Saturday 7:40 A.M.  I went outside.  A neighbor and myself moved the smokers bench from the north end of the building out of the mud along with the Smoker's post into a dry area.  I chatted with another neighbor.  I will now shower and clean up.  I will then go downtown to Greenwich Avenue to see some of the rich people whom actually do live here on weekends and work elsewhere.  One can see most of the landed gentry in Greenwich on weekends at Wal-Mart in Norwalk, Home Depot in Port Chester or Costco in Port Chester.  If one has a large house to maintain, one can not be bothered with computers and the internet, and weekends is when they try to do it themselves as opposed to hiring the expensive local tradesmen.  Of course a few people whom do not want to drive in all of the traffic go to the Greenwich Hardware store on Railroad Avenue or the small Cos Cob hardware store or the Ace Hardware store in Old Greenwich or even our four local www.cvs.com stores or the big Walgreens store in Old Greenwich.  Some people might even want to get some automobile maintenance done at some of our local service centers.  CIO

01/13/18 Saturday 7:05 A.M.  I went outside, and I drank my coffee.  I chatted with a neighbor from Wales.  I chatted with another neighbor.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.

The places that my family  have lived in this area are.  Rocky Rapids Road in Stamford, Connecticut in 1962.  Baldwin Farms North in Greenwich, Connecticut 1963 to 1966.  The Patterson Farm on Smith Ridge Road in New Canaan, Connecticut in 1966.  Bittersweet Lane in New Canaan, Connecticut in 1967.  Alpine Road in Greenwich, Connecticut in 1967.  Baldwin Farms South in Greenwich, Connecticut in 1968.  21 Cornelia Drive in Greenwich, Connecticut from 1973 to 1978.  Putnam Green Apartments in Greenwich, Connecticut in 1978.  The Southgate apartments next to the New Canaan police station from 1978 to 1982.  Myself at 100 Milbank Avenue in 1984.  700 Steamboat Road from 1984 to 1989.  Here at 71 Vinci Drive since 1989 to date.  Obviously successful corporate people get moved around a lot.  CIO

01/13/18 Saturday 5:45 A.M.  My older sister was in the same class at Rosemary Hall with Charles Lindberg's daughter, so obviously some people in Greenwich knew about aviation.  Monsanto used to have a fleet of private DC3 and Gulf Stream aircraft.  Also there was Norwegian Royalty in both of our classes.  Also James Paul Warburg Junior's father had been undersecretary of the treasury in the Roosevelt administration, and he turned down the job as ambassador to Germany and had a falling out with Roosevelt over keeping the dollar on the gold standard.  Also at Taft, I was in school with two members of the www.ford.com family, a member of the Mellon family, and a member of the Rockefeller family, and a member of the Frick family.  CIO

01/13/18 Saturday 5:10 A.M.  I woke up, and I ate four ounces of mixed nuts.  I finally woke up at 4 A.M.. On other famous people, I might have met or seen.  When I was in Manhattan from November 1980 to February 1982, when I got up early in the morning sometimes, I would see Jack Kennedy's widow jogging around Central Park Reservoir with Anthony Quinn.  Her daughter Caroline worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, when I was always walking around there.  In the winter of 1974, I met somebody that looked like Bill Clinton, and I had him at Fred Von Mierer's apartment at 420 East 49th Street.  Also he might have been in the group of people at Barbara Rockefellers, since they were both from Arkansas.  I might have a long time Bill Gates connection.  In the old days, churches, schools, and other organizations alphabetized all of their members.  Thus my Grandmother Scott's maiden name of Gard might have been sitting near members of the Gates family in the old days.  In our house in Weston, Massachusetts, we once entertained the President of AT&T who looked like Richard Nixon.  I saw Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush at their inaugurals.  Of course, I might have seen other Bushs in Greenwich or Kennebunkport.  In Greenwich in the old days at the Greenwich Country Club, there could have been anyone there, that was not mentioned in the Greenwich Times.  Also in the fall of 1976, Wiley Middleton introduced me to his nephew who was his heir and his wife, and they looked like Bill and Hilary Clinton.  Of course a lot of people look the same.  My first fare from O'Hare airport, when I drove a taxi in Chicago for a day in the fall of 1972 looked like Prince Philip going to the Drake Hotel in Chicago which was the legal address of John D. Rockefeller III.  At Greenwich Country Day, there were three Rockefellers in my glass.  Also I use to visit a pub with Columbia University students, when Obama might have been in the crowd.  Also George Cary's parents had us at the Fort Erie horse race track up in Canada with the Queen Mum of England.  Of course around www.harvard.edu in the old days, anyone could have been there.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/12/18 Friday 3:50 P.M.  On the snow suit, on the metal zipper; there is about two inches of heavy padding on the left side as one looks at it half way up which can stop the zipper from working smoothly.  If one hold the strip of padding back a little bit, the zipper works perfectly fine up and down.  I will now go outside again.  I picked up the mail.  The order for https://www.13deals.com/store/products/48893-2-pack-of-energizer-auto-design-led-slim-nightlights-dark-light-sensor for $6.49 with with coupon code "ENERGIZER1218" for $3.24 free shipping arrived.  I will not install the other two night lights, and I keep them for spares.  CIO

01/12/18 Friday 1:50 P.M.  Well, it is supposed to be down to the teens Fahrenheit on Saturday and Sunday night http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.04904598378624&lon=-73.62304748575207&site=all&smap=1#.WlkCeDdryUl , so I might get a chance to wear it on Greenwich Avenue, if I happen to be out in the very cold weather.  Well, it is a lot cheaper than catching a cold and ending up sick in the hospital.  CIO

01/12/18 Friday 1:45 P.M.   I chatted with another Fedex person here.  He has frost bite on his fingers from delivering cases of wine in Old Greenwich during the cold spell.  The snow suit is a little bit long by a couple of inches, but other than that it fits just fine.  I hung it up  on my open bathroom door with my red L.L. 01/12/18 Friday 11:00 A.M.  I went outside again.  I used to know somebody in Manhattan with the last name Monroe from Fort Hood, Texas and the private sheriff in Lake Forest, Illinois, when I attended college there had the last name Monroe.  There are a lot of old American families.  When I was working out in www.nantucket.net back in the summer of 1976, the Scott family had a reunion in Champaign, Illinois with 5,000 family members that I could not afford to attend.  We live in a democracy, so the more people one meets, you get a better feeling about what is going on in the country versus the limited biased public commercial media which is all paid advertising.  The put in new LED fixtures in the hallway outside of my apartment.  CIO

01/12/18 Friday 10:25 A.M.  Also my mother's family from Holland, Michigan lived 25 miles from Grand Rapids, Michigan where Jerry Ford was from.  When I was 8 years old, I played golf with my father and someone that looked like Jerry Ford in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Also a relative was friends in Kennebunkport of a relative of Martin Van Buren.  Here at 71 Vinci Drive, another relative of Martin Van Buren's used to live here, and she had a big house boy that looked like George Washington.  Also back in the early 1960s, while attending a football game at www.usma.edu , I visited the www.forbes.com yacht the Highlander, and I signed the guest book right after Herbert Hoover.  Also my father once gave me Harry Truman's autograph, when he visited Decatur, Alabama.  Also when in Manhattan in the periods I was there, I saw a lot of heads of state and diplomats.  At www.lfc.edu , my farm in Knollwood, Illinois was ten miles away from Adlai Stevenson's farm in Libertyville, Illinois.  I saw Jimmy Carter in 1975 in Plains, Georgia; when he first announced he was going to run for President.  I might have gone to camp at Lookout Mountain Camp with Al Gore.  I saw Ted Kennedy at the Hyannis airport in December 1983 and I was on a small plane with Jack Kennedy's widow down to Manhattan the same day.  Of course living in places like Greenwich, Connecticut, Manhattan, and resorts lots of people always show up, particularly the ones that can afford expensive travel.  As I mentioned in my web notes, half the United States of American citizens own current passports, so we are a well traveled population.  I also used to know a relative of President Garfield.  I went to the Taft School with relatives of President Taft and President Harding.  I used to walk through the Waldorf Astoria Hotel to warm up, and General MacArthur's widow Gene MacArthur lived in the Waldorf Towers.  The last time I saw someone that looked like Prince Charles was when I attended the Microsoft Conference in Manhattan almost ten years ago, and he and the current Prime Minister of England at the time were viewing the restored Grand Central Station.  I also see a lot of other people whom have the same look as famous people and other celebrities.  I think I speak English with a Dutch accent, since my mother is Dutch American.  There are also Lincoln family members in this area.  I also used to know a relative of President Buchanan in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  I think it is the nature of American politicians that they are always out in public, so they see a lot of people.  CIO

01/12/18 Friday 9:40 A.M.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/12/18 Friday 9:30 A.M.  When in Manhattan, I also used to spend a lot of time walking around East 65th Street where Roosevelt House, Nelson Rockefeller, and Richard Nixon lived and a lot of time at the Metropolitan Museum of Art across the street from Jack Kennedy's widow's apartment.  I do not use her name, because I do not know who to spell it.  I also used to have a distant relative that went to prep school with Jack Kennedy's wife's stepfather from Newport, Rhode Island.  Also my old friend from Syracuse, New York; James Edward Eldert had a grandfather in Key Biscayne, Florida that lived next door to Richard Nixon.  Also my brother in law's grandparents lived across the street from Nancy Reagan's parents in Arizona.  CIO

I am one of the smaller adults in town at 6 feet tall and 217 pounds.  If one wants to see even taller people, one should linger around the north side of the Greenwich train station between 5 A.M. and 8 A.M. on week days or the Junior Chamber of Commerce park across from www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue at lunch time on week days.  It is the nature of being a Presidential neighbor, one sees a lot of people.  Besides being a Bush family neighbor in Greenwich and Kennebunkport and a Trump neighbor in Greenwich, when I knew Helen Kress Williams in Oyster Bay, Long Island; she was Teddie Roosevelt's neighbor.  Also at www.lfc.edu my roommate my second year was Carter Bacon who was a Kennedy family neighbor in Hyannisport.  I also once was a Reagan neighbor, when I camped for a month at the state park in the mountains next to his ranch in Santa Barbara.  All of these rich politicians know each other, but they do not pay much attention to their neighbor's viewpoint.  CIO

01/12/18 Friday 8:25 A.M.  I toured the lobby of this place http://www.greenwichtime.com/news/article/Chaplin-to-Oprah-California-s-Montecito-is-a-12490472.php in November 1980, the day before Ronald Reagan was elected president.  I chatted with two guests who had bought my family's old house on Baldwin Farms South in Greenwich, and the husband was the head lawyer for Combustion Engineering which my father Louis Dale Scott had worked for.  I guess it is a mess now.  I will now shower and clean up after I go outside again.  CIO

01/11/18 Thursday 2:30 P.M.  I went outside again.  I chatted with an Hispanic neighbor, and he told me not to eat bread, pasta, or rice; and to eat more fruit.  I still like rice though.  I cleaned the Brita water containers, and I put a new Brita water filter in the larger one.  The smaller one, I rarely use.  I heated and ate the other half of the Knorr rice pilaf mixture which I ate with two White Castle cheeseburgers and a 12 ounce glass of diet Fresca.  I will now go outside again.  My neighbors told me there were tracks in the snow by the ball field of a full grown Puma.   CIO

01/11/18 Thursday 1:35 P.M.  I chatted with my neighbors outside.  My neighbors that do not use bottled water all have a lot of stomach gas.  My neighbors that use bottled water are fine.  I know they are working on the reservoir on North Street, so possibly our water is contaminated.  My stomach gas is so bad, I can barely stand myself inside.  Half gallons of Poland Spring water are on sale at www.cvs.com at 644 West Putnam Avenue for two for $3.  I may have to get some.  I chatted with http://www.greenwichct.org/government/departments/health_department/ , and they told me to call http://www.aquarion.com/CT/customerservice , which I did.  They suggested that I change my Brita water filter which I will do now.  They also said to let the cold water run a bit to clear out the pipes.  They have not had any other complaints.  CIO

01/11/18 Thursday 12:25 P.M.  I chatted with a relative.  I called up 611 on my AT&T GoPhone, and they extended the time of my balance of $490.07 to January 11, 2019.  It is my backup phone in case my Trump phone does not work.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/10/18 Wednesday 9:45 P.M.  The way I figure it, if one takes the Rockefeller's 15 billion dollars at 2.71% interest rate https://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/interest-rates/Pages/TextView.aspx?data=longtermrate equals $406,500,000 return a year divided by 300 family members equals $1,355,000 less the maximum IRS income rate of 39.6% equals $831,970 a year for each family member before state and local taxes less New York State taxes of 8.82% less $119,511 New York State taxes equals $712,459 a year before local taxes.  Of course not all of the Rockefeller family members are equal, so some of the odd generation trust people have more money than the even generation trust family members, since the even generation trust is derived from a small portion of the original trust.  $712,459 a year after taxes is a lot of money, and they obviously bought a lot of their possessions when they were cheaper, but when one considers their historical lifestyle that is not really that much money compared to what it was in the old days at today's prices.  For example, Bill Gate has to pay $500,000 a year property taxes on his $50 million dollar house.  I went back to bed.  CIO

01/10/18 Wednesday 7:50 A.M.  I went outside, and I chatted with neighbors.  I threw out the garbage.  I vacuumed the front entrance entry area of the apartment.  In the old days my father's company Chemstrand which made the Acrilan fiber for Mohawk, Bigelow and other major carpet manufacturers made Electrolux here in Greenwich quite prosperous, because Acrilan carpet at a $100 a square yard shed a lot, so people constantly had to vacuum it with Electrolux vacuum cleaners with power nozzle sweeps, and the Electrolux bag would fill quite fast with the Acrilan fiber, and each bag cost a dollar apiece.  I even learned how to empty the Acrilan fiber out of the small in the Electrolux bags to reuse the bag and save a dollar.  I now only have a complicated Hoover vacuum that cost $750 new at Linens and Things, and I bought it as a clearance item for $79 many moons ago.  I threw out and gave away my spare Hoover, Sears, and Electrolux vacuum cleaners.  Even when I used Fred Von Mierers apartment in Manhattan, Wilbur Banks from Greenwich showed up and sold Fred a new Electrolux vacuum system.  The Duke of Windsor used to be friends of the Swedish man that owned Electrolux, and he even in the 1930s dedicated a statue at the Electrolux factory in Old Greenwich, so there might be other British people around.  My history teacher at Greenwich Country Day was Harrison Hoffman who had been in the Royal Air Force.  He might have been the British resident that got paid $50,000 a year for writing a three page letter to Queen Elizabeth II every year.  Also there used to be British Colonel that lived in the Mark Twain showboat house on Lake Avenue, and one would always see him constantly walking, so I guess the British like the Scottish and other Europeans walk a lot.  As far as saving money much could be said about driving down to Greenwich Avenue for no purpose.  At 7 miles round trip that works out to about $2 a round trip.  On my budget that is a lot of money.  Current interest rates https://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/interest-rates/Pages/TextView.aspx?data=longtermrate .  CIO

01/10/18 Wednesday 6:50 A.M.  Actually, I do not know if I ever saw the real Nelson Rockefeller or not.  I met a number of people that looked like him, but none of them used his name, so he must have had a number of decoys that were well financed that look like him.  I attended the Tall Ships festival on July 4, 1974, when Gerry Ford was President and he was Vice President; but there were two million people around, so it was hard to recognize anyone particularly after living in the quaint southern town of Greenville, South Carolina for six months.  Relatives and Greenwich friends watched the Tall Ships from the top floor of the www.chase.com building on Wall Street, so maybe he was with that group.  Also on July 5, 1976, when I saw Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip at Bloomingdales department store, he might have been around, but I did not recognize him.  I know he lived in a triplex apartment on Fifth Avenue between 65th and 67th street just north of the Pierre Hotel, and he always parked his 1968 brown and tan Oldsmobile 98 with New York License Plate 1908 in front of it, but his first wife actually had the top two floors, so maybe he had other places to go.  Also I was told in 1984, one of his younger sons used to visit somebody here in Greenwich on Pecksland Road near where his architect Taylor Sterling lived on Mayfair Lane.  The www.nytimes.com wrote a year ago, the Rockefellers have 300 relatives for the $15 billion trust, which works out at 4% interest less than a hundred thousand dollars a year after taxes.  When Fred Von Mierers knew them, he told me they owned two hundred homes, estates or properties worldwide, so their house keeping must be quite complex.  CIO

01/06/18 Saturday 4:10 A.M.  Helen Kress Williams used to have two big stone pineapples on the front gate brick pillars of her 40 acre estate on the waterfront in Oyster Bay, Long Island.  She said that was the sign of Christian Hospitality from the old days when the Christian missionaries from Boston sailed off to Hawaii.  Also, I once bought for ten cents at the former Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop, a small book published by www.yale.edu listing the first two hundred years of Yale missionaries.  I send it down to the George H.W. Bush White House, since I figured they did not have a copy.  I never received a reply back.  The most common family name in the book was Livingston which was also the name of the first governor of New York.  In the old days, when missionaries were sent out, they frequently never returned or would after several generations.  If one does not watch television all night and morning, one can always figure out ways to keep busy.  One could also make Pigs on a Blanket by using the buttermilk biscuit dough and flatten it out and wrap it around a half of a hotdog before cooking it.  A lot of the people I knew in Manhattan and Long Island attended http://stbarts.org/ on the north side of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.  CIO

01/06/18 Saturday 3:40 A.M.  I put my Dole pineapple on a cutting board with recessed groves, and I cut each end off, and I used this https://www.ebay.com/itm/Easy-Gadget-Kitchen-Fruit-Pineapple-Corer-Slicer-Cutter-Peeler-Stainless-Steel/112207953964?epid=1239272662&hash=item1a201d802c:g:2UoAAOSwux5YLlfq to core the pineapple, and I cut the sliced into one inch square chunks, which I put in a Rubbermaid container with the pineapple juice from cutting it, and I added a tablespoon of Angostura bitters and a quarter cup of lemon juice, and I mixed it all together, and I refrigerated it with lid on.  I will now go outside and throw out the pineapple peels and other garbage.  I am now listening to Benny Goodman radio.  CIO

01/06/18 Saturday 2:50 A.M.  I am making up http://mikelouisscott.com/mlsrice.htm .  In a separate microwave proof plastic pot with lid, I put in a 20 ounce can of Dinty Moore stew that expired November 2017 with two tablespoons of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce and three tablespoons of soy sauce and dashes of garlic powder, ground black pepper, and Italian seasoning, and I stirred it all together, and I will microwave it for seven minutes on 60% powder.  I will eat half the rice with half of the Dinty Moore on it, and I will refrigerate the rest in a Rubbermaid Container in the refrigerator.  I will eat it with a 12 ounce glass of diet Fresca.  CIO

01/06/18 Saturday 2:25 A.M.  I went outside again.  When I walked around the building yesterday morning there were 20 inch long foot prints in the snow on the back side of the building, so maybe Yeti is around.  Of course the wind could have made regular foot prints bigger.  Although Vinci Drive is plowed, I guess the Town of Greenwich, Connecticut has no sand or salt to put on Vinci Drive, because there is no traction on the road at Vinci Drive.  If it is like that here, it must be a lot worse in back country Greenwich.  I guess in the severe cold, the thin layer of snow and ice just turns into a slippery sheet of ice.  As I said earlier in my 2005 Volvo XC70 Volvo wagon with fairly new all season tires in four wheel drive on the flat plowed surface of Vinci Drive, I have no traction to even move the car a short distance.  I am pretty sure if I made it out Vinci Drive, I would not make it up our hill coming back in.  The main roads might be cleared, but it does not do many any good, if I can not get out of here and back in.  I might have to wait until this Monday, when it warms up a bit.  CIO

01/05/18 Friday 9:50 P.M.  Back in the winter of 1974 Fred Von Mierers and myself met somebody in the West Village that looked like George W. Bush or the King of Spain.  We bought breakfast for him at the Pink Teacup in the West Village.  We then went back to Fred's apartment at 420 East 49th Street.  What is strange is that Fred had him leave the apartment at 4 A.M., when it was about zero degrees Fahrenheit outside.  If it were one of the two people mentioned, that might have gotten Fred into trouble.  Fred had lived with Richard Nixon's ambassador to Spain, so he also spoke fluent Spanish.  Fred knew Sarah Churchill back then, and she worked in a soup kitchen in Manhattan for needy people.  The face mask with three holes does not work too well, since it is hard to breath through the nose with it.  The face mask with one big hole over the eyes, nose and mouth is easier to use, but it is not as warm.  It is nine degrees Fahrenheit outside and windy http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.04904598378624&lon=-73.62304748575207&site=all&smap=1#.WlA39jdryUl .  CIO

01/05/18 Friday 5:30 A.M.  In the old days, the active duty Strategic Air Command now called the Air Defense Command www.norad.mil officers were required to carry Colt 45 side arms and were authorized to shoot anyone that got in their way in they way when they were responding to a "Red Alert".  It is probably the same way today, but more high tech, so you do not want to get caught in the Cross Fire, if they ever go on alert.  However, they usually live on www.af.mil bases and the area, so they do not come in contact with too many nosey civilians.  However, when the President from www.wh.gov are is around, they NORAD officers are also all around them, so they can be very ballistic, so you really do not want to get in their way.  Even when George H.W. 01/04/18 Thursday 8:20 P.M.  Fred Von Mierers, once told me that the "Old Guard" in Manhattan used to have a white tie Viennese ball every night in Manhattan that nobody ever knew about.  Of course with my friends, they could have used a horse and sleigh to get there this time of year.  In Russia, they say, "do not get out of the Troika, or the wolves will eat you."  When I used to drive in the snow here in the winter in my old White Volvo with a stick shift which is better on snow for down shifting and up shifting for traction, I would see snow mobiles moving on the Post Road.  In Bedford, New York; they used to sell snow shoes, if anyone needs them.  As I said before in Far Hills, New Jersey, there is a snow mobile shop.  More than likely www.navistar.com vehicles would not have any problem traveling through this snow.  This is the first heavy snow of the season, and we might have three more months or more of winter.  Once when I flew back from Tobago in the first week of May in 1971, there was a fresh snow fall of six inches on the ground at J.F.K, airport.  I don't think we are living on the edge of the tropics anymore.  When I was at the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut around 1968, I once visited Greenwich with Lynn Sergeant the hockey coach that had a ranch in Montana, and he was driving one of those new big Chrysler station wagons like they still have in Washington D.C. and in the deep snow with snow tires with studs, he had no problems making it up the steep hill on North Maple Avenue near Dorothy Bush and Avery Rockefeller.  CIO

01/04/18 Thursday 8:05 P.M.  The driveway is mostly plowed out in front, but a lot of the cars parked there might be plowed in a bit.  The metal ash tray and the Maxwell coffee can disappeared off the picnic table in back in the high wind, so they might be buried in a snow drift.  Down in Key West in the old days, the old timers would sit by a couple of picnic tables near the Southern Most house and play dominoes all day.  CIO

01/04/18 Thursday 7:35 P.M.  I went through http://scott-mike.com/bf.htm .  I will now go outside again, after I turn on Tommy Dorsey again.  CIO

01/04/18 Thursday 7:05 P.M.  I chatted with a friend.  I guess we had six to eight inches of powdery snow that blew into drifts up to four feet deep.  There are very strong winds out.  CIO

01/04/18 Thursday 6:30 P.M.  No snow out on Nantucket http://www.themaurypeople.com/live-webcam .  CIO

01/04/18 Thursday 6:25 P.M.  I went outside again.  The building custodian is working very hard to clear the sidewalks with all of the high piles of drifting snow.  There are jets landing at the Westchester County airport.  I am now sure about the road conditions.  I think I will wait two or three days before going downtown, until life is back to normal.  I have a 1:30 P.M. appointment tomorrow that I will probably cancel.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I will now shower and clean up.  I guess it is the winter of our discontent.  It is currently 24 degrees Fahrenheit outside and very windy http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.04904598378624&lon=-73.62304748575207&site=all&smap=1#.Wk62ZjdryUl .  It is supposed to be very cold at night for a next four days or so.  I guess we should still keep the Freezing Norwegian patrol on active duty.  French Canadians probably do not think this is very much snow.  There used to be an all weather Norwegian Helicopter for oil rigs out at McArthur airport on Long Island that could easily fly through this weather.  CIO

01/04/18 Thursday 5:20 P.M.  I went outside, and there was not much snow on my Volvo wagon.  The strap on the windshield cover had broken, and the windshield cover had blown off the car.  I had about a 15 inch high powdery snow drift behind my Volvo wagon, but I have four wheel drive and fairly new all season tires, so I was able to drive out of my snow covered parking place, and park it in a cleared parking space.  There is a lot of high drifting powdery snow around, so it is hard to tell how much snow we got.  I do not think we have mail delivery today.  I chatted with a relative.  CIO

01/04/18 Thursday 4:20 P.M.  I woke up, and I ate 12 ounces of whole cashew nuts.  I finally woke up at 4 P.M.. CIO

01/04/18 Thursday 5:50 A.M.  A neighbor who plows snow told me we are supposed to get 6 to 12 inches of snow http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.04904598378624&lon=-73.62304748575207&site=all&smap=1#.Wk4FRzdryUl .  I will now shut down the primary work computer, and I will eat a Dannon low fat Greek fruit yogurt, and I will go to bed.  CIO

01/04/18 Thursday 5:20 A.M.  Back in those days in Manhattan from October 1973 to February 1975, Dannon yogurt at the Gristedes on East 49th street was four for a dollar.  There was a Greek restaurant on the northeast corner of 50th street and First Avenue where breakfast of two egg, three strips of bacon, a toasted English muffin, a four ounce glass of orange juice, and a cup of coffee with cream and sugar was $2.50 and .50 tip.  At 52nd Street and 2nd Avenue, the Thieves Deli had a liverwurst sandwich for $2.  The Mayfair restaurant on the southeast corner of 54th street and First Avenue was about $4 for a pork chop with candied apple and baked potato with a draft beer and $1 tip.  Fresh croissants from Paris, France flown in on the Concorde were .59 at the bakery on the southeast corner of 49th street and Second Avenue.  Fred had a charge account at the liquor just north of the British consulate.  There was a place at Madison Avenue and about 67th street on the west side where the same breakfast could be had.  There was an Arthur Treacher's fish and chips at Third Avenue and around 65th street on the northwest corner were fish and chips could be had for $3.  There was a cafeteria at around Madison Avenue and 77th Street on the northeast corner  where a meatloaf, mash potatoes, and vegetable dinner, roll with butter, and a carton of milk could be had for about $3.50.  You do not need to tip at a cafeteria.  There was a 24 hour automat at around 2nd Avenue and 41st Street on the southwest corner, where a pretty good meal could be had for $2.  At www.rockefeller.edu at East 68th Street and York Avenue, there was a cafeteria where one could get an apple, a Dannon yogurt, and a carton of milk for $2 with all of the Fellows and Noble laureates.  There was the Old Dutch Deli on the south side of 86th street just east of Third Avenue, where one could get a roast beef sandwich on a Kaiser roll with a pint of cream for $2.  At Second Avenue on the east side and about 84th street there was a Hungarian restaurant where one could get goulash for $2.  There was a Philadelphia steak sandwich on the south side of 86th street just east of Second Avenue for $1.59.  There was Old Heidelberg where sourer brat ten and boiled potatoes and big stein of beer was about $4.50 and .50 tip.  On the East side of Second Avenue and 72nd and 73rd street where Fry's and J.G. Mellons where a bacon blue cheeseburger with French Fries was $2.50 and .50 tip.  Just south of there on the east side of Second Avenue with the same deal was Country Cousin and Churchills.  On Tuesday night the wealthy people in the area could eat at the Metropolitan Museum of Art cafeteria for a one inch thick prime rib of beef with Yorkshire pudding and vegetables, and a 8 ounce carton of milk for $7.  Schraff's on the east side of Fifth Avenue would serve a hamburger with French fries and a www.coke.com for $4 and .50 tip.  Tad's steak house at 32nd street and Broadway on the east side would serve a half inch thick steak with baked potato with butter for $1.79.  Pete's Tavern on the east side of Madison Avenue and 17th street would serve the same bacon blue cheese burger with fries and Coke for about $4 and .50 tip.  There was another 24 hour cafeteria at Madison Avenue and 32nd street that was surround by taxis, but I never ate there.   There was the Brasserie in the basement of the Seagram's building at 53nd street on the East side of Park Avenue which was opened 24 hours.  A spinach omelet with home fries cooked in olive oil and a glass of orange juice and a cup of coffee with cream and sugar cost $4 with a .50 tip.  In the Greenwich Village, there was the Souvlaki stand on the west side of University Place and 13th street that cost a $1.29 for a Greek souvlaki.  At one time the Nine Circle was one of the oldest steak houses in Manhattan, but they only briefly served food there, because it was a popular student pub. On the West side of Greenwich Street and Charles street there was a 24 hour restaurant that served eggs Florentine with English muffin with coffee cream and sugar for $2 and .50 tip.  David's Pot Belly on Christopher Street would serve a custom made three egg omelet with two or three ingredients for $3 and.50 for coffee and .50 tip.  The Old Dutch Tavern I think on Grove Place just south of Christopher street served two stuffed pork chops with candied apple slices and a glass of milk for $4 and .50 tip.  The Waverley Inn on Waverly Place served a half of a roasted Peking Duck for $8 with wild rice and a glass of white wine for $1 and a dollar tip.  The Spring Street restaurant where a friend of mine work served stuffed Dover sole with a 6 ounce glass of white wine for $5 and a dollar tip.  The Bagel restaurant near Washington Square on the west side served the same breakfast for $3 and .50 tip.  The Buffalo Road House and the Rivera Cafe served the same bacon blue cheeseburger with fries and a 8 ounce glass of milk for $4 and .50 tip.  There was a vegetarian restaurant called the Front Porch on Grove Place where a meal could be had for $2 and .50 tip.  There was Down on the Farm somewhere in the West Village a Portuguese restaurant where one sat on the floor and a multi course meal could be had for $4 and a dollar tip.  There was the Eagle bar where a cheeseburger could be had for $2 because it was near the meat packing district. There was the Empire Diner at 9th Avenue and 21 street where the usual breakfast could be had for $3 and .50 tip.  There was Daly's Dandelion at 59th street on the First Avenue on the corner where the same hamburger meal with a white wine spritzer was $2.79, but I did not have to tip since I had friends that worked there near Ford Modeling.   There was Daly's Daffodil and across the street from Yellow fingers on Third Avenue and 59th street where the same meals could be had for the same price.  There was the Isle of Capri's on the west side of Third Avenue at 62nd Street where Fettuccini Alfredo and a glass of white wine was $8 and $2 tip.  Fred ate there a lot with clients so he tipped lavishly to get good service, before he became more upscale at started taking clients to Le Cirge at the Pierre Hotel.  One could eat plate of spare ribs and drink a Samoan Fog Cutter at Trader Vics at the Plaza Hotel for about $7 and a $1 tip.  On the west side of Second Avenue and 10th street there was Pearls, where one could get a traditional southern cooked meal for $5 and a dollar tip.  There was the Pink Tea Cup just south of Christopher street where one could get the same breakfast for $2.50 and .50 tip.  There was also a 24 diner on the east side of Seventh Avenue and 11th street, where the same breakfast for the same price.  A lot of people in Manhattan eat breakfast all of the time because it is cheaper.  At 72nd Street and Third Avenue on the west side, there was a 24 hour bagel shop where on could get a dozen fresh bagels for $2.  At University Place and Seventh Avenue on the west side, there was Coney Island franks for .50.  Nearby at Balducci's at 9th street on the West Side of Seventh Avenue, one could get a big red apple for .59.  Just north of that on the West side of Seventh Avenue was Ray's famous pizza for .59 for a slice, and they had another branch on the West side of Third Avenue and 73rd Street.  At Julius restaurant one could get a cheeseburger with a beer for$2.50 and .50 tip.  I never ate at the Old Homestead on West 14th street in the Meat Packing district, but I saw a lot of Cadillac limos out front.  I once ate at the German restaurant on the south side of Union Square and it was about $7 and a dollar tip for a good hearty German meal.  Elaine's on the West side of Second Avenue and 87th street would serve the same hamburger meal with a beer for $4 and a dollar tip.  I used to shop at the A&P at 7th Avenue and 19th street during the three months I lived in Chelsea.  Across from the F.D.R. post office building on Third Avenue, there was a Lums, where a hotdog with sauerkraut was about .59.  I also went to a Taft School alumni dinner at the Union League Club which was about $10 for a multi course meal with beverages.  I was the only younger person there, besides on hippie, I did not recognize.  I remember chatting a dinner partner, and she was upset that the Cos Cob power plant was polluting the paint on her house in Riverside like I owned the railroad.  I also once had a drink at El Morroco with Fred Von Mieres and Jim Eldert and their dates.  They were upset with me, because Fred left a note on his Pullman bar to meet him at El Morroco, but it was for Jim and not me.  On of the most important places in Fred's suppply chain was McNulty's coffee and tea shop on Christopher street where Vienese Blend coffee with $8 a pound.  Coffee became popular in Vienna, Austria after the turks withdrew and left lots of bags of coffee.  That was just in the period from October 1973 to February 1975, when I checked out Manhattan.  Of course one has to walk a lot to get to all of those places or use expensive public transportation, if one can afford it.  Also in that period Marlboros went from .59 to $1.29.  I returned again from November 1980 to February 1982, when I was using Julie Bolton's apartment at West 74th street, but that is an even leaner food story.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/04/18 Thursday 3:35 A.M.  Good news, I found on the white bookcase a new can of Carpet Cleaner that I bought for 75 cents at Odd Job a few years ago.  Thus when the mud season is over in the late spring, I can clean my front entry way carpet.  CIO

01/04/18 Thursday 3:30 A.M.   I went outside again.  The only reason I think somebody might have pinched my 1965 Greenwich Country Day year book is that Nan Rockefeller started the school with a whole of her church and Red Cross friends in a garage.  Basically there were Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, Fricks, Dodges, and Warburgs in my class, whom people thought might be influential; however in the real world wealthy people usually live a long time, so ever by age 80, they might still relatives over a hundred years old controlling the purse strings.  Those relatives remember, when people worked for a dollar a day or less during the Great Depression.  Also somebody named Michael Scott at www.harvard.edu in 1918 wrote the laws of estates and trusts that are still on the books today.  Frequently large family fortunes only go to the odd generations in a trust, and the even generations have a smaller portion trust to live off of.  Not to mention what was a lot of money in the old days might not be too  much money at today's prices.  When I chatted Helen Kress Williams a couple of times, she told me she would make an A&P tea bag last a week, and then she would use it in her garden.  Living next door to Teddy Roosevelt in Oyster Bay and being friends with Eleanor Roosevelt and being the head trustee of https://www.vassar.edu/ she knew a lot of people.  She once mentioned the Blizzard of 1888 which was caused by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krakatoa .  Even after she died driving herself in her 1957 Earle Schweib copper painted Chevrolet station wagon good for moving antiques and art work in Glen Cove, Long Island automobile accident; I did see somebody in Key West later on that looked like her around the Kress Department store down there that became "Fast Buck Freddie's" with a lot of odd items.  Maybe Helen Kress Williams knew Tennessee Williams that Fred Von Mieres also introduced me to on East 54th Street.  One of my first errands for Fred was to deliver a bunch of roses to "David Wise" on Beekman Place who wrote the definitive book on the www.cia.gov and https://www.amazon.com/Invisible-Government-David-Wise/dp/0394430778 .  At the time Huntington Hartford, John D. Rockefeller, the British Ambassador to the United Nations, and the Shah of Iran's niece all lived on Beekman Place.  Henry Kissinger and Gretta Garbo lived on East 52nd Street near the River Club.  Abby Rockefeller that nobody ever heard of lived on East 52nd Street in a Phillip Johnson house that took up a half of a block.  The www.ford.com foundation was just two blocks south of Fred's apartment.  On East 54th Street where Fred later moved, Ima MacDonald that looked like the Queen Mum of England lived in the same building that Noel Coward and Ted Kennedy and Joe MacDonald had apartments.  I once saw John and Oko Lennon at a bakery outside that building.  The headquarters for the Archdiocese of New York was a block further north.  Maryland Monroe and Joe DiMaggio lived on East 57th street on the River.  Walter Cronkite also lived on Sutton Place.  The British, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and French consulates were nearby.  Paul Mellon's son owned the Florist on First Avenue just north of 50th Street on the East side of the street.  I never spent much time around midtown on Fifth Avenue, because it was too busy. Howard Hughes and Katharine Hepburn also lived on East 49th street.  The Waldorf Astoria was at 49th Street and Park Avenue as was British Airway nearby and a few other buildings.  Also at the time, www.citibank.com was building their new building which I could watch being built.  It went down about five to seven stories.  The Franklin Delano Roosevelt post office building was nearby, which probably had Federal offices.   I once saw General Al Haig in five star general's uniform driving a black Nash Rambler park there.  When I tried to follow him to see where he was going, he ditched me in the new Citicorp building.  Fred's partner Taylor Sterling had an office apartment just near the old Citibank building.  He also had a house on Mayfair Lane here in Greenwich.  I basically ditched Manhattan back in February 1975, because I do not particularly like crowds, and there were no younger people around.  Also back then President Kennedy's widow worked at the Random House nearby.  I also keep an eye on East 65th Street where the Pierre Hotel owned by J. Paul Getty, Nelson Rockefeller at Fifth, the Warburgs, the Roosevelts, the Nixons who wrote all the tax laws before he became President, and the Russian Consulate were.  Thus like out here I did a bit of walking in Manhattan.  Try walking from East 49th street to the Metropolitan Museum of Art at 83rd Street and Fifth Avenue, where they would let me in for a nickle.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/04/18 Thursday 2:20 A.M.  I am listening to the "Tommy Dorsey" music station on Pandora on my Iphone 3GS cell phone on the Philips speaker docking station for 30 pin Apple cell phones off the apartment wireless.  I had a lot of gadgets that I had not set up or ones that needed batteries that I use.  A lot of my old fashioned gadgets, I bought when they were less expensive.  Over 29 years of being frugal which is the town of Greenwich motto, I acquired a lot of small gadgets not to mention the thousands of dollars of expensive computer equipment and other items I had to throw out when I decluttered my apartment.  However, not having to maintain over 15 computers anymore saves me a bit of time.  The way I figure it, if there is a national emergency, a savvy www.redcross.org volunteer can email the casualty lists instead of printing them out.  I also add a vision of about ten tiny people being able to work efficiently in this apartment, if need be.  However, certain dumb clucks do not think there are any tiny people around who are not younger people.  I saw a man about 4 foot 8 inches tall at www.cvs.com with a huge body guard the other night.  Tiny people have obviously made money off computers and the internet, since a lot of the parts are very tiny.  Also tiny people eat less food and lead simpler lifestyles, so they tend to save money and be the investors that invest in some of these tiny people ventures.  I think they keep me around for moving Queen Anne chairs and other items like that.  Fred Von Mierers called his apartment at 420 East 49th Street, "The Mouse Palace", so I call this place "The Mouse Palace East" based on what I can afford, not Fred's fifty thousand dollar a year income back in  1973 or what ever it is today.  He had a half million dollars of antiques in the apartment, so I had to keep an eye on them.  The only things I ever took from Fred's apartment was a little white wine and coffee and about $40 in bills from his blue jeans for doing errands.  He did once throw a dinner party for about 12 people in that tiny place.  I once had to go to New York City court with him and several friends at the Federal building in New York where Richard Nixon had his office for playing music too loud in the apartment.  However, Fred's girl friend at the time was a little deaf.  I also got punched in the forehead by one of his carpenters building a small closet in the apartment which gave me a cist that I had taken off a couple of years later at the Greenwich Hospital.  The carpenter did not like the way I talked from what I could tell.  I came off www.nantucket.net in the spring of 1978 to have the cist removed at the Greenwich Hospital and returned back to Nantucket the same day and showed up at work at the Le Languedoc, and I hit my forehead on the ceiling which messed up the surgery, so I still have a scar on my forehead.  Incidents like that others not mentioned is why I avoid Manhattan, and stay close to Greenwich Avenue and the Greenwich Police station when out, which tend to be relatively safe by New York standards.  However, there is always a lot of traffic which is always unsafe.  Also some tiny people are very good surgeons, so they make a lot of money. CIO

01/04/18 Thursday 1:10 P.M.  I went outside again.  I did some more apartment tweaking.  I activated the long distance wireless off my home network.  With snow coming, they say we might get more.  In the old days when this area got a lot of snow www.wm.com had the heavy equipment to move it.  Also www.navistar.com also made the heavy equipment.  One of my friends used to know something about snow, because he spent time at www.stowe.com .  However, we all get older, so we are not as efficient as we once might have been.  I ordered https://www.homedepot.com/p/ACDelco-Super-Alkaline-AAA-Battery-48-Pack-AC274/206084014?cm_mmc=Shopping|THD|google|&mid=sF2BZPNpH|dc_mtid_8903tb925190_pcrid_111415680425_pkw__pmt__product_206084014_slid_&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1-2p-c692AIVj7bACh2AbABJEAYYCCABEgLXwfD_BwE for $10.30 and .65 tax for $10.95 total with free shipping.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/03/18 Wednesday 10:05 P.M.  Fred Von Mierers old telephone number at 420 East 49th Street in Manhattan that still works is 1-212-722-4072.  That is right next to the German consulate to the www.un.org .  For all I know he might be the German ambassador to the United Nations.  He spoke about nine or more different languages fluently back in 1975.  The last time I actually spoke with him personally around 1989, he was reading old five inch thick five hundred year old books in Chinese, which he might have gotten from the Morgan Library in Manhattan.  At the time he told me he was working for Mrs. Vanderbilt in Newport, Rhode Island.  He told me Helen Kress Williams used to chose the President of J.P. Morgan for what it is worth.  CIO

01/03/18 Wednesday 9:25 P.M.  I chatted with a relative.  I have been straightening up thing in the apartment.  I even found Fred Von Mierers old telephone number at 420 East 49th Street, and the phone still rings.  I also noticed that for some odd reason, my Greenwich Country Day Class of 1965 year book has disappeared, but I still have my Taft class of 1968 year book.  I think both of them were water damaged, so it does not really matter.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/03/18 Wednesday 7:55 P.M.  Well, for now the H.M.S. Mike Scott has put out to sea.  CIO

01/03/18 Wednesday 7:25 P.M.  I chatted with a friend who I thought was on vacation in Bequis because his cell phone was not working.  Apparently he was in the hospital for a week with pneumonia.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/03/18 Wednesday 7:00 P.M.  I went outside again.  I have been tweaking the apartment which basically includes various items I already have and moving them around a bit.  I think that is also called "Interior Decoration".  Of course besides the people in the business I met in the Big Apple, I have quite a few relatives whom know a thing or two about it too.  I also setup the Sound Machine that I just opened on the Craig DVD player, and I am currently playing the Ocean sound, so I can pretend I am on the beach in http://www.lanzarote.com/ or some other remote location trying to relax.  Well, President Donald www.wh.gov Trump is used to running Five Star establishments, which means those whom know something about it have to keep busy, but those with minimal budgets have to do the best that they can.  CIO

01/03/18 Wednesday 4:40 P.M.  I picked up the mail.  I got my new www.aarp.org cards.  I also got a $4 off $20 coupon for www.cvs.com I made up a batch of Knorr 5.6 ounce Teriyaki flavor rice, and I ate half and refrigerated the other half in a Rubbermaid container.  I ate it with two White Castle cheeseburgers and a 12 ounce glass of diet Fresca.  I am listening to vintage Beatles music.  About a week ago, I saw somebody that looked Paul McCartney coming out of the East End Bar on lower Greenwich Avenue walking towards the Delamar Hotel, but a lot of old English dudes look like that.  CIO

01/03/18 Wednesday 3:45 P.M.  Back around Christmas Time in 1973, I picked George Cary up at Newark airport coming from East Aurora, New York.  The previous day, the New York City police department had towed my blue 1971 Volvo sedan off Beekman Place, and I had to pay $200 at the car pound to get it out, so I was low on money.  I drove George to his grandfather's farm in Gladstone, New Jersey in a snow storm, and the heat was at about 50 degrees Fahrenheit in the house.  His grandmother had moved to a nursing home because it was so cold.  I met Jay Coogan his grandfather who was the last living member of Queen Victoria's honor guard.  We changed out clothes for a party in Manhattan.  On the way into Manhattan in the snow storm, the fan belt broke, and a snow mobile shop in Far Hills, New Jersey was able to replace it after working hours inexpensively.  Far Hills, New Jersey was where the www.forbes.com family lived, and I even once spent a weekend in 1974 visiting with them.  The Forbes are Scottish, so they are frugal.  Years later when I was camping out in Fort Lauderdale, Florida around the Forbes Yacht "The Highlander" at Pier 66, I knew a few other people with yachts too, so I was not just a Forbes wharf rat.  Now that the Forbes family have downsized and only own 5% percent of the magazine, I could have given them some good business advise that as cheap Scottish people they probably would not listen to.  The Forbes magazine type is too small, and rich older people need larger type or print to read.  Thus by being cheap Scottish, they lost their wealthiest readers.  Of course with tiny print, they use less paper.  They are also supposed to own the Honda franchise in New Jersey, so possibly that makes a little money for them.  The new tech instructions I get on some devices have such small print, that one needs to use a magnifying glass, so I guess paper is expensive in China. I once heard about a wealthy Saudi Arabian that used to buy toilet paper to write on, because it was cheap.  Obviously paper in the Middle East where they have less trees, is more expensive.  I even saw on a Netflix video from a cheap apartment in London, they still use old magazines for toilet paper of bum wad.  I just chatted with a relative.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/03/18 Wednesday 1:50 P.M.  I went outside again.  I moved the little brass and glass side table from the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner to the left side of the Queen Anne chair.  I put the magazine rack on the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner.  I chatted with a relative.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/03/18 Wednesday 10:45 A.M.   I woke up at 10 A.M..  I went outside.  I made my bed.  I turned the thermostats down 4 degrees Fahrenheit in both rooms.  The living room thermostat is now at 74 degrees Fahrenheit, and the bedroom thermostat is now at 64 degrees Fahrenheit.  Not much mention of this in the news back east https://www.stapletonforcolorado.com/ .  I chatted with a relative.  The relative thinks it is going to warm up in a couple of days, but not according to this http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.04904598378624&lon=-73.62304748575207&site=all&smap=1#.Wkz59zdryUl .  CIO

01/03/18 Wednesday 4:35 A.M.  I took four large eggs, and I broke them in a mixing bowl.  I added two tablespoons of milk, a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, Italian seasoning, and a tablespoon of grated parmesan and Romano cheese.  I whisked it all together.  I then put three tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in my 10 inch seasoned omelet pan, and I heated it on medium high electric burner heat.  Once the oil was hot, I swirled it around the pan, and I added the egg mixture, and I turned the electric burner heat down to medium.  Once the egg mixture was cooked well enough on the bottom side, I flipped it with a spatula, and I added six .25 inch by 1.5 inch by 1.5 inch slices of Cracker Barrel Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese on one side, and then I flipped the other side over it. I let it heat for about another minute, and I put it on a dinner plate with grated parmesan and Romano cheese on top of it.  I ate it with a toasted English muffin with Smart Balance spread and Smucker's raspberry jelly, and ten Banquet maple sausages and a 12 ounce glass of diet Fresca.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/02/18 Tuesday 11:15 P.M.   I got a Christmas letter from Robert Schuler Jr. of the www.hourofpower.org .  He is part of the Reform Church of America that is affiliated with the Dutch Reform Church of America.  His mother was on the board of trustees of www.hope.edu in Holland, Michigan.  I met his father about 32 years ago.  I met him over at the Stamford, Connecticut mall, when he was signing copies of his new book.  There were about 50 older ladies there from the Dutch Reform Church in Rye, New York.  He even prayed for me, and life started getting a bit better.  I never visited their former church the Crystal Cathedral in California, but I was near it, when I drove along the beach in Huntington Beach, California looking at all of the surfers and oil wells.  CIO

01/02/18 Tuesday 10:45 P.M.  I woke up, and I ate 10 Carr's whole wheat crackers with 1.25 inch by 1.25 inch by 3/32nds inch slices of Cracker Barrel Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese.  I chatted with a relative at 4:30 P.M..  I woke up at 10 P.M..  I went outside.  I picked up the mail.  I am installing the Windows 7 updates on the Dell Latitude E6400 laptop computer. CIO

01/02/18 Tuesday 11:50 A.M.  I ran the Norton Utilities 16 on the Dell Latitude E6400 laptop.  I then did a System restore backup.  I still need to install some more updates at a later time.  However, it seems to be running just fine and a lot faster than Windows 10, since it is an older laptop.  I shut it down.  I will now shut down the primary work computer, and I will eat a 5.4 ounce Dannon Greek low fat fruit yogurt, and I will go to bed. CIO

01/02/18 Tuesday 11:20 A.M.  I drove a neighbor to the Greenwich Hospital.  I then went by the www.chase.com bank at Deerfield Place.  I then went by the Wells Fargo Bank next door, and I paid my rent to the Greenwich Housing Authority.  I then went downtown to the Senior and the Arts Center, and I got a new parking permit for $5.  I took the old permit out of the windshield, and I put the new one on the inside of the windshield.  I then went by www.cvs.com .  I bought ten 3.75 ounce tins of Bumble Bee sardines for .99 each and a Snickers candy bar for .34 less a $10 off Bonus Bucks coupon for .24 total.  With that purchase I got a 40% off regular price coupon, so I bought https://www.atomiclighter.com/ for $19.99 less $8 with the 40% off bonus bucks coupon and .76 tax for $12.75 total.  I then sat outside briefly across the street in the little park.  I then returned home.  I sat outside, and I chatted with a neighbor.  I have finished installing the Windows 7 SP2 update on the Dell Latitude E6400 laptop.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/02/18 Tuesday 8:20 A.M.  I will now change my clothes, and I will go downtown to pay my rent.  I also have $10 in bonus bucks to use some time at www.cvs.com .  I also need to get a new parking permit at the Senior and the Arts center.  Off to the races.  CIO

01/02/18 Tuesday 7:35 A.M.  I put the little oak chair with the candy cane cushion back at the bedroom desk.  I moved one of the larger oak chairs from the oak dining table into the kitchen, so it is more comfortable to sit there and watch television.  I put another oak chair from the oak dining table in front of the right living room closet with my two most frequently used winter coats hanging from it to have available to put my shoes on and off at the apartment entrance without walking into the apartment and getting it dirty.  Thus only the two eating place oak chairs are at the oak dining table.  When I was at the Winter Olympics in Albertville, France in 1992 http://mikelouisscott.com/mlsparis.jpg , I showed an interest in the Winter Olympics, so with the upcoming Winter Olympics https://www.pyeongchang2018.com/en/index , I now my Pied a Terre in America setup for user friendly Olympic television viewing, and who knows somebody might stop by to visit some day, if I ever happen to be on a day schedule again.

On the Dell Latitude e6400 laptop, I quit trying to install the Windows 7 SP2 update, because it was taking too long.  I installed the Norton Utilities 16, and I ran them.  I am now trying to install Windows 7 SP2 upgrade again.  It seems if it works, it might take a while; so I will just let the laptop run for now.  I went outside again.  It is 12 degrees Fahrenheit here http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.04904598378624&lon=-73.62304748575207&site=all&smap=1#.WktVKzdryUl , and it is minus 6 degrees Fahrenheit in Kennebunkport, Maine http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=43.3626&lon=-70.4701#.WktVVTdryUk . It is 14 degrees Fahrenheit in Washington D.C. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=38.8904&lon=-77.032#.WktVijdryUk .  The last time I was there around 1990, it was zero degrees Fahrenheit http://mikelouisscott.com/mlsdc.jpg  , and as you could see I was not very warmly dressed, or I was more used to colder weather.  I do not know why I brought the umbrella on a cold day.  I also was wearing a new pair of Clark bass wejuns, so walking around the mall, my feet began to really hurt.  Never wear a new pair of shoes around Washington D.C..  CIO

01/02/18 Tuesday 1:30 A.M.  A quick summary of this story https://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/weakening-polar-vortex-may-yield-longer-harsher-winters-in-north-america/70000025 , it says become of Global Warming in the artic thawing the winter ice, the warmer air in the artic is sending the colder air in the Artic down south for us to enjoy.  Back in the winter of 1975, Fred Von Mierers, George Nichols, and myself used a U-haul trailer to move Helen Kress Williams out of her gate house cottage on her 40 acre estate on the waterfront in Oyster Bay, Long Island to a nice house next to the fire house in Locust Valley.  We also painted kitchen white, and I tried to fix her old grandfather's clock to no avail.  She had a large collection of famous men's mustache cups.  Near the house and the fire house in Oyster Bay, there was a pub called "Sporters" with a whole lot of young guys wearing Orange parkas, so I thought they might be Dutch or went to www.princeton.edu .  There was also a Winter Club out there, where one could ice skate.  They even sold Norwegian Ringness beer in Oyster Bay.  The King of Norway was a member of the http://www.seawanhaka.org/ in Oyster Bay during World War II, when he was in exile.  My stepfather's family and the Vanderbilts and other well known people were also members there.  Today, one could take one of those 2 million watt lanterns and try to signal across Long Island sound to see if anyone is still out there.  It is 15 degrees Fahrenheit out there at the moment http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=40.8467&lon=-73.5045#.WksjEDdryUk .  Back while moving out there, it was about zero degrees Fahrenheit.  Afterwards, I stayed with George Cary at his Uncle Charlie's at East 72nd Street.  When I came out on the train to Greenwich, I was arrested for not having the money to pay for a $2 ticket, so I spent the night in the Mount Vernon jail, and the following morning on the train to Greenwich, the headlines in the paper was that the Penn Central railroad was bankrupt.  By not making it out to Greenwich, I missed going to the party that Kip Forbes invited me to for the Victorian Society at Grammery Park, but a week later, I threw a big party for about a thousand people in a loft above the Oldsmobile garage on West 57th Street across from the C.B.S. broadcast center.  It was one of those five dollar a head parties with all that one could drink.  There was a lot of security there.  I went with my mother, youngest sister, and Helen Williams during a blizzard.  I even invited Connie Chung of CBS News.  While drinking Jack Daniels, I met the grandson of Emperor Hirohito of Japan named Lance, and he told me he was a concert pianist.  After that party, I started spending more time in Greenwich.  CIO

01/02/18 Tuesday 12:50 A.M.  On the Dell Latitude E6400 laptop, Windows 10 is too slow on it, so I am restoring the Windows 7 backup from about three years ago.  I will now go outside again to bay at the moon.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 11:50 P.M.  I moved the www.harvard.edu chair facing out in the living room to the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner.  I moved the magazine rack in front of the left stereo bookcase.  Thus the Harvard chair is more useable.  I turned on the power to the 14 inch JVC television on the right side of the primary work computer, so it is available to watch with its remote control on top of the Asus Internet radio.  I turned the Asus Internet radio on, and I am now listening WHRB Harvard Radio Broadcasting 95.3 FM.  For it to work, the right rear power strip rear switch has to be turned on to turn on the second Netgear switch.  I used my Black and Decker dust buster to clean around the Harvard chair.  Sounds like Chinese music coming out of the Harvard Radio station.  I finished upgrading the Dell Latitude E6410 laptop computer.  I will now go outside again.  I once met Brett Clark from Manhattan and Palm Beach, and he had a degree in design from www.harvard.edu , and his father was the Austrian consulate to the www.un.org .  He also had design firms in Vienna, Austria.  One of his projects was redesigning the Kennedy Library up in Boston.  He was tiny like Billy Baldwin, but he looked to be very cleaver.  His family also owned Steuben Class, and he was also from where the sand in Ohio comes for Steuben class, probably Steubenville, Ohio.  I also dealt with a homeless young man on Greenwich Avenue for two years about 15 years ago that had PHD in computers from www.mit.edu and www.harvard.edu and he had two younger brothers attending those schools.  He told me had been homeless in over 40 countries.  He was from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and as I recall his father was a medal of honor recipient in the Viet Nam war.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 11:05 P.M.   I mailed the Microsoft Money Income versus Spending report in the mail room downstairs.  I moved the garbage can in the kitchen to the right side in front of the refrigerator.  I moved the small oak chair with the candy stripe cushion from the bedroom desk to in front of the little white food rack along side the www.ge.com stove in the kitchen.  I never use the GE stove, since I have the Farberware convection oven.  Now one can watch television in the kitchen.  I moved the Hoover vacuum underneath the bedroom desk, so the left side of the bed in bedroom is now clear.  I will now upgrade the Windows 10 Apps on the two Dell laptops.  When one spends a lot of time at home in the winter, there is always plenty of interior decoration to work on.  When I used Fred Von Mierers apartment in Manhattan, when he was taking over Billy Baldwin's business, he was always changing things around.  Also he used to leave the Frederick air conditioner in the window going year round to ventilate the apartment, but I do not need to do that in these frigid conditions.  Midtown Manhattan has a very powerful steam grid, so a lot of the buildings tend to be overheated.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 10:25 P.M.  I will now go outside again.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 10:00 P.M.  When I was at Paradise Island at Nassau in the Bahamas for three days in February 1978,  I met Richard Mercy form 21 Eaton Square, London, England SW.  He looked a bit like Prince Charles, and he was staying with somebody with last name Romsey which is one of Prince Charles's cousin's last name.  I noticed when I was looking at the Cat Cay web site in the Bahamas, somebody with the last name Mercy was mentioned on their web site, so maybe he has a home in Cat Cay.  Basically, when one gets older, one never hears from all of those many people that one met, when one was younger.  I guess most people do not feel the need to communicate, and they are comfortable in their own environment.  I will now go through http://scott-mike.com/bf.htm .  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 9:15 P.M.  I went outside twice.  It is a full moon, so I will have to keep an eye out for any werewolves around here.  I chatted with a relative.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I used my pliers to tighten the coaxial cable connections in the apartment, and now the kitchen television is clear as a bell.  I no longer have a chair in the kitchen to watch television, but when I am cooking standing up, it is available to watch and listen to.  Back in the olds at college at www.lfc.edu , we never knew what was going on in America, and the local Chicago people thought we were odd for reading the www.nytimes.com and watching www.cbsnews.com .  Most of the local Chicago people only cared about local Chicago sports and nothing else.  About 20 years ago, I met the Vanderkook twins from Greenwich, and they told me their stepfather was the editor of the Chicago Tribune for what it is worth.  A neighbor here at 71 Vinci Drive looks like Sam Zell who owns the Chicago Tribune and a estranged relative knows him.  Alas if they really were interested in what is going on out here, they could always call up somebody from the Midwest living here.  Half of Fairfield Country, Connecticut is supposed to be people from the Midwest.  I guess they are more interested in http://www.garrisonkeillor.com/ who actually supposed to be in upper Midwest as opposed to us back east living at the so called edge of the tropics.  I will now go outside again.  I will then shower and clean up.  I am seeing a lot of air traffic returning people from holidays down south.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 6:40 P.M.  I woke up at 5:30 P.M., and I chatted with a relative.  I went outside. CIO

01/01/18 Monday 9:00 A.M.  I went outside, and I chatted with some of my daytime neighbors.  It is now 5 degrees Fahrenheit outside here http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.04904598378624&lon=-73.62304748575207&site=all&smap=1#.Wko9ejdryUl .  My neighbors said if I where a mask, I might get shot downtown.  Still it is better than getting hyperthermia.  When one is outside in the cold, one gets sped up.  When I am warm inside, I slow down.  I will now shut down the primary work computer, and I will eat two Fig Newtons, and I will go to bed.  Bon Soir.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 8:10 A.M.  I put a new CR2025 battery in the Boston Acoustics Sound Bar remote control on the Haier television, so one can now control its volume and mute buttons.  I am not quite sure what the other two buttons do, since the printing on the remote control is so small.  Basically a lot of devices have small printing that nobody can figure out.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 7:55 A.M.  Earlier I ate six 1.25 inch by 1.25 inch by .25 inch slices of Cracker Barrel Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese.  When I met the homeless sexton from Christ Church, I noticed he looked quite a bit like Charlie Rumsey who in his younger days was a wild hippie traveling around America.  Thus I though he might be a relative that they forgot about.  I have been going out so much every hour when I am awake on wolf patrol and to smoke cigar cigarettes that the front entry way blue wool carpet where I take my boots and shoes off was getting quite dirty.  I had to give away my new Hoover rug shampooer to declutter the apartment, so I just used my complicated trusty Hoover to vacuum the front entry way.  I also turn over the front door mat, and I swept outside the apartment.  My living room blue wool rug has lasted the test of time, since I bought it about 29 years ago, when I first moved in here at Gloria Vanderbilt's Adopt a Dog tag sale for half price for $40 up on Lake Avenue.  Burt Parks donated it, and it had been freshly cleaned by Schaffer rug cleaners over in Stamford.  Although my father Louis Dale Scott produced millions of square yards of Acrilan carpet, all that I have is a small blue Acrilan carpet in the bedroom that is still in good shape.  Once winter is over, I can buy cans of rug cleaning powder at the Greenwich Hardware store to clean the front entry way.  However, in damp warmer weather one can also bring in dirt and mud.  This time of year, it is dirt and salt.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 7:05 A.M.  I went outside again.  I brought the 19 inch Seiki television out of storage, and I hooked it up on the rear of the bedroom desk with three 25 foot RCA cables to the bedroom RCA cable box connectors.  It works just fine.  I put its remote control at its base.  Thus one can use the bedroom laptops and watch the television.  I will now venture out into the local Lapland.  Well with all of the free time being stuck inside most of the time in the winter, there is a lot of time to organize things better.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 5:15 A.M.  When I used to drive over to White Plains, New York at night, it was not to network with the Rockefellers, because I already knew about some in Greenwich and Manhattan.  However, one night a man named David Llyod bought Richard Van Marter and myself and two others breakfast at the diner in White Plains.  He was from England.  I also know Llyod's Neck, Long Island is the wealthiest area out on Long Island, and there is a wealthy Scott family member living there in a big house.  He is archeologist from www.harvard.edu , and he likes his privacy.  Also there was a Captain Scott who discovered South Hampton.  There was another Scott who owned all of Long Island in 1700, and he sold it and moved to Jamaica, because Long Island was not very profitable in 1700.  Another Scott family member had two farms in Manhattan in 1700, and one was the sexton of the First Dutch Reform church.  However, neither Scott family in Manhattan had sons, just daughters, and one of their daughters married into the Jay family, so the Scott family property became the Jay family property.  Some people around here might know of the Jay family.  Also one of the original historical farms in Princeton, New Jersey is the Scott family farm, and the last time I was there about 25 years ago, there were historical markers for it.  I am currently living in public housing on the old Lyon Farm in Greenwich, Connecticut which used to run from Long Island Sound to Glenville.  The Lyon Farm homestead house was moved down the hill from my building, and it still looks abandoned.  Also Bowles Lyon is the family name of the Queen Mum of England.  They were one of the most prominent families in Scotland.  Also out on www.nantucket.net , there is a Lyon Farm Road, where the old Navy Quonset was, where I used to fish.  My Taft School class of 1968 class party was out at Lloyd's Neck, Long Island at a beach near Dave Maxwell's house out there, so he might have known other people out there.  Also the Scott family were original founders of Cambridge, Massachusetts, but although I look a bit like John www.harvard.edu when I have longer hair, the local intelligencia in this area does not like my look, because they think it is a German look, which I get from my mother's Dutch side of the family.  I told you recently before the United States Secret Service has an office in White Plains, New York; but the one that covers Greenwich is way up in New Haven, Connecticut.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 4:30 A.M.  My grandma Scott's family are the Gard family.  They were the original settlers in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/York,_Maine in 1624 coming from Lincolnshire, England to settle the George's plantation in York, Maine.  They left York, Maine and moved to New Jersey and then to Ohio, and finally end up in Robinson, Illinois on the Indiana border.  The family name Gard can be English, Swedish, or French.  The province of Gard in France is where www.perrier.com comes from.  Since Grandma's Scott's Gard family were English Catholics, they might have been some of the earliest English Catholics in this area of the country.  Obvious the Spanish Catholics were here earlier.  My grandfather Scott was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason whose came here in 1726 from Scotland and settled in western Pennsylvania, and then got 200 areas in North Carolina for fighting in the American revolution, and then became the wealthy William Scott family in Kentucky that my grandfather Scott in Champaign, Illinois was from.  My mother's Bovan family are related to the Vanvilavelet family in the Netherlands which is the correct Dutch pronunciation of Vanderbilt, which just means from the area of the Velt.  They were from both the Netherlands on the German and the Belgium border, and they came from the Netherlands in 1842 and settled in Holland, Michigan and that area.  The were protestant Dutch Reform, and left the Netherlands because the Dutch Catholics were confiscating the protestant properties and farms.  Alas, I think my family, although of different origins, is sort of used to this country after all of these years.  I obviously have done a lot of other research over the years. For example for the first two hundred years of Northern European settlement in North America, they did not keep very good records, but supposedly Lloyds of London's ship records over in England have a lot of interesting information.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 4:05 A.M.  http://www.pressherald.com/2017/09/19/harvard-researchers-say-new-england-forestland-acreage-is-shrinking/ .  I will now eat five Fig Newtons.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 4:00 A.M.  I was just thinking that with 360 million people in the United States of America, if they put their mind to it, they could round up the 75,000 wild horses on a measly 25 million acres in Nevada, and set them loose in New England, where there is a lot more grass to feed on.  It would also make life more interesting and be a make work project for the locally unemployed people which New England seems to have a lot of.  Connecticut is supposed to have the most horses per capita of any state in the nation, so probably there are people in this region that know something about horses.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 3:40 A.M.  In Toronto, Ontario, Canada; where they speak English it is now minus 1 degree Fahrenheit https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=7elJWtfQJ4eJ_QbJ4o2oDg&q=toronto+weather&oq=Toronto+&gs_l=psy-ab.1.0.0i131k1l2j0j0i131k1j0j0i131k1j0l4.1969.4544.0.8313.8.6.0.2.2.0.110.472.5j1.6.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.8.495...46j0i46k1.0.NS0G7VlI-Ig .  The last time I was there in early December 1983 before moving back to Greenwich, it was zero degrees Fahrenheit.  At one pub that I visited, it was about 85 degrees Fahrenheit inside, so I guess they have more energy up there.  All the Canadian natural gas they use out on Long Island comes down from Canada in a pipe line and underneath Long Island sound to Long Island.  Thus Canada is keeping Long Island warm.  When I was up there, I explored the 20 miles of underground warm pedestrian streets, where people do not have to go outside.  I stayed at the http://www.trinity.utoronto.ca/library_archives/theological_resources/anglican_resources.html on a couch in their library for about two weeks.  I found out that Toronto was 25% Chinese.  The local Canadians were out playing soccer or football in shorts and T-shirts.  There was the world's largest travel bookstore up there.  I met an Air Canada employee that gave me an Air Canada flight bag, which I think I still have.  He looked like Queen Elizabeth's brother in law Tony Snowden.  When I came down on the Amtrak, there was an older lady on the train that looked like the Queen Mum of England with a little blond boy.  She was drinking a LeBatts beer, and a lot of the Pullman conductors were waiting on her.  In Buffalo, I got off the train briefly, and I called up Charles Cary in East Aurora, New York, and he gave me his son's telephone number in Sands Point, Long Island.  When I got back down to Manhattan, I walked around for two weeks staying at the East Side airline terminal, and cleaning up at the tennis club upstairs.  In the middle of those two weeks, I spent a week at the Greenwich Hospital for swollen ankles, and after those two weeks, I was given a complete physical at the Greenwich Hospital that cost the state of Connecticut $7,500, and they determined that I was disabled, and my social worker Roz Kline found me a $250 a month apartment at 100 Milbank Avenue in the attic that welfare paid for in Greenwich, and I have been here ever since.  I did not call up George Cary until about three years later, when I was settled down at 700 Steamboat Road in Greenwich.  He visited me out here about a dozen times over the years, and once and he and his daughter stayed in my apartment, when they went to the Oxridge Horse shoe in Darien, while I was in Kennebunkport, Maine.  I also went to George H.W. Bush's inaugural with him and Richard Van Marter, and Julie that George married.  I once visited George Cary out in Sands Point, Long Island on Christmas Day, and I met his cousin Charlie the heir to the Union Pacific railroad, but all he chatted about was "Ducks Unlimited" a conservation group started by William McCormick Blair who was Charlie Cary's roommate at www.harvard.edu before World War II.  Charlie Cary was one of Wild Bill Donavan's original people in the Office of Strategic Services in World War II which became the www.cia.gov .  Even back in the fall of 1972, when I visited them in East Aurora, New York; they had me at the Fort Erie race track with the Queen Mum of England, so I figured they were probably connected with the British somehow.  However, they might be Irish, since George used to have a big poster that said "Dublin Horse Show".  However, I think his group of friends really do know horses after working with them for about 60 years.  I will now go back outside again.  Sometimes it warms up during the cold winters, whenever there is a solar flare, but I think they go in a fifteen year cycle, so it will probably not happen anytime soon.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 2:40 A.M.  I heated and ate a 16 ounce Campbell's Well Yes roasted chicken and wild rice soup https://www.campbells.com/well-yes/soups/roasted-chicken-wild-rice-soup/ which I put a bag of oyster crackers in, and I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of diet Fresca.  To heat about 16 ounces of soup, I put the soup in a microwave proof pot with lid https://www.amazon.com/Microwave-Cookware-Set-6-pieces/dp/B0127D6I5S/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_79_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=58ZCJ41CQ6DFKKRCTH5G or https://www.amazon.com/Home-X-Microwave-Sauce-Pan-Lid/dp/B012HD601U/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_79_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=58ZCJ41CQ6DFKKRCTH5G , and I microwave it in a regular microwave oven at 60% power for 4 minutes.  I will now go outside and bay at the moon again.  In the little path leading into the woods at the east end of the building, there are no animal tracks leading into or out of the woods in the light snow on the ground.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 1:50 A.M.  I went outside again.  It is minus 16 degrees Fahrenheit in Kennebunkport, Maine at the moment http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=43.3626&lon=-70.4701#.WknYWjdryUk and Boston an hour and half south drive is only 2 degrees Fahrenheit http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=42.3587&lon=-71.0567#.WknYmTdryUk  and Greenwich is 6 degrees Fahrenheit http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.04904598378624&lon=-73.62304748575207&site=all&smap=1#.WknYxjdryUl .  For some reason Kennebunkport is a lot colder than Boston.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 1:00 A.M.  In case this cold weather does not go away any time soon, I ordered in three holes https://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Wintuck-Face-Mask-Cold-Weather-Winter-Facemask-Warm-Head-Covers-/200991921637?var=&hash=item7476858174 for $4.99 and $3.69 shipping for $8.68 total.  I printed out two copies of my Microsoft Sunset Income versus Spending report for December 2017, and I have one copy ready to mail to an interested relative with one forever stamp.  CIO

01/01/18 Monday 12:15 A.M.  This is something sponsored by www.ford.com and https://nationalzoo.si.edu/webcams/panda-cam?cam=panda03 .  The Panda should have a William Morris agent http://wmeentertainment.com/  in order to make more money.  Probably the richest Scott family member https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Scott,_10th_Duke_of_Buccleuch and I think he is well connected having been the Queen Mum's page.  CIO
